Alcatraz Restaurant GmbH in Uelzen

We ate there spontaneously without a reservation. Good selection and delicious food. We've been there many times and it's delicious every time.

We went there for dinner last night and were really looking forward to it! We drive almost 1 hour to Uelzen... Oh well! Table was reserved; We had to wait 45 minutes for our starter of onion soup and bruschetta due to a mistake... nothing came until this information... New guests who came during that time received their main course before our starter arrived (Buschetta 6 minutes of work - no restaurant makes onion soup until you ordered it.. it is pre-cooked.:: since there are only 2 soups as a starter anyway). Bruschetta watery... little taste... onion soup... very little content and not earth-shattering (we wouldn't order it again)... rump steak with baked potatoes and mushrooms very tasty and really medium rear, really tender, the same dish but with fried potatoes... they were weak and lukewarm... annoying ... if we hadn't waited so long for the starter... and we had almost finished the steak when they asked if everything was ok... No matter... our advice was listened to... but nothing more! Which I think is a shame... other restaurants offer something as an apology... I thought that too when the waiter asked; whether we would like an espresso or cappuccino, but even that was on the bill 😢all in one 90, - and not super happy... And the words still have room for improvement, to the waiter; who was obviously disappointed about the “tip” Not again!

Great service, friendly and accommodating. There's still a little room for improvement with the burger. The meat was well cooked and therefore a little firm. Still tastes very good. My colleagues (4), who all had something different, could also confirm this.

Everything was great, but the steak with fried potatoes in particular was outstanding!

One of the best restaurants I have visited

Chicken schnitzel was fried instead of fried, the fries were over-fried and tasted like old fat. The champion sauce simply tasted sweet and creamy. But the worst thing was that the service, while guests were eating there, sprayed the lower guest room with fragrance spray, the smell was simply unbearable.

So the food was very good. The portion “for a small appetite” was huge. The schnitzels were also great. However, the cellars seemed rather annoyed. No greeting or anything like that. Despite reservations, there was initially disagreement about where we could sit. We found it all a bit of a shame. Food great. Everything else still has room for improvement. Maybe the cellar just had a bad day.

I don't often write reviews, but it's more than appropriate here. We visited Alcatraz on August 31st in the evening. As another customer complained in the reviews, none of the restaurant's toilets were unusable. There hadn't been a toilet in the store for at least three hours. When asked, they said: “We called plumbers, but you know how it is with craftsmen in Germany.” That borders on absolute impudence! It is a disgrace that during our stay we observed that employees sent customers to the toilets, but they were broken. Every plumber has an emergency service. So it's more than unrealistic that no plumber came in those three hours. The employees seem to be in the wrong business because I have never experienced such incompetence. The fact that we received our food for more than 90 minutes and only when we specifically asked for it also shows a lack of integrity, competence and performance on the part of the employees. Despite being very hungry and eating so late, we didn't like it and it was cold. In summary, the stay was a disaster. For the bubbles of all guests as well as for the palate.

Ordered steak medium rare and got it well. There was aluminum foil in the burger.

The food is snack-like at best. We were here today on August 31, 2024. The women's toilets could not be used because they were flooded. When I asked, they just said, "The plumber has been called en but didn't come." It doesn't work that way.

The "new" operators have brought it back to life. We will come back here more often.

The cocktails, the food, the waiters, the atmosphere and the location are top.

Tried it again after years. The new design looks quite good. But otherwise unfortunately not so. Wine glass was pretty dirty. No regrets from the service, just a "yes, it's dirty". It wasn't until the meal was almost over that someone came to ask if it tasted good. Some were only lukewarm (meat), some were ok (potatoes). Cardboard bread for tapas... well. We expressed that we felt it was unambitious. There was no attempt to give us a positive overall impression.

Went here for lunch on Saturday. We sat outside in warm weather. We were greeted warmly and served quickly. The drinks came to the table quickly and a short time later the main course arrived with a small salad. The food tasted very good and was plentiful. We will be back!

It would be very nice if the menu also pointed out (as with the hot food) that you can only order cocktails up to a certain time if you came specifically for that reason.

Great team, good setting, very average industrial ingredients - I worked in street food with chicken and couldnt tell what I was eating in a chicken dish. Suggest they upgrade their purchase agreement. The menu is vastly too big - it looks like the food is re-heated and microwaved. A tight focus on local sourcing and stronger flavours will be successful. The team is super friendly. The physical building feels like a large microwave oven - location great, but some thought and care for atmosphere will work well. Will go again when the next step is made. It couldn't be better and anyone who knows Frank Riemenschneider really can't seriously believe that. A sick person without contact dares to criticize. It doesn't work at all. Wonderful place to enjoy tapas in the middle of the Lüneburg Heath. Great selection of tapas and other dishes. Fast and attentive service at fair prices rounds the whole thing off. Recommended, have fun 😀.

I was at Alcatraz in Uelzen last week. When I paid I didn't get enough change back, I noticed that in the restaurant, I pointed it out to the waiter and he realized his mistake and gave me the missing money. When I left the restaurant I took the bill with me and found it at home that one more drink was added to the bill. The next day I wanted my money back but the waiter (I even think it was the boss) denied everything. After some discussion he gave me the money for a drink. What else can you say about that?

Not bad. True, they found a hair in the food... and they waited about 10 minutes for the check, although simple dishes were ordered and there were few people inside. I won't spoil the overall rating.

The restaurant is initially very inconspicuous from the outside, but is very attractively decorated inside. The service was good. The food surprised me positively, both in terms of quantity and quality! In terms of price it was also completely okay. We felt comfortable there and will definitely come back to eat there again!

Was there for dinner with my family. We all had the impression that no spice was used in the kitchen. The Jägerschnitzel we ordered was not recognizable as such. Overall, the kitchen has deteriorated a lot.

The location is very centrally located and offers plenty of free parking nearby. When the weather is good, there is a lovely outdoor area right on the water. This location can't be beat. Since it is also a sports bar, there is a corresponding noise level inside The service is quick and very attentive. The kitchen delivers surprisingly good quality. The tapas are very tasty and traditional. The steaks and schnitzels are of very high quality and perfectly prepared. We'd love to come back.

Once a year in Alcatraz 😉 and super satisfied every time. We come from the Ruhr area and visit friends who live nearby once a year. The visit is then combined with a meal at Alcatraz. The highlight for our daughter is always the lava cake with a liquid chocolate center.

The three of us were in the restaurant last night. Inconspicuous from the outside, but very cozy inside with a view of the Ilmenau. The service was great, the food was amazing. We'd love to come back. Silvi from Uelzen, Maggi and Angelika from Magdeburg.

Were very pleasantly surprised by the interior. Our 3 dishes looked very good and were very tasty😊. The only drawback was that the burger was overdone and therefore too dry. Maybe just ask who would like it and how🤗 Service was nice and very friendly. Price/performance perfect. We felt completely comfortable. Thank you. We would be happy to come back😃

Food and drinks very tasty. We were invited there for a birthday dinner, unfortunately the table was unsuitable. After I asked for another table, the service rolled his eyes, we had the boss bring us, he organized another table for us that was perfect. After we had all ordered and our food arrived, the birthday child had not received his food. We were told it had been forgotten and he would be there in 5 minutes, which then turned into 20 minutes. The same meal passed us twice. And that's a real shame. Because you couldn't eat comfortably like that.

Unfortunately, the burger for 15 EUR only had a run-of-the-mill frozen patty with no taste as its main ingredient. Given the price, I was expecting a level above McDonald's. But the view of the Illmenau was good.

It was a football broadcast, so it was probably louder than usual?! Interesting outlook. Enjoy your meal. Something for everyone. Still or/and therefore worth a visit. With repetition. ...

Restaurant ist leider nicht mehr zu empfehlen. Die Qualität lässt leider immer mehr nach und wenn man es bemängelt wird nur gelächelt. Drei von den vier Speisen wurden deshalb nicht aufgegessen. Burger Qualität ist echt nicht ok. Ambiente ok und die junge Bedienung sehr freundlich daher noch drei Sterne

Nachdem ich eine Beschwerde vom Besitzer erhalten habe, wo sogar behauptet wurde ich wäre ein fake Account, mache ich die Rezension mehr sachlich. Ich hatte damals den veganen Burger, er hat nicht geschmeckt, und ich bin da normal nicht pingelig. Der Kellner war an dem Tag auch nicht sehr zugunsten des Gastes unterwegs, einfach allgemein nicht nett. Deshalb stehe ich zu meiner Bewertung.

Tolles Essen, aufmerksames, freundliches Personal, einfach super und ausnahmslos weiter zu empfehlen!

Ich kenne diesen Ort schon vom ersten Tag der Eröffnung, damals hatte es noch einen anderen Namen (zum Wasserfall?) Ich hatte unter anderem eine Cola light/zero, diese hatte einen ganz komischen Geschmack und das war nicht nur meine Meinung. Jemand an unserem Tisch hatte die selbe Cola bestellt und der fand das auch. Hatte es dann auch der Bedienung gesagt, dieser brachte dann in einem kleinen Glas eine frische Probe um festzustellen ob evtl. normale Cola serviert worden wäre, das war nicht der Fall, die Probe schmeckte genauso komisch. Ansonsten war er der Meinung es wäre alles okay und damit war die Sache für ihn erledigt. Also ich trinke immer Cola light/zero ca zweimal die Woche in irgendeinem Lokal und auch immer in meiner Wohnung täglich, ich hatte vorher noch nie eine Cola getrunken, die so komisch geschmeckt hat. Insgesamt trübte das Ergebnis so ein bisschen den Gesamteindruck. Wir waren zu siebt an einem Tisch und hatten fast alle Steak bestellt, fanden es eigentlich etwas merkwürdig, dass keiner gefragt wurde wie er das Fleisch haben möchte. Für mich hätte das Essen insgesamt etwas wärmer sein können, ansonsten war es für mich geschmacklich okay

Sehr stimmige Atmosphäre. Das Essen war nicht nur lecker, es war auch sehr ansprechend angerichtet. Auch kleine Sonderwünsche werden erfüllt. Ein schöner Silvesterabend.

War da jetz schon zum dritten mal mit meiner Familie, hat immer sehr lecker geschmeckt, nettes und gutes Personal und aufmerksamer Chef, auch ein kinderfreundliches Restaurant.

Essen sehr gut. Mit einem Lichtkegel kann man am Tisch die Bedienung rufen, geniale Idee! Direkt am Wasserfall gelegen, was sehr schön ist. Negativ ist die Geräuschkolisse im Restaurant. Wäre aber doof, dafür einen ganzen Stern abzuziehen.

Das Essen ist in Ordnung. Der Service ist auf Zack und die Atmosphäre ist locker. Nichts besonderes aber auch kein Grund zum Klagen.

Mega großer Bürger und Pizza, geschmack ist Fantastisch, die Bedienung super Nett bei einer sehr schönen Ambiente was sehr ansprechend ist und Lust zum Essen und trinken macht. Wahren gestern mit meiner Familie da essen sehr gute Klima plus noch das Personal 1aaaa und das Essen wahr auch toll wir wahren mit alles sehr sehr zufrieden wir werden Stamm Kunde.

Getränke und Essen wurden schnell und freundlich serviert und schmeckt super lecker.

Mit Pizza war ich top zufrieden, nicht trocken, gut belegt, nicht zu fettig, einfach perfekt. Und ein anderes Mal cordon Bleu war auch der Hammer. 👌😊

Zu später Stunde nach dem Kinobesuch machten wir uns auf die Suche nach einer netten Location in Uelzen, um über den Film zu sprechen und etwas zu trinken. Im Alcatraz, welches uns Freunde empfohlen hatten, wurden wir fündig. Vom einfachen Mineralwasser über einen Aperol Spritz bis hin zu ausgefallenen und bekannten Cocktails auch in alkoholfreier Version wurden alle Wünsche erfüllt. Lediglich ein Angebot für einen kleinen Snack fehlte. Ein paar Chips, Erdnüsse oder Ähnliches hätten uns restlos glücklich gemacht.

Insgesamt ist dieses Restaurant einen Besuch wert, das Ambiente ist durchaus athmosphärisch. Die Zeit von der Bestellung bis zur Servierung war absolut im Rahmen, ein nicht unwichtiges Kriterium. Auswahl und Qualität der einzelnen Gerichte verdienen meiner Meinung nach die Note gut, dieses entspricht auch dem Service im Allgemeinen.

Ich versuche mal eine faire und objektive Bewertung meines Besuches abzugeben: Das Ambiente ist aussen wie Innen sehr gut. Die Bedienung schnell und freundlich. Wir hatten 2 Essen. Eines davon war ein Schnitzel. Hierfür gebe ich höchstens 2 von 5 Punkten. Zu lange gebacken, die Pfeffersauche nicht gut. Das Fleisch totgebraten. Das 2. Essen war gut. Ich würde trotzdem wiederkommen, aber ein anderes Gericht auswählen. Jeder hat eine zweite Chance verdient.

Gute Getränke, Super schnelles und leckeres Essen. Der Service war absolut freundlich und einwandfrei. Der Laden macht einen sehr guten und sauberen Eindruck. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Schönes Ambiente, leckeres Essen. Wir haben auf der Heimfahrt hier Halt gemacht.

Angenehme Atmosphäre. Ich hatte einen Burger der sehr lecker war! Leider ein bisschen zu viel öl, aber das Patty sowie die anderen Zutaten haben sehr gut zusammen geschmeckt und waren sehr gut zubereitet! Außerdem waren die Hausgemachten Limos sehr schmackhaft und haben das Essen gut ergänzt. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist absolut in ordnung.

Wir hatten hier heute ein tolles Mittagessen. Der Service war sehr freundlich und schnell und das Essen ganz hervorragend. Da schönes Wetter war, saßen wir draußen direkt am Wasser.

Einmal im Monat sehr leckereres Frühstück! Kann man weiter empfehlen. Service war auch top! Preislich alles völlig im Rahmen.

Locale bello ben fatto e ben strutturato...personale nella media e cibo nella media(si può fare meglio). I piatti tedeschi sono buoni la pizza da migliorare (come cottura soprattutto) birra buona. Nella media il prezzo qualità è discreto.

In den Sommermonaten ist es der beste Platz zum draußen sitzen, da man einen wunderschönen Blick auf die Ilmenau hat. Aber auch im Winter ist dieses Restaurant mit der tollen Bar und dem Sky-Programm ein toller Ort, um sich mit Freunden zu treffen und nebenbei was leckeres zu essen.

Ich weiß auch, dass das Alcatraz wirklich mal bessere Zeiten hatte und eine Zeit lang nicht den besten Ruf hatte. Trotzdem wollten wir dem Restaurant während eines Brunchbesuches nochmal eine Chance geben und waren wirklich sehr positiv überrascht. Ein sehr reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet zu einem humanen Preis inkl. Kaffee und Tee und einem Glas Saft. Es war für jeden was dabei wie zum Beispiel Lachs, Mett, Fleischsalat, Auftstriche, Käse, Nudelgerichte, Rührei, Nuggets usw. Dabei wurde auch auf eine nette Aufmachung/Präsentation und Frische viel Wert gelegt. Über den Service können wir uns garnicht beschweren, sie waren auch hier sehr aufmerksam und bemüht. Ich denke, dass das Restaurant solche Bewertungen über google etc. ja lesen wird und mit Sicherheit an sich arbeiten wird bzw. muss. Wir konnten uns beim letzten Besuch jedenfalls garnicht beschweren und kommen auf jedenfall sehr gerne wieder und wünschen weiterhin viel Erfolg!
