Alaska Bar in Berlin

One of my absolute favourite restaurants in Berlin. I love bringing different friends here, and it always feels like a new discovery since the menu keeps evolving. Every visit is a treat, and I’ll keep adding more photos over time! Some of my all-time favourites: roasted aubergine on a bed of tahini, the watermelon feta salad with pickled onions, Romana lettuce with green pesto, banderillas, croquettes (they keep surprising with new ones 😍), foie gras… and the list goes on. Thank you for consistently spectacular food!

Terrible service. The waiter was childishly arrogant and it was impossible to have a normal conversation with him. He was rude and disrespectful. I brought my friends there and they were also shocked at how we were treated. The food was amazing, though.

Love this place! The best bravas in Berlin, super good croquetas, and the decoration always has something new to catch your attention. The only dish I don't recommend too much is the tortilla, I think it's not a good replacement.

It's always full! So it's a good idea to make a reservation! But people who make a reservation, don't keep them waiting! A little respect, too.

This place is always worth it! The finest tapas. Everything is homemade and plant-based. The wine selection is wonderful and the prices are absolutely reasonable. Special features: music and decor! 🌈❤️

There were four of us and unfortunately we didn't have a reservation, but came very spontaneously. There was no free space inside, and unfortunately there is a maximum of three people per table outside. After a table for three became free outside and I waited for my friends outside the restaurant, I was offered a fourth chair so that we could still get a seat. All the staff were super friendly super nice the food was excellent we ordered far too much. We ordered almost the entire menu but were not disappointed at all. Every dish tasted really great. I am glad that I was finally able to visit the Alaska and will definitely be back.

Super delicious drinks! Delicious food! Unusual flavor combinations! My personal highlight was the vegan foie gras! Really generous portions for tapas! The two of us had four tapas and one dessert and were quite full! Be sure to make a reservation! The service is super friendly and, despite being extremely busy, always friendly, accommodating, and attentive!

One of my favorite restaurants in Berlin. I’m not vegan, but I absolutely love the food they serve here — the flavors are spot on, creative and satisfying. The atmosphere is super queer-friendly and there’s almost always a great music vibe. The staff is lovely and welcoming. One thing that could be improved is the ventilation — we usually leave smelling like fried food. But honestly, it’s totally worth it. They’ve recently added new dishes — the vegan foie and the eggplant are to die for. Make sure to book in advance, the place is always packed!

Very nice place with extraordinary vegan food that you cannot find elsewhere. As a vegan I love the bar. The vibes there are amazing. The food and the drinks are very good. The portions feel like it could be bigger. Though, most of what I tried tasted very good.

I really like the food and the atmosphere. Everything we ate was amazing. However the service here is always horrible. Staff is not only super slow, but also very unfriendly. For me this is unfortunately a reason not to go back.

The drinks were very good, but that's where it ends. The women's restroom was missing a toilet seat, soap, and towels. The food was extremely oily, and the generous amount of spices sprinkled on top seemed to be trying to disguise the lack of flavor. The dishes didn't arrive at the same time, but rather one at a time, over a period of ten minutes. Service was unfortunately extremely poor and inattentive. We were only noticed for the first time, then the table was partially cleared once, and despite empty glasses and our request for dessert, no one ever came back to the table. The interior is a matter of taste; it was a bit too trashy for us. Not a single fork matched another, no tablecloth for decoration, a ton of junk with no concept. Whatever you see in the pictures - imagine it ten times better. The menu was incredibly dirty and crumpled.

I'll definitely be back; all the dishes impressed me 😍 The cod, in particular, was very special and very, very tasty. I can also recommend the patatas bravas – and contrary to some reviews, I think the portion sizes, especially for tapas, are anything but too small! You'll be wonderfully filling :)

Food and drinks are great and super tasty. I can recommend the eggplant in tahin and the patatas bravas! The tapas are a bit pricy but sizes are huge. The vibes were immaculate and the service was fast and matched the great vibes even though the bar was filled with people!! Very recommended!

Extremely delicious, authentic vegan Spanish tapas! We had the patatas bravas, bread with tomato, the salmon sandwich, and the cod on potato, and everything was truly fantastic. The service was friendly and attentive; we'd be happy to come back! I recommend making a reservation, as it gets very busy.

Horrible horrible service. I do not recommend this place unless you like being spoken to like you’re incompetent. The waitress rolled her eyes at me and spoke to me like I have done something wrong. We were three people sitting outside and informed the staff that we are expecting another person. They informed us that no more than two people are actually allowed to sit at the outside tables, but they made an exception for us being three people, which we understood completely. So we asked if the table next to us frees up can we sit across two tables, to which the waitress said we must check with her first. We did check with her and were met with the most rudeness I’ve ever experienced from restaurant staff. And I was trying to be so polite. She spoke to me with such an undermining tone and made me feel so uncomfortable. I will never return to this place despite the food being great. A word of advice, if you want returning customers treat people with kindness and a little more respect.

10/10. One of my favorite Places in Berlin. Took my Mom who lived in Spain for many years out to Alaska to introduce her to vegan tapas and she was obsessed.

This is the best restaurant in all of Berlin. It doesn’t get any better! The only possible critique I could make is that it is relatively small, so you need to know pretty far in advance that you want to go and reserve. But that’s expected in Berlin.

I had an awful experience here. Even though the food was okay I was impressed by the hostility and bad disposition of the staff plus the drinks where really bad quality. I never give bad reviews because I understand how chaotic a bar could be but this time I felt really uncomfortable and treated very poorly.

Some of the best food I've ever had, and all vegan! Amazing flavours and variety, friendly and efficient service, and such a lovely interesting place to have a meal. I highly recommend this place. I'll be back next time I'm in Berlin, without a doubt.

Good vibes, amazing food, can only recommend. We went with a big group and tried almost everything on the menu. Everything was delicious. Staff is very friendly. Decor is funky and very cosy.

I was there with three friends. The food was average and the cocktails were very good. What was truly unacceptable was the service. The waitress almost threw our food away because there was no more room at the table. We were missing two dishes, and we asked if they were coming, to which she very rudely replied that of course they were, making us feel impatient after waiting 20 minutes. She left us with all the dishes, and when we asked for something, she just pretended to look at us, so I spoke louder to see if she could hear me, and her response was completely out of proportion. It's incredible to read that this waitress behaves like this repeatedly. Truly unacceptable! It's no excuse to say that something happened tonight, as this seems to be systematic.

They only gave us the table for 2 hrs and they took ages to bring the food, we had 20 minutes left and the waiter said we couldn’t order a desert cause we wouldn’t have enough time… they took forever to bring additional bread and they mentioned it in advance but how can they limit the tables for such a short time if their kitchen is so slow? The food is good, but it’s not worth it

The food tasted good, except for the pirogi, but not very good or even better. It's reminiscent of the food you eat at shared parties. Good but not excellent quality or anything. Unfortunately the portions are very small for the prices. The two of us ordered five things and at least I wasn't full. The prices are really extremely high for the quantity. Pirogi for 10 euros are four small bags. Fried peppers for 9 euros are about 10 roasted peppers. The bread is more of a roll. The seasoning was a bit off on everything. One is too salty, the other is too garlicy, the other is too bland and the pirogi look nice, but this really just tasted disgusting. The food came within 20 minutes. So not everything at the same time. Of course you can start with one of the five dishes, but I found that very wrong. Unfortunately the store is extremely loud. It's more like a pub where everyone is shouting at each other because the music and shouting is so loud that I had napkins pressed into my ears. It is not possible to have conversations there. The decor reminded me of the contents of the boxes in apartment entrances around town that say “to be given away.” Everything is so close to being garbage. The tablecloth, for example, was just incredibly ugly. The plates are also in this “style”. I didn't find the service to be attentive or friendly. We spent 55 euros for two people who weren't full. I wouldn't go there again. It's too expensive for that, the food isn't really outstanding and the atmosphere and service are below average.

Fantastic, slightly experimental vegan tapas. The pan amb tomaquet is on par with what you find in Catalunya, the Bravas are spot on. Trilingual Service (Castellano, English, German) that was super attentive and helpful navigating food intolerances and allergies. Huge recommendation, I hope to return with some basic Catalan and fluent Castellano skills soon - just to honor the impeccable dishes offered here.

It was hard to have my order taken here. Even though I was trying to make eye contact with the female waitress and smiling when I did, she was rude to me and told me to relax, went away a bit and then finally came to the table with a cold demeanor. I know it’s Berlin and people are standoffish, but this was definitely rude service.

I think it's over exaggerated. If you have not tried vegan restaurants before, you may think that they offer very good food. Additionally, if you experience Spanish cuisine in different places, you may find that there are many more vegan options. Table reservations are made on an hourly basis. However, this information is not stated either at the time of booking or on the business's website. When the last glass sold to you after the meal arrives, you are told to get up as soon as possible. Naturally, you think that they have just brought you a drink, just finish it and get up. Then, in the corner of the bar, the person whose job you think is doing this stares at you and doesn't take it off until you get up. It's a pretty disturbing attitude. If you are making a timed reservation, please provide this information either at the time of reservation or before taking their order. It's not very ethical to put their order in front of them and say you have to get up soon. Even if you have the best menu in the world (which you don't), you will not be successful if you present your presentation thinking that your customers need you.

Our visit to this cozy restaurant with vegan tapas started promisingly. The selection of creative dishes aroused curiosity, and the carrot salmon in particular impressed us with its taste. Unfortunately, the Romana hearts, for example, couldn't keep up and left us rather disappointed. Nevertheless, it initially seemed to be a nice evening. However, the reservation situation was a major drawback. We had reserved a table in advance and enjoyed our meal and a glass of wine. But after about 1 hour and 40 minutes we were told that our table would be taken again in 20 minutes. It may be common practice for reservations to be limited in time, but we were not informed of this. This led to an extremely unpleasant feeling, because barely 18 minutes later - my wine glass was not yet empty - the bill arrived. A few minutes later we were put under additional pressure with evil looks from the bar. What was particularly irritating was that during our hasty farewell, our table was not cleared and no new guests were seated. At the same time, other guests left the restaurant without any apparent time pressure. A neighboring table with a group that had arrived before us even remained seated. This reinforced the impression that we were being arbitrarily forced to leave. Without this unpleasant experience, we would certainly have spent another hour, ordered dessert and coffee and ended the evening in a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, there was a bitter aftertaste that overshadowed the positive impression of the meal.

The food is just excellent. The menu changes quite often which allows to discover different tastes. Recommend !

Cosy Tapas Restaurant with funky interior design. Celebrated my birthday there with a group of 10 and everyone felt welcome. We enjoyed Patatas Bravas with a delicious homemade garlic and chili sauce. My favorite dish in Berlin. You can definitely order anything from the menu. It’s also all vegan. Yummy!

An alternative and diverse Tapas bar if there ever was one, I think that of all the vegan places where I have eaten, the one that... The tapas were very delicious, I still remember the aioli sauce for the patatas bravas, I would like to return to taste them again and have them make gluten-free croquettes, although I don't like the area that much, to be honest. The waitress was attentive and the atmosphere very cool.

I unfortunately had a horrible experience here. They refused to let me present a slice of our vegan birthday cake to my friend even though they had no cake on the menu (we paid €100+ from their restaurant and I offered to pay €20 just so we could give our friend her surprise birthday cake, her favourite one). To make matters worse, the rude waiter came over to the table to say they could put the cake in the fridge in front of the birthday girl to completely ruin the surprise (he was told it was a secret 30 seconds before this, as most birthday cakes are). When we were leaving 2 hours later, they said actually we could stay and have the cake because they wanted us to buy an extra round of drinks! Unbelievably rude and would not recommend it to anyone! My first bad review I ever wrote for a restaurant.

Always crowded, make sure to reserve

The food and drinks are fantastic here. The atmosphere is great, the service is friendly and you definitely feel comfortable. The prices are not cheap but not too expensive either. Definitely worth a visit. It is advisable to reserve in advance, especially if you come as a group. Everything is vegan :)

Alright, let me write a review. It’s a very warm, still very professional atmosphere. Waiters own their space but invite you in. Food is off the hook. It’s proper Michelin business in terms of creativity and out of the box’ness. It’s political and at the same time VERY friendly. Quality and vision are beyond everything else in Berlin. And it’s very Neukölln in terms of quirk and queer and price. You really take the crown for being the best of many worlds!

The food was okay, but not outstanding. Service could be a bit quicker given the manageable size of the Kaden. But above all, nicer. Employees seem listless and bitchy.

Hier findet man ein super Auswahl an veganen Speisen, was man auf den ersten Blick gar nicht vermutet. Wir haben "Kabeljau" und "Foi gras" super lecker. Der Service ist top und von Herzlichkeit geprägt. Das Restaurant ist auch für Nichtveganer ein Besuch wert!

I have been to Alaska bar a few times already and I have been enjoying the quality of the food there. Last night went back there with friends. Food was still good, however have to say I was disappointed by the service and the behaviour of some of the employees there. Apparently they were short on staff last night, however after having to wait for our patatas bravas for around 30 minutes , we were confronted by the rude behaviour of one of the staff giving us examples of how Germans and Spanish ppl are different!! I didn't find this comment appropriate and would rather have received a sympathetic apology! We were all there to have a good time and such unnecessary behaviour can simply ruin an otherwise nice night.

Very high quality food and drinks and super cozy atmosphere. If you are in the mood for tapas and drinks then Alaska Bar is definitely the place to go. Also very helpful and friendly staff.

Here you will find a great selection of vegan dishes, which you wouldn't expect at first glance. We had “cod” and “foi gras” which were super tasty. The service is top and characterized by warmth. The restaurant is also worth a visit for non-vegans!

Super cool location with great vegan food. Recommend the salmon bread. Negatively, the table could only be reserved for 2 hours on Saturday. We wanted to drink another bottle or two of the very good Rose. Then we did it somewhere else.

We loved the food, drinks, and décor. Despite the place being crowded, the seating was surprisingly comfortable. It was a bit challenging to get the servers’ attention since they were quite busy, but once we did, they were friendly and helpful. We also appreciated how welcoming both the staff and other customers were to our dog. Our only issue was the noise level—the atmosphere was charming and intimate, but the music, along with the loud conversations, made it overwhelmingly noisy.

10/10! Each of the dishes we ordered was extremely tasty and although we were pretty full towards the end (ordered a little too much, oops :D), there was nothing left. The drinks were also great, had a wine and a mocktail. The price is right and the store is coolly decorated, there is a lot to discover :) and everything vegan, best!!

Great vegan selection, cozy atmosphere and great vibe! However, the price-performance ratio is not quite right. The food is good, but average, often too sweet (I usually love sweet-salty combinations) and you actually have to order at least three tapas per person to fill you up, which then ends up costing at least €25 + drinks . It's hardly worth it. The service is also rather mediocre: we had to wait quite a long time for our food and chase the bill. It was a great evening because of the great atmosphere, but we probably won't be back.

I had an unfortunate experience. This will be my only time coming to this place. While I understand that the bar is trendy and has a specific way of managing the space, I have two suggestions: 1) It would be better not to offer reservations, as this would save your clients and staff from an unpleasant exchange. 2) Alternatively, if reservations are offered, be very explicit about the waiting timeframe for people to arrive and clearly state your policy regarding groups allowed inside the bar. It's not fair to say it's okay and then complain to the person celebrating — there's no need to ruin someone's night. Also, being passive-aggressive makes your clients feel unwelcome. Despite everything, we did stay for a couple of hours but decided to go to another bar.

Worst service ever! These people are so arrogant, they make you feel bad because they have to serve you. Waited half an hour to order something, no one cares if you re hungry or not. When you complain, they tell you if you want you can leave, so rude! Also super expensive. I was there with some friends the other day and tbh it was a mistake. This place doesnt deserve to be famous. 👎🏼😒
