I was there with three friends. The food was average and the cocktails were very good. What was truly unacceptable was the service. The waitress almost threw our food away because there was no more room at the table. We were missing two dishes, and we asked if they were coming, to which she very rudely replied that of course they were, making us feel impatient after waiting 20 minutes. She left us with all the dishes, and when we asked for something, she just pretended to look at us, so I spoke louder to see if she could hear me, and her response was completely out of proportion. It's incredible to read that this waitress behaves like this repeatedly. Truly unacceptable! It's no excuse to say that something happened tonight, as this seems to be systematic.

They only gave us the table for 2 hrs and they took ages to bring the food, we had 20 minutes left and the waiter said we couldn’t order a desert cause we wouldn’t have enough time… they took forever to bring additional bread and they mentioned it in advance but how can they limit the tables for such a short time if their kitchen is so slow? The food is good, but it’s not worth it

The food tasted good, except for the pirogi, but not very good or even better. It's reminiscent of the food you eat at shared parties. Good but not excellent quality or anything. Unfortunately the portions are very small for the prices. The two of us ordered five things and at least I wasn't full. The prices are really extremely high for the quantity. Pirogi for 10 euros are four small bags. Fried peppers for 9 euros are about 10 roasted peppers. The bread is more of a roll. The seasoning was a bit off on everything. One is too salty, the other is too garlicy, the other is too bland and the pirogi look nice, but this really just tasted disgusting. The food came within 20 minutes. So not everything at the same time. Of course you can start with one of the five dishes, but I found that very wrong. Unfortunately the store is extremely loud. It's more like a pub where everyone is shouting at each other because the music and shouting is so loud that I had napkins pressed into my ears. It is not possible to have conversations there. The decor reminded me of the contents of the boxes in apartment entrances around town that say “to be given away.” Everything is so close to being garbage. The tablecloth, for example, was just incredibly ugly. The plates are also in this “style”. I didn't find the service to be attentive or friendly. We spent 55 euros for two people who weren't full. I wouldn't go there again. It's too expensive for that, the food isn't really outstanding and the atmosphere and service are below average.

Fantastic, slightly experimental vegan tapas. The pan amb tomaquet is on par with what you find in Catalunya, the Bravas are spot on. Trilingual Service (Castellano, English, German) that was super attentive and helpful navigating food intolerances and allergies. Huge recommendation, I hope to return with some basic Catalan and fluent Castellano skills soon - just to honor the impeccable dishes offered here.

It was hard to have my order taken here. Even though I was trying to make eye contact with the female waitress and smiling when I did, she was rude to me and told me to relax, went away a bit and then finally came to the table with a cold demeanor. I know it’s Berlin and people are standoffish, but this was definitely rude service.

I think it's over exaggerated. If you have not tried vegan restaurants before, you may think that they offer very good food. Additionally, if you experience Spanish cuisine in different places, you may find that there are many more vegan options. Table reservations are made on an hourly basis. However, this information is not stated either at the time of booking or on the business's website. When the last glass sold to you after the meal arrives, you are told to get up as soon as possible. Naturally, you think that they have just brought you a drink, just finish it and get up. Then, in the corner of the bar, the person whose job you think is doing this stares at you and doesn't take it off until you get up. It's a pretty disturbing attitude. If you are making a timed reservation, please provide this information either at the time of reservation or before taking their order. It's not very ethical to put their order in front of them and say you have to get up soon. Even if you have the best menu in the world (which you don't), you will not be successful if you present your presentation thinking that your customers need you.

Our visit to this cozy restaurant with vegan tapas started promisingly. The selection of creative dishes aroused curiosity, and the carrot salmon in particular impressed us with its taste. Unfortunately, the Romana hearts, for example, couldn't keep up and left us rather disappointed. Nevertheless, it initially seemed to be a nice evening. However, the reservation situation was a major drawback. We had reserved a table in advance and enjoyed our meal and a glass of wine. But after about 1 hour and 40 minutes we were told that our table would be taken again in 20 minutes. It may be common practice for reservations to be limited in time, but we were not informed of this. This led to an extremely unpleasant feeling, because barely 18 minutes later - my wine glass was not yet empty - the bill arrived. A few minutes later we were put under additional pressure with evil looks from the bar. What was particularly irritating was that during our hasty farewell, our table was not cleared and no new guests were seated. At the same time, other guests left the restaurant without any apparent time pressure. A neighboring table with a group that had arrived before us even remained seated. This reinforced the impression that we were being arbitrarily forced to leave. Without this unpleasant experience, we would certainly have spent another hour, ordered dessert and coffee and ended the evening in a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, there was a bitter aftertaste that overshadowed the positive impression of the meal.

The food is just excellent. The menu changes quite often which allows to discover different tastes. Recommend !

Cosy Tapas Restaurant with funky interior design. Celebrated my birthday there with a group of 10 and everyone felt welcome. We enjoyed Patatas Bravas with a delicious homemade garlic and chili sauce. My favorite dish in Berlin. You can definitely order anything from the menu. It’s also all vegan. Yummy!

An alternative and diverse Tapas bar if there ever was one, I think that of all the vegan places where I have eaten, the one that... The tapas were very delicious, I still remember the aioli sauce for the patatas bravas, I would like to return to taste them again and have them make gluten-free croquettes, although I don't like the area that much, to be honest. The waitress was attentive and the atmosphere very cool.

I unfortunately had a horrible experience here. They refused to let me present a slice of our vegan birthday cake to my friend even though they had no cake on the menu (we paid €100+ from their restaurant and I offered to pay €20 just so we could give our friend her surprise birthday cake, her favourite one). To make matters worse, the rude waiter came over to the table to say they could put the cake in the fridge in front of the birthday girl to completely ruin the surprise (he was told it was a secret 30 seconds before this, as most birthday cakes are). When we were leaving 2 hours later, they said actually we could stay and have the cake because they wanted us to buy an extra round of drinks! Unbelievably rude and would not recommend it to anyone! My first bad review I ever wrote for a restaurant.

Always crowded, make sure to reserve

The food and drinks are fantastic here. The atmosphere is great, the service is friendly and you definitely feel comfortable. The prices are not cheap but not too expensive either. Definitely worth a visit. It is advisable to reserve in advance, especially if you come as a group. Everything is vegan :)

Alright, let me write a review. It’s a very warm, still very professional atmosphere. Waiters own their space but invite you in. Food is off the hook. It’s proper Michelin business in terms of creativity and out of the box’ness. It’s political and at the same time VERY friendly. Quality and vision are beyond everything else in Berlin. And it’s very Neukölln in terms of quirk and queer and price. You really take the crown for being the best of many worlds!

The food was okay, but not outstanding. Service could be a bit quicker given the manageable size of the Kaden. But above all, nicer. Employees seem listless and bitchy.

I have been to Alaska bar a few times already and I have been enjoying the quality of the food there. Last night went back there with friends. Food was still good, however have to say I was disappointed by the service and the behaviour of some of the employees there. Apparently they were short on staff last night, however after having to wait for our patatas bravas for around 30 minutes , we were confronted by the rude behaviour of one of the staff giving us examples of how Germans and Spanish ppl are different!! I didn't find this comment appropriate and would rather have received a sympathetic apology! We were all there to have a good time and such unnecessary behaviour can simply ruin an otherwise nice night.

Very high quality food and drinks and super cozy atmosphere. If you are in the mood for tapas and drinks then Alaska Bar is definitely the place to go. Also very helpful and friendly staff.

Here you will find a great selection of vegan dishes, which you wouldn't expect at first glance. We had “cod” and “foi gras” which were super tasty. The service is top and characterized by warmth. The restaurant is also worth a visit for non-vegans!

Super cool location with great vegan food. Recommend the salmon bread. Negatively, the table could only be reserved for 2 hours on Saturday. We wanted to drink another bottle or two of the very good Rose. Then we did it somewhere else.

We loved the food, drinks, and décor. Despite the place being crowded, the seating was surprisingly comfortable. It was a bit challenging to get the servers’ attention since they were quite busy, but once we did, they were friendly and helpful. We also appreciated how welcoming both the staff and other customers were to our dog. Our only issue was the noise level—the atmosphere was charming and intimate, but the music, along with the loud conversations, made it overwhelmingly noisy.

10/10! Each of the dishes we ordered was extremely tasty and although we were pretty full towards the end (ordered a little too much, oops :D), there was nothing left. The drinks were also great, had a wine and a mocktail. The price is right and the store is coolly decorated, there is a lot to discover :) and everything vegan, best!!

Great vegan selection, cozy atmosphere and great vibe! However, the price-performance ratio is not quite right. The food is good, but average, often too sweet (I usually love sweet-salty combinations) and you actually have to order at least three tapas per person to fill you up, which then ends up costing at least €25 + drinks . It's hardly worth it. The service is also rather mediocre: we had to wait quite a long time for our food and chase the bill. It was a great evening because of the great atmosphere, but we probably won't be back.

I had an unfortunate experience. This will be my only time coming to this place. While I understand that the bar is trendy and has a specific way of managing the space, I have two suggestions: 1) It would be better not to offer reservations, as this would save your clients and staff from an unpleasant exchange. 2) Alternatively, if reservations are offered, be very explicit about the waiting timeframe for people to arrive and clearly state your policy regarding groups allowed inside the bar. It's not fair to say it's okay and then complain to the person celebrating — there's no need to ruin someone's night. Also, being passive-aggressive makes your clients feel unwelcome. Despite everything, we did stay for a couple of hours but decided to go to another bar.

Worst service ever! These people are so arrogant, they make you feel bad because they have to serve you. Waited half an hour to order something, no one cares if you re hungry or not. When you complain, they tell you if you want you can leave, so rude! Also super expensive. I was there with some friends the other day and tbh it was a mistake. This place doesnt deserve to be famous. 👎🏼😒

Hip spot and always packed. I'm not sure where the hype comes from though, I think the food is nothing extraordinary but very expensive for what it is. Service is friendly and attentive and the interior is nicely decorated. I probably would not come back though simply because no matter if you are looking for something purely vegan or not, there are many other places in Berlin that I think offer better food.

I’ve been in Berlin for five days. I am vegetarian and my traveling companion is vegan. Berlin offers so much and we have experienced quite a number of vegan restaurants over these days. But this place really stood out. Besides the really lovely staff that worked hard to fit us in without a reservation, the food was incredible. We had the eggplant and tahini which was perfectly melt-in-your-mouth delicious. And the watermelon dish was very good. But we were blown away by the vegan foie gras and the vegan lox on toast. The pate was made from a cashew base and was smooth and rich and all the umami you could want. The lox was made from thinly sliced roasted carrots with dill and just a little bit of seaweed to help you remember the ocean. The crowd was happy and diverse. The staff was wonderful. I can’t say enough.

Great place with a lovely atmosphere and amazing food! We're inspired to recreate the vegan foie grass and the smoked salmon in particular! The staff, however, was very slow, bit distant and sometimes forgot requests; e.g. didn't follow up on taking an order after bringing the wine menu while it wasn't that busy.

The food was mediocre borderline bad. Waiters were not attentive at all. It felt like a failed attempt of “creative” dishes manufactured by a non-chef. The hype around this place is beyond my comprehension.

The food was really nice, but the service was extremely unpolite and hostile. We almost just cancelled our reservation because we felt so incredibly unwelcome. The guy who served us inside was friendly. Unfortunately we also had to wait very long for our drinks. The staff forgot one dish, which is fine and can happen, we ordered it again even saying we thought they might have forgot. When we got the bill, the dish was on there twice, we notified them of it, and they got a bit angry at us. But the woman doing the seating, I've never been treated this poorly by someone working in hospitality. Even though the food was good, would not go again.

A friend invited us to celebrate her birthday here. Unfortunately, when we arrived there were too many of us for the reservation, which I didn't know. As I tried to find a place for myself and my partner at the table, the Spanish waitress with long brown hair and glasses attacked me with a violent temper tantrum. I've never experienced anything like that, especially not in a public space. In the crowded restaurant she shouted at me with extreme aggression and volume. At first I thought maybe she was stressed, but she wouldn't stop screaming at me and kept screaming. I have never experienced such verbal assault. I was in shock and stood there at first and didn't do anything and actually thought she would give us a seat, which of course she didn't and instead ignored us and went to serve other guests. I then left the restaurant and had to cry. Something like this has never happened to me before and I have to digest this shock first. It would have been completely okay to point out to us that we were not allowed to take free chairs from other tables and also that there was no more space and unfortunately we couldn't get a table. It's understandable that you don't always remain polite under stress. I've been living in Berlin for 10 years and I'm used to unfriendly service and it doesn't bother me. However, nothing justifies the unbridled aggression that was thrown at me here. My friend tried to talk to the waitress afterwards, whereupon she made absurd comparisons to war zones without any context. You shouldn't let a person like that loose on people in a restaurant. Afterwards we all left the restaurant and celebrated our birthday somewhere else. The fact that we were a group of PoC puts the disproportionate nature of the attack in a particularly unpleasant light.

We reserved a table for eight since we could not reserve for more people and twelve people arrived, after the hostility of the waitress we had to leave. Shouting education lessons, seeing the waitress discussing the situation with all her colleagues, disqualifications, very bad manners. It was not good to reserve for eight and be more but the way they treated us is disproportionate, we ended up crying because of the waitress's screams. I had never seen customer treatment like this, they had the power to ruin the afternoon for the birthday girls and all their friends. We didn't manage to drink anything, shouts and disqualifications made us leave sad rather than angry. It is a mistake to have more people than expected but this treatment is not justified by anything, very uncomfortable. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.

Good food, terrible service. No toilet seats or hand soap. When I mentioned this to a female staff member, she argued with me saying "this is Berlin" (I've lived here for over 8 years and only seen this in Kneipe). This left me feeling very uneasy and ruined the rest of our evening.

Not your usual experience when you think of a bar, the guest and staff develop a quick rapport, friendly and dare I say a bit intimate. let's be honest, you can drink in the park, but that's not why you go here.

Food great, but one service person was extremely hostile, we felt not welcome but tolerated, not a nice environment to have a dinner with friends, such a shame because the it looks like it's supposed to be a place where people should come together. Unfortunately the staff lost that.

Went here today for the second time because the food was so good last time and it was really great again, however we were on the verge of leaving before we even sat down because of the very unfriendly service. The person responsible for the bookings was very unfriendly and almost aggressive and this did not change over the course of the dinner. Luckily we were served by someone else later which was friendly and the food was great, but we did not feel welcome at all. Such a shame and not sure if I would come back after this.

This is the best vegan restaurant I've been to in Berlin. The staff is multi-lingual (at least English, Spanish, and German that I know of). The food and drinks are delicious - get the Patatas Bravas while you're here. So good!

The food is good, but unfortunately we were treated very unkindly. One of the waiters started an argument and became aggressive and very loud for no reason. The boss defended him by saying that they were working a lot. As the conversation continued, she had to physically hold him back and even made fun of some of us. In addition, we were treated unkindly from the start and asked to reserve in advance next time, which we did and were therefore already seated by someone else. We also had to wait a long time for food and drinks and things were almost thrown on the table. It's also very cramped and loud in the store. I've never written a bad review, but I've honestly never encountered service like this.

The stuff was very not friendly, wother ignoring us or basically throwing cutlery on the table or not even looking at us and just nodding when we asked for the bill.

Tastiest vegan tapas in town! The service is excellent (our waitress could speak Spanish, Portuguese, German and English), and they even offered some natural treats for our dog. The vegan salmon toast, the patatas bravas, and the pimientos are a must. Come if you want to have a good time :)

Small but cozy dining room, nice service, friendly for english speaking guests, and food was define definetely the high point of our visit, delicious vegan food that make non vegan people enjoy. Strongly recommend if you are in Berlin.
