Al Hamra in Berlin

Al Hamra is an extraordinary place in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg. It's rare to find a restaurant where the atmosphere, service, and cuisine blend together so perfectly. The entire team is incredibly attentive, warm, and genuine. The food is super fresh, aromatic, and absolutely delicious! The drinks also perfectly complement the concept. The music, lighting, and decor create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that beautifully reflects the character of the place. Al Hamra is a place where you immediately feel at ease and where you'll hardly want to leave. Five stars without reservation.

We've been to Al Hamra restaurant several times and have always been very satisfied. The quality of the dishes, the freshness, the selection – simply fantastic. The staff are also very friendly, the decor is lovely and cozy, and it makes you feel right at home ☺️ Thank you so much, and we look forward to many more wonderful visits!

Woooooooow. So deeply moved by this place! The food is incredible. Jus d’orange is served w ice but I don’t care. I am a fan! I have been here twice in the span of one week and our server on one of those evenings was so lovely! Can’t wait to keep coming back!

I was really excited to visit this place on our first day in Berlin, as it was highly recommended as a nice Arabic spot with shisha. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. We arrived around 4:30 PM and the restaurant was empty. I asked the staff member with long hair if they were open, and he responded sarcastically: “What do you think?” I apologized and explained that I asked because the place looked empty. When I asked where we could sit, he didn’t reply and just pointed with his hand. I also asked if they had shisha (as shown in their photos), and he responded rudely and aggressively, saying “No, there’s no shisha.” When my friend questioned his attitude, he replied: “Because I’m getting my period tomorrow.” It’s truly sad to see Arabs treating each other like this abroad. We left shocked by the disrespectful behavior.

The cocktails were excellent, as was the mezze. The halloumi and falafel are particularly recommended.

A very relaxed atmosphere with good music. The food is served all evening and is very tasty. The drinks menu is extremely extensive, and they offer homemade iced tea. There's a party cellar downstairs and plenty of restrooms, with two upstairs and some downstairs as well. Friendly service, and the food is very healthy and delicious, both tapas and main courses.

I was outside the restaurant, but didn't go in. There are political posters hanging in the window. That might seem right to some, but for me, political propaganda has no place in a restaurant.

They have a male worker with long curly hair who is an absolute disaster, yesterday he treated us like I had never nowhere experienced such inhumane behaviour. I was my friend and did not want to destroy the entire mood of coming together, I wanted to grab him at the end but he was already gone and the next person was super nice. We are meeting at place with friends for years and every time each of us leaves 70-90 euros.

Absolutely delicious and very friendly. I'm from Cologne, and every visit to Al Hamra is worth it. Thank you for the lovely hour, and the terrace is simply perfect.

Levantine restaurant, has mazze and more. In regards to the mazze that we ordered, the hummus was mediocre, but the portion was rather small, same goes for the falafel. The Kofta was actually a decent size and tasted good. The prices of the place were reasonable generally, just found some of the mazze to be tiny. Bread was cold. Our waiter was really odd, and was invading people's private space, he would get up and close, and was unprofessional. Unusual for arabic restaurants. The outdoor seating is nice.

Hmm, everyone is so enthusiastic. I found the food rather lacking in love. The kufta (pressed meat) wasn't freshly made. The cold little potatoes were practically inedible, and the salad was run-of-the-mill. We'll try it again, though.

The atmosphere is really cozy. Since we tried the lemonade (with mint and ginger), we haven't drunk anything else here. It's the best lemonade I've had in Berlin. The food is also delicious. We had hummus, baba ganoush, nakanek, and wraps. Everything tastes so good 😍

The food was delicious as always – fresh ingredients and a variety of dishes. I love the homemade hummus and baba ghanoush. The decor, with rustic wooden furniture and warm lighting, creates a welcoming and cozy atmosphere. The service was friendly and uncomplicated. An ideal place for a cozy meal with friends or family.

To explain. Middle eastern food is to Germans what Indian food is to Brits and Mexican food to Americans. And this Palestinian food / pub is great. Lovely tables outside in a beautiful part of Berlin. The falafel is homemade, the babaganoush is great. Mezze was all great actually. (Edited after Al hamra’s correction 🙂)

The food and the ambiance are actually very nice. However, the staff wears symbols that deny Israel's right to exist. T-shirts, necklaces, and pendants depicting the region of Palestine, where Israel, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip are located—that is, the region between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River, from the sea to the river, but without Israel. Solidarity with the oppressed is one thing; the conscious or unconscious spread of genocidal ideology is another. Hopefully, they're losing customers because of their attitude. It would be sad if people with such a worldview could make money in the middle of Berlin...

Good food, but the prices are massively inflated.

The food (Al Hamra plate) was very good and arrived quickly. The service was very friendly, and the ambiance was cozy (several sofas and armchairs). We were there in the afternoon, when it wasn't as busy.

I can recommend the scrambled eggs with halloumi and mint. The waitress was super friendly.

A great location - cozy, rather rustic atmosphere, with comfortable sofas at various seating areas. There is a lot of vegetarian food, sometimes spicier here and there. The grape leaves were excellent and so was the salad, very fresh. There are also vegan dishes and meat dishes that are designated as vegetarian. Anyway, we liked it.

We had a hookah here. Service was friendly and fast, the hookah was good. Thank you!

My husband surprised me with what he calls an insider tip. We came into a cozy shop with a pleasant atmosphere. We were greeted warmly and served quickly. I was really pleasantly surprised by the food and everything was very tasty. Until then, I had never experienced authentic Arabic cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere like this. Many thanks to the nice staff and greetings to the kitchen. We'd love to come back.

Very cozy shop! Well suited whether you just want to go for a drink or want to eat properly! The price-performance ratio was good and the food was delicious! The only point of criticism is that the juices were very diluted with water and therefore didn't taste that good for the price.

Really good restaurant with exciting dishes and very friendly service. We went there with a group of 5 people and had an early dinner. The waiters were super friendly, the food selection was good and overall a pleasant location. The drinks and food were very tasty. We shared one of the large platters as a starter and then each had a main course. The portion of the main course seemed a bit small at first, but I quickly realized that that was wrong. Absolutely good value for money, would definitely come again.

Very comfortably furnished Palestinian restaurant. Both food and drinks were great. The service was super nice! We almost walked past it and are glad we went in! We were really very satisfied.

They treat the artists very badly. They cancelled our show at the door. The organiser didn't show up. The owner of Al Hamra was very unsympathetic to the situation. Totally unpleasant and disrespectful.

I ordered from this restaurant using uber. The food was delivered in a completely unacceptable manner. The packaging was leaking from all possible corners. If this wasn’t enough , I discovered a mosquito in my food. I am completely appalled and disgusted by the food safety and hygiene of this restaurant. If you care about your health , do not eat here.

Location is their saving grace with a decent drinks menu. Service is warm if absent (better to walk up to them to get things like cutlery in a timely manner, after food arrives). Local competition on hummus and flat bread left me feeling disappointed, this was notably basic.

This was a very good place, the vibe is chill, the service is nice and the waiter smiles, and the price is decent. Definitely coming back.

The food is well made, clean and tasty. The team's ineptitude is extreme. Unfortunately the staff is unhelpful: from keeping glasses on the empty tables, no cutlery or napkins visible, neglecting to start forgetting and then saying "there is no beer" after waiting. But this beer was still in the bill at the end! such a disaster of service. As a visitor you cannot relax. The team's ineptitude is extreme. English: you cannot chill here because the service staff makes everything difficult, you may need basics to eat and you can wait long for a simple beer that will never come but still will be on your check to pay. I do not recommend the place. The food was great, but you can find middle east great Syrian, Lebanese food all over Berlin, so I would neither stick to this place for it.

I loved this place. It was some of the best hummus I’ve had. The environment is a beautiful welcoming environment with amazing decor. There were people of all nationalities ages and cultures here and the food was perfect for what I needed at the time. I had a great pomegranate salad and a chicken and rice dish that was beautiful.

Their bar service is extremely poor especially on a day where it's crowded. I asked for Hendrick's gin which is naturally more expensive than the normal one, but the bar back asked the bartender for any sort of Gin, so i had to point out what i ordered. Otherwise the atmosphere and food is fine

Die Boys hinter der Bar sind der absolute Knaller. Sie verstehen ihr Handwerk. Ihre Leidenschaft schmeckt man in jedem Drink.
