The rooms clean and tidy. It has everything you need. I love the idea of ​​the bag filled with towels and a bathrobe. You can take these with you to the wellness area. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food was great. There is a large and varied buffet for breakfast. The selection of cakes at coffee time is also huge. And for dinner there is a 3-course menu, with various choices - starter soup or salad, main course meat, fish or vegetarian. The wellness area is also great, the heated outdoor pool is particularly popular. The massages are carried out very professionally. We have been to this hotel several times and have always been thrilled. The only thing that bothered us this time was that it was very crowded. It was completely booked, which you could tell - it was always full. What you would also like is a small evening program such as a live band.

It's really nice here, the food is great, there's a lot of choice for breakfast and cake in the afternoon😊and the massage and pool are really good. Please just one more fee in front of the window and everything will be perfect.

In a good mood and very well looked after by a nice young lady in the bowling bar, we spent 2 hours in the bowling alley from 3.30 p.m. At 5:30 p.m. an early dinner was already booked in the restaurant. We were led to a room by a gentleman in a bad mood, which was nicely furnished but lacked any ambience. When we arrived there, we were greeted by Mrs. Schewe, who unfortunately couldn't handle requests for some music and a wardrobe. Were we too early? We stood there as if we had been “ordered and not picked up” in a cold, dead room. The assigned table was set far too tightly, and here too we asked for it to be loosened, which was initially rejected, as the guests would otherwise sit like that. This attitude alone is incredible! Whatever else is the case cannot be changed. Craziness! Welcome to 2024! After our cheerful inquiries, people obviously rolled their eyes and loudly announced to other employees how unfriendly we were. We can guarantee that we were not unfriendly in any way and only politely asked legitimate questions. Since the radio would probably “scratch”, it was put on display. Makes you wonder why you even play the radio in a restaurant where the average price of a main course is the same as the price of a main course in a 1-star restaurant? The first beer was served sour and had to be exchanged. Well, after we made the choice of food and endured a few more rude comments from Mrs. Schewe and we continued to sit on the benches and chairs with crumpled jackets, the food came relatively quickly. Too fast. That's exactly how it was. Some of the side dishes were cold, the sauces seemed to have been mixed from bags, the deer medallions were grilled into flat mini-steaks and in general not even the dumplings were tasty, they tasted like old croutons. Hard to find in Thuringia. We were asked snidely what the food was like and were not given any time to say anything about it. We quickly asked for coffee/tea again and left our table again. Wardrobe? What have we done to the good Mrs. Schewe? Seriously, I haven't been presented with such unprofessional behavior in ages. I have been working in the international hotel industry in the 5-star sector for 30 years and I know how important employee motivation is. Only a few seemed motivated here. That was definitely noticeable. Ms. Schewe was definitely not motivated to work in the restaurant on Saturday. In town, the hotel with the Henneberger Haus restaurant is known as the “best address in the area”. Probably just because of the totally exorbitant prices. It is precisely these prices that lead to enormous expectations, which are absolutely not met here. The quality of the food in our case was subpar. The service in the restaurant was absolutely unacceptable. The food offering in an Aktiv & Vital Hotel is questionable, with only a vegetarian/vegan vegetable curry for 20 EUR, a soup and a leaf salad for 11 EUR on the menu. Zero ambience, simply no interest in entertaining the guests with a good feeling and, even after a few operational teething problems, letting them leave with a good feeling. If you read the negative reviews and the management/owners' responses to them, you actually already know what to expect. Personally, I expect zero response and zero explanation or blame to this review. We wish Ms. Schewe a better time and hope that the management will think about how to motivate the staff a little more. Maybe it makes sense to visit other locations yourself (perhaps as a team outing) to experience what the competitors are doing for staff and guests. Maybe outside of Schmalkalden!? Be sure to take the chefs with you! It's really not that hard! All the best!

The hotel is in a quiet location. We were there to spend a wellness holiday and were absolutely satisfied with the treatments and the SPA area. We will certainly come back.

The hotel is located in the middle of the Thuringian Forest, hiking trails start right from the hotel and are also easy to cycle. In the hotel itself there is a very nice sauna area, indoor and outdoor pool and very modern and lovingly furnished. Breakfast very tasty and extensive. Coffee and cake were delicious and the 4-course menu was highly recommended. The employees are very polite and courteous, are very competent when it comes to questions about excursions and have good insider knowledge. All in all, the hotel is highly recommended.

We had a very nice week as part of the "pampering time for two" with great and very tasty half board, lots of relaxation and wellness (great outdoor pool, excellent saunas and steam bath) and a quiet location. A nice hotel, rooms (especially the bathroom) are slightly outdated, but absolutely okay and many amenities (e.g. cake buffet in the afternoon :-). A car is recommended, as in addition to the hikes you can also visit the beautiful area of ​​the Thuringian Forest including the Rennsteig directly from the hotel. We can only say that we are completely satisfied 😍🥰 Fantastic pool and wellness area and the staff was very friendly and accommodating at all times 😍 The evening meal was absolutely delicious and the breakfast had everything your heart could desire 👍🏻✌🏻👌🏻

Very nice staff at the reception and also in the restaurant. Questions and requests are responded to immediately. The location is idyllically located, alone on a hill in the middle of the Thuringian Forest. You can start hiking straight from the hotel. The food is very tasty and regional. The wellness area is great, the pool with sauna and outdoor area are clean and invite you to relax. Castles and beautiful Thuringian old towns can be visited nearby. We'll definitely come back.

It could have been really relaxing, unfortunately my room was above the smoking area, which was unbearable in the evenings, and people also smoked on the other side of the window near the restaurant. Unfortunately, it had nothing to do with vitality and relaxation. Pool was good.

After staying at the hotel several times, we can say that we were always very satisfied. This time it was a little different. But only the room. We had a vitality room!!!!! You have to be that too. There was about 30 cm of space on the sides to get into bed. The toilet was for kindergarten. Seat height estimated based on the tiles is under 30 cm. The entrance to the shower was very high. So nothing for older people!!!! What was also very unpleasant in room 109 was the employee's smoking island right under the window. Since it was very warm we had the window open. Otherwise very satisfied again. The food was great. The service, whether in the evening in the restaurant or in the morning at breakfast, is simply top notch. We are absolutely thrilled with how beautiful the sauna and wellness, outdoor area including swimming pool has become. In the evening there was a campfire with stick bread. We were able to rent bikes during the day. The staff, all-round service and the food was great👍delicious. The location in the middle of the Thuringian Forest is brilliant. The spa hotel where I recently enjoyed my stay exceeded my expectations in every way. From the start I felt welcome and relaxed. The welcome was warm and all the staff exuded professionalism. The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept deeply and restfully. The highlight of my stay was of course the spa. The facilities were relaxing and the selection of treatments was impressive. The hotel also has excellent gastronomy. The restaurant offered an exquisite selection of dishes that were impressive both in terms of taste and appearance. The wine list was extensive and complemented the meals perfectly. The location of the spa hotel was ideal for exploring the surrounding nature. Walks in the picturesque surroundings were a real joy. We had 2 wonderful, relaxing days in the hotel. It's rare to have so much peace and quiet. Plus the friendliness of everyone and super delicious gastronomy. The grill buffet in particular was great! Only suggestion for improvement. Our room was extremely hot due to the heat, so we had to leave the window open at night, but we had endless mosquitoes. These could probably have been prevented with a fly screen. We'll definitely be back next year and maybe we'll be surprised ;) We are happy!

We received a voucher for our golden wedding anniversary. I was pleased to receive professional advice from Ms. Bank (reception). You can feel very comfortable here and the entire team is very attentive and accommodating. The full body massages and foot reflexology massages were very good (thanks to Mr. Trieschmann). The hotel is located in the middle of the forest, our room was very large, comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was ok, but could be improved, everything was a bit cramped and the offer was limited. The plastic containers lined with paper and fried/scrambled eggs on top were not very appetizing. The baked rolls weren't good either. The 3-course menu in the evening was very good, the only drawback is the selectable time slot for dinner, which is stressful. The wellness area is in top condition and everything is immaculately clean. The entire hotel team is super nice and attentive.

We had booked a short stay (pure romance) on the occasion of our wedding anniversary. We felt very comfortable here from the first to the last minute, warm welcome, beautifully decorated room (thanks Franzi), coffee and cake, a round of bowling, beautifully decorated table for dinner with very good and plentiful food, then a fantastic sunset the swing and another delicious cocktail. The next morning we had a great breakfast in the sunshine on the terrace (cool, you can cook your own eggs). As friendly as we were greeted, we were also said goodbye, all in all a wonderful few hours. In a women's group we travel together for a weekend every year. We are very enthusiastic about the Aktiv- und Vital Hotel in Schmalkalden and would like to recommend it to others! Positive: Extremely friendly staff, quiet location, beautiful and spacious wellness area with lots of sun loungers as well as perfect massages, delicious food in which special requirements (in our case gluten intolerance) were taken into account in an exemplary and uncomplicated manner. Negative: The beds were quite narrow and due to the location outside of town you have to rely on a car. Neither of these really bothered us. Many thanks to the team in Schmalkalden!!!

We went to this hotel for a class reunion and a few of us also stayed overnight there. I speak for everyone involved in the class reunion that the stay was really good. Restaurant review A fried trout like I've never seen before. The size was below minimum, so an angler would have had to put it back. Of course, it gets a little smaller when frying. The only question is, why was it fried until it was almost dusty? And why was the main bone removed and by whom? Plus watery potatoes that have never seen parsley, apparently chemically peeled? The whole thing for €25.90. In any case, we'll eat the next real trout again in Reinhardsbrunn. That was no achievement!!!

My husband booked the Accent Rose Days for my birthday and we were more than thrilled. From the lovingly decorated deluxe room with a beautiful bouquet of roses, champagne and sweet presents to the candlelight dinner, relaxing at the indoor and outdoor pool and much more, everything was simply perfect. Pampering vacation.....we booked the hotel for a week's wellness vacation. A nice hotel in itself, located in the middle of the Thuringian Forest. It is located outside the town and can only be reached by car. If you are good on foot, you can also walk the almost 3km. Overall we were satisfied, although there were small things to complain about with the service staff. There was a lack of toilet paper or fresh towels, but that was fixed immediately. What bothered us was that the bathroom wasn't cleaned once in 5 days, even though it was supposed to be cleaned every 2 days. Well, as I said... little things. Otherwise very nice staff, great wellness offers, which were also carried out very well. The swimming pool and sauna areas are great. We relaxed and enjoyed the time.

Very well maintained 4 star hotel. I was accommodated in the single room on floor 4. Great view, especially at sunrise with wafts of fog. Very clean, everything was available from a shoehorn to a bottle of water. The staff was really nice and you had the feeling of being “welcome”. (whether it's housekeeping boss Beate, reception Fr.Bank...) The breakfast is rich and I think there is something for everyone. Dinner was prepared smaller on request. ( Half portion) . I used the wellness area, the pool is heated 😍 the massages from various staff were absolutely flawless and very relaxing. Thanks again. auch hier möchten wir uns noch mal ganz herzlich bei dem gesamten Team bedanken...das Hotel ist sehr schön auch wenn dort das Wetter wie bei uns nicht so schön ist...man kann das Schwimmbad außen und innen gut nutzen ( sehr sauber)wie die gesamte Wellness Anlage...das Personal sowie der gesamte Service alles super...man hat immer ein offenes Ohr um die Wünsche zu erfüllen...alles im allem super das Hotel ist sehr zu empfehlen...wir die Familie Opitz kommen gerne wieder...wir wünschen dem gesamten Team einen guten Rutsch und ein gutes, gesundes neues Jahr...macht weiter so....🙋‍♂️

Man haben die uns verwöhnt. Und nett sind sie auch noch! Obwohl Dauerregen und starker Wind eine feine Zeit gehabt. Der Badebereich mit Sauna und und und...toll gepflegt und eeeeentspannend. Mein Favorit war der Außenpool. Einfach toll. Kochen können sie dort auch. Obwohl das Restaurant über die Feiertage brechend voll war, sind wir hervorragend versorgt worden. Wichtig: absolut Hundefreundlich! Hervorragende Lage in schöner Landschaft. Danke nochmals.

Dieses Hotel kann man nur empfehlen es befindet sich in einer wunderschönen Landschaft im Thüringer Wald. Es ist auch sehr schön als Wellness Wochenende geeignet. Große Sauna Landschaft, mehrere Ruheräume. Zuvorkommendes Personal alle sehr freundlich. Definitiv Wiederholungstäter :)

Vorweg, die Stornierungsgebühren wurden mir erst im Nachgang recht bewusst. Wir hatten bei Vita eine Einladung erhalten und wenige Tage vor unserem Aufenthalt im Hotel ein Zimmer für 2 Nächte gebucht. Leider bekam ich 2 Uhr morgens am Anreisetag Vorhofflimmern und kam direkt ins Krankenhaus. Mein Mann rief im Hotel an und sagte Bescheid. Wie gesagt - nur wenige Tage zuvor gebucht. Die Stornierungsrechnung belief sich dann auf 80% des Preises. über 400,00 €. Ich weiß, dass die AGB entsprechend sind, welche ich erst mit der Bestätigungsmail erhielt. Wer also möglicherweise nicht die Finanziellen Möglichkeiten hat für mögliche plötzliche Einschränkungen viel Geld zu bezahlen, folgender Tip: schließen Sie bei der Versicherung Ihres Vertrauens eine Reiserücktrittversicherung ab oder buchen Sie ein anderes Hotel. Natürlich bin ich enttäuscht, da es bei mir tatsächlich nicht nur "Husten" gewesen ist, 30%-50% hätte ich als nette Geste empfunden.

Hallo😊 Mein Freund und ich waren mit dem Saunaführer unterwegs und waren im Akzent,Aktiv und Vital Hotel in Schmalkalden im Thüringer Wald😊 Wir waren vom 5-7.11.23 in diesem Hotel,ein Ort der ruhe und besinnlichkeit für Menschen,die für eine weile aus dem Immerwärenden Stress des alltages aussteigen wollen und wenn es nur für ein paar Tage ist🌄 Das Hotel ist sehr abgelegen und ruhig und sehr sauber,das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und das Frühstücksbuffet ist sehr umfangreich,das Abendessen findet im Hotel im Restaurant statt und hat eine gehobene Küche 👍 Im Wellnessbereich gibt es zwei Schwimmbecken (eins draußen,eins drin), Ruheräume,eine Saunalandschaft(innen und außen) und man kann vor Ort Massagen von geschultem Personal genießen(sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend,gegen aufpreis)👍 Das Hotel bietet eine menge Freizeitaktivitäten an und vorm Hotel führen gleich die ersten Wanderwege in den schönen Thüringer Wald 😊 Wir waren sehr begeistert und sind mit einem lachenden und weinenden Auge wieder nach Hause gefahren,wir würden dieses Hotel jederzeit weiter empfehlen und wir wollen dieses Hotel wieder besuchen 👍

Wir hatten ein wunderschönes Freundinnen Wellness Wochenende. Ein sehr nettes Personal, leckeres Essen, das Zimmer richtig gemütlich und sauber. Die Massagen sind auch ein Traum. Leider war nur der Pool kalt, seit Freitag, wir waren ungern im Wasser 😂. Mir persönlich hat für ein 4 Sterne Hotel, Birchler Müsli beim Frühstück gefehlt, was ich auch etwas schade finde, dass keine Fitnessgeräte vorhanden sind. Sonst ein ausgezeichnetes Hotel.

Im großen und ganzen waren wir sehr zufrieden, alles sehr sauber, Service war freundlich und das Essen war toll Der einzige Wermutstropfen war das Zimmer, bzw die Lage des Zimmers(wir hatten extra das Deluxe Doppelzimmer gebucht) Da zahlt man viel Geld für ein besonderes Zimmer - welches dann direkt über der Bowlingbahn lag. Sehr ärgerlich, ich hätte mir etwas mehr als 10 Euro Rabatt gewünscht

Das Hotel liegt, abseits des Troubel, auf einer Anhöhe. Bei gutem Wetter ist ein tolles Panorama garantiert. Am Hotel gibt es ausreichend Parkplätze, nicht alle Parkbereiche sind befestigt. Die Außenanlagen sind gepflegt, wirken einladend. Das Gefühl setzt sich drinnen fort. Alles wirkt sauber und gepflegt. Der Empfang ist freundlich, alles wird verständlich erklärt. Die Lobby ist nicht besonders groß aber gemütlich. Die Deluxe-Doppelzimmer befinden sich alle EG. Die Zimmer sind groß und ansprechend ausgestattet. Durch zwei große Fenster kommt viel Licht in Zimmer. Neben dem Doppelbett gibt es zwei Cocktsilsessel sowie einen Relaxsessel und einen Polsterhocker. Zur Ausstattung gehört weiterhin ein LCD-TV, ein Elektrokamin, Telefon, eine Minibar, eine Kapselkaffeemaschine, ein Safe, Kleiderschrank und Garderobe. Das Bad ist recht klein und ohne Fenster. Waschbecken, Dusche und WC sind vorhanden. Alles ist sehr sauber und gepflegt. Im Kellerbereich befindet sich der Pool- und Wellnessbereich, ebenfalls sauber und gepflegt. Bademäntel und Handtücher, für den Wellnessbereich, stehen im Zimmer zur Verfügung. Im Rahmen der Verwöhnpsuschale ist die Nutzung der Pool- und Wellnesslandschaft inklusive. Ebenso wie Frühstück, Kaffee/ Kuchen und Dreigang-Abendessen. Wer mag, kann auch "a la Card" essen. Die Zimmer werden jeden zweiten Tag gereinigt, was völlig ausreicht. Insgesamt ist das Personal richtig freundlich und aufmerksam ohne aufdringlich zu wirken, was sehr angenehm ist. Wer mal drei, vier Tage die Seele baumeln lassen möchte, ist hier gut aufgehoben. Ggf. auch für Motorradfahrer ein lohnendes Ziel. Im Umkreis gibt es schön kurvige Strecken mit tollen Panoramen. Nachtrag: Das Personal ist nicht nur freundlich und aufmerksam sondern auch sehr ehrlich. Meine in einem Bademantel vergessene Halskette wurde von der Reinigungskraft gefunden und gemeldet. Ich liebe dieses Hotel. War schon das 2. Mal hier und es wird nicht das letzte Mal gewesen sein. Wir waren 6 Mädels und es war einfach nur Traumhaft. Der Wellnessbereich, Sauna, Massagen, einfach Entspannung pur.

Wir hatten dieses Hotel gebucht, um im Thüringer Wald wandern zu gehen und wir unseren Hund mitnehmen konnten. Leider wurde uns das Zimmer 224 zugewiesen, welches sehr dunkel und teilweise mit kaputten billigen Möbeln ausgestattet war. Wir haben bewusst in der günstigsten Kategorie gebucht, weil wir viel unterwegs sein wollten. Jedoch hätte ich nie gedacht, dass es in einem 4* Haus Zimmer dieser Art gibt bzw. zugelassen sind. Da wird man kein zweites Mal buchen. Insgesamt fehlte mir im Hotel die Gemütlichkeit. Der Wellness Bereich und der Innen- und Außenpool absolut top. Frühstück ebenfalls. Im Eingangsbereich des Hotels waren Sitzmöglichkeiten, auch für abends. Getränke wurden in der Küche zubereitet. Hervorzuheben ist das freundliche Personal.

Wir waren nur im Restaurant daher kann ich über das Hotel nichts schreiben. Die Begrüßung durch den Service war sehr freundlich. Der Tisch war ansprechend gedeckt. Wir saßen in dem Wintergarten mit Aussicht auf den Thüringer Wald. Einfach wunderschön, das Wetter war passend sonnig. Die Bedienung hat uns seht gut beraten, was die Getränke und das Essen anging. Ich hatte den Sauerbraten. Leider hat mich das Essen nicht vom Hocker gehauen. Ich erwarte da für über 20 Euro pro Portion schon eine andere Qualität. Der Braten war lauwarm und schmeckte nichts sagend. Auch das Rotkraut war nur lauwarm und kaum gewürzt. Die Klöße waren ganz Gewöhnliche, wie ich sie in Tüten bei Edeka und Co. erwerben kann. Alles in allem hätte ich da mehr erwartet.

Sehr freundliche , zuvorkommende Mitarbeiter in allen Bereichen und sehr guter Service. Schöner Wellnessbereich. Ruhige Atmosphäre im ganzen Haus. Viele Aktivitäten möglich. Für jeden etwas dabei. Essen war auch einwandfrei.

Diese Unterkunft wird meiner Auffassung nach einem 4-Sterne Niveau nicht gerecht. Die Duschwand im Zimmer war defekt, die Spa-Anwendungen qualitativ enttäuschend und die Qualität und Auswahl des Frühstücks zu dürftig für den Preis. Der Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption beim Einchecken war auch nicht sonderlich hilfreich und proaktiv. Die vegetarischen Optionen vom Essen waren limitiert - Alternativen wurden nicht angeboten und einmal wurde mein Essen kalt serviert. Schade - alles in allem war ich sehr enttäuscht.

Sauberes, etwas abgelegenes Hotel oben auf einem Berg. Total ruhige Umgebung, einziger Verkehr: die Hotelgäste! Bietet sehr Vieles: Pool, Wellness, Tennis, etc etc. Empfehlenswert.

Sehr ruhige Lage (außerhalb der Stadt) mit schöner Aussicht, aber nur per Auto zu erreichen. Freundliche, hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter. Gute Küche, wirklich gutes Frühstück. Zimmerausstattung ist gut. Abendliche Runde am Lagerfeuer ist eine schöne Idee, könnte aber durch Windlichter, Fackeln, Lichterketten in den Bäumen und passende Musik noch einladender und stimmungsvoller werden.

Zum Entspannen sehr gut geeignet. Vormittags ein bissl wandern oder radeln... dann ab 16:00 in die Sauna und Abends zum Essen ins zugehörige Lokal. Morgens ordentlich Frühstück. Pool innen und außen auch gut zum relaxen. Kleine Verbesserungspunkte findet jeder... aber der Service ist nett und sehr bemüht. Guter Startpunkt für Bike-Tour. War schön und erholsam. Macht weiter so.

Sehr sehr freundliches Personal und überhaupt alle sehr sehr freundlich. Sehr gute Beratung. Es werden auf die Wünsche der Gäste geachtet und es werden Empfehlungen angeboten. Das Essen ist 1A Klasse. Ich kann es jedem nur empfehlen als Geschenk oder einen Aufenthalt zu zweit.

Alles sehr schön und familiär, hier kann man sich gut erholen! Essen lecker und das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend!

Sehr guter und schneller Service, jedoch nach einer Fahrrad Tour wäre etwas erfrischendes zu trinken wie ein Smoothie oder eine selbstgemachte Limonade schön. Vor allem bei einem Aktiv & Vital Hotel. Geworben wird hier mit Eis und Alkohol.
