Akropolis Restaurant in Schöningen

This was my first time at Akropolis in Schöningen, and I was immediately impressed. The buffet is constantly replenished with fresh ingredients, ensuring a fantastic selection is always available. The taste and freshness are absolutely top-notch – you can tell right away that they place great emphasis on quality. As someone who loves liver, my visit was a real treat. The liver was tender, flavorful, and perfectly prepared – exactly how I like it. Overall, my first visit was a complete success, and I can highly recommend Akropolis to anyone who appreciates good Greek cuisine and a fresh, diverse buffet.

Delicious! We were there on November 14, 2025, with 13 people for a birthday party and enjoyed the buffet. It was fantastic! They had everything Greek cuisine has to offer, and the food was constantly replenished. Cold buffet, hot buffet, desserts—nothing was missing. The staff was always present and extremely friendly without being intrusive. We even had a complimentary ouzo. What more could you ask for? We will definitely be back. Highly recommended!!

So, a stir-fry without fries and with bread is generally fine. But the ground beef in dish number 54 was tasteless. And then just flatbread as a side dish?!? 🥴 And in my opinion, the curtains could have been washed too.

The tomato in my salad was bad, I almost puked in the savings bank branch because you can't even pay with a card. Not to mention the hair in the gyro.

We ate in the restaurant on Friday, August 16, 24 and Saturday, August 17, 24. We had buffet. Price-performance is great. The food was very tasty and the service was simply top notch. I've eaten in many restaurants, but I've never experienced such friendly people. Simply TOP 👍👍👍 So if you're ever in Schöningen, be sure to eat there. Thank you for the lovely evenings with you. We'll definitely see each other again!

Welcome, service, farewell was very, very friendly. Regular inquiries about whether everything is okay and whether we still have any wishes. Service, I would say - very, very good. We ate buffet. Unfortunately it was disappointing as all the dishes were quite cold. Tastes good, but cold. Since I've eaten off the menu there before, I know it works differently. The space in the upper area is also not good. One less table and no one has to get up to get to the buffet or to get up in general. So really, very narrow and unfortunately not so nice overall.

Pretty unrecognizable from the outside. Inside, however, the atmosphere is quite decadent but also a bit cramped overall. Very nice staff quickly get to the "du" which for me simply improves the mood and is good. We ate from the buffet and the price was completely reasonable. The taste wasn't wow!, but it wasn't bad either. We came from Helmstedt and let's say carefully that we have comparatively better and just as good Greeks here. Anyone who lives locally can visit the restaurant with a clear conscience.

I ate a gyro plate with 1/2 souflaki, a pork roulade and tzatziki as a starter. In my opinion, the food was good to very good and therefore an essential component was fulfilled. However, the service did not meet my needs. After 15 minutes of waiting, my wheat beer was delivered after I ordered it again and I had to wait almost 10 minutes for bread for the tzatziki, as this apparently isn't standard for this starter. However, I don't like spooning tzatziki and this eating tool was not brought or placed at my table. Olive oil for the side salad, which in my opinion was relatively boring, was only brought after about 5 minutes and by then it was already eaten. According to the notice, the restaurant is desperately looking for staff and they are actually missing everywhere. The problem has at least been identified. At the next table, a small child ruined any Greek ambience while watching cartoons by making it so loud, but that's not a bad thing to blame the restaurant for, just personal bad luck. Because of the good cuisine there are still 4 stars.

There were three of us there today. The interior design is very beautiful! The service is very friendly, and the all-you-can-eat buffet was really great! We'd love to come back.

Tolles Restaurant. Gemütliches Ambiente, sauber. Sehr aufmerksames und schnelles Personal. Essen lecker und Portion ok (etwas mehr Pommes wären schön gewesen). Kritikpunkt - Tzatziki ist extra zu bestellen/zahlen (sehr lecker) - und dann aber Brot dazu auch noch einmal extra zu bestellen/zu zahlen.

Ich war mit meiner Familie dort Essen und einen großen Lob an das Restaurant. Für uns persönlich der beste Grieche in der ganzen Umgebung. Preisleistung ist Top und die Bedienung sehr zu vorkommen, sehr aufmerksam und immer ein Lächeln im Gesicht. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen.

Ich war heute mit meiner Frau hier Buffet essen gewesen, und es war wirklich sehr sehr lecker gewesen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Hier wird man wirklich geschätzt und freundlich behandelt. 😉

Dieses Restaurant ist wirklich hervorragend! Die Atmosphäre ist elegant und komfortabel, und das Personal ist schnell und freundlich. Das Essen war einfach fantastisch. Der Salat war frisch und lecker, besonders beeindruckend war, dass er ohne Dressing dank des aromatischen Krautsalats so gut schmeckte. Vor der Hauptspeise teilten wir uns einen Tzatziki, der der beste war, den ich je gegessen habe. Er war unglaublich cremig und hatte reichlich Knoblauchgeschmack. Die Hauptgerichte waren frisch, perfekt gewürzt und großzügig portioniert, und das Fleisch war von erstklassiger Qualität. Zum Abschluss gab es traditionell einen Ouzo. Diese Erfahrung hat uns positiv überrascht, und wir werden definitiv öfter hierherkommen. 10/10 weiter so!

Bestes griechisches Restaurant im Umkreis. Sehr freundliche Bedienung, sehr schmackhaftes Essen. Einen Punkt beim Service muss ich leider abziehen, da man hier ausschließlich in Bar bezahlen kann. Und leider auch einen Punkt fürs Ambiente, da hier mitunter auch einige Stellen wie zum Beispiel die Decke mal dringende Schönheitsreparaturen bräuchten. Alles in Allem bleibt es unser Grieche Nr. 1

Gutes Essen und sehr guter freundlicher Service.

Bedienung sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, dafür 1 Stern. Ein weiteren gibt es für das Lokal und die sehr geschmackvolle Einrichtung. Das Essen war leider nicht unser Geschmack. Der Beilagensalat war leider ohne ein leckeres Dressing, einfach nur Salat in Öl. Die kretanischen Kartoffeln schwammen in einer nur nach Knoblauch schmeckenden Sauce, auch fehlte die Süße. Die Portionen sind geradeso ausreichend, ein erwachsener, hungriger Mann wird aber nicht so richtig satt. Es ist so schade weil das Lokal wirklich gemütlich ist und von uns nicht weit entfernt. Irgendwann gebe ich dem Restaurant eine zweite Chance und hoffe bis dahin einfach einen schlechten Tag erwischt zu haben.

Ein sehr feines Restaurant mit sehr liebevoll eingerichteten Inventar, man fühlt sich wie in Griechenland,top Bedienung. Unser Freund aus Duisburg war begeistert,wir auch. Danke an die Inhaber! Wir kommen wieder.

Der erste Grieche wo ich weiß das es Buffet und a la Carte gibt

Nette Bedienung, das Buffet war soweit gut. Das Gyros war sehr salzig. Es ist schade für über 100 Euro gegessen und wir haben alle Gläser mit Ouzo bezahlen. An der Ostsee gleiche drei Restaurants besucht und bei allen wurde 1 bis 2 mal ausgeschenkt. * Ohne Worte *

Sehr leckeres Buffet, gute auswahl und immer genügend nachgelegt, der Zaziki ist gut und das aus Sicht eines Helmstedters der den Zaziki von Kosta gewohnt ist (Tipp: einfach mal nen Becher Aioli noch an den Zaziki machen 😉) Service auch Spitze! Sehr aufmerksam, freundlich und kundenorientiert! 🫶
