The service is very friendly and efficient. Even large groups are no problem. The food arrives promptly and is delicious. I'd gladly come again.

There's one star for the truly lovely ambiance and another for the friendliness of the waiters. Unfortunately, friendliness can't replace competence. I sat with my empty beer glass for 25 minutes. During that time, waiters walked past my table 20 times!! but none of them seemed to care. Even when the food arrived, Anestis didn't notice my glass was empty. That never used to happen to you, Anestis. Our schnitzels were definitely frozen, the side salad came with supermarket dressing, and the meat on the mixed grill was completely dry. Even the gyros was stale and didn't taste fresh. So, the ingredients used to cook the food were simply cheap, and the quality was poor. It was completely different at the other restaurant. It's a real shame, as we had very different expectations. I hope you can get these things under control...

A very nice restaurant with a modern atmosphere. The pizza is baked in a real stone oven, and the appetizers are highly recommended. The only thing missing is a few vegetarian options. We've been going there for years and are always satisfied.

A lovely atmosphere with a welcoming ambiance. The food is varied, no mini portions!!!! and above all, delicious!!! It's served quickly and hot!!! We've been coming for 30 years... 7-8 times a year and have never been disappointed. The service meets all expectations, and the friendliness is genuine and natural, not forced. Absolutely outstanding food; all the grilled dishes we had at the table were perfectly prepared and wonderfully tender. But everything was surpassed by the gyro: by far the best thing I've ever eaten in my life, it practically melted in your mouth. And the price was absolutely right. The portions were also very generous; everyone should be able to eat their fill.

As always, it was delicious, and the service was excellent. We're always happy to come back. Keep up the great food and stay loyal.

We ate here for the first time yesterday. It was delicious. The service was very friendly and helpful. The plates were very full, and leftovers were naturally packed to take home. As is often the case, the food is mostly from takeaway containers. But the price is right. A luxury chip shop, in other words. A great location, fair prices, and very tasty. We'll be back.

Very nice place! We had calamari, the lamb platter, and the lamb chops! And beef! It was delicious! There's an open terrace and a winter garden! Simply wonderful! We really enjoyed our meal, the waiters were always attentive, and we felt very comfortable!

Unfortunately, we weren't satisfied this time. (Fish platter) The zander was too dry, and the two scampi were no longer fresh. The head was lying there on the side and was gray inside, and the shell was very difficult to remove. The scampi meat was no longer crispy. The waiter said nothing and left without a word with the plates. A second waiter wanted to go to the kitchen to report our complaint, but didn't return after five minutes. He was already back working in the beer garden. It's a real shame. We had advertised this to our friends after our previous visits. We won't be back. .ö

Amazing! The food was amazing! I had the turkey hollandaise. It was a real bargain! And for starters, the baked mushrooms. A dream.

Ordered calamari with new potatoes. Absolutely greasy, deep-fried calamari and potatoes swimming in oil. Not a hint of salad. Most Greek restaurants do much better.

Here, you can enjoy Greek delicacies prepared with love. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. It's especially great to have Anestis back. He always has a kind word to say. Of course, you can also get pizza here, but we prefer the typical Greek dishes 👏👏

Very disappointed... We would have liked to have celebrated a nice birthday with 12 people. Service and kitchen overwhelmed. Despite enough staff. Food was served cold and didn't taste very good. Orders were delivered incorrectly. Some guests had to wait until the others were almost finished. No apology, food slammed on the table in an unfriendly way. Requests for a small plate for a child were ignored, and in the end, mayo and ketchup were put down from the serving plate and given to the little one in an unfriendly manner. Drinks were not taken or forgotten. There was no response to our feedback. So what was actually a lovely evening was ruined for us. We won't be coming back.

I went to the Acropolis for the first time with a friend today and I am more than satisfied. The food was delicious and the price-performance ratio was very good. Pizza is prepared in a large stone oven. Class ! The restaurant is under old management again, my friend informed me, which probably has a very positive effect on the quality.

So I think everything has slowed down a lot there. It is overpriced and the quantity has also decreased. The taste was better too! It was the last time there for me!

Been there for the first and last time after Ernesto got back. The service was great, very friendly and quick at our table. The atmosphere is also very nice. But the food was very, very modest, e.g.: schnitzel with cream sauce, 2 small thin schnitzels with a parinade that I only know from fish fingers, tough, the sauce tasted like a ready-made product, the mushrooms were just too big and too mushy, fries were not shortened and not really tasty. The whole thing was so hot that you burned your tongue. Honestly, never again.

Unfortunately, the boss is totally rude and shows little understanding or tolerance for vegetarians. I don't know what he's serving, but sometimes it's cold or just not tasty. The young waitresses were very nice and the atmosphere was nice. But don't eliminate the rest. Very unfortunate.

We were there yesterday. Everything was just perfect again. The food was very, very tasty and the portions were very large. Everything is like it was before. We were thrilled. We are happy that the “old” boss is back in the house.

After a long time back to the former "Greek from the curve" unfortunately the quality of the meat is eating away.... "Howl" me as a real T-Rex. It's a shame the schnitzel tasted and looked like a ready-made schnitzel, the breading was crumbling from the meat, the meat was very similar to a Kassler piece of toe and with senen... The gyros was just salty, no other taste..."howl" Please chef change it again.

Since the previous owner ran the restaurant again, the Akropolis has been great again! Excellent, authentic Greek cuisine, great quality and good value for money.

Seitdem das Lokal wieder vom früheren Inhaber betrieben wird, ist das Akropolis eine der Top Adressen für authentisches griechisches Essen in Wuppertal. Und das auch zu sehr fairen Preisen. Etwas außerhalb gelegen aber dafür ausreichend Parkplätze dorekt vor der Tür. Schöne Außenterasse im Sommer.

Recently back under the original management and thus again with the very good quality that one was used to at the Akropolis for many years. We are very happy and will now stop by regularly again.

Today we were surprised with a slightly different new ambience. The expansion of the wine list is completely to our liking. The starter (the gratinated sheep's cheese) is a real culinary delight. Bread and gyros again in the usual quality. Combined with the slightly different way of serving, the visit was once again a complete success. What should be highlighted is the good service with very competent recommendations.

Die Qualität hat hier enorm nachgelassen. Insgesamt waren alle vier Personen sehr enttäuscht. Im Wintergarten lagen tote Fliegen von mehreren Wochen auf den weißen Fensterbänken. Der benötigte Kindersitz klebte durch die Benutzung unserer Vorgänger. Die Sitzauflage war zerrissen. Die auf der Toilette vorhandene Wickeleinrichtung war voller Spinnweben. Wir waren schon oft in diesem Lokal, werden es aber zukünftig meiden!

We visited this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend who had eaten there a few times. The dishes are inspired by the influence of Greek cuisine and the portions are very generous and filling. I was craving fish and chose the baby calamari with triplets (mini potatoes). Unfortunately these were not naturally fried but breaded and deep fried. I actually only know fried calamari from Mediterranean cuisine as squid rings, so I was very surprised because there was nothing about this breading on the menu. As a constructive criticism, I would ask that this very important detail be noted in the menu. If I had known that the squid was breaded, I wouldn't have taken it, as this very fatty diet doesn't fit into my diet. That's why I only give 4 stars at this point. The other dishes were exactly as described on the menu and, according to our friends, were also very tasty. We would definitely recommend this restaurant as it is also good value for money. The service was very friendly and accommodating and we felt very comfortable. If we are in Wuppertal again, we will definitely come back 😊🙏🏼💖

We visited the restaurant again after a long time and were given a very friendly welcome. Our food was very tasty, price/performance was ok, but I still missed the salad, which I could order separately. Since we took our dog with us, we opted for a table in the winter garden. Very nice, but it definitely needs cleaning, e.g. Example; windows, frames,; remove old plants; paint over stains on the walls! Despite these small deficiencies, we are happy to come back 😊🐕🍻🥘😋

Was there again on a Friday evening after a long time. It was surprisingly empty. Lucky for us, because the service was very quick. The food came after an estimated 20 minutes. Very solid, not outstanding, but I'd happily go there again.

Very good offer and very nice service

We have rarely eaten so badly. Gyros was underground and unworthy of a Greek restaurant. Pieces of gyros the size of half a hand and nowhere brown roasted and dry as a shoe sole. Pizza Gyros Metaxa similar. The Metaxa sauce was a thick flour sauce where there may have been a Metaxa bottle somewhere near the kitchen. In addition, you didn't see anything from the staff for 20 minutes after the first contact. While the glasses were empty it continued like this. But there was always time to smoke in front of the door. The best thing was the large, delicious mixed salad. .Otherwise I would have given one star. You have to say that everything inside looks good and attractive, apart from the completely run-down, bolted seats, but please never sit at the tables in the middle of the aisles. Like ouzo, which is actually served before and sometimes after the meal, you wait in vain here. We will never come here again. I even advise everyone I know not to come here. No comparison to the old restaurant in the curve back then...

Although the restaurant looks nice at first glance, the completely worn out benches are surprising and uninviting. We are the first guests, but it still takes a while until someone inquires about our wishes and after a while brings us the drinks, which taste stale and pale. The cola is almost non-carbonated, tastes terrible, probably not an original, the drinks are in squishy 2 liter bottles on a counter behind the counter. I don't say anything so as not to spoil the evening for the others, but I note that those who ordered 1/2 liter haven't finished the glass even after 4 hours. Since every restaurant generates most of its income through drinks, in my opinion it is extremely unwise to save on quality here. Water comes in small glass bottles and is therefore not objectionable. Beer is ok too. Wine has a stale, indefinable quality that leaves you wanting for more. It takes forever for the food to arrive. 6 small, less than lukewarm baby calamari with 3 cold tomato wedges on a small, ice-cold black plate. Mayonnaise instead of aïoli. No decoration, no olive, no lettuce leaf. Definitely not enough for the money. Even though we all ordered together, some of us didn't get our food until others had already finished it. In the next room, guests who arrived much later have already had their food or have even finished it. Tzatziki and all sauces must be ordered separately for an additional charge. The untoasted bread, which arrives too late, only arrives when the calamari is finally cold. 10 half slices of bread for 7 guests per table. We try to order more bread, but it has become so full that the bread doesn't come until the calamari is finally cold. The gratinated sheep's cheese swims in fat, it's difficult to eat without bread, and you won't find any eye-catching decorations. No onions, no herbs. My neighbor says that despite the starter - the meatballs look like a third portion of Köttbüllar from IKEA, served in a soup bowl - he is still hungry. Djuwetreis 2 ice cream scoops small and visually unappealing. The meat is quite dry. Everything is saved: sauces, decorations, side dishes, spices... Even the typical Greek ouzo, either to bridge the long wait for food or as a nightcap - you wait in vain. Since some of us also have to drive quite a bit because the restaurant is far from the city center, this is something the drivers can bear, but it would have been a relief for me after the greasy cheese. The staff is busy, we wait forever for a smile and a return to ask if we would like something more to drink. The question of whether we enjoyed it is unnecessary. It's a shame, with a little attention to detail and, above all, quality, you could do something with the store. But if neither the quality nor the price are right and the distance is added to it, that means to me: Thanks, but that's it. The 2 stars are given very generously because the only 3 waitresses had a lot to do. Some of us have traveled very, very far for this evening and are returning home disappointed. I don't think the owner is learning anything from the comments as there have been some scathing reviews before from which no conclusions were drawn.

The food is really delicious and can't be beat. Unfortunately we waited almost 1.5 hours for our food. However, we were also there with a group of 10 people. Some of the benches are a bit worn out and don't look so great anymore, but I would still eat there again at any time and would recommend it to anyone.

This time it should be two champion schnitzels with rice. No champions to be seen on the plate, we found them under the quite hard but crispy coated schnitzels. Brilliant idea actually. The rice was not only tasteless, but at most lukewarm. If we hadn't been in a hurry, we would have complained earlier. When it came to paying you were asked if everything was good, I said no, the rice was cold. "...I'll tell the kitchen!" instead of an apology in some form (ouzo?). Thanks, that's it for now.

It was ok, unfortunately nothing more. The interior was very nice, except for the fleece blankets that were lying on the completely broken seats and would slide around when you wanted to sit down. We waited over an hour for our food. Portions were good, unfortunately a large part of the meat was far dry. And the gentleman who served us should maybe think about looking for a job that he enjoys...was very unfriendly.... What a shame...

The Akropolis is a great Greek restaurant that serves tasty dishes. There were 6 of us there and we were all completely satisfied. What we only have as a small idea is to add a dollop of tzatziki to the Acropolis platter because the dish is missing something. Otherwise we were satisfied and would like to come back

We were actually welcomed very nicely; everything seemed to fit at first glance. Ambiance is fine, deficiencies here and there could and should be remedied. Unfortunately, the food was very bad, apart from the "mushy" starters (e.g. mushrooms with spinach and cheese gratinated), the meat of everyone in the group was fried to death and not tasty at all (8 people!!!), that's not possible at all. Feedback was given, let's see if something happens, service was still nice

Essen gut, nur die Teller müssten wärmer sein.

Na ja... Wir waren 14 Leute am Abend da. Von 14 Leute, 4 Leute müssten sich beschweren weil die haben etwas falsch bekommen. Meistens würde Pommes anstatt Reis serviert, obwohl im Karte Reis steht. Essen ist gut, keine hat etwas schlechtes gesagt, ausser dass würden falsche Komponenten serviert. Meine Gyros mit Metaxasauce und Käse überbacken war Sehr Gut. Allerdings, ich habe schon fast Hälfte gegessen und dann kamm frietierte Scheibenkartoffel dazu. Es gibt 2 verschiedene Variante von Karten, mit alte und neue Preisen, und dass finde ich total unverschämt... z.B. bei Weizenbier steht 4.00€ und and der Kasse wird 4,80€ berechnet. Andere aus Team haben auch gemerkt ähnliche Fehler... Restaurant war ziemlich gut besucht, obwohl Donnerstag war. Toiletten sind momentan eine Baustelle, aber trotz allem sind sauber.

Heute wieder lecker gegessen. Seit 6 Jahren gehen wir immer wieder gerne ins Akropolis. Sehr freundliches Personal, sehr leckeres Essen, was möchte man mehr? Entspannt das Essen genießen und schöne Gespräche mit meinem Mann, immer wieder schön. Liebe Grüße an Euch von Angie und Dieter

Leckere griechische Küche zu normalen Preisen

Ein kulinarisches Erlebnis der Extraklasse! Das griechische Restaurant hat mit authentischer Küche, herzlicher Atmosphäre und aufmerksamem Service beeindruckt. Die Vielfalt der Gerichte und die Frische der Zutaten haben einen bleibenden Eindruck hinterlassen. Ein Ort, den man gerne weiterempfiehlt – fünf Sterne!

Bestenfalls Kantinenessen ... Pilze in der Sauce aus dem Glas... Saucen scheinen aus der Tüte zu stammen...dafür viel zu teuer...am Ende nicht mal einen Ouzo auf's Haus ...

Wir waren nun zum dritten Mal in diesem Restaurant und zum dritten Mal mussten wir feststellen das dass Essen wirklich richtig gut ist . Leider mussten wir aber auch zum dritten Mal feststellen das die Kellner absolut unfreundlich sind .Wegen solchem Personal mussten andere Restaurants schon schließen . Man erwartet ja keinen übermotivierten Clown aber ein Lächeln oder freundliches Wort sollte wohl machbar sein. Als Dönberger ist es sehr schade das man lieber woanders hinfährt als dort einzukehren .
