Akropolis Grill Eilendorf in Aachen

We were there for lunch and would come back. The service was very friendly and the food arrived quickly. Personally, I found it a bit too salty, but that's a matter of taste.

We always enjoy coming back to Akropolis. The food is delicious and the portions are perfectly adequate. We were there just yesterday and had gyros.

I can only agree with the recent reviews. We were seduced by the good reviews and stopped here. We actually wanted to leave after entering the store, but unfortunately, we didn't.

The food itself is good - but the opening hours on Google are never accurate. Out of 10 visits, at least 8 times you find the doors are closed and everything is dark. If I arrive at 9:15 p.m., I expect the place to still be open if Google says it's open until 10 p.m. This kind of thing is always annoying - and is a reason for me not to come back.

Shocked at what a change of operator can bring... We've always been frequent visitors to Akropolis, back when it was still with Thomas and his family. Then the new owner came along, and a large sign was put up saying that "nothing" would change. Unfortunately, after a few years, this finally happened: Although the dishes taste good, the prices have increased significantly (completely normal and understandable in these times), but with the corresponding price increase, the portion sizes also have to remain the same. We ordered various dishes today. The side salad (see photo) was only half full, and the Akropolis pocket (pizza pocket with gyro and pasta) used to be our regular dish. Therefore, we ordered it in the new "large" size. The pocket was significantly smaller than the "regular" size at the time. A phone call to the manager at the store wasn't customer-friendly. The manager told me that these were indeed the "large" Akropolis pockets—I don't want to know what the "small" size looks like. The same applies to the gyro plate, which was also "a large gyro plate" for €13.90. For people who prefer regular to larger portions, we can unfortunately no longer recommend the Akropolis Grill. We will choose the other Greek restaurant in town in the future, because "large" portions are also large there. It's a shame that things had to come to this with the Akropolis Grill.

We arrived 5 minutes after opening, and already 4 tables were occupied. Finding a parking spot along the street can be a challenge. This location has a sheltered and partially covered patio at the back. The service is friendly to everyone, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The fries are nice and yellow and dry. The gyros aren't greasy either, while the tzatziki is perfectly seasoned. In short, the dishes are carefully prepared. The included salad is a bit on the small side. The restrooms are separate, neat, and clean. We'd love to come back.

Super friendly, gyros portion more than sufficient and very tasty

I can't understand the praise for the food here! The gyro was so oversalted, it was just not good. The chef commented, "That's our special seasoning, I just had some, and I liked it." I don't care how the chef likes it; I care about how I like it. The portion left a lot to be desired for the price; I'm used to better. The lady taking my order was friendly, and so was the chef, but he was very full of himself. Conclusion: We won't be back and we won't recommend it to anyone.

After about six years, I returned to the snack bar, which I'd previously thought was good. But it was nothing: the portions were far too small for the price! The food was really spicy!

As I said to the owner of this wonderful grill, "I've never had a gyros pie like this, not even in Greece." And it was no exaggeration. Amazing! The gyros were wonderful, with the right spices, the pie was bigger than in Greece, thinner, and tasted really good. Every bite was a feast of flavors! The gyros are handmade with layers of very thin meat, 2-3 millimeters thick, which really impressed me. I believe that one of the secrets is the thickness of the meat. Beyond that, it takes a lot of love for what someone does, which, as I saw and felt, the kids put in extra effort! Well done, keep it up!

Currywurst with fries and salad. Delicious, but the curry sauce was too mild for my taste; it could have used more curry. Fresh, finely chopped salad. Owner-operated snack bar, super friendly service.

Tom has been with us in the village forever. He's just friendly, familiar and the food tastes good. Can only recommend him. I've been going to him for over 30 years. Addendum 2025 Same place. New owner. What can I say? There is nothing to complain about here either. You will always receive a friendly welcome. Even when the store is full, the staff has time for a chat. The food is consistently good. Price/performance is also right. It's still the best in town! I can only recommend a visit!

Best snack in the district. Friendly staff, good menu, delicious food, fair prices, fast. Seating available in a snack bar atmosphere. Not for business lunches, but for family, friends... The parking situation is tense, free and free for residents, but there is little capacity on the street.

I ate there today with my brother and I have to say the gyros were delicious. I will definitely come back and the service was very nice. I love you Greeks and I can only recommend it to everyone 🙏🏽

We were in Aachen for a few days. We searched on Google for a Greek location near the train station and found it here. We can only confirm the good reviews. The service was great and the food was really tasty. The ambience is simple but okay, it's a grill station and not a restaurant.

At first I was really excited, but unfortunately over time my enthusiasm gradually diminished. Something was always forgotten when ordering and the last few times the food really wasn't good. When we were asked last time whether we had made a reservation and we said no, we were politely told that we wouldn't be able to get anything. Too bad...

Warm and pleasant welcome from cheerful, smiling owners. Gyro plate 10/10, crispy fries, very tasty gyro meat, not as greasy as usual, large portions, taste just on point. Great recommendation! What I also noticed: that the owners are very attentive, for example they helped an old lady at the entrance with her walker. A snack bar with a great atmosphere. Gladly again soon!

Ein Hammer-Abend beim Akropolis Grill Imbiss! Heute war ich im Akropolis Grill Imbiss und, Leute, das war der Wahnsinn! Die Pita hat meine Geschmacksknospen in den siebten Himmel geschossen – so verdammt lecker! Aber wisst ihr, was wirklich abgefahren war? Sofia und Dino! Ihr zwei seid der Hammer! Die Freundlichkeit, die ihr an den Tag gelegt habt, hat meinen Tag gerettet. Ehrlich, Leute, solche Bedienungen findet man selten. Die Atmosphäre war auch mega gemütlich. Ich komm auf jeden Fall wieder – für die Pita und das geniale Team!

Wir waren das erste Mal dort und der Bauerngyros war erstklassik und die Bedienung hat mit Elan und Leidenschaft bedient.

Das essen ist ganz gut, der Gyros nicht so fettig, wenn man das mag ist lecker. An der Sauberkeit ist noch etwas zu arbeiten. Wenn das Gyros mit blanken fingern angefasst wird finde ich das nicht so appetitlich *war ein älterer Herr* Die Pommes sind meistens echt gut

Der beste Gyros, den die ich je gegessen habe. Super Geschmack und die Portionen sind sehr gut. Der einzige Laden, zu dem ich gehe, wenn ich gutes Gyros haben will.

Stets freundlich, besonders zu Kinder :) Essen ist immer top. Schade das man manchmal so lange warten muss. Wir kommen extra aus Aachen Mitte um dort essen zu holen, aber "mal eben" vorbei fahren ist leider nicht so prickelnd. Aber anschließend hat sich das Warten gelohnt, da es besonders lecker ist.

Ich war heute zum ersten Mal in diesem Ladenlokal essen und bin zufrieden. Sehr freundlicher Service und tolle Atmosphäre. Die sahnesauce sollte man etwas verbessern, ansonsten gibt es nicht auszusetzen.

Wir fühlen uns hier wie zu Hause. Typisch griechische Gastfreundschaft und Herzlichkeit. Das Essen ist super lecker und die Portionen großzügig bemessen. Es wäre klasse, wenn der Chef mit der Zeit gehen würde und ein paar Speisen für Vegetarier und Veganer “kreieren“ würde. Viele junge Menschen würden bestimmt das Angebot begrüßen. Auch in Corona Zeiten ist das Ambiente sauber und man fühlt sich einfach wohl. Sehr empfehlenswert! 👍🏻 Update: auch nachdem der Inhaber gewechselt hat, gehen wir immer noch gerne hin! :) Aber es gibt immer noch kaum echte leckere vegetarische Gerichte. Sehr schade!

Wir waren heute zum ersten mal beim Akropolis Grill Eilendorf und sind begeistert. Das Gyros und auch das Schnitzel sind geschmacklich einfach super. Die Pfefferrahmsoße kann man nur empfehlen. Keine Soße aus der Verpackung, hier schmeckt man das alles mit viel Liebe hergestellt wird. Die Angestellten und der Chef sind super freundlich. Man kann die Speisen abholen, hat aber auch die Möglichkeit vor Ort zu essen ( sowohl innen als auch auf der Terrasse). Wir werden auf jeden fall wieder dort hingehen.

Der beste und vor allem freundlichste Imbiss den es in Eilendorf gibt! Man wird immer! freundlich und herzlich empfangen und genauso bedient,( egal wie viel zu tun ist.Dino ,Sofia sowie Schwiegermutter nehmen sich immer Zeit.) Das Essen ist immer lecker und die Portionen sind gut . Wir kommen sehr gerne dorthin, weil wir uns einfach sehr wohl fühlen! Macht weiter so!

Bester Laden in Aachen, war super lecker. Und das Personal ist mega freundlich!

Man wird dort sehr herzlich und freundlich empfangen, schnell und zuvorkommend bedient, dort kennt man keine Arroganz. Alle Mitarbeiter sind gut drauf. Man wird schnell bedient und erhält sehr leckeres Essen. Wir werden ganz gewiss häufiger dort zum essen hingehen oder auch vorbestellen und abholen.

Wie immer lecker Zigeunerschnitzel mit Pommes geholt. Die Zigeunersosse, einfach nur lecker 😋

Guten Abend, leider habe ich eine Pizza Kreta bestellt, welche leider auf Grund von zu viel Salz ungenießbar war. Zudem war die Pizza am Rand schwarz. Aber der Pita mit Pommes war wie immer sehr gut.

Leider waren die Pitas sehr fettig und fielen auseinander. Außerdem finde ich 6,50€ ein bisschen viel für eine Pita.

Pitta war ganz lecker aber schlecht gerollt da alles auseinander gefallen ist beim öffnen. Und mit 6,50€ nicht gerade günstig.

Alles ändert sich einmal. Die eine Ära geht zu Ende, eine neue Ära beginnt. Seitdem im Akropolis Grill die Servicemitarbeiter und die Betriebsleitung gewechselt haben, ist aber auf den ersten Blick erst einmal alles beim Alten geblieben: Die Ungezwungenheit, die Gemütlichkeit, der freundliche und schnelle Service, die umfangreiche Speisenkarte, die großen Portionen, das Interieur und der nette Plausch zwischendurch. Doch an der Rezeptur der Speisen, an den Gewürzen, da wurde etwas geändert. Der Krautsalat - in dem ich mich früher sprichwörtlich hätte wälzen können - ist sehr viel deftiger und hat seine feine, süße Note verloren. Das Gyros ist viel kräftiger gewürzt. Den leckeren Geschmack vergangener Zeiten trifft das nicht ganz, aber es schmeckt eben auch, nur auf eine andere Weise, lecker. Immer wieder, und immer gerne!
