I had an absolutely wonderful experience at restaurant Akropolis in Cochem. The hospitality was truly exceptional, the service was flawless: fast, friendly and professional. As for the food - every dish was fresh, flavorful. you can truly taste the quality and passion behind every bite. Whether you're a fan of traditional Greek cuisine or just looking for a memorable dining experience, this place will not disappoint.

I was at Akropolis last night and had a great experience! The food was not only delicious but also plentiful. The service was friendly and attentive. My only minor criticism: I asked for ketchup, but that was really the only thing that wasn't quite right. Otherwise, everything was great! I'm happy to give it 5 stars and can wholeheartedly recommend the restaurant.

Unfortunately, a very disappointing visit. The meat was tough, dry, and partially burnt – absolutely not enjoyable. The service seemed unfriendly and uninspired. Even the ouzo, which should normally be served ice cold, arrived warm. Truly disappointing for a Greek restaurant. Not recommended. We should have listened to the negative reviews.

Four of us went there yesterday to eat. The food was okay... but nothing exceptional. But I've never experienced a situation where, when you order a mixed grill at a Greek restaurant, you don't get tzatziki. However, you could order it for €4.70.

We spontaneously went to this Greek restaurant and got a table right away, even without a reservation. Unfortunately, there's no outdoor seating. The food arrived promptly and was excellent! No complaints, highly recommended! As usual, we had an ouzo as a nightcap! Truly fantastic! Really great value for money.

Since I am on vacation with my grandparents, we wanted to go out for Greek food again. The restaurant immediately caught my eye and was enthusiastic about the reviews. So I called and asked if there were any tables available. I was able to reserve a table for 7 p.m. I also asked if the restaurant was wheelchair accessible and if a dog could come with me. Both were confirmed. I was told there were three people, a wheelchair and a dog. No sooner said than done. We arrived at the restaurant at 6:40 p.m. and saw that there was no wheelchair-accessible entrance. It was annoying, but so far it was okay. So I went in to say that we couldn't take the table because my grandpa can't climb the stairs. I was immediately told in a rude tone that I had supposedly reserved the table for 5:40 p.m. I said no and explained the situation to him again. We were then asked to take a seat. So he didn't understand that I no longer wanted to take the table. After receiving an exceptionally grim look, I was allowed to leave the restaurant. The ambiance, as far as I could tell, looked very cozy. It was a small but chic restaurant.

Spent a week on vacation in Cochem! Ate here twice! Super generous portions, fast, efficient service! The first time, the gyros was quite fatty, but that wasn't the restaurant's fault; it was the meat they delivered! The second time, everything was great! Making a reservation in advance or arriving at 5 p.m. when they open is recommended! We'll definitely be back at our Greek restaurant on our next trip to the Moselle!

We ate there on vacation and chose based on reviews. The gyros with fries had some of the meat very fatty and bland. The gyros topped with Metaxa hardly tasted of Metaxa but had plenty of meat.

We were the first guests, and we were able to choose our own seating. Even though we arrived a bit early, the staff was super friendly, and the food was simply delicious and absolutely fantastic. We were allowed to take leftovers home with us, and they packaged them up beautifully. Thank you and we'd be happy to come back again!!! Went here for dinner, based on Google reviews, but it was disappointing. There was no sandwich as a starter, which I'm used to with Greek food. The mixed grill didn't come with any sauce (ordered separately), and the food was very salty and the pork quite dry.

The downside was that they didn't have an elevator. The upside was that the food was excellent and the staff were very, very friendly. I'll be back again.

We arrived shortly before closing time and received a very friendly welcome. The beer was excellent, and the food was also very tasty. It's up stairs, so there's not much of a view, but it's very cozy and clean. Highly recommended! It's also reasonably priced for what you get.

We arrived at 6:00 PM with five people. They were actually full, but we were allowed to stay until 8:00 PM. The service was excellent. The staff were friendly. The food was truly delicious and the portions were generous.

The service was okay, although one dish was partially delivered incorrectly. This was corrected immediately. The food itself was a disgrace. The meat was very fatty, dry inside, and very dark on the outside, making it inedible. It was okay the first time, but this time was also the last.

Snelle bediening. Leuke plek midden in Cochem. Een van de restaurants die wel de moeite waarde zijn. Sterker: u mag vele andere, zeker aan het water, beter overslaan. Akropolis biedt zeer goed eten, vers. Smaakvol. En een gevarieerde kaart. Ook geschikt voor mensen met kinderen. De ingang is met een trap naar boven dus een kinderwagen etc kan niet mee maar voor schoolgaande kinderen is het een fijne plek met ook opties voor de kleine eters op de kaart. Een aanrader en op de koop toe ook nog vriendelijk voor je portemonnee.

Highly recommended, a must-do if you're in Cochem and want to eat well. The value for money is excellent. Service is very friendly and attentive. We tried three other restaurants here, but the Akropolis stands out by far. We had lamb chops and a large salad with chicken breast. By the way, dogs 🐕 are also welcome.

The portions are big! I had to ask for a tupper to take leftovers with me because I couldn't finish my plate. The taste is good! They definitely know what they are doing. The service is attentive, professional and vwry helpful. If you are very hungry and feel like eating some meaty greek plates, this is your place!

A normal Greek restaurant. The salad with the main course is good. There were four of us. Three dishes were good (normal). The fourth was pork fillet in Metaxa sauce. You'd expect tender fillet meat, not marbled pieces of meat, some of which even had gristle.

One of the few restaurants in Cochem that doesn't try to rip off tourists. The price-performance ratio was 100% right. I can recommend it with a clear conscience.

I ate there today, July 1, 2025. I had a bifteki from the menu, which felt like a kilo of minced meat. The food tasted very good. The service was also very good. The price/performance ratio was very good. The only thing I missed was a glass of ouzo as a welcome drink (it was fun).

Just an ‘average’ meal experience here for us, - and far from the ‘best place to eat in Cochem’ as another has written. Most meals served with an abundance of chips/fries, which may please some, but in reality was just plate filling. The Meat was ok, but all just very average.

We sat down at a table for two that hadn't been reserved. The waiter loudly told us that we couldn't just sit down and told us to go to the counter and wait patiently. Mr. Hallo had forgotten who the guest was.

After five years in Cochem, we decided to go to the Akropolis again. Just like before, we were not disappointed in the slightest. The tzatziki starter is enough for two people. The main course is so generous that you'll be looking forward to the ouzo, which is on the house. The service is very friendly and attentive. As a solo cyclist, I was looking for a restaurant for dinner in Cochem. It's hard to find a restaurant in Cochem where you won't get ripped off as a tourist... I chose the Greek restaurant Akropolis because the reviews were mostly positive, although there were also a few negative ones. As I climbed the stairs to the restaurant shortly after 6:00 PM on a Tuesday evening, the noise level alone made it clear that the place was busy. Although there were several tables available, I was seated at a table for two, right next to the steps leading down to the restroom, which I declined. I was then allowed to sit—albeit reluctantly—at a table farther away, which was not directly next to the stairs leading down to the restroom. I ordered, as I often do at Greek restaurants, a portion of tzatziki and a full gyro. The tzatziki, which arrived relatively quickly, was as bland as it was flavorless: There wasn't much taste of grated cucumber or garlic, and topping it off, a desolate slice of cucumber with its skin, surrounded by olive oil, lay on the plate. An olive or a chili pepper wasn't served with it, as is more common at other Greek restaurants. After about 30 minutes, the gyro plate arrived. A huge portion of steakhouse fries and the aforementioned gyro meat. The steakhouse fries were neither crispy nor rather floury on the inside. The gyro was flavorless, coarsely cut, and I didn't like it at all. I suspect that the gyro couldn't possibly have come off the rotisserie like that, or they make so many portions that the gyro doesn't have time to become crispy. On top of that, the portion was huge, so not only I, but all the tables around me, left at least half of the dish on their plates. At the end, they offered me some ouzo, but I politely declined. Personally, I wouldn't visit the restaurant again.

Our family recently went to this truly amazing Greek restaurant – the atmosphere there was simply fantastic! Soft Greek music played in the background, which was totally pleasant and didn't disturb the conversation at all. The server was really quick and super attentive. And the food? Absolutely delicious! Everything was fresh and made with lots of love. The only catch: Lots of people want to eat there, so it's best to make a reservation in advance. Luckily, we were lucky – the host was incredibly welcoming and managed to find us a table. We can highly recommend it – we'll definitely be back the next time we visit Cochem!

Went there one evening with a good friend during a weekend visit to Cochem. We were quite hungry after a hike and were overwhelmed by the portion size, including a side salad. The taste was excellent, and the service was friendly and quick. The ambiance was also good, although it was very warm and stuffy that day. The ouzo at the end rounded off the visit nicely.

Was really craving Greek food so I grabbed the gyro platter and calamari here. Calamari was obviously the frozen bag kind and fried in older oil... The gyro meat and the fench fries were served in large portions. I've had better Mediterranean fare all over the place and in Greece, as well. Probably good for locals but....
