Airbräu in Oberding

I'd like to offer some constructive criticism of the food I ordered. The server was very friendly, and the drinks and food arrived quickly, which is certainly important at an airport. However, the roast beef with onions for €27.00 was a bit disappointing. I found the portion too small, and the meat contained too many flaxseeds for a roast beef. Unfortunately, the meat was not of good quality and not tender enough. The sauce was nothing special either. There was too much sauce, and it was thickly thickened. The portion of onions was meager. More onions and less sauce, and some green beans with bacon, would have been nice. Other restaurants also serve a salad. Therefore, there's still room for improvement in the quality of the meat and the side dishes. My partner also had roast beef, and the portion was just as good here... My criticism only applies to the roast beef; perhaps the other dishes are better. Otherwise, the atmosphere is very nice.

Actually quite nice, if only the service weren’t so bad – waited 10 minutes just to get a menu before I ended up getting one myself. No waiter asked if I wanted another drink, or even how the food was. I also found it incredibly rude that the waiter demanded a tip and then made a snide remark when he didn’t get one. I worked as a waiter myself for a long time, and you earn tips by doing a good job – not just because you showed up. It’s this arrogance that I find unacceptable - Hr Rarau - you should be ashamed. This was a horrible start to my stay in München. Also be aware that they do not have their own toilet so you will need to walk back into airport to find one.

We arrived unannounced with eight people, but at 4 p.m., and asked for a quick drink. The waiter's response was that we were full and all the tables were booked. All of them? In the beer garden and inside? Theoretically, we could have just sat down without being too rude. The turnaround at an airport is probably good, as is the frequency, so for me, if I wanted to make money, I'd order eight beers, take the money, and tell them the table would be full soon. Whether that's true or not, it all comes down to communication. Now we're sitting on the terrace of the Sport Alm, which is self-service but friendly and accommodating.

Here you can have a good meal before flying to Urmaub. Staff is okay, food is delicious, but it could be hotter and unfortunately it was lukewarm. My onion roast had a very thick layer of fat on the outside (not so great).

Re: Complaint about unprofessional behavior of a waiter at Airbräu Ladies and Gentlemen Today we were guests at your restaurant “Airbräu” with five people before our departure. Unfortunately, we had an extremely unpleasant experience with one of your waiters whose behavior was completely unprofessional and unfriendly. As soon as we ordered, we were reprimanded in a sharp tone when we wanted to order white sausages with pretzels. His short answer was simply: "There isn't! Not now! It's after 11 o'clock! There's no breakfast at this time!" When I pointed out that there was no such information on the menu, he simply replied: “It’s as I say.” This inappropriate behavior continued throughout the entire stay. When our food came and we asked to pay straight away, he replied harshly: "Pay?! Now?! That's not possible! It'll take time! Together or separately? Separately what?! Then it'll take even longer! I don't have time!" After we waited about 30 minutes, he finally came back - but only to ask us if we wanted something more to drink. When we said again that we would like to pay, he reacted unkindly again: "No time now! He won't do it now! Maybe later." When I pointed out that otherwise we would have to leave because our flight was taking off soon, he threatened us with the police. Only after a call directly from the table and a complaint from us to the restaurant did the head waiter come to our table. He apologized on the grounds that the colleague was stressed and as a gesture offered us a coffee, which we gratefully accepted. The waiter in question finally came – after another 15 minutes – with the bill. Such behavior is absolutely incomprehensible to us, especially not at an international airport where guests from all over the world can expect a minimum level of politeness and professionalism. The employee in question appears to be either overwhelmed by the situation or fundamentally unsuitable for guest service. We therefore ask you to process this incident internally and hope to receive appropriate feedback from you.

We just wanted to go to the airbräu beer garden, no usher at the entrance, no people in front and half the beer garden was empty. We went to an empty table and were intercepted by a rude gentleman who told us he would show us our place. He walked with us to the exit and banned us from the beer garden. Now we sit comfortably in the Beetle and look forward to our food and drinks. Our plane leaves in 3 hours and we have enough time to be served by the friendly waiter.

What happened to Airbräu? Catastrophic experience today, I could have had free food at airline lounge but wanted to get my partner there. Great result (not!). 1) We arrive from the terrace and upon indicating we wanted to eat, a waitress points a door at the back with one word "indoors". 2) we get to this door and a waiter, using a tone as if we are stupid, points to a sign "area closed" close to the door and tells us the door is... exact opposite of terrace near his nearly rude colleague. 3) we get in and eventually get our lunch... to get served a "corn crusted" fish with no battering at all. Just fish. We indicated it to the waiter, do you think he could at least have removed a 2.5€ beer from the bill to acknowledge the mistake? Not at all. We had a flight to take so did not want to argue and settled but this is about my 20th and last time in this place. Avoid it, they seem to live on past glory and have no concept of customer service. Shocking, to remain polite.

Very good beer garden in the terminal of Munic airport. Beer is excellent and reasonably priced. We had Bavarian special sausages and roasted pork. All food was excellent!

World's best potato salad for Wiener Schnitzel. Roast is also highly recommended. Service was nice and quick. Prices are rather high, but probably normal for the airport and Munich standards. Definitely worth a visit!

1/2 Maass of home-made beer for €3.70. Tasty and good for a quick stop before a flight. Food comes quickly.

Geographically very good. The Weissbier is delicious and the ice cream is also very tasty. It seems to be the best location as it is near the smoking area and restrooms. However, the time it takes for the staff to take orders is a bit slow. Other than that it's great.

I can only recommend it, always worth a visit.....

The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Our empty plates stood in front of us for at least half an hour until we asked someone to clear them away, paying was then the next hurdle, we waited a really long time...

The first impression was really ok. Guest garden on the airport premises. Unfortunately extremely unfriendly and unmotivated service. So after 30 minutes we left without ever being able to order anything to drink. Too bad.

Sunday evening around 9:00 p.m.: Obviously personnel problems... you are rudely referred to the colleague who never comes... You really felt that you had come unread...

We were there with a larger group (approx. 50 people). Service was great, despite the large crowd we got our food quite quickly. The taste is also very tasty and I can only recommend it.

For a restaurant in an airport, this is a really solid choice. The food is delicious and comes in very large portions. Honestly, I was not expecting the salad to be this delicious, but it was very flavorful. The other dishes were also great. We all enjoyed our meal.

Unfortunately disappointing after a good start - Bavarian pub culture is just an empty promise Hello Louisa and the entire Airbräu team, my experience seems similar to other group reservations. Something like 0 and 1 > either everything fits or it doesn't - which was unfortunately the case for us. At first everything looked promising - the drinks came quickly and the food was generally okay. Two dishes were served lukewarm, which put a slight damper on the otherwise solid offering. Unfortunately, no dishes were cleared away for over 30 minutes afterwards and no one asked for more drinks. The waiter came by several times, but instead of making eye contact, he avoided us (even though he walked past us empty-handed several times) Even when I asked the restaurant manager, things didn't get any better. Ultimately we decided to pay and move on to a real Bavarian inn. However, the checkout took another 10 minutes as the waiter wrote down each one of our group of 10 on his pad, then went to the cash register to get a receipt and then came back with the receipt to pay. He carried out this process for each of us individually - taking significantly more time than usual. It's a shame, because the praised Bavarian charm fell by the wayside and the otherwise positive impression was severely tarnished by the poor service.

I was lucky enough to have lunch at this restaurant before my flight and it was, without a doubt, one of the best dining experiences in Munich. The service was impeccable: friendly, fast and very attentive.

Never again. Try to avoid worst service at airport. Didn't come to eat. Totally unfriendly service. Sorry. Here the guest is probably a supplicant and disrupts the service. Was seated at a different table 3 times and sent away again by another service person. At the end I slammed cards on the table and snapped at them with “everything takes time”. Then I wanted to complain, but at the reception at the entrance the service worker harshly reprimanded two elderly people and told them to go to McDonalds Unfriendliness seems to be systemic here.

The food (old Bavarian crispy roast pork) was good, although there was a touch too much salt in the sauce. The dumplings were delicious! It is interesting to watch the visitors because they are constantly coming and going.

Incredibly mediocre food served up by a staff who more or less doesn't give a shit about the guests and who has no shame in showing it off. In the kitchen, people seem to be similarly unmotivated to work. When you enter you are told which table to sit at and after you have obeyed, you are then punished with sheer disregard for a quarter of an hour, which can either be interpreted as intent or laziness. The potato and rocket salad advertised on the menu contained no trace of rocket, but was the most primitive potato salad straight out of a bucket (see picture - the tiny thing that was green was parsley). Porcini mushroom pasta lukewarm with a skin-like film on the sauce. Side salad apparently from the day before yesterday, already wilting to a brownish color. As a result of the monopoly position at the airport, there is apparently no need to worry about the guests or the food. Wasted money. Any indication of dissatisfaction was met with “I’m just working here.” Completely crazy!

Airbräu at Munich Airport combines Bavarian brewery tradition with international flair. Here you can enjoy Bavarian specialties such as crispy knuckles and juicy farm duck, as well as home-brewed beer in a cozy tavern atmosphere. Surrounded by shiny copper brewing kettles, the restaurant offers a unique atmosphere, be it in the historic Zirbelstube or in the covered beer garden, which invites you to relax. No matter whether you are passing through or simply looking for a cozy place, you will always find a pleasant place to stay here.

Great stop for food at airport. It is like a traditional German restaurant. However it has some veggie and vegan options which is great. Great weekly/monthly menu, do check that out. The service was quite good and much better than many other German restaurants. Also somehow the prices at the restaurant were quite decent. Like main dish vegetarian was 14-15 EUR and half a litre of beer for 3.7 EUR is good price. Especially when you consider it to be Munich and Airport. Great option in comparison to junk food like McDonald's or so.

Great spot for a hearty meal and a cold beer at Munich Airport! We had the grilled pork knuckle with potato dumplings and cabbage salad—shared the half portion, and it was more than enough for both of us. The food was delicious, and there’s a fantastic selection of beers to choose from. Perfect place to enjoy a taste of Bavaria before or after a flight!

There is delicious German pig's trotters and beer at the airport. The portions are large and suitable for dining with friends.

The Airbräu is a nice way to return home after a plane trip. The roast pork was always very good, but unfortunately I found the Schlutzkrapfen a bit bland, as I had never heard of it in this small format and with such a filling.

The pork shoulder roast (photo) does not look delicious only ... it is. The meat is lean and the crust is really crusty and delicious. Not forgetting the perfect sauce in sufficient quantity. The ice-cold Kumulus Weissbier goes super with it. That is what I call "finger-licking good". The price was fair and compared to Munich city inexpensive. The service is professional and very fast. The guesthouse has its special flair - a bit dusty behind the pipes and sometimes a sparrow flies buy looking beggingly. It still is a must for every traveler who wants to have tested Bavarian hospitality.

We love coming here. The service and food is always excellent. Tonight, Varol looked after us perfectly.

The oldest airport brewery in the world. The Bräustüberl has been around for less than 30 years and this title seems to have been easily won, but at least. In 1999, despite the looming dot-com bubble, the decision was made to open an original Bavarian inn at Franz Josef Strauss Airport. The namesake would have been proud and the establishment doesn't promise anything it can't keep. Not only home-brewed hop drinks are offered here, but also excellent home cooking from the surrounding areas. The furnishings also form a strong and homely contrast to the sterile and hectic airport made of glass and metal. A special highlight is the generously sized guest garden in the atrium of the Munich Airport Center. Because it is so grim here, more business travelers have missed their connecting flights than due to Lufthansa strikes. And the icing on the cake is that the prices are just as affordable as at the Chinese Tower, if not more affordable. Unlike the neighboring restaurants at Aeroporto, you don't have to blow up an ATM to get a cool blonde beer.

We visit the restaurant regularly. Most recently on March 1, 2025. The food was delicious, as usual. But we've had bad luck with the service before. This time, unfortunately, it was the same again. We encountered a waitress who wasn't particularly engaging and wasn't particularly friendly. I ordered a pork knuckle. I was served one that was really very small, however. Instead, the kitchen put a small slice of regular pork under the knuckle. It's fine for me, too. Nevertheless, a small reminder of the situation from the waitress wouldn't have been too much to ask. Eventually, it was time to pay. Our waitress wasn't available. Another one came. Since the waitress wasn't so friendly before, the tip was limited (I still believe that a waitress has to earn her tips and doesn't automatically receive them). The tip was somewhere around 7 percent. The male waitress who took our money then complained about the 7 percent and so on, saying he was doing the trip for free... I found that inappropriate at that point, since he didn't even know the history. I reported the matter to the info@ address twice and received no response. Therefore, I feel compelled to make it known now. As I said, the food is always good. But when it comes to service, it's a 50/50 chance... I hope we have better luck next time.

On the occasion of our 15th company anniversary, we celebrated together with our customers in the threshing floor of the Airbräu. The rooms and the ambience were perfect for us. We would especially like to thank the service team for their attention in hosting our guests. Actually a MUST at MUC Airport, whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Super child friendly. We found the prices for an airport to be ok. Food was excellent and the beer is also very good! Of course, the beer garden outside is great, as it is protected in all weathers thanks to the roof.

It is located after immigration at Munich Airport. The menu was all in German, but when I asked the staff, they kindly told me in English that this was the sausage and weizen. The taste of the sausage, pretzels, and weizen beer was so delicious that I will never forget it. Anyway, I recommend it!! ️

The roast pork was very good. I hope the batches of beer currently being served were a snapshot. Weissbier too much diactyl. Light 'legger' tasted 'out of date'. Thanks for the return. As a flagship of the beer city of Munich right next to Weihenstephan with such a modern facility on site, more should be possible. Sorry for the criticism.

This is a restaurant that I always go to in advance to eat at Munich Airport before departure. Beer prices are incomparably cheaper and more delicious than in the city. It's delicious no matter what you order, so I highly recommend it. Beyond security screening (especially Terminal 1), there is not much to eat at higher prices than here. The terminal is also tight, so don't bother going in in advance and eat here.

Best place to eat in Münich airport! This time we decided to order from the daily menu. Good thing we ordered one to share instead of ordering two diff meals because the portion was huge and enough for both of us. I suggest you to do the same. Besides, they also make their own beer, which tastes very good 🍺 Edit: I tried Baverian Burger last time and didn’t find it as successful as other dishes I tried earlier. So, eat something else than burger 🍔😄

Ok place for a meal pre flight. Beer very good and ridiculously cheap. Food average but not sure you'd get any better elsewhere in an airport. Reasonable pricing - would likely go back.

Our visit to Airbräu was simply fantastic. Since we had a great reserved table in the heated beer garden, our stay in the fresh air at the end of October was absolutely comfortable. The indoor spaces are also very inviting. The staff is very nice and competent. We were served extremely friendly and quickly. We felt very comfortable throughout our stay and are already looking forward to our next visit, which will hopefully take place in December. The food was excellent. Delicious Bavarian cuisine, what more could you want. You should try the beer. Thumbs up, 5 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 After the lockdown, carry on as before. All the best to the whole team for the next few weeks. Stay healthy. We look forward to our next visit. Addition a few years later - December 2024!!! Our enthusiasm for the Airbräu continues. Although the restaurant is located within the airport, it still offers affordable prices and a varied menu. The products I ate were fresh and delicious. The coffee wasn't of the best quality. Still recommended!

First of all, nice atmosphere, decor and atmosphere. Interesting menu and tasty food. First class beer. Nice service. The restaurant is popular, every time we come here the tables are occupied. Fortunately, after a short wait, there is always a table for two people. The location was perfect. If you are at the airport or the surrounding area in Munich, be sure to visit here for a little something.

Scammed us with a tip. What the. These people will force you to tip to just scam you for extra money. Do not go here. Food good. But will demand tip, even when you aren't forced to. It's crazy.

The reception always seems a bit hectic, but the service staff are always friendly and attentive. The Airbräu has a welcoming atmosphere, but unfortunately it is often very loud and if you come in a smaller group and you are unlucky, you will end up sitting at the table with strangers because some of them are intended for 8 people and then, understandably, if there are none larger groups come can also be occupied. However, I always find it very annoying when this happens because I just don't like sitting with strangers while eating. The food is good, traditional Bavarian and very tasty. The serving is also rather rustic and the portions are large. If you don't value frills and just want to eat well, this is the place for you. There are always plenty of parking spaces in the P20 and when you pay you get a credit for a certain number of hours.

Very disappointing – No solution for a simple reservation We wanted to hold our regulars' table with 12 people in this restaurant on January 2nd, 2025 and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. Despite making a reservation 3.5 weeks in advance for a table for 12, when we arrived we were seated at two separate tables in the “Old Kitchen”. Apparently a table for 12 people was not available, which significantly disrupted our celebration. What was even more frustrating was how our complaint was handled by the restaurant manager. When we asked for a solution, we were simply told that we should indicate when making the reservation that we wanted to sit at a table - which was obvious to us, especially with such a large group. However, this request for a shared table was completely ignored. Even worse was the reaction of the second restaurant manager, who rudely told us that there was no table for 12 people and that "pushing them together" wasn't possible either. This rude and unhelpful attitude is unacceptable, especially in a restaurant that focuses on good service. Additionally, it is confusing that the website allows online reservations for groups of up to 14 people, which contradicts what the restaurant managers said. Unfortunately, I have also seen similar complaints made in other Google reviews. This negative experience and the unprofessional treatment of us as guests ruined the entire experience. I expect an apology and an explanation as to why this situation was handled so poorly. Hopefully this feedback will be used to improve the service in the future.

Very, very crowded ! You have to stay at the table with strangers, because the tables are huge, for 8-10 persons. The food was average, pork knuckle with the worst polenta I ever eat. No mashed potatoes or cabbage at the side, how it is usually served in Germany. The waiter was very busy and almost rude.

Went to Airbräu on Christmas Eve (lunch) with a reservation and it worked well. But unfortunately there was only a reduced Christmas menu, which unfortunately wasn't noted on the website🤔 We were looking forward to pork knuckle and onion roast. The male waitress was attentive and quick. The salad bowl with chicken strips was worth its price. 👍French fries weren't such a hit, lukewarm with fat, left for longer 😞

Very positive experience, I came with friends from Munich and I must say that I ate very well and spent less than average. The shank with sauerkraut is excellent, not to mention the excellent Christmas beer.

First-class beer, I like the Fliegerquell (Helles) best. A highlight was the chestnut soup! I've been going there again and again since 1999, the most rustic and Bavarian location at the airport. Beer prices are still very fair, less than 4 euros. Food is quite expensive, but at least homemade sauces. Airbräu is great 👍🏻!
