The reception always seems a bit hectic, but the service staff are always friendly and attentive. The Airbräu has a welcoming atmosphere, but unfortunately it is often very loud and if you come in a smaller group and you are unlucky, you will end up sitting at the table with strangers because some of them are intended for 8 people and then, understandably, if there are none larger groups come can also be occupied. However, I always find it very annoying when this happens because I just don't like sitting with strangers while eating. The food is good, traditional Bavarian and very tasty. The serving is also rather rustic and the portions are large. If you don't value frills and just want to eat well, this is the place for you. There are always plenty of parking spaces in the P20 and when you pay you get a credit for a certain number of hours.

Very disappointing – No solution for a simple reservation We wanted to hold our regulars' table with 12 people in this restaurant on January 2nd, 2025 and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. Despite making a reservation 3.5 weeks in advance for a table for 12, when we arrived we were seated at two separate tables in the “Old Kitchen”. Apparently a table for 12 people was not available, which significantly disrupted our celebration. What was even more frustrating was how our complaint was handled by the restaurant manager. When we asked for a solution, we were simply told that we should indicate when making the reservation that we wanted to sit at a table - which was obvious to us, especially with such a large group. However, this request for a shared table was completely ignored. Even worse was the reaction of the second restaurant manager, who rudely told us that there was no table for 12 people and that "pushing them together" wasn't possible either. This rude and unhelpful attitude is unacceptable, especially in a restaurant that focuses on good service. Additionally, it is confusing that the website allows online reservations for groups of up to 14 people, which contradicts what the restaurant managers said. Unfortunately, I have also seen similar complaints made in other Google reviews. This negative experience and the unprofessional treatment of us as guests ruined the entire experience. I expect an apology and an explanation as to why this situation was handled so poorly. Hopefully this feedback will be used to improve the service in the future.

Very, very crowded ! You have to stay at the table with strangers, because the tables are huge, for 8-10 persons. The food was average, pork knuckle with the worst polenta I ever eat. No mashed potatoes or cabbage at the side, how it is usually served in Germany. The waiter was very busy and almost rude.

Went to Airbräu on Christmas Eve (lunch) with a reservation and it worked well. But unfortunately there was only a reduced Christmas menu, which unfortunately wasn't noted on the website🤔 We were looking forward to pork knuckle and onion roast. The male waitress was attentive and quick. The salad bowl with chicken strips was worth its price. 👍French fries weren't such a hit, lukewarm with fat, left for longer 😞

Very positive experience, I came with friends from Munich and I must say that I ate very well and spent less than average. The shank with sauerkraut is excellent, not to mention the excellent Christmas beer.

First-class beer, I like the Fliegerquell (Helles) best. A highlight was the chestnut soup! I've been going there again and again since 1999, the most rustic and Bavarian location at the airport. Beer prices are still very fair, less than 4 euros. Food is quite expensive, but at least homemade sauces. Airbräu is great 👍🏻!

Table reserved for 12 people and were divided into 2 tables, after we complained about it we were given 2 tables put together. The food was only lukewarm and the beer was already completely without foam. The portions are clear and the quality can be improved. The potatoes in the onion roast were just barely done. Unfortunately, the service was also very bad, the waiting times were long and the tone was unfriendly. It used to be much better, but has diminished significantly and is now the only way to get full at the airport, there is no longer any trace of enjoyment (apart from the beer). In addition, it is not possible for the reservation signs to contain first and last names; a little more data protection would be appropriate.

Bad prices compared to the quality of the dishes.

Good day, we arrived at the airport on time (approx. 3 hours before boarding). After we dropped off our luggage early, we wanted to fortify ourselves before the flight with a delicious meal and a cool cold drink. Unfortunately we were very disappointed, the service was very unfriendly and unprofessional. We didn't feel comfortable in this atmosphere. We waited an hour for two portions of fries and sausage salad. When we asked if we could pay directly, we were rudely rejected because we were supposed to pay everything together. The cappuccino was forgotten and only brought to us after we asked the waiter several times. I cannot recommend this establishment. Kind regards and have a nice holiday everyone. John

Advent brunch is highly recommended - leaves nothing to be desired! All dishes were very good without exception! Great service and a lovely Christmas mood and atmosphere! The three musicians also did a great job and created a good atmosphere!

The service was an absolute disappointment! The male waiter in particular (around his late 30s, dark-haired) was extremely rude and seemed annoyed by our visit. The food was ok, but the bad atmosphere caused by the unfriendly service ruined the entire visit.

Stopped by here while passing through and was really pleasantly surprised. As soon as you walk through the door, the airport stays behind you and the brewery atmosphere (admittedly a bit loud but authentic) has you covered. I had the pork knuckle, which came after only a 10-minute wait despite a full house. Crispy on the outside, soft and aromatic meat on the inside. Home-brewed light and unfiltered lager also gets full points and at a more than fair price (currently €3.70 for half a liter).

The waitress was very rude, bordering on unfriendly. She took a long time to serve us and then was in a hurry to get us out because the table they assigned us had a reservation. The same waitress' treatment of other customers was not the same. I don't know if it's because we are tourists.

Had pre-ordered “Duck to go” for Christmas. The best decision for Christmas Eve! Everything was perfect, the duck was super tender, crispy and rich, the dumplings and red cabbage were a dream. Thanks to a simple description, it was easy for amateurs like us to conjure up a dream meal on the table with hardly any effort. The "Duck to go" made a wonderful Christmas evening even more beautiful. Thank you!

A nice German restaurant, but the food is like a buffet at the station. A steak for €30 full of oil and really bad. Girlfriend had the pork roast and it was said to be pretty good to be fair. Anyway, I think you can eat better in the area for the same money.

We always like to come regularly, so far everything has been great, we were there as guests on December 24th, 2024, took advantage of the Christmas card, both meals were totally over salted, maybe everyone needed to relax 😉

Food and drink very tasty and also affordable for the airport.

Burger was from good meat but was overcooked - meat was cracking as I chewed it - 1 stars. My wife thought the schnitzel was 3.5 stars. My son refused to eat the Bavarian sausage salad. He said 1 star. Soup was 4 stars. The salad that comes with the schnitzel 10 stars. Vanilla ice cream is 4 stars. They brought the kids their ice cream before they served anything else...

Picking up party kegs we ordered for a friend went wrong again

The man who worked at reception this evening at 7:25 p.m. should urgently be replaced! Unfriendly, unaccommodating, incompetent... We didn't have a reservation and I asked several times if he had a chair or somewhere to sit for my 84 year old mother because we had to wait. He explained to me very unfriendly that we have to wait and stand behind the sign "they are being seated". I think such a person should be able to assess the situations better. Completely out of place, I recommend washing dishes!

Here I am only evaluating the offer to fill beer into party kegs. We ordered several 5 liter beer kegs four times and Airbräu NEVER managed to process the orders correctly!! Either there is no beer (like now) or the wrong beer, wrong size, etc. Unfortunately, I can neither advise nor recommend relying on Airbräu when buying beer kegs to give as gifts. You're just left out in the rain and no one cares! The beer itself is very good!

Simply great for a brewery at the airport

I was there with two friends this afternoon after visiting the Christmas market. It wasn't busy, so we were able to choose a table for 6. We each ordered cheese spaetzle with a side salad and 1 drink. Our waiter was extremely "motivated", it took a while for him to come to the table and take the order, and we mean something different by friendliness. The drinks came quickly and he left the food at the front of the table instead of handing it to the guests, as is normal. We've never experienced anything like this before. The spaetzle was just lukewarm, so we sent it back. The new ones were warmer but not as hot as they should be and the taste was pretty bland. They weren't worth the price. In any case, we were very disappointed and won't be coming back anytime soon. A friendly waiter came to pay, the other one probably had a shift change.

It's a shame - otherwise we'd love to come Today, however, roast pork with bread dumplings is not the same as we are used to from Airbräu. Super nice staff, fast service and very tasty food

Before visiting the Christmas market we had dinner at Airbräu, everything was great!! The service was great, we all got our food at the same time even though the restaurant was full 👍👍👍. Particularly noteworthy are the onion roast and the Wiener Schnitzel, especially the potato and cucumber salad, sauguad!! We'll be back soon!

After a very long French flight, I just wanted a nice cold German beer and some fries. What I got was far more. The atmosphere was wonderfully friendly, welcoming, and filled with good cheer. Even their customers were really nice. I was traveling all alone. I was tired, and I needed somewhere to wait a while for my ride. Airbräu was highly recommended by the airport staff. So much so that they wheeled me all the way from baggage claim in terminal 1E to my table. The moment I got there, I was made comfortable. The service was excellent, although I only ordered a white beer and some fries. My ride arrived faster than expected. No worries!!! They had me all set to go very quickly.

We booked in advance per Email a table 15 Persons, and when we got there they said they had no table for us, so they gave us two tables and we had to sit separately from each other. Waitress was very rude when we asked to put the two tables together and he didn't agree with it. I went there often but this was the last time!

We had reserved the "old kitchen" in writing for our Christmas party, when we got there the very unfriendly bouncer said that it was just a request and not a reservation and that we were sitting somewhere else. At our request to reduce the number of people, we were told that this was ours Reservation would be binding. Liabilities here only apply in one direction. The starter was good, unfortunately we only had table water to drink because the waiter, although nice, rarely showed up. The main course was okay. Unfortunately the Kaiserschmarrn dessert was cold. Too bad. It wasn't a big deal this time. Table wobbles, even placed under it. The waiter spills a drink, but there isn't even an apology. The crisp duck was not crisp at all. Red cabbage just 1 tablespoon. At least there were 2 good dumplings. The breading was also on the schnitzel, the top one was just slick and the bottom one was just greasy. You were better at it...

The best German food and service I have ever experienced!

This has become a tradition before or after every flight. Weisswurst breakfast or roast in the evening. Plus a delicious light or wheat beer. Always happy and at acceptable prices for Munich!

First of all, the service at Airbräu is super friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is very cozy. But the food left more than to be desired. The landlady's favorite schnitzel was dry and tough, the breading was solid and almost sad, the "cream sauce" served was indefinable and the "cheese spaetzle" was also very dry and no trace of cheese, just soggy. ...very, very unfortunate...the potato soup was also tasteless...hope that was an exception

I was at the Airbräu's Tenne with my family for Sunday brunch and was a bit disappointed. No comparison to the brunch I knew from years before Corona. The quality of the food was high, the service was very friendly, and even though drinks were included, the offer did not justify the price of 57 euros per person. For example, cheese was completely missing from the buffet, there were few side dishes for the main courses, and the dessert selection was also manageable. Very little choice for vegetarians let alone vegans. It also had something of a canteen atmosphere (beer you can tap yourself, coffee from a pump pot), even if it was Bavarian. Live music played quickly. Maybe that's why there were fewer people there, it used to be fully booked weeks in advance. Conclusion: Poor price-performance ratio

First you are asked where you got the menu (which was on the table) and then you are driven away from the table in a teacher-like tone, which was apparently reserved (a piece of paper upside down somewhere behind the table decorations and for a time far in the past ). When you ask why the waitress is so unfriendly, things really get going... and when you leave the establishment because you can't be treated like that, you're followed by a growled "I don't need guests like that." Guests who don't want to be shouted at? Or guests who would like to be welcomed? It feels like it's getting worse and worse in Germany.

A reservation for 20 people was made 3 months ago. On the day of the reservation we were only given 16 seats, not at one large table as agreed, but at two small tables opposite. When we asked how this could happen despite a reservation, we only got the answer that the previous tables were not occupied in terms of time, although only 2 hours were set aside for the table. One of the unfriendly waiters I've had the pleasure of experiencing so far... blames the guests for incomplete/incorrect dishes, one stupid comment after another and simply keeps some of the change for himself without mentioning anything about tips. If you don't like your job, you should look for something else...

After two weeks abroad, this is the right start to get back into Bavarian culture

We were a registered large group for a business lunch at Airbräu and unfortunately the service was poor. We had a waiter who was in a really bad mood and took his mood out on us customers. It took a longer than average time to collect the money and in the meantime I was also insulted because he didn't seem to like our job. Despite the nice atmosphere, we left the restaurant dissatisfied.

The beer is cheap by Munich standards. However, since Corona, the portions have become significantly smaller and the quality has decreased. Unfortunately, the cheese spaetzle was just as subpar as the service and was more like spaetzle with cheese and cream sauce with limp fried onions that were like chewing gum. Unfortunately, the cellar with the ponytail was having a bad day. The guests at the next table were first seated at the table by another waitress and then driven away by him. According to his statement, they don't have to sit there and they should leave because he wants to finish work and they can't read the sign. You should clarify this with the waitress. In my opinion, it is not the guest's job to resolve disagreements between the staff. Our food was passed to us listlessly all over the table. The drinks were somehow slammed on the table. His own drink was also repeatedly slammed loudly on the table and snatched loudly, clearly signaling to us that we should finally leave at 8 p.m. There was no second round of drinks. For this purpose, the table (the only table in the next room) was always turned away or my colleague was told to tell me so that I didn't have to serve under any circumstances. We just wanted to eat something at Airbräu in Terminal 2. After the outside area was completely occupied, we went inside. The employee there told us that the interior was only for staff. Sitting in BOCONERO now, they want our money.

We visited the place during a layover. We visited during breakfast so maybe, I hope, it’s a limited menu. We ordered some Weisswurst for 14 euros and they were average at best with the Brezel bread next to it being quite hard and bland. I ordered a Bloody Mary, an airport staple, and easily the most uninspiring one I’ve had, without ice or garnish and just not there with the flavor, maybe better to stick to beers. While service is decently good, the prices even for an airport leave a lot to be desired.

Very unfriendly service who told us several times that evening how long she had to go to the bar and kitchen. The food came almost too quickly that I suspect that everything must have been pre-cooked. The food wasn't hot either. The food has also gone down a lot.

In recent years I have eaten at Airbräu several times before departure. The home-brewed beer is good. Everything else, such as the ambience, service and especially the food, is now unfortunately far below average. The service is unfriendly, the menu is slapped on the table, etc. The food is carelessly prepared and really not good. We had a veal schnitzel for just under €30 and cheese spaetzle. Schnitzel dry, small and dripping greasy from the deep fryer. Käsespätzle is ready-made pasta in some kind of cream-cheese-mushy sauce. Dear Airbräu team, I am actually disappointed in you! That was nothing and has gotten much better in recent years!!

Flying through Munich regularly, my last trip had lined up with the last day of Oktoberfest - well the weather decided for me I’d stay at the airport for my nine hour layover. The lounge attendant recommended Airbrau as an option for good beer, good food and a place to spend time and fresh air. Honestly had forgotten this existed as normally I hope the S-bahn downtown for any lengthy layover. Food was great, very strong menu for “airport food”. Beer selection too was top notch (and let’s be honest, it’s Germany, how bad can the beer be?). Two hours later, I headed for the shops to stretch the legs. I won’t forget this next time as a reasonable option. Yes, it is outside security but it also provides some fresh air. With longer layovers, well worth going back through security if you store luggage within security or have checked your luggage.

Best place to eat in Münich airport! This time we decided to order from the daily menu. Good thing we ordered one to share instead of ordering two diff meals because the portion was huge and enough for both of us. I suggest you to do the same. Besides, they also make their own beer, which tastes very good 🍺

10 minutes until we had a ticket. The waitress seemed to have absolutely no interest. I ordered roast pork with bread dumplings. My food arrived later than a burger, which was probably edible, after about half an hour. It was cold. I wanted to return it, but the waiter couldn't be found. I ate the white cabbage salad and the roast crust. The dumplings were cold and slippery on the inside and watery and cold on the outside. I suspect that they were overcooked, then left lying around, and then thrown back into the water for a bit before they were allowed to cool again before serving. The roast was okay, but it had waited too long on the plate. I happened to have a lunch box with me and packed the stuff. (The meat could be used in stew at home and the dumplings, cut open after frying in butter, were edible.) When the waiter finally appeared again, he offered a cup of coffee to compensate. I then got myself a sandwich at the airport before departure.

This place doesn't deserve any stars. Very rude and arrogant. 1. Got my son's order wrong - gave him a vegan burger instead of the real thing and almost refused to replace it because he'd started eating it??! 2. Made a rude comment to my daughter as we were leaving. The big Indian guy should be sacked. Not sure how this place gets any business!

Fantastic brewpub just outside the terminal. The Brotzeitbrettl board with the spice butter tastes phenomenal with the bread provided. Would recommend!

I had been looking forward to a beautiful pork knuckle for DAYS leading up to my arrival. Only to arrive, and they announce the kitchen is closed an hour before their listed hours :( a huge disappointment and loss of faith

Unfortunately there was only enough time for a quick “light drink” as our service staff was already at the end of their shift in an hour!

We invite you to stay! First, wait 20 minutes until one of the many waiters gets comfortable taking your order. Afterwards, even for simple dishes, it takes half an hour until you finally don't eat. Deceleration is very important here, life is stressful enough! It's already turbulent at the airport, so you can relax for a bit before the gate closes. Butter the fish: the beer is cheap and good, the food is delicious too, but what's the point if the service is miserable so I can just gulp everything down?

Unfriendly all the way out there, the guest is annoying, only whining from the staff because of overload even though there's nothing going on, waiter closes the restaurant and sends 15 customers away because a colleague is on break..., unbelievable... but unfortunately true!

5* Quality, service and atmosphere

Long wait for the food and the food itself wasn't the best quality, especially in terms of price and performance

Food for an airport location can definitely be described as good. The exposed location and the surroundings are fine, and the prices are also appropriate. The service was (and this is only a snapshot) better described as satisfactory to good. A little more attention definitely makes sense. Otherwise it's fine. Addendum: been there again and the service was without complaint. Prices are currently perfect. Definitely recommended if you are there.
