Airbräu in Oberding

Normally we always loved this place. But after the service today, I don't know if we will come again. The restaurant was relatively full, but the sign on the door said 'free seating'. We then accidentally sat at a reserved table (it was really hard to see from the wooden stand - you might want to rethink that. There were people sitting there again after us.) then we went to the neighboring table, which was already empty, but still had the two empty glasses on it. After all, there was a lot going on, so it wasn't a problem for us to wait. The waitress then asked us why we were sitting at a table that still had the dishes on it and who gave us the drink tickets (which were lying on the railing next to it). And in a very unfriendly way, because “there are 10 tables free on the other side of the restaurant”. When we asked what the problem was, he then asked whether we would also sit at a dirty table at home. (Unfortunately I still don't understand what the problem is...) He then said, "I would like to just let you sit here for an hour and not serve you, because you don't do that. But today I'm in a good mood, so you can have something." ...I've really never experienced anything like that!!! Unfortunately, I lost my hunger, even though I was really looking forward to the restaurant and the food. After he brought us the drinks, he didn't even look at us again. He didn't even come to pay, even though we sat right in front of the kitchen with empty glasses for almost 30 minutes, so we had no choice but to put money on the table. It was truly a shame the way he treated us. I work regularly in service myself and know that it is not an easy job and that there are really difficult customers. But such behavior as a waitress is absolutely unacceptable. Since I always found it nice here, I got a 2-star rating. I would like to give 0 stars for this service! To the Air-Bräu: Please assign the tables or put up a sign stating that tables that have not yet been cleaned may not be occupied. I really don't want you to lose any more customers as a result. You don't even experience something like that in an underground restaurant...

In recent years I have eaten at Airbräu several times before departure. The home-brewed beer is good. Everything else, such as the ambience, service and especially the food, is now unfortunately far below average. The service is unfriendly, the menu is slapped on the table, etc. The food is carelessly prepared and really not good. We had a veal schnitzel for just under €30 and cheese spaetzle. Schnitzel dry, small and dripping greasy from the deep fryer. Käsespätzle is ready-made pasta in some kind of cream-cheese-mushy sauce. Dear Airbräu team, I am actually disappointed in you! That was nothing and has gotten much better in recent years!!

Flying through Munich regularly, my last trip had lined up with the last day of Oktoberfest - well the weather decided for me I’d stay at the airport for my nine hour layover. The lounge attendant recommended Airbrau as an option for good beer, good food and a place to spend time and fresh air. Honestly had forgotten this existed as normally I hope the S-bahn downtown for any lengthy layover. Food was great, very strong menu for “airport food”. Beer selection too was top notch (and let’s be honest, it’s Germany, how bad can the beer be?). Two hours later, I headed for the shops to stretch the legs. I won’t forget this next time as a reasonable option. Yes, it is outside security but it also provides some fresh air. With longer layovers, well worth going back through security if you store luggage within security or have checked your luggage.

Best place to eat in Münich airport! This time we decided to order from the daily menu. Good thing we ordered one to share instead of ordering two diff meals because the portion was huge and enough for both of us. I suggest you to do the same. Besides, they also make their own beer, which tastes very good 🍺

A brass band was already playing for the morning pint. Super rustic restaurant with delicious wheat beer

10 minutes until we had a ticket. The waitress seemed to have absolutely no interest. I ordered roast pork with bread dumplings. My food arrived later than a burger, which was probably edible, after about half an hour. It was cold. I wanted to return it, but the waiter couldn't be found. I ate the white cabbage salad and the roast crust. The dumplings were cold and slippery on the inside and watery and cold on the outside. I suspect that they were overcooked, then left lying around, and then thrown back into the water for a bit before they were allowed to cool again before serving. The roast was okay, but it had waited too long on the plate. I happened to have a lunch box with me and packed the stuff. (The meat could be used in stew at home and the dumplings, cut open after frying in butter, were edible.) When the waiter finally appeared again, he offered a cup of coffee to compensate. I then got myself a sandwich at the airport before departure.

Not just worth a visit before or after a flight. It's lucky for all tourists to have such a good Bavarian restaurant at the airport. Staff are always in a good mood Hopefully you'll stay around for a long time

This place doesn't deserve any stars. Very rude and arrogant. 1. Got my son's order wrong - gave him a vegan burger instead of the real thing and almost refused to replace it because he'd started eating it??! 2. Made a rude comment to my daughter as we were leaving. The big Indian guy should be sacked. Not sure how this place gets any business!

It tasted better than any beer I had in Germany. No, it's the most delicious thing I've ever had in my life. I will definitely go again someday.

Fantastic brewpub just outside the terminal. The Brotzeitbrettl board with the spice butter tastes phenomenal with the bread provided. Would recommend!

I had been looking forward to a beautiful pork knuckle for DAYS leading up to my arrival. Only to arrive, and they announce the kitchen is closed an hour before their listed hours :( a huge disappointment and loss of faith

One star is still too many! Unfortunately, it is part of Airbäu's “tradition” that “new guests” are welcome. be ignored for 10 minutes. Passing waiters don't even look at newcomers! Unfortunately there was only enough time for a quick “light drink” as our service staff was already at the end of their shift in an hour!

We invite you to stay! First, wait 20 minutes until one of the many waiters gets comfortable taking your order. Afterwards, even for simple dishes, it takes half an hour until you finally don't eat. Deceleration is very important here, life is stressful enough! It's already turbulent at the airport, so you can relax for a bit before the gate closes. Butter the fish: the beer is cheap and good, the food is delicious too, but what's the point if the service is miserable so I can just gulp everything down?

Excellent food and relaxing atmosphere with option to sit as close to (or as far from!) the live music, depending on your preference. The potato soup was amazing! And beers come in 0.5 and 1.0 liter options.

Unfriendly all the way out there, the guest is annoying, only whining from the staff because of overload even though there's nothing going on, waiter closes the restaurant and sends 15 customers away because a colleague is on break..., unbelievable... but unfortunately true!

Food for an airport location can definitely be described as good. The exposed location and the surroundings are fine, and the prices are also appropriate. The service was (and this is only a snapshot) better described as satisfactory to good. A little more attention definitely makes sense. Otherwise it's fine. Addendum: been there again and the service was without complaint. Prices are currently perfect. Definitely recommended if you are there.

5* Quality, service and atmosphere

How long we waited for our flight! We got hungry and thought, let's try Airbrau. There is a brewery there that was celebrating its anniversary, so we got a pint of beer for 4 euros. Very nicely decorated, the waitresses are very, very nice, the food is very tasty. And to think we were still in an airport! We felt very comfortable there and would definitely go there again.

Yesterday we were at Airbräu again. This time I was a little disappointed. The beer was very good as always! Our waiter was very rude and grumpy. My husband's potato soup was very tasty, my gourmet potato was cooked too long, not a baked potato. While clearing away the waiter asked if it was tasty... my answer was NO, he simply ignored it. Too bad. Hope it will be better next time!

The Airbräu in the heart of Munich Airport is a real hit (also in terms of price) if you want to experience real Bavarian flair again during a trip while stopping or waiting for the next flight. I had the opportunity to try the sausage salad there and I have to say – I really loved it! It came to the table wonderfully fresh, beautifully presented with onions, pickles and perfectly seasoned dressing. There was also bread and a wonderfully crunchy pretzel - a perfect combination for me. Although the Airbräu was very well attended, I felt really comfortable there. The incredibly large beer garden for an airport (where else can you find something like that?) invites you to linger, and the atmosphere is just great. You can tell that Bavarian hospitality reigns at Airbräu. I think it's particularly great that you can get authentic dishes like roast pork, cheese spaetzle or white sausages right in the middle of the airport, even though I decided on the delicious sausage salad that day. The menu definitely has a lot to offer and I'll be happy to come back to try more. There are also homemade beers at a really good price for the airport and Munich. So if you are at Munich Airport and want to experience a piece of Bavaria, Airbräu is the best choice. The sausage salad was great – and I can imagine the rest of the menu being just as impressive! A real insider tip for travelers and Bavaria lovers alike.

We were at Airbräu yesterday (October 1st, 2024) after our flight landed at 9 p.m. We weren't sure if we would get anything else because the homepage says that there is only kitchen until 9 p.m. But there is still a small menu from 9-10 p.m. Maybe you can mention this on the homepage. Overall it was a successful stay. The waiter was friendly, attentive and on point. We both had the schnitzel. It tasted very good and the portion was more than generous. When I'm at the airport again and I'm hungry. Then I'll definitely stop by again.

The staff was very friendly and attentive, but we definitely can't recommend this restaurant for eating! Beautiful beer garden in a special place. The beer is great and pretty cheap by Munich standards. Especially since everything at the airport is actually more expensive. In terms of food, I can only rate the Obatzde and it was quite good 👍.

First things first: the beer price is surprisingly low for airport and Munich standards at €3.70 for a half! What's more, these are home-brewed beers that taste impeccable. What an idea! A unique beer garden for an airport. This is a pleasant way to start your vacation. Unfortunately, the pork knuckle was very dry, you could tell that it had been warmed up and therefore very dried out, especially around the edge. Otherwise the food was good.

Nice stay, the Fliegerquell is recommended, as is the Bavarie Burger, it's just a shame that the cheese for the Bavaria Burger costs extra and is not included in the price. The Biergarten was very cool! The beer was tasty and since it’s the first day of Oktoberfest there was a lot of signing and performing which created a great atmosphere for those who were just connecting via the Munich airport and didn’t have a chance to go to the city

After a tour of the airport, we had dinner here with a larger group and sat in the covered and cozy beer garden. The service was quick and friendly! The drink and dish we ordered were served quickly and it tasted delicious!! Highly recommended!

Wow! This place was worth the wait to be seated!! There was live music playing when I dined here. The prices are amazing for being at the airport - 7.5 euro for 1L draft beer!! I ordered 1/2 order of pork knuckle on the suggestion of colleagues. My first time having it and it was so delicious. The portion size was very generous, so much so that I was unable to finish it all. Service was top notch. Very busy place, but they are able to make conversation and keep things lively.

You can get freshly made 🍺 next to the airport. 500ml 🍺 costs €3.7, which is a good value for Europe, where prices are high 🎵 I was also able to try the Schweinebraten (€9.9) that I wanted to try, so I was happy. We have been there several times and have always been very satisfied. Unfortunately, last night we experienced the complete opposite. The waitress who served the tables on the outside in the beer garden didn't greet us, let alone felt it necessary to come to our table and take an order. Service was great and Beer was cold and good selection. They seem to have their own German brand of beer. Easy right outside terminal 1. Got a sampler plate that was pretty descent then got the steak and baked potato with grilled veggies. Grilled veggies were really good and the baked potato had a sour cream butter combo and gravy that made it pretty good but steak was almost too chewy to eat. Left quite a bit because of the grissle etc....

I called today at 4:30 p.m. to reserve a table for 8 p.m. I was told that no reservation could be made because one had to register 24 hours in advance. When I asked why I couldn't enter my reservation into the calendar at short notice (this is also possible with all other restaurants), I got the answer: "Because that's what I was told." - No further questions. We then go to where people are happy to have guests.

On September 6th we were literally blown out of the restaurant by the new band "Volume replaces quality" - an impudence at 90 decibels!

The food is good but the service is awful. The concierge at the entrance told us to go in the very back of the beergarden and grab a table there which we did. After almost 20 min. waiting to be served we were waving a waiter who claimed that it was not his table. We waived another waiter who was very upset and shook his head, but decided to come. He told us the area where our table was is closed but there were no signs and tables around and next to us were served too. Up until now it was our favorite ritual to complete our Munich visits 3 to 4 time a year in the Airbräu. Unfortunately, the service is so bad that we decided to not come back anymore. Although I asked the waiter 3 times to replace the Krautsalad with the Ismaninger Fasskraut (Sauerkraut) he kept bringing Krautsalat and then accused me in a very rude way that I told him Krautsalat. He also refused to send his shift manager. This was now the third time in a row that we had such a bad experience with the waiters at Airbräu. Very rude, unfriendly and spreading stress all over the place.

I can only agree with the reviews of other visitors. The service is bad. Very unfriendly. Seems stressed, even though it's half full and I counted 10 service staff. The gentleman at the entrance who is supposed to assign you a seat, as it says on a large sign, preferred chatting with his friend and ordering cigarettes rather than greeting the guest and assigning me a seat. Well at least the beer was really good and the prices are fair for an airport That'll rip it out again.😉

An absolute highlight - you don't actually go into an airport establishment with such high expectations. That's why I went inside twice this week. What absolutely fascinated me personally was the quality of the food and the service. Fresh pork knuckle, great crust and, above all, juicy meat. Plus the typical Bavarian addition and of course a wonderful beer - which Airbräu brews itself. To be honest, I'm already looking forward to my next visit 😀

Extremely bad experience from start to finish. First of all, the lady who served us, a lady in her sixties with white hair and a hair clip on her head, was very grumpy and rude. When I decided not to take the beer he looked at me very badly, I have never felt humiliated like that and he should treat your customers well, you can't look at them badly. Normally my boyfriend and I always give a tip if we have a good time in a restaurant, but obviously she didn't deserve it. And he demanded a tip during payment, as if he deserved it and as if it were obligatory. When we didn't leave a tip she looked at us very badly again and remained staring at us. I don't recommend it if you don't want to be treated badly.

Extremely bad service! Absolutely not recommended! After 40 minutes there were still no white sausages, the service today took a little longer. Everyone around us who ordered later received their food and white sausages quicker. Conditions were very rude! The wheat was ok for the price.

In Munich, you can enjoy Weißburst, which can only be eaten at a limited time and place in the morning, and Maß's Weißbier, which is also not available in Munich. In the morning, customers are allowed to sit on any available terrace seats, and are not allowed to use the indoor seats. It gets crowded during the day, so the staff will guide you. Weißburst's photo was classified as an "obscene image" by Google, so I can't upload it🤣🤣🤣

Lost control of the beer garden! I have been a loyal regular customer at Airbräu for years, try to fly over Munich if possible to pay another visit and am very sad about the rapid decline of this restaurant/brewery. After there was a noticeable change in the service staff, absolutely nothing works anymore. Overwhelm is expressed through arrogance and rude statements, there is no eye for new guests, empty glasses or plates, with the exception of the waitresses who are still part of the “old guard”. belong. Recently there is a man in neutral clothing standing at the entrance who is supposed to be a shift manager or usher, but he only makes the situation worse. He jokes with the female waitresses, who grudgingly accept the constant hugs and kisses while you have been waving and trying to pay for 20 minutes. Other guests wait for him to assign them a table and then leave. The food has also become significantly more expensive, while the portions are getting smaller. Swiss sausage salad came out of the fridge ice cold and hard, snack plate was fine, but used to have a lot more choice and quantity for just under €14 - a shame. As always, the beer alone is a dream, without it I would avoid the place by now. Dear Airbräu team, please make sure that you become a team again and are in the mood for a guest house atmosphere in this special place. It would be a shame!

We actually wanted to have a leisurely drink of half a beer. Waited at the entrance as the sign says. 4 waiters passed us directly to the cash register at the entrance. No attention/welcome whatsoever. Just sad for a Bavarian beer garden in the airport where guests arrive from all over the world. The beer garden wasn't even well filled. That's definitely not how Bavarian friendliness works!!! Absolutely not recommended!!!

Very bad service. They gave us the menu and it took about 30' before they took our order. Don't go if you have a short waiting time for your flight. Furthermore, the waiter said that it was compulsory to pay a tip in Germany, at least 7%. Not true. You can leave any amount, including 0% (as we did). The food was OK, but the lunch was ruined by the bad service.
