It tastes good, but there's not enough for the price! You can get more elsewhere in Jena! Otherwise, everything is fine and the service is good too!

Pretty bad food in a cold, cramped, and noisy environment. I ordered a trio of starters – chicken yakitori, gyoza set, and edamame beans. The yakitori was very underwhelming – 6 small pieces of tough chicken on two skewers with a bit of sweet soy sauce. The gyoza felt stale and their various fillings were rendered indistinguishable, having been drowned in sickly sweet teriyaki sauce. The edamame bean pods were inedibly stringy and undercooked, confirming that this establishment cares neither about quality ingredients nor basic cookery skills. Staff were attentive and service was prompt, and the meal was relatively cheap (15€), but this is no consolation for faux-Asian cuisine that wasn't even passable.

Great food with a large selection, including plenty of vegetarian dishes, nicely decorated and super friendly staff; even when it's busy they remain calm, friendly and take their time.

In my opinion, 969 Kyoto is a little insider tip for anyone who isn't from Jena or the surrounding area. This small shop is located in one of Jena's many beautiful alleys, yet is still quite central. The shop is impressive both inside and out. A super relaxed atmosphere meets very attentive and friendly service. The entire shop is very clean, and you just really want to spend time there. The food is, in my opinion, fantastic, and everyone will find something to satisfy them. I'm always happy when we're in Jena and can and are allowed to eat there. Best wishes to the entire team. Great restaurant!😍I went there with friends and the atmosphere was immediately relaxed. The service was super friendly and fast. The food was really impressive – my favorite was the sushi. The prices are absolutely fair for the quality. The music was also pleasant, not too loud. Everything was clean, even the restrooms: small but nicely designed. I highly recommend the restaurant!

We've been living in Jena for five weeks and have already ordered from here three times! Delivery times were always met, the food arrived still warm, and it was sooooo delicious! Highly recommended!!! 👍🏻

A small and very fine restaurant. There's plenty of parking at Eichplatz/Eulenpark. Due to the good weather, all the seats and tables were set up outside, so we were able to bring our dog with us, which we were very pleased about. The service was good and friendly. Since we initially only ordered drinks, it took quite a while for our food order to be taken. After that, everything went very quickly. The selection is large, yet manageable. We all enjoyed the creations very much; even my son (7 years old) enjoyed the sushi, especially the fried rolls. All in all, we slightly overordered and had the rest packed up. To finish off, everyone had mochi balls for dessert; they come in five or six different flavors. We were able to devour three (mango, passion fruit, matcha) and were delighted with all of them. I highly recommend a visit! 🫡 In the future, I'd like to see a mixed platter for two or more people; that would be the icing on the cake.

Not allergy-friendly! The food itself was very tasty, and the service was also very friendly. At least until my meal from the vegan menu suddenly contained a crab leg. The waiter explained to us that they don't change or clean the wok between dishes, but rather prepare one dish and then immediately prepare the next in the same wok. Crustaceans are an allergen; this method of preparation is unsuitable for allergy sufferers and, to say the least, unpleasant for vegans. They apologized but didn't offer to deduct anything from our bill.

Unfortunately, the people in the restaurant speak terribly bad German. But luckily, the sushi is delicious. The wasabi isn't spicy, and there's too little soy sauce for 24 pieces of sushi, which I don't think is very good.

A very nice Japanese restaurant with good sushi and warm Japanese and Asian dishes. A complementary selection of drinks, including various teas, Asian beers, and homemade lemonades, completes the offerings. Centrally located in the Sonnenhöfe district, it offers comfortable seating both inside and outside. The staff is friendly and helpful.

I have been here several times. One of my most favorite restaurants. Their specialty is the food quality. You must need to reserve for dinner otherwise it is difficult sometimes to get a table. For lunch reservation is not needed. Highly recommended.

Small, exquisite, and simply delicious! We ate at Kyoto during Pentecost – and our expectations were fully met! We had ordered food to take home several times before, and it was always truly delicious. But the experience in person was even more special. The service was attentive, friendly, and pleasantly unobtrusive – we felt completely at home. We especially loved the homemade lemonade – super refreshing and perfect for quenching our thirst. The food is simply fantastic! The sushi variations are creative, fresh, and incredibly delicious. The wok dishes also impress with wonderful flavors and loving presentation. Everything is perfectly seasoned and leaves you wanting more. Our personal highlights: the sashimi mix and the shao mai – highly recommended! A true culinary highlight in a cozy atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

Ordered with Uber Eats. The food was even delivered before the estimated time. The individual components of the dishes were packaged separately so that nothing could get soggy. I ate at 969 Kyoto for the first time last week (Thursday). The atmosphere was very nice and authentic. I ate UDOMI with fried chicken. The food was very tasty and the portion was perfect and fair to the price. You should definitely always serve a table. Even though it was a weekday, every table was occupied. The staff were friendly. There was a bit of difficulty communicating but that wasn't a problem. In the end everyone had the food they ordered. Unfortunately I have to deduct the drinks. The drinks I ordered tasted great (KATSUMI and DEJAVU SPRITZ) but unfortunately half of them consisted of ice cubes. When you removed the 3-4 five cm ice cubes the glass was half empty. The price is then not justified. A huge throw of ice would have done it too. But that was the only small annoyance. Otherwise, I can happily recommend it to others and will definitely eat there again myself.

Oida salmon, what can I say, it took me long enough to find my way here, but it really tasted excellent. Had the vegan Buddha Cari and a lychee chia milk, beforehand there were a few summer rolls to warm up - it was really exceptional in terms of taste! Also very nice staff and a really relaxed atmosphere, I'm really looking forward to the next time.

Fantastic Asian Restaurant! Luckily I reserved a table for 7 p.m., definitely recommended at peak times. The service is friendly and quick. Had udon noodles with tofu - tasted excellent! There is a large selection of vegetarian dishes. The drinks prices are also very positive, the beer costs €3.50/0.5l.

Delivery rating: We ordered from the 969 Kyoto restaurant for the first time on a Saturday: to Lobeda East at a predetermined time, the order was placed directly through the restaurant's website. Everything was right here: The delivery time was almost exactly met, the food was still very hot when it arrived and the quality of the dishes is very high. Very fresh ingredients are used here, the taste is balanced and very interesting. The portion sizes are also just right. We will definitely order again. Thoroughly recommended!

A little lower 💥 for the atmosphere - there was not enough coziness. Separately, I would like to note the very good tableware and serving of dishes. It was so delicious that I had to eat it all. 💙💛

Restaurant was very full because it was the run-up to Christmas. However, the staff tried very hard to keep the situation under control. The taste of the food was OK but not very authentic. My soup and beef ramen wasn't very warm. 17.85 is a very impressive price for a noodle soup with mushrooms, corn, sprouts, spring onions, bamboo and beef.

Okay, so this is difficult. I had 2 dishes, both of which were very different in quality (1) Gyoza and karaage/fried. Super delicious!! They can definitely be fried!! And the kimchi burned well 😋 I would give it 5 stars! (2) Miso ramen. Worst ramen I've ever had 🤢 But I'm also spoiled by the Jen in Jena. Unfortunately, the miso soup was totally over-seasoned and the vegetables were barely cooked through. But the egg was great! So 1 star for the disappointing setting that I couldn't even finish because.... Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee withedeeded into eating Overall: Go here for fried food and sushi, but not the ramen. So 3 stars/golden mean. Oh! And the portions are relatively small. We were there in the evening. Everything would have been just wonderful if the kitchen employee hadn’t been making noise nearby with a box of bottles. The noise was so loud it was annoying. You come to relax and chat with friends and here...

Went there for the first time today and had a very good dinner. The staff was very friendly and the food was equally good. My friend had the inside-out sushi and loved it as well. She was equally enthusiastic about the mango tofu salad. For my part, I had a rice dish. The meat was fried crispy, as described, and the sweet potato curry was just as good. For my taste it could have used a little more spice, but all in all it was good. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the edamame. This could have been much saltier and crunchier. Nevertheless, overall the food was good and we would visit this restaurant again. Best regards

You should definitely reserve a table so that you can get a seat. The only small drawback is that the 2-person tables are very close to each other. But absolute recommendation and I'll definitely come back.🤩

The restaurant was almost full on a Tuesday evening, yet we could get a table for 2 pretty much immediately. The drinks, starters as well as the main dishes, all arrived super fast with almost no more than 10 mins of waiting time. The tempura was super crispy, the dish was made spicy according to the request. Overall, an amazing experience. :-)

This restaurant is just mega! Right at the entrance you are warmly welcomed and there is nothing to complain about at all. The food, whether sushi or noodles, leaves nothing to be desired. My absolute favorite restaurant, I look forward to a visit every time ☺️.

The food here really blew me away. The miso soup is absolutely delicious, the main course of tempura prawns was to die for. The service impresses with its friendly demeanor and speed. The food also came very quickly and was incredibly fresh. The vegetarian selection was also very good and impressed with its great, authentic taste. A minor flaw are the slightly uncomfortable chairs, but there are also others that are made of wicker and they are very comfortable. It was even brought to me upon request. The price-performance ratio is great. I can't say anything about the sushi because we didn't have any
