We had a reservation at Mama Lina last week. The tartufo pasta had a lot of flavor. The pasta tossed in a Parmesan wheel wasn't well seasoned. The portions had also gotten smaller. Not recommended for the price. The close positioning of the tables and chairs outside made it very crowded. A few fewer tables would have been better. But what bothered me most was looking at the bill. The bread with olive oil, which I didn't order and which came as a greeting from the kitchen, was charged at the end. That's completely unacceptable! I didn't order it, period! Then I shouldn't be charged for it either. 0.80 euros from each customer is how I can make money. It's not about the money, it's about the principle. It's a shame, it's always been very good there in the past. Please take this to heart!

Absolutely unfriendly staff at the summer festival in Baden-Baden. I asked at the bar if I could pay and get a drink straight away. The answer was, "No, find a table, you won't get anything here." I didn't want to be addressed informally by the girl. A friendlier response would have been more appropriate.

The ambiance was very relaxing and close to nature, which enhanced the experience. Unfortunately, our visit was rather disappointing overall. We had to wait an unusually long time for anyone to take our order, even though the restaurant wasn't crowded. Additionally, we found the menu very confusing. The dishes were neither clearly structured nor clearly described, so it took a while to get our bearings. However, the food was very good and tasty, which is why it deserves 3 stars.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this one earned it. I ordered a salad and found a live worm crawling in it. Not a little spec, not something you could miss—an actual, moving worm. That tells me the greens weren’t washed properly, and whatever food safety standards this place is following are a joke.

We ate outside on a hot day, and it was so nice because it was shaded and cool. The service was good, the atmosphere was great, and the food was delicious. We had to get a separate menu for the lobster pasta, and it was 39 euros per person (for two). We finished off the meal well with the antipasti della casa and dessert. I want to come again next time!

First of all: We weren't aware of all the social media hype beforehand. We simply picked a nice-looking restaurant online to round off our wedding anniversary and our Black Forest hiking holiday in the evening. I had my first doubts when the online reservation mentioned a dress code. Okay, "casually elegant" isn't anything special. But when I go to a pizzeria, it does feel a bit presumptuous to be told how to dress. Dressed casually elegant according to our definition, we arrived there. We were greeted at the entrance and led through the entire restaurant (which was large and empty except for two grandmas) to the terrace outside. In contrast to the interior, the terrace was packed and incredibly cramped. We would have preferred to sit inside, where it was quieter and more comfortable in the 30-degree temperature, but we simply weren't aware of all that upon arrival. However, we weren't offered a seat inside either (as I said, everything was available there). When we arrived at the table, we were asked if we wanted a bottle of water straight away, which we confirmed. We thought it was a polite gesture, as is customary in restaurants on hot days (for example, in Vienna we always got free water with our meals, even in January). In the end, this one bottle of water cost us almost 10 euros. FOR WATER! Then they brought bread with olive oil to us. We didn't order it, but we still had to pay for it. Because of the noise from the guests sitting so close together, my wife briefly sat at the corner of the table at a 90 degree angle so we could continue talking. Visibly annoyed, the waiter or junior manager or whatever (the one from the Instagram videos) told her to sit down properly again immediately, otherwise he wouldn't be able to work properly if the guests from the neighboring table, which was still empty, arrived. Fun fact: the neighboring table remained empty until we left. My wife ordered truffle pasta and I had Neapolitan pizza. The pasta was good. The pizza itself was good too. However, I always have the feeling with Neapolitan pizza that as long as the crust is perfect you can throw whatever you want in the middle. I've had better Neapolitan pizza, but it wasn't bad either. I would have preferred different cutlery with my meal. Or sliced ​​pizza. The blunt knife was good for cutting warm butter at best. The people sitting around us were probably Baden Baden's high society, or they think they are. They looked at us very unpleasantly. Perhaps these wannabe upper-class snobs with their questionable beige-on-beige attire finally noticed that the restaurant was full of working-class people. Then people were smoking at the next table while other guests ate. Another reason why we later regretted not having sat inside. Anyway, we had finished our meals anyway and paid quickly. We usually like to be generous. But we decided not to tip this time. They basically take care of that by selling water. And this fine fake society doesn't need it anyway. So we fled without dessert and got it from Furst in the form of ice cream at the McDonald's drive-thru. The employee there, who was probably working for minimum wage, was super welcoming and extremely friendly. It can be that simple. Conclusion: It's all just fake for people who are also fake and just want to hit the nearest Instagram hotspot so that the fancy pizza with the "soft and crunchy in the same time" crust can generate a lot of attention. The price/performance ratio is also not right. For normal people, a completely uncomfortable atmosphere.

One of the best restaurants in Baden-Baden.

We spontaneously stopped by 87 for dinner this evening without a reservation – and were warmly welcomed from the very first moment. The team greeted us at the bar with charm and wit, and we were immediately escorted to the beautiful terrace, where the chef welcomed us. Despite the busy schedule, the two of us were given a spacious table for four – definitely not to be taken for granted! The service was attentive, friendly, and authentic. The food and drinks were excellent – ​​everything was fresh, modern, and tastefully prepared. The atmosphere is stylish and significantly more modern than a traditional pizzeria – that's exactly what makes 87 so special for us. We absolutely cannot understand the negative reviews here. We were completely satisfied and will definitely return on our next visit to Baden-Baden!

Beautiful terrace. Polite service. Unfortunately, I also noticed that the waiter cut the bread – which, mind you, costs a small surcharge – with his bare hands, amidst dirty dishes, trash cans, etc. Almost €10 for a bottle of water and €10 for a child's portion of dry pasta is pretty outrageous... the food itself was okay. We couldn't understand the Instagram hype. That might be a matter of opinion...

The food is top-notch, and the location is beautiful. The prices are fair; you can eat at both affordable and more expensive options. I highly recommend the Mamalina restaurant.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The food was okay, and I'm happy to spend more money on food if everything is perfect. So, it wasn't a problem. I found the restaurant itself very appealing, but we were seated on the terrace with dozens of other people, close together. We didn't get to see much of the interior. Communication would also be nice. It would be nice to be informed that bread costs 0.80 cents per person. The bottle of water you receive initially also costs just under 10 euros (not on the drinks menu). Fun fact: We didn't notice anything about the social media presence and just wanted to go out for a nice meal in the area. We didn't feel like having dessert. We treated ourselves to a delicious dessert at McDonald's. Even the employee at the drive-thru counter was 10 times friendlier than the one in the restaurant. So, we could very well understand many of the reviews here and would advise against another visit. It's a complete disappointment, especially for special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries. Because the restaurant only offers you the unique feeling of not wanting to return there again.

We visited the restaurant for the first time and discovered it via Instagram. The bread service with olive oil beforehand was great. The service was super friendly, child-friendly, and accommodating. The antipasti was delicious but not a revelation. I was disappointed with the beef tartare. I had specifically ordered truffles on top and initially thought they had forgotten them. No smell, no taste. I thought that at this price range, the summer truffle would be shaved right at the table. In terms of taste, they could have done without that. The main courses were okay, but again, they weren't a flavor explosion. The pasta with asparagus pieces was good, while my pasta with veal ragù was rather bland and boring. The tiramisu for dessert, however, was convincing and a dream. Nevertheless, Mamma Lina didn't impress us. We won't be regulars. I also find it questionable that a €0.80 bread service charge for a €170 bill for two adults and one child should be included. This should already be included in the water price of over €9 per bottle. In my opinion, it's too much of an Instagram show than actual culinary skills.

Incredible food, the pizza is amazing, so is the fried octopus. The waiter was very nice, attentive and everyone is speaking english. I definitely recommend this place.

Firstly, the food is incredible. I had one of the best pizza, and my husband was very impressed and happy with the octopus he ordered. The atmosphere is extravagant, it feels like you're dining in Italy and the vibe is very intimate and nice. Secondly, the service is incredible. They mistakenly threw away half a takeaway burger and when they realized the mistake, they made us another burger entirely to take home.

We've been sitting here at Mama Lina's for an hour and a half now. The system by which the food is "distributed" here is unfortunately not clear to us. I don't understand why a ready-made lasagna and two octopuses can't come out of the kitchen in a reasonable amount of time. Please don't get me wrong, I'm normally a very patient guest. This is probably also evident from my other reviews so far. All the tables that arrived after us were served. Maybe it was our noses that had something to do with it. The food itself was okay in terms of taste and quality. But nothing more. Perhaps they should rethink their service concept? Adding a coperto (bread and oil service) to the bill without being asked is pretty cheeky. Especially since the oil has a bitter taste.

We booked in anticipation of highly reviews Resturant in Baden Baden. The owner was very rude and was somehow serving us. Had to ask for water to wine without him being asked once if we needed anything or food was ok. Pizza was stone cold. Carpaccio was dark brown instead of being pink. When bill came he even charge comped desert for birthday. And we had ordered our own desert Already. When I inspected the bill he said he made a mistake and charged 20 euro for service which suppose to be a tip of my choice. When asked rudely answered and made remark about me being angry in front of my family where as I was just asking politely what it was. I wouldn’t recommend or go here again ever. Beware.

An absolute recommendation for pizza in Baden-Baden! The pizzas are not only particularly creative, but also top-notch in terms of taste – definitely not your run-of-the-mill selection. The service is super attentive, friendly, and fast. What makes it all perfect: the incredibly beautiful ambiance and the stylishly designed outdoor terrace – ideal for a relaxing evening. Excellent Italian food in Baden Baden with very good quality but k wouldn’t say the same for the very slow service and limited servers

I can only comment on the pizza (2 slices). They were good; the crust was among the better in the area, the toppings were interestingly seasoned, slightly spicy, the mozzarella was authentic, and the other cheeses were also of good quality. It's clear that this can't be a cheap pizza; it costs a bit more. The only thing we found was that the toppings were too moist in the middle of the pizza, which made the thin crust soggy. On the other hand, every bite was delicious. The chef's service was very friendly, on the terrace under the umbrella.

We ordered a leaf salad, but all we got was just that: a few leaves. No tomato, no carrot, nothing fresh to go with it. For €6, you definitely expect more. Before we were even seated, we were asked directly if we wanted water, which costs just under €10. The drinks menu is only available digitally via QR code. You have to scan it, which isn't very hospitable. Overall, the visit was disappointing. Based on the social media profile, we had expected much more, both in terms of food and service. It couldn't be better! If you're looking for an Italian restaurant in Baden-Baden, you have to make a reservation here! We had lunch here with six people in advance of the event at the Festspielhaus – all six of us were absolutely thrilled! A friendly team that is helpful and prompt, thoughtful and considerate, even when something goes wrong or the weather (we sat in the gazebo in the garden) is crazy. At mammalina, you get authentic Neapolitan pizza the way it should be: a light, slightly crispy crust, a wonderfully soft base, and the highest quality ingredients. You can taste the passion and attention to detail that goes into making it here with every bite. Whether it's a classic Margherita or creative homemade creations – every pizza is a little piece of Naples. The tomato sauce is fruity and fresh, and the Fior di Latte provides the typical mild, creamy flavor – just like in Italy. The ambiance is just right: warm, modern, and cozy at the same time – you immediately feel welcome. The service is friendly, attentive, and fast. mammalina completely impressed us with its culinary offerings – we'll definitely be back and wholeheartedly recommend it!

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is absolutely terrible. You have to wait 10 minutes to get in, even though you have a reservation. The spaghetti carbonara was inedible. The appetizer was quite good. The server was nice and asked several times if we wanted anything else. In the end, however, we had to wait about 30 minutes to pay. We asked several times. On top of that, the people waiting were pressed close to our table, making the atmosphere uncomfortable towards the end. I therefore cannot recommend a visit!

A great shop with excellent food

Unfortunately it is very expensive to spend an evening here, it makes me sad that a family has to think about whether it is possible to go out to eat there, but that is probably not what is wanted.

The food was okay, but too expensive for what you get. There are much better Naples pizzas in Karlsruhe these days. We went there for the Schlemmerblock, but it was okay. Overall, it took a long time to get our food, which is rather unusual for this style of pizza, even though it wasn't really busy. And the ambiance, well, it's in the Hirschhof, which is rather off-putting during the day, with a view down a dark, dubious alley.

Courteous and fast service. Just the right balance of fun and seriousness. The food was delicious – especially the Tortora Brothers pizza! The price isn't exactly cheap, but it's definitely worth it for the quality of the food, the service, and the location.

Great location and atmosphere, delicious food, we had two fabulous pizzas but a little overcooked, very attentive service even if very formal.

The social media presence is very professional and authentic, and it's fun to watch the stories. We were visiting Bad and wanted to get to know Mamma Lina in person. The phone reservation for that evening went perfectly, as did the timely check-in to our seats on the terrace. Then, unfortunately, the "cut" – after half an hour, we stopped a waiter who was passing by inattentively and asked if we could order drinks "at least first." This was possible after another five minutes. A short time later, bread and olive oil were brought. It took another 15 minutes to place our food order, and only after we proactively approached did a waiter come to our table. We were irritated; we didn't like the whole thing. So, about 1 hour and 10 minutes after our arrival, the food was served. The taste was a medium "good" – we eat Italian food frequently and very much enjoy it, both in Italy and Germany. Unfortunately, the food didn't conjure up a "wow" on our faces. Suddenly, it became unpleasantly loud due to the beats blaring from the speakers practically next to us. Music tastes vary, of course, and we couldn't find a connection to the dining theme. Relaxed lounge music at a reasonable volume would have been great, but this strange techno rave wasn't. We asked the waiter to turn the speakers the other way and then quickly left; we weren't in the mood for dessert or anything like that. All in all, we were a bit sad about our experience during our visit. If everything had been as real as it comes across in the Instagram stories, it would have been great—but the gap between digital and real ultimately became too wide—a shame.

Whoever hasn't eaten Tiramisu at 87 Mamma Lina doesn't know what heaven tastes like! :)

In the space of 2 weeks I was able to taste almost everything. It was all good, excellent raw materials, excellent cooking and presentation. From the appetizer to the desserts. Attentive, kind staff. Impossible to find faults. I wish everyone to continue in your success and I recommend everyone to visit this splendid place

We were there on Friday. We traveled all the way from Munich for a birthday present for my wife. We were served after waiting about 45 minutes. We were charged €1.60 for the bread basket and olive oil without any warning. The pasta appetizer was good. Everything else was terrible. The pizza was cold and watery and far too expensive. The payment process was chaotic. The waiter was a bit disoriented. Handling the gift card was a bit overwhelming for the waiter. Overall, not recommended. It comes across completely differently on social media. Unfortunately, it doesn't reflect reality.

Okay, no problem... The pizza we ordered had soggy crust. The drinks we ordered weren't served, and the waiter was very unfriendly.

Unfortunately, almost everything went wrong. The food took forever to arrive. The staff apologized, but the pizzas arrived cold. We waited 65 minutes for the food. The quality was okay, but not worth the price. Our birthday girl had a voucher for dessert, which unfortunately only came when we asked for it. The price/performance ratio isn't right. Go to L'Osteria around the corner instead.

Since we were only in Baden Baden for a short time, my son gave me a voucher for 80 euros for this restaurant. The ambiance was quite nice, the service very friendly. Before you are actually seated, you are offered a bottle of water, and the olive oil with bread is also served and later noted on the bill. In other restaurants in this price range you get something like that for free. I ordered food; the salmon on spinach tasted very good, but one dish was forgotten and brought later, which I personally find unacceptable. Tried to walk-in and was told by the host the wait would be 1.5-2 hours without a reservation despite empty tables being available. Stepped outside and made a reservation on OpenTable and walked back in 15 minutes later. Pizza and sweet tea were delicious

Traveling from Canada 🇨🇦 to Karlsruhe, Germany, to our surprise, we found out that our favorite Instagram chef's restaurant is located in Baden-Baden, Germany. It was a must for us to go and check it out. We were even more surprised to find out that he was working on the floor and even greeted/ served our table. The food was absolutely delicious. He recommended the anti pasta, which was fantastic, with great selections of fruits, vegetables, and cured meats. Pizza was baked to perfection with a great crust, very fresh ingredients. Our experience was topped by a delicious dessert. Overall, I highly recommend 87 Mamma Lina in Baden-Baden, very friendly and caring staff. Spacious open outdoor patio in backyard, also covered area.

This restaurant had been on our list for a long time, partly influenced by Instagram. Since we happened to be nearby, we spontaneously made a reservation for lunch and got a table. The pasta dishes (vodka pasta/truffle pasta) were highly recommended. We'd love to come back!

The food at Mamma Lina was truly delicious – the quality of the ingredients is top-notch, and the preparation is also impressive. However, in our opinion, the price-performance ratio is no longer quite as balanced. A pizza in the range of €19 to €24 is quite ambitious, even for an upscale restaurant – especially considering that prices have been significantly lower in the past. The drink prices, for example, over €13 for a Limoncello Spritz, are also well above average for a pizzeria. The portions could also be a bit larger. Overall, a lovely evening with good food and very friendly service, but a bit more restraint in pricing would have been desirable.

We ordered two Neapolitan-style pizzas – and were not disappointed. The dough was wonderfully light and aromatic, the ingredients fresh and flavorful. A true taste of Naples in the heart of Baden-Baden! We would especially like to highlight the service: Our waiter, Deniz, was extremely personable, attentive, and his warm demeanor made our evening perfect. You can immediately tell that the work here is done with passion – both in the kitchen and in the service. We will definitely be back and can wholeheartedly recommend Mamma Lina!

If nostalgia had a smell, it’d be that wood-fired pizza from 87 Mamma Lina—crispy edges, melty cheese, and memories baked right in. This place isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a core memory wrapped in dough. My wife and I still talk about it like it was our first love—because honestly, it kinda was. Three years later and no pizza has come close. We’ve tried, oh we’ve tried… but nothing hits like Mamma Lina. One day, we’ll be back—older, maybe wiser, but definitely hungrier. Until then, we’ll just dream of that perfect slice and pretend frozen pizza is “good enough.”

Service very attentive and friendly. Starters (tartar and seafood) tasted very good. Pizza and pasta were also very good.

Very good pizzas if you like thick dough and very good cocktails. However the prices are really extremely expensive for what it is. A bottle of sparkling water for €9. Cocktails for €15 with an ice cube almost the size of the glass... in short, there is surely better value for money if you want to eat Italian in Baden Baden.

I was warmly welcomed and asked directly where I would like to sit. The employee at the entrance was extremely courteous and accompanied me to my desired spot - a great start! Although the restaurant was very busy, the entire team was friendly, attentive and well organized. Every wish was met with a smile and you always felt welcome. The menu is incredibly diverse and creative – I didn’t even know where to start! Every dish sounds tempting and leaves you wanting more. I always enjoy coming here and can only warmly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

What can I say? The calculation for oil and bread, well. At the beginning the boss served and it was absolutely great. Unfortunately, that has diminished greatly. Food was ok and for 2 starters, 2 main courses, 1 tiramisu, 2 bottles of water and 1 small special almost 130 euros. You should also be able to expect something. I don't know if we would go again. Had the feeling no wine no espresso the nerves. It's a shame we had very high expectations and really enjoy going out and eating out a lot.

Very good restaurant, very good pizza, fast service, not very bad atmosphere, but the only thing is that a cheesecake is a bit expensive at €15 even though we see it's not a homemade cheesecake and it was supposed to be a pistachio one and in the end there was just a drizzle of pistachio coulis otherwise the rest was good.

We had to wait almost 1.5 hours for our starter and then another almost 1 hour for the main course. The food was delicious, but the price was below ground. Three small bruschettas cost 20 euros, olive oil and bread are charged extra without comment and a bottle of water costs 9 (!!!) euros. When the head waiter spoke to him, he initially reacted angrily and warned me not to let him finish. After mentioning possible bad reviews, he then bought us espresso martinis. That was nice, but unfortunately it couldn't really make up for our disappointment.

Truffle pasta definitely overrated.

Food was great, but you pay a good price for a pizza (>19€). Sometimes you wait too long until you get a card or are noticed. In the end, the service becomes sloppy if the tip doesn't seem to be what you would like. Price performance just doesn't match again... And you pay 80 cents per person for the bread without having ordered anything and assuming that it is simply a nice gesture from the house.

Very nice location inside and out, nice service, everything went quickly and attentively. It was really tasty but that's to be expected given the prices. I've eaten better Italian food and would have preferred Italian classics (fish and meat) or something special on the menu instead of burgers. The dishes are very social media hip and tailored to the margin rather than being technically complex. But delicious!

Apart from the outstanding food, the service here is truly world class. From wine recommendations to individual dish combinations, we were really more than satisfied. We will definitely come back next time we visit Baden Baden. BRAVO!

A few weeks ago we came all the way from Saarland just for pizza and pasta. I got a taste for it because of social media. And I have no regrets. Unusual recipes, great toppings on the pizza and very professional service. Our toddler son was also taken into consideration. An absolute recommendation. The fact that the boss took a moment to talk to me and sign my cookbooks rounded off the trip perfectly. Mille Gracie! Forza Napoli!

Unfortunately very disappointing. The gentlemen at the entrance and bar are simply unfriendly and unwelcoming! Our waitress, on the other hand, was very nice. Starter 20€ for what you see in the picture it's really a joke wow. I was really looking forward to the pasta, the vodka pasta was good, but the prawns were okay but nothing special. Food was awesome. I came from Heidelberg just for that reason. Service was very bad. Although there wasn't much going on, we had to wait 20 minutes to have our first drink order taken, despite multiple requests. It was very hot today and we were thirsty. We felt ignored as others who came after us were given priority. We had to constantly wait for any further orders and payments and were never asked. It was 1:30 p.m. and not too busy. So incomprehensible. Unfortunately, service greatly detracts from the brilliant food. I would recommend the bosses to train the service staff. At no time did I feel welcome. Maybe we were just unlucky. The food is definitely awesome and recommended.

Super.. I enjoyed 2 cocktails, I enjoyed the truffle paste.. and I can say - wow... I have been and eaten in top Italian places in Naples, Sardinia, etc... but this is something unique, because the view of a green garden park in the light of lamps adds 1000%+ romance to the food.. I read some reviews and I can say to those who write negative complaints- Go to McDonald's or Kfc, buy and heat frozen pizzas and pasta...and enjoy the romance at home.. It's great here

The food was very good, great restaurant. We sat outside, tent and heater, but still very nice atmosphere. A very warm welcome… unfortunately the service at the table wasn’t that good. Bread that was ordered wasn't brought at all, the 2nd round of drinks wasn't taken... Conclusion: Good food, great restaurant, unfortunately the wrong staff was at the table that day

Food very tasty traditional Italian. Service (the earlier person at the table) was very friendly and competent, the later people, as we approached the end of our 2-hour time slot, appeared unexpectedly authoritarian. We were a large family with an elderly disabled person, and leaving the table on time was not a problem. I would recommend coming around 9 p.m. because then you won't be complimented.

We came to eat on the terrace on a Sunday afternoon and it was really calm and pleasant. The pizzas are very good. I recommend 😁

We were there on Saturday evening. We were served at the table after about 20 minutes of waiting. For a bread basket and olive oil, €1.60 will be charged without notification. The bread was cut by the waiter with his bare hands after clearing away used glasses and collecting others. 2 pizzas arrived a bit burnt after 40 minutes of waiting. Unfortunately, the tomato sugo was totally watery, which meant the pizza base was completely soaked. Another 30 minutes waiting time to be able to pay after telling the waiter you wanted to pay. All this for a proud price of €19.00 per pizza. No, I wouldn't recommend it. There are other pizzarias that prepare the food with love and serve their guests.

With a reservation you were seated on the terrace in the evening when it was 12 degrees... incomprehensible to me. After some back and forth we were seated inside after 25 minutes. The food was ok, but the service experience was unfortunately very unpleasant. When you make a reservation you should assume you can get a table in the restaurant and not outside, or at least be informed about it.

We accidentally found ourselves in the restaurant, but were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food preparation and excellent service. I definitely recommend it.

This is a decent Italian restaurant very near the concert hall, so convenient for before or after the concert. It was busy, but the noise level was acceptable. Very nice service. The food was very good if not great ….sauces lacked a little bit of complexity, but it was affordable for the location and the quantity of food. I would return.

We came to Mamma Lina with great expectations. Social media promised a lot, but unfortunately the reality was different. There's nothing wrong with the food, but you expect different service in a place like this, which was really disappointing. Despite there being little activity and a lot of staff, no one felt responsible. Other guests also sat in front of empty glasses and waited in vain for a waitress. For a restaurant in this price range, this is sad and spoils the overall impression immensely. Too bad...
