Highly recommended if you are waiting for the ferry or arriving.

The journey there is a bit of a hassle, but once you arrive, sit down, and enjoy. Prices are normal.

First time here; paid €6.20 for a 0.4-liter juice spritzer, and €10.30 for a small 0.37-liter jar of potato soup. These are prices that even the beautiful view doesn't make up for. And there are much nicer places on Norderney.

Top place to linger at the harbor or wait for the ferry.

Unfriendly staff. Complex routing. Barriers that no one understands. Too expensive for just a loaf of bread (€19). Will never come back.

The only star is for the ambiance, or rather, the view of the sea and ferries. Service was unfriendly and slow—and forgetful. The cakes weren't tasty at all. I didn't like the coffee either. The waffles are quite tasty. We won't be coming back here! Disappointed!

Norderney – a turbulent island that has lost its soul. Did you know that this island was once formed from a broken off piece of a larger Wadden island? In the Middle Ages, Norderney was first mentioned as “Norder neye Oog” – the ‘new island of Norden’. What started as a sandbank, grew into a fishing village, a whalers’ nest, and eventually into… well, a modern holiday park with little atmosphere. In the 17th and 18th centuries, men from here sailed to Spitsbergen to hunt whales. Rough sea dogs, God-fearing people, a hard existence. Then, in 1797, there was a radical change: King George III of England (then also King of Hanover) decided that Norderney should become a spa for the elite. From harpoons to hoop skirts, from salt on your lips to silver on the table. The wealthy nobility came to bathe in the sea and stroll along wooden promenades. Villas were built, a casino appeared, and the island gained grandeur. Even poet Heinrich Heine sought his inspiration here. Later, Norderney also became a strategic location during the war, with bunkers and naval posts. In the Second World War During WWII, Norderney had a military function. There were bunkers, and the island was heavily guarded. Traces of this time are still visible, for example in the bunker path and some remaining fortifications. After the war, Norderney focused again on tourism and nature conservation. Since the 1980s, the island has been part of the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site and the Lower Saxon Wadden Sea National Park. This island is a pity. Only the city district is atmospheric and the only old one. A turbulent history. And yet… when you walk around there now, it all feels a bit empty. Much of that history has been erased behind modern facades. Apartments, everything neatly arranged. Anything but spectacular. The soul of the island is still there. You just have to dig it up – in an old lighthouse and the city district. Perhaps that is the tragedy of Norderney: an island that has experienced so much, but today seems to want to forget. We understand... why the Germans like to visit our Wadden Islands so much. Where the rustling of the reeds still whispers stories, the houses are crooked with age, and the soul of the island still walks around barefoot. More idyllic. More honest. Extremely unfriendly! We used the elevator because of our sleeping daughter who was sleeping in the car . This was seen immediately and therefore we were not allowed in. Probably because of the space. An OK came from our statement: then we'll eat somewhere else. Not recommended! Unfortunately we can't say anything about the food or the ambience.

Delicious soup, unusual breads, homemade lemonade, great cakes and good coffee with a view over the southern island, the sea to the mainland. Good for waiting for the ferry, for a snack upon arrival at the port or simply as a destination for a short break after walking the beach promenade to the port. The charming service will be happy to help fulfill your wishes within the scope of its God-given possibilities. 😉

Great bistro with very friendly service, delicious drinks and a nice location. You have a beautiful view right at the harbor. The decor is very nice. The toilets are also modern and nicely decorated.

We only ordered a drink before the ferry crossing. The rhubarb spritzer was delicious and the cappuccino was hot in the cup for a long time. Ambiance is good. View of the ferry.

We went there twice in one day to warm up and have something delicious to drink and eat. The warm rice pudding was very tasty - plus a beautiful view of the harbor, a clean, cozy atmosphere and a friendly, cheeky service team ;-) Would love to come back. Happy Easter!

The place is recommended, very nice and friendly waiters (even after shift changes), with an eye on small things (e.g. the dog needs water) they serve quickly and competently.

Went there to have a coffee and were very entertained by the waiter 😀 We each had a coffee and a waffle with blueberry jelly. The waffle was amazing. Not sweet but still tasty and crunchy. We used to visit this cafe on every Ney vacation. We made two attempts with the new operator. Once we weren't allowed to sit outside despite the great weather and then the second time there was no breakfast at 12.35 because it was only offered until 12.30. The landlord comes across as anything but hospitable. We won't be coming back as long as he's there, but we have hope because we've already seen a few operators come and go at this location.

I'm really amazed at the really nice place. We have always been very satisfied and felt welcome. The food and drinks are delicious, the service is great. Now we're standing in front of it and the opening hours are until 6 p.m. and it's 5 p.m. and we can't get in anymore. Guests are still sitting there but the door is locked. The few guests (really manageable) can leave but no new guests come in. We observed that some guests wanted to go into the café, but unfortunately in vain. It's a shame - it's a shame and I realize that I'm really disappointed. I was also told on the phone that the café was already closed. Which is simply a lie!

We were there last week and after the change of operator we dared to come again. In fact the ambience is really nice, clean and great atmosphere. Service was quick - friendly and very accommodating - the only drawback was a very loud reprimand of people who wanted to use a forbidden door to the terrace. Sure, if 100 people want to walk through it - it's annoying, but do half the store really have to notice? A friendly, explanatory, calm tone can be used. Unfortunately I have to cut back on food - I had a waffle that was really great with the grits on it. My companion had rice pudding for 7.80 euros (can't remember the exact amount) with blueberry jelly on top. This portion came in a dessert bowl - really small for this hefty price. That was actually a bit of a shame and clearly too expensive for this dish. Hence my 2 stars minus. Cake was ok, but nothing outstanding, Am I coming back? I'm still unsure... but I wouldn't advise anyone!

Super delicious things, unfortunately not that much choice when it comes to “salty” dishes, but what they do have is highly recommended. Everything is homemade and you can taste it too. And you can tell by the price -- but well, you're on vacation!

We had breakfast, it was so nice.

We were on vacation with the family and wanted to have a quick drink and something to eat at 180 Degrees before we took the ferry back to Norddeich. It was 28° so we decided to sit outside. All seats outside were free except for two tables and the “lounge” which is intended for 5-6 people. An older gentleman was sitting there. There were 5 of us and so we decided to add a chair to a table for four in front of us. An older gentleman with short gray hair (we assume a shift manager) told us in a very unfriendly manner that they wouldn't actually do that because the chair would be in front of us in the hallway and that we should go to the "lounge" (this was possible not because of the gentleman who sat there). The gentleman was then sent out of the lounge by the employees so that the lounge was free. We were then told that we can sit there now and otherwise we should see where we stay... We then decided to leave the café and eat a fish sandwich at the stand in front of it. We could have somewhat understood their behavior if the café had been full of waiting guests, but it wasn't at all (and even then you can still maintain a little decency). In the same way, we didn't think it was fair to the older gentleman who was occupying the “lounge” to shoo him away from there. Conclusion: very unfriendly staff who hardly care about the guests' feelings and thus spoil your visit to this really beautiful location.

I only had a drink there because the kitchen didn't open until 12 o'clock. The service was very friendly. Unfortunately the terrace was not open. There were no reasons for this. A pity. Therefore 2x stars deducted because I was looking forward to it. The panoramic view over the North Sea is a highlight. The food offering could be adjusted again.

Yesterday I was in this great café on Norderney at the harbor for the first time. If you decide you want to go to the café there, you can either go up the stairs or take an elevator. The waiter is super friendly and always has a hearty and funny saying on his lips :) My husband and I each ate a waffle. I have to say I haven't had such a good waffle in a long time. Freshly prepared and still hot, it was divine :). I can recommend it 150%☺️☺️☺️

We visited Norderney for a short trip with our children and rented bikes to explore the island. After a few hours we were looking for a quick meal and decided on this restaurant. Looking back, we probably would have kept looking. The entrance area was neatly designed, but unfortunately also overloaded with items that didn't belong there. A wedding sign with faded flowers reinforced this impression and detracted from the atmosphere. The menu was manageable, which is generally not a bad thing. However, it would be helpful to indicate the meal times for the different menus to avoid misunderstandings. Our children wanted something from the breakfast menu while we opted for a lunch dish. However, the prices for the dishes were exorbitant, so we limited ourselves to three dishes. The lack of a children's menu was disappointing and the staff's response to this was unhelpful. The staff was attentive, but sometimes a little over-the-top in their attempts to be funny. When we asked for a children's menu, we were rather bluntly told that children could simply order from the normal menu. An exemplary service looks different. The restaurant definitely has potential, but some deficiencies detracted from our experience. The placement of the tables in the middle of the glass struts made the view difficult, and the narrow tables and difficult-to-handle chairs did not add to the comfort. Nevertheless, we believe that with some improvements the restaurant could reach its full potential. However, we regret not looking further as we may have had better food elsewhere."

The restaurant is located directly above the ferry terminal. Due to the round structure you have a 180° view. Since it's located right next to the harbor, it's a great place to while away the waiting time with a drink or something similar. A special highlight are the humorous employees.

We drank coffee and ate cake in the café 180 degrees, very 😋 and looked at the sea, just beautiful. Highly recommended! Were there twice on December 31st, 23rd. It was once again very cozy and the café with a beautiful view is definitely recommended.

The name says it all, you have a great 180 degree view of the harbor basin and the sea towards the mainland. It's nice to watch the ships come and go. The space available is relatively small. There aren't that many tables available, especially since most of them can only be occupied by two people. There are also a few tables for four people and, if necessary, tables can be pushed together to form a larger table if they are not occupied. The tables themselves don't offer much space. You can eat a piece of cake or a waffle and drink tea or coffee, but nothing more. I would choose another place to “eat out”. The lemonades on offer are great and delicious. The toilets are clean and spacious, so they can be used easily even with a wheelchair. For one. This is worth it for a short trip and a small snack. You should enjoy the view here.

We actually wanted to order Frisian cake, but we were informed that it's only available from 12 p.m. It was 11:30 a.m., but ok, waffle was also possible. Subsequent guests were also refused the cakes. There again 2 days later, 3 staff, service after half an hour, totally overwhelmed. A grandma had her suitcase with her and was reprimanded for putting it in front of the door. Frisian cake was more of a cream cake, nothing like it used to be. So we won't be coming back.

Ein feines Café direkt am Hafen mit wunderschönem Ausblick auf das Meer. Die Gerichte sind alle Handverlesen und man spürt die Liebe zum Detail. Ich war bereits mehrmals dort und bin jedes Mal rundum zufrieden gewesen. Sei es der Kuchen, die Limonade, der Kaffee und und und 🥰 Das Personal ist super schnell und freundlich 👍🏻 Hunde sind dort willkommen 🐶 Definitiv ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen!

Der Kellner war überaus Kinderfreundlich und hatte Humor. Die Aussicht oben war mega, leckerer Kuchen und Kaffee laden ein um dort auf die Fähre zu warten. Hunde dürfen auch mit rein.
