You can't eat there anymore. The schnitzels are so inedible. And expensive. The rice is dry without salt. The squid is also inedible. I often wonder why it's always so crowded. I was there for the last time today. I used to go there often because the food was good. And now I don't anymore. I wouldn't recommend it...

Catastrophe! The pizza wasn't cooked properly, and parts of my schnitzel were still raw. When I pointed this out to the waiter, he tried to explain that it was a fillet—as if that justified the rawness. Until today, I hadn't known that schnitzel is made of fillet. The Coke Zero was completely stale. An additional portion of fries I ordered was refilled three times—and still didn't arrive in time. I would have much rather spent the €96.50 for four dishes at another restaurant. After paying, we weren't even given a farewell, even though we were respectful and friendly. After I politely declined a "cappuccino on the house," the head waiter simply turned around without a word and left—obviously offended. I can only advise against paying this restaurant a visit.

Super nicely located restaurant, very tasty pizza.

My husband and I ate schnitzel with mushroom sauce and devollie. Both dishes were good, nothing special, after the mushroom sauce we had a slight stomach upset 🥘 We were with our dog - we found a place on the terrace without any problems, great service and beautiful surroundings. However, we won't be back for dinner, maybe for dessert 😊

The 12 Apostel is something of an institution in and around Hilden. That's certainly worth a visit. The pizzas are all a bit quirky, but very, very, very tasty. Otherwise, it's decent food at a fair price. The local beer is delicious, the grilled meats will satisfy men (women, too, probably), and the ice cream is also great.

The food was very good, the staff super friendly, very attentive, and immediately available when you needed them. I highly recommend it. Only 4 stars for the ambiance because we sat outside and don't know what the inside is like.

12 Apostles is always worth a visit. The food is delicious, the staff is always very friendly and accommodating, and you can take a pleasant stroll around it to avoid falling into postprandial stupor.

In my opinion, the price/performance ratio is really very good, and the food is very tasty. The pizzas are huge. It's rare to finish a whole pizza. There's one thing that really bothers me. We've often experienced soft drinks like Coke, Fanta, etc. being served without carbonation. The stuff then obviously tastes like syrup. Hence only four stars. Otherwise, highly recommended.

Our last visit to this restaurant was simply a disaster. Despite repeated, unequivocal requests for the pizza to be prepared without scampi, they didn't consider it necessary to take our allergy seriously. Instead of remaking the pizza, they simply took it to the kitchen, removed the scampi, and served it again a quarter of an hour later – an unbelievable behavior when it comes to the health of the guests. The result: a hospital visit for an allergy and a report – rightly so, because such a thing is absolutely irresponsible. And this wasn't an isolated incident: There have been several instances where incorrect or sloppily prepared dishes were simply returned to the kitchen and then served again unchanged. Apparently, they've just changed tactics and are making guests wait a little longer to maintain the appearance of freshly prepared food. Those who like cheap, mass-produced items with no quality standards might be happy here, but those who value genuine service and high-quality food should avoid this restaurant at all costs. Here, neither the attitude towards the guests nor the quality of the food is right.

A great day trip spot with an excellent restaurant and very friendly staff. In summer, there's a large terrace right on the lake. Special menus are available on several days. For example, steaks are served on Fridays. Affordable and delicious. Highly recommended. There are plenty of parking spaces, but they're often full.

I'm giving it 3 stars because the staff seemed overwhelmed. The food didn't arrive all at once; sometimes people at our table had to wait so long that the others had to start eating, otherwise the food would have been cold. The grill wasn't that great; I don't understand a grilled dish with sausages, meatballs, and small pieces of chicken and pork steak. It was dry.

A special place, it offers delicacies from morning to night, both sweet and savory. The outdoor terrace is a favorite spot, especially in summer. In the evenings, there are changing specials, such as schnitzel days, steak specials, and other favorites. The Hilden Forest and small ponds invite you to take a stroll.

I ate there for the first time today. The ambience definitely has potential if it is used sensibly. And by that I mean maintained. The food was boring and not spectacular. The service is a complete disaster. First no one came for ages, then we were finally able to order. The food arrived 16 minutes apart, so one person had finished before the other even got it. Then we asked for the bill and after another 15 minutes we were chasing the waiter, who by the way thinks he's the greatest, to pay. We would have liked another drink, but when you can't order anything. And there weren't that many guests there. All in all, we won't be coming back.

The food is OK. The service is very poor. We were immediately sent away because tables couldn't be moved together, and we were asked to split up 3:3 as a group of 6...

Went here today for all-you-can-eat ribs. The service was super fast and very friendly, the ribs were tender, and they came with refills right away. We absolutely recommend it.

The food is high quality and reasonably priced, with a wide selection of options, from coffee and cake to general meals. In the summer, it's great to sit outside in the large beer garden. We'd be happy to return.

Hello. I was there on a Friday evening (it was prawn night). At first, they told me I could sit anywhere on the terrace, but then I had to move. I ordered prawns (cold). Then they simply said, "Then order something else." I was given a new menu and looked for pizza, but the page was missing. The waiter said, "Quick, we're closing soon." Then the pizza arrived (cold). I spoke to the manager and, of course, asked him not to pay anything. He took my complaint seriously, but I had to pay the full price.

Every few months I give the place another chance, and each time I tell myself: NO. I don't know of any restaurant where so many waiters are so completely uninterested in their jobs, and where, as a guest, you feel like you have to beg to be served. So much arrogance and listlessness... and despite the many bad reviews, there seems to be no understanding. My conclusion: never again...

Absolute no-go – never again! We drove all the way from Wuppertal to Hilden – because of the "schnitzel promotion" every Tuesday. We were clearly confirmed over the phone that chicken schnitzel was also on offer. On the spot, the waiter (supposedly working there for 10 years) confirmed that this was true. We were just told to wait. Meanwhile, drinks were forced on us without being asked. Then the complete about-face: Suddenly, they said the offer only applies to pork – chicken was never included. Our legitimate complaint was met with nothing but rude replies, arrogant comments, and zero interest in finding a solution. The supposedly incompetent Ms. Shayen, who had misinformed us over the phone, was simply ignored. No one had the decency to apologize or even show a bit of leniency. Result: Of course, we had to pay for drinks – even though we never really wanted them. The whole experience was a complete disgrace. No trace of customer service, no spark of courtesy, no willingness to accommodate. Instead, we were treated like annoying beggars. Conclusion: A restaurant with a lovely ambiance – but completely incompetent, arrogant, and unenthusiastic staff. Anyone who cares so little about their guests doesn't deserve our money a second time. Never again. A complete disappointment!!!!!

We had gentlemen's toast. It was delicious and the steak was just right.

There's a wide selection on the menu, and everything we ate was delicious. The pizza is excellent and very large! Huge restaurant with a large outdoor area and ice cream parlor. The portions are quite large and therefore reasonably priced. They also have ice cream cakes, which were also delicious. Overall, highly recommended.

It's been a long time, and the menu is still the same. It resembles the taste of a commercial kitchen; delicious is something else entirely. My steak was okay, but the side dishes were unloving, tasteless, and inferior. The bacon was only half-cooked, the onions were mushy. The mushrooms were from a can, not fresh as advertised, and the fried potatoes were anything but fried. Everything seemed reheated. The food was also served within 10 minutes. Then there were four birthday parties in the restaurant, and each time a serenade was played at a deafening volume that reverberated throughout the entire restaurant. You had to stop your conversation because you couldn't hear yourself. This restaurant is no longer an option for us; we prefer to go somewhere more refined. It's pure mass processing.

We have visited the restaurant twice in total – and will continue to do so. The first visit was disappointing, but the second visit was unacceptable. During our last visit, one of our female companions ordered a pizza and specifically requested that it not be prepared spicy. The older waiter's response to this request was: "You're already spicy enough." This statement shocked us. This is clearly abusive and inappropriate behavior – a clear case of sexual harassment. Such behavior is not to be tolerated under any circumstances. We expect management to investigate this incident with the necessary seriousness and take appropriate action. While we will refrain from filing an official complaint, we would like to make it unmistakably clear that this was our last visit. We will also inform those around us about this incident and expressly advise against visiting your establishment.

It's unbelievable how incredibly bad the service was. We've been eating there ever since I was a kid, but the quality and service have gotten significantly worse in recent years. So bad, in fact, that we haven't been there for two years. Today, because of the nice weather, we thought we'd try again. Because sitting on the beautiful terrace is great. What a mistake!!! First of all, the food was okay - but we deliberately chose something that wasn't difficult to prepare. Two jacket potatoes and bread with aioli for starters. Regarding the special offer days, I'd say the poor quality and careless mass-produced items taught us not to order them under any circumstances. Now for the service: The table wasn't cleared when we arrived, but no problem, that's sure to happen soon. That's what we thought. We ordered, the drinks arrived - the table was still dirty, full of ashtrays and four empty bottles with used glasses. We asked for them first - the answer: no, I have to put the drinks down first and then I'll come back. Okay, said and done. She left and was never seen again. A new waiter brought the starter - table as usual. When we repeatedly asked to be called now, we were given an angry look. This was not his table or his job and why were we even sitting here? Unbelievable!! As if it were our fault that the table looked like that!!! The waiter slammed the starter on the table and left. Then came the main course and FINALLY a cloth for the table. We were simply speechless. The fact that some of the drinks were the wrong ones was irrelevant. But the treatment and cleanliness were abysmal. We gladly forwent the coffee. And we took with us one thing - NEVER AGAIN!!! No beer garden, no matter how nice, can save bad service and bad food.

The restaurant, with its large beer garden, was completely packed. We were lucky enough to get a table despite having a reservation. Everything was piled high with glasses and bottles, the waitress was irritated, and we had to wait forever to even order. We ended up leaving the restaurant without eating.

The waiters could be much more attentive. I ordered a schnitzel and a beer. When the glass was empty I didn't think any waiter would have noticed. My wave wasn't noticed either. When I wanted to pay because I wasn't getting anything to drink anymore, I had to wave the card so that someone would even notice me. Too bad........

Last year we bought them in this restaurant

I have never experienced such a disappointing, annoying and simply disrespectful visit in all my years. Right at the start I ordered an iced macchiato, but instead got a classic iced coffee with cream and vanilla ice cream - a dessert that was neither ordered nor requested. The waiter wasn't interested. When we asked about the pizza and burger menu, the waiter completely ignored us. He talked to other guests, never once looked at us, and did so several times - we literally felt like we were being paraded. Despite asking three times, we didn't get the tickets. When the waiter came to order, he only took orders from three people and completely ignored my brother, preferring to chat with other guests again and then left our table without my brother being able to order. At this point the situation was so uncomfortable that my brother understandably no longer wanted to order anything, apart from the fact that the waiter wouldn't have come back anyway. But unfortunately that wasn't all: My mother ordered a pizza, my nephew and I each ordered a schnitzel. The pizza arrived 20 minutes before our schnitzels - when my mother was ready, we were still waiting. When the schnitzels came, everything was cold! My nephew's triplets were raw inside, my fries were cold, dry and obviously old, the mushrooms and Béarnaise sauce were also cold. We each took two, maximum three bites - the food was simply inedible, even for a five-year-old. I have been working in the catering industry for eight years and I know: something like this can and should never happen! When we wanted to pay, we had to call the waiter seven (!) times and wait a total of 40 minutes. He kept running to other guests, laughing and chatting rather than doing his work. The other guests watched the whole thing shaking their heads - it was just embarrassing. My family ended up leaving while I stayed to pay. Only when new guests wanted to come to our table and I had to get up did he come 15 minutes later with the bill. I paid after waiting ten minutes - standing, between all the tables, like an idiot. I am deeply disappointed, upset and frankly angry about this experience. The visit was a complete disaster - both the service and the food were a total failure. It's particularly a shame since we've been to you several times in the past. But after this visit one thing is certain: never again! Finally, I would like to emphasize that many of your younger service staff (estimated between 17 and 24 years old) are very friendly and helpful. My complaint relates exclusively to the waiter in question (estimated to be 40-45 years old) who looked after us - table 111 - or at least should have - and to the poor quality of the cuisine that day.

People used to enjoy being there. Today was a disaster. The waitresses were extremely overwhelmed and there was a tense atmosphere between the team. The division into waiters, runners and a person who takes orders and bills them does not work. Unfortunately, the food was only partly tasty. Pizza wasn't any better than a frozen pizza that wasn't baked for too long and wasn't worth the price. Dishes were booked onto our table that we didn't order and in the end we were charged around €45 more. Long questions to find a contact person & only effective when you wanted to speak to the boss. According to the waitress, he was also stressed. In the end there was no apology for the mistake, but we were then paid the difference in cash. The atmosphere wasn't nice because of all the dissatisfied guests. Lots of food that took a long time to arrive and was then sent back. Some were left sitting for 2 hours. All in all, it wasn't a nice experience today, it's no longer worth the money and we won't be visiting it anymore. You should consider whether you should either hire more staff or whether it would make sense to downsize the restaurant again and focus on quality. Be it the food or the local people who serve the guests.

The ambience is nice and pleasant inside and outside. When you reorder something, you have to be very patient and take your time. Clearing away the empty plates and cups also takes a long time. The glasses stick and are not pleasant to touch. Cleared plates remain on the windowsill outside and are not nice to look at. Basically there is a bit of a lack of organization here.

Food was delicious! Were there for steak day and ate steak. The service was great. Fast and courteous. Despite the size of the restaurant, the noise level is really okay. I had feared worse, but it was ok. The steak was as it should be. The price-performance ratio is right here!

Unfortunately last time I was very disappointed... the pizza was a disaster. Too bad. I haven't been there for a long time, probably a few years. But now last time I have to be honest, the pizza wasn't worth it! It didn't taste good, I left half of it.

The dishes offer a top price-performance ratio, the service is very fast and the staff are very friendly. The atmosphere is very nice and cozy. Even when it's full it's not loud. In any case worth several visits. PS the birthday jingles could be played a bit quieter.

I was there for lunch in the middle of the week. Parking was great right in front of the restaurant, there were also parking spaces at the back but I think they have to be paid because there was a parking meter there. The restaurant is very large and offers a nice ambience with comfortable chairs where you can linger for a long time. The service was very, very nice and it was also very good (Jägerschnitzel and rum steak see picture). You can also come for coffee and cake, there is a large selection available. All in all I would say super highly recommended.

Beautifully located with great walking opportunities. With a huge beer garden where you can always find a nice spot, even with a dog. And a special ice cream offer. But the main courses were also very good. For 30 EUR each with drinks, so also at fair prices, not taken off. It certainly wasn't the last time I was there.

We went there again and thought that a not so happy experience was just due to a “bad day”. Unfortunately it didn't get any better: The large cola was served without carbonation and when we complained about it we were told that the problem had been going on for a long time and that they didn't have time to fix it. It's a shame to offer something that you know doesn't correspond to what was expected! The meat dishes in our group of 20 guests were not tasty and the side dishes did not correspond to the order. The men from service were very nice, the boss didn't show up (it's not in the legal notice either). Conclusion: we won't go back there until the owner has changed and it's been cleaned up. No recommendation!

Absolutely disappointing! I have been a guest at the 12 apostle restaurant for many years and have always been satisfied with the pizza. But yesterday I ordered a chicken burger and what I got was simply unacceptable for almost €16. The meat was pink inside, tough, tough and stringy. The taste was miserable. When I asked what type of meat was used and whether he thought it was normal, the waiter couldn't give an answer. The ambience is nice, especially in the outdoor area in spring and summer, but unfortunately the quality of the food and service are no longer at the level that I expect from a restaurant in this price range. I was particularly disappointed by the way in which dissatisfied customers were dealt with - it changed the way I looked at the restaurant a lot. Given the poor quality, I don't see the point of paying this price, which is why I won't be returning for the time being.

Very nice restaurant, whether indoors or outdoors. Great food and what many people don't even know, the ice cream there is super delicious or the cake is fantastic. We have our own ice cream factory. Always worth a visit. Great staff 👍🏻

After many years I went to the 12 Apostles again for a girls' evening. The menu hasn't changed except for a few vegetarian dishes. You rely on tried and tested methods and this seems to work. As before, all the dishes looked very good and were very large. We all decided on the Wednesday special 1kg prawns in garlic stock and were very satisfied. The mixed starters also met with our approval. Despite the previous generous portions, we still treated ourselves to various desserts, which were beautifully presented and extremely tasty. A very nice and professional waiter rounded off the lovely evening and we say with full conviction: "Thumbs up and gladly again..."

Go to the store regularly. The pizzas are super great. Huge and they have great names. But I can also recommend the schnitzel!😎

This is my second visit to this restaurant. The place is beautiful, surrounded by nature, and the structure is also very good. Service is OK but could be better. My biggest problem, however, is that vegans are practically invisible on the menu. There is only one vegan option - pasta with vegetables - which unfortunately tastes very bland. When the dish was served, the noodles were overcooked and the few vegetables were too soft. A suggestion: Vegans eat a wide variety of foods, including tofu, chickpeas, lentils, beans, and so on. We were there on a Thursday. Ribs all you can eat. The ribs were okay, but I personally didn't like the sauce. Carelessly slapped on the ribs, served with cold potato chips and salad. Good portion, yes there are supplies and the food is served quickly. But it wasn't anything special.

Heavenly enjoyment with the 12 apostles – and no one betrayed me! If food is a religion, then the 12 Apostles in Hilden is definitely my new sanctuary. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted like the 13th Apostle - with a smile, a delicious smell and the feeling that I was in the right place. The pizza? A divine masterpiece, as big as my grandma's faith and as crispy as a freshly baked miracle. And the pasta...hallelujah! I swear I briefly saw an angel on a fork. The service? Fast, friendly and with more charm than an Italian love letter - I immediately felt like I was in a telenovela (only with better food and less drama). Conclusion: If you are hungry but don't know where to go - just follow the culinary star to Hilden and let yourself be pampered at 12 Apostles. Amen and buon appetito!

Spare ribs and pancakes are great, if the cola didn't come to the table completely stale, I would give 5 stars this time, but 5€ for a non-carbonated cola is too much, a shame

Unfortunately my visit to this restaurant was a huge disappointment. The food was of poor quality - my steak was completely raw even though I ordered it well done. I even had to send my steak back twice because it was completely cooked wrong. I also found a hair in my espresso, which was really unappetizing. The waiter was a complete disaster – unfriendly and unprofessional. There was no apology, even though the mistakes were clearly obvious. For the price I expected much more. I definitely won't eat here again and can't recommend this restaurant. Send a photo of the espresso. Plus it also had to pay.

Great place for spending all day with your family and enjoying the tasty food and dessert(special the ice cream and cakes), which are the best that I ever tasted. Atmosphere and service are just perfect, you are soround with a nature and beautiful view of the lake and forest. If you visit once, you will be there every time when you are planning a relaxing day.

NIE WIEDER. Wir waren mit 10 Personen zum Abendessen. Der Laden war gerammelt voll, so das man sein eigenes Wort nicht verstehen konnte. Als die Getränke kamen, mussten wir 4 Gläser zurückgehen lassen. Gläser gesprungen, Lippenstift daran, Unsauber, warme Getränke. Man brachte uns 4 neue. Wieder 3 zurück, wegen denselben Mängel. Dann der Höhepunkt. In meinem Cola Glas war ein Deckel einer Bierflasche. Frage warum das so ist : Ziemlich hektisch heute alles. Hier konnte man mal sehr nette Abende verleben, aber das reicht.

We had dinner outside on Friday at around 3:30 p.m. There were still enough places available, but it still took a while until a service person came to us. My wife ordered a pasta dish and I ordered a pizza with gorgonzola and spinach. After a short time the pasta dish arrived, about 5 minutes later my pizza and then the drinks.. Pizza is large but completely unseasoned and tasteless.. we won't be coming back...
