If there is still an old-style restaurant with moderate prices, it is De Deele, with an enthusiastic master chef and an infinitely nice and attentive service with a friendly character. And finally, a galactically creamy ice cream like I've never tasted before. Wow. 6 stars.

Wir waren dort am 1. Weihnachtstag essen. Ich schwärme immer noch von der Antipasti. Das Essen war absolut lecker würde ich immer wieder hingehen. Der Service war der absolute Hammer, der war so gut das ich es nicht mal mitbekommen habe das mein schmutziger Teller abgeräumt wurde als ich mich mit meiner Mutter unterhalten habe. Ein ganz großes Lob der gesamten Crew für das tolle Weihnachtsessen. 👍👍👍👍👍

We had ordered and arrived and the food was not in a warm place but in front of the further food. We also thought that we should eat it cold now. We're eating and they're just cold, it's just a waste

The reservation was easy over the phone. We made a reservation straight away for 6 p.m. so that the evening wouldn't be too late because my partner, whose birthday was that day, still had an early shift the next day. Well, the whole thing about coming home early was sorted out. But one after anonther: We were initially greeted warmly, taken to the table and given the menu. The table was beautifully set with folded napkins, a tall candlestick and a good selection of cutlery. What I didn't like was that there were a lot of flies circling around our table. After a reasonable amount of time the waiter came and asked what we wanted to drink. The drinks arrived after a short wait and the evening seemed to be going well. But appearances were deceptive. We waited an hour for our starter, an Ammerland ham sandwich. By now we had finished our drinks, but the two service staff didn't have a look at our table and so we were left high and dry for a good three quarters of an hour. We were very surprised that the neighboring tables were looked after so well and were even asked several times if everything was OK, but we weren't even asked this question the entire evening. After we had waited an hour for the starter and had an appetizer in the form of a baguette and frozen herb butter, which was not spreadable even after 20 minutes, as well as a broccoli cream soup, described as a greeting from the kitchen, we were finally able to eat the Ammerland ham sandwich . The taste is really good, the ham is great. It would be recommended that you add extra dressing for the side salad, because I didn't like the dressing at all and ruined the taste of the entire salad, but that's my personal feeling. After the starter, another hour passed. In the meantime the waiter came to our table and put a bottle of water on the table and said that the main course would come soon. I chose the steak (shown in the picture). The mashed potatoes were fresh and tasty, the Bernaise sauce was nothing special. Unfortunately the steak was only lukewarm, I suspect that the steak had been sitting for quite a while. Still quite raw on the inside, but the taste is very good considering the degree of doneness. We were now hoping that dessert would be a little quicker. What can take a long time about a cheese variation that is just sliced? Well, in this restaurant the impossible is made possible. In fact, we waited another hour for our dessert to arrive and we had already been in this restaurant for a solid 3 hours by the time the dessert arrived. My selection of cheese was very tasty, but after these extremely long waiting times I didn't feel like eating anything else and had my cheese packed up. A positive thing to mention is that the waiter offered us a drink, which was on the house. So we were in this restaurant for almost 3.5 hours for 3 simple courses and it was far from full that evening. Communication with us was very difficult. The bottom line: one star for the beautiful restaurant and one star for the very good food. - One star deduction for the long waiting times, one star deduction for the unclean toilets and one star deduction for the severely limited communication from the service staff. Don't worry, we won't be coming back.
