Zur Westendhalle in Langen (Hessen)

If I want schnitzel, the Westendhalle is my first choice; friendly staff and reasonable prices.

Friendly staff, delicious food, prices OK

Today I went there for dinner for the first time in a long time. The food and service were good, friendly and nice.

It was like a journey back in time. The older ones among us often remember the "good old days" with a certain nostalgia, when restaurants were "honest," where you got good food and were also full. Restaurants without any frills where the focus was on the food. This is how it is in the Westendhalle in 63225 Langen. Upon entering the restaurant, you feel transported back at least 30 years. I was reminded of those "smoky," dark, and now outdated restaurants, but I still remember them fondly. Dark wooden ceilings, dark (clean) carpet, dark furniture, and rather dim lighting—that's how it used to be. I only waited a short time for the waitress, and she very kindly showed me a seat. The restaurant was full, and there weren't really any free tables left, but she gave me a seat at a table that had been reserved for later. The beer I ordered arrived fairly quickly, and from the menu I chose a cordon bleu with fries and salad. I didn't pay attention to the price, as I often do. The salad was very fresh, plentiful, and no frills, which I didn't need. Leaf lettuce, carrot salad, cucumbers, tomatoes, and a dressing—that's enough for me, and there was plenty of it. When the Cordon Bleu arrived, I had to swallow. I didn't measure it, and I have no idea how heavy it was, but the plate was about the size of a pizza plate, and the meat stretched from one edge to the other, covering almost half of it. The rest of the plate was filled with fries. Not the usual ones, though; they almost looked homemade. I don't know if that was the case; the "ready-made" ones you can buy are almost indistinguishable from them. The smell of the Cordon Bleu alone raised my expectations. The first slice—wow—crispy fried but not greasy, juicy, and well-filled. It tasted absolutely delicious; it's been a long time, a really long time, since I've had such a good cordon bleu. It was clear, despite being a big eater, that I wouldn't be able to finish it all, and that's exactly how it was. Honestly, I would have had to struggle to eat it all; it was truly enormous. I thought to myself, "Oh, come on, enjoy this great meal, take the rest with you, and then you can enjoy it again." As I wrote above, I didn't look at the price. When I finally paid, they asked me €26.90 for the huge cordon bleu, fries, salad, and a large beer. I thought that was completely reasonable; after all, I actually got two portions, and I'll definitely be full again from the leftovers I took home. In summary, this was definitely NOT the last time I ate there. TOP-notch taste, very good, friendly service, and the price-performance ratio is absolutely right.

Excellent restaurant right next to the south entrance of Langen train station. The chef and the entire team are extremely friendly, welcoming, and can even be met in person before closing time in the small beer garden. The schnitzel dishes are highly recommended, and the side salad is also excellently balanced. The value for money is definitely more than just what you'd expect. I'd be happy to come back!

We waited over an hour for our food. Unfortunately it was the worst beef steak I've eaten in my life, but my friend really enjoyed the beef goulash and was also nice and tender.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant with its excellent German cuisine. I highly recommend it!

Solid food, very nice and courteous service. Unfortunately, the waitress was exposed and humiliated by the innkeeper when she was overwhelmed with the bill. ("She can't even add two numbers together.") That's not how you treat staff! The argument continued loudly in the kitchen so that all the guests noticed. Simply unnecessary!

We always enjoy coming here. Attentive service, excellent food, portions to fill you up, large selection on the menu. In summer you can sit in a beer garden. There are parking spaces around the restaurant, but if there are none available, there are enough parking spaces at the train station a few meters away.

Cozy atmosphere, courteous service, extensive menu and portions, acceptable prices and the boss fulfills special requests.

Nice but average restaurant. The food is a bit uninspired. Unfortunately, we no longer think the schnitzel is as good as it was a while ago. But basically. But the service is friendly and attentive.

In this case I would keep it short and say that in most cases the food is extremely good. The staff are mostly friendly and service-oriented. The ambience isn't quite my thing, but all in all it's not that important to me.

I was there for a New Year's dinner with work. I want to start with the good: the service was really friendly and pleasant. The ambience in this side room was not nice, it looked more like a storage room. In addition, the ceiling light flickered very often. The food was disappointing. The portion was huge and it was edible but it was very greasy. The fried potatoes were hardly seasoned, no parsley, bacon or onions.

This restaurant serves excellent quality food and very large portions. The fried goat cheese and salad was delicious, along with the schnitzel with pepper gravy. I highly recommend this local favorite!

Wir waren zum Geburtstag meines Sohnes da und er wurde wie der König behandelt. Essen und Getränke waren super lecker und wirklich sehr große Portionen. Wir würden jeder Zeit wieder kommen da auch das Preis Leistung‘s Verhältnis sehr gut ist.

Wir hatten einen angenehmen Abend zu dritt. Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Portionen riesig. Vielleicht sogar etwas zu viel. Leider war in dem Raum nebenan eine Veranstaltung, welche zum Teil sehr laut war. Die Tür stand ständig offen und es zog eiskalt durch den Raum. Die Tür wurde von einem anderen Gast regelmäßig geschlossen.

Gutes Essen, sehr große Portionen mit einem guten Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Freundliches und nettes Personal. Beim nächsten mal, bestelle ich aber einen Seniorenteller 🙂.

Ungemütlich, etwas in die Jahre gekommen, lieblos eingerichtet, Essen so lala, Salat war sehr gut, die Soße vom Jägerschnitzel war sehr wenig und hat nach Maggi geschmeckt, Service war in Ordnung. Muss ich nicht ein weiteres Mal aufsuchen...

Hatte im Oktober Klassentreffen. Essen wie üblich sehr gut, die 2 Bedienungen sehr aufmerksam und super freundlich. Westendhalle seit Jahrzehnten sehr zu empfehlen.

Here is traditional Germany pub. Beer and food qualification is so high level. ドイツのパブです。初めて行きましたが英語は通じて、オーナーの子供がウロチョロしてるアットホーム感あります。料理はもちろん最高です。待ち時間は日本をベースにするとイライラしますので現地にフェーズ合わせましょう。

Wir sind seit Jahren Stammgäste und immer wieder in höchstem Maße zufrieden. Der Service ist gut und herzlich, die Wartezeit gering, die Qualität vom Essen super und die Preise angemessen/niedrig. ich würde ja 7 Sternen geben, wenn draußen nicht alle ~15min ein Zug vorbeikäme wodurch man sich immer dann für 5-10 Sekunden nicht unterhalten kann. Auch ist aktuell die Karte etwas reduziert, hoffentlich nicht mehr so lange. So leider nur 5/5 Sternen. Ansonsten kann ich jedes Essen hier empfehlen, alle gut, manche besser ;) edit: Die Portionsgröße ist mehr als ausreichend, für "normale" Esser reicht bei den Schnitzeln oft die Seniorenportion, ca. 2€ günstiger und wird woanders als normale Portion angeboten. Sehr netter und zuvorkommender Service. Das Essen ist ausgezeichnet!

Der Qualitätsverlust ist leider Tatsache. Die goldenen Zeiten mit Martin als Koch und Gabi im Service sind lange vorbei. Es bleibt ein liebloser „Biergarten“, der diese Bezeichnung nicht verdient mit einem brummelten ungepflegten Wirt. Mein polnischer Freund, wahrlich nicht verwöhnt, sagt: schade Geld.

Essen, Trinken, Service sind sehr gut. Einzig die Bahn ist etwas laut.

Wir gehen sehr oft wegen dem leckeren essen und den netten Service dahin. Schnitzel al a creme ist wirklich empfehlenswert.

Super Portionen....super lecker...Preis Leistung top....Bedingungen sehr freundlich....immer wieder....ist ab und zu mal laut von den Zügen ..aber das Essen und der Garten entschädigt...

Leider bei Weitem nicht mehr so gut wie früher! Es hat einfach nicht geschmeckt, war aber sehr salzig. Schade! Früher eine gute Adresse

Perfektes Lokal um in Ruhe mit Freunden und Familie essen zu gehen. Hier bekommt man bodenständiges, köstliches Essen und kann entspannt den Abend mi freundlicher Bedienung ausklingen lassen. Meine Empfehlung ist das Bauernschnitzel mit Spätzle und dazu ein eiskaltes Allgäuer Büble. Überzeugt mich jedes Mal aufs Neue.

Ich habe schon öfters das Bauernschnitzel gegessen und wollte bei einem Essen mit Freunden etwas neues probieren. Dabei bin ich auf mein neues Lieblingsgericht in der Westendhalle gestoßen, nämlich den knackigen bunten Salat. Die Sauce hat es mir wirklich sehr angetan. Den Abend haben wir dann noch bei ein paar Bier ausklingen lassen. Dabei kam uns die große Auswahl an Kaltgetränken und besonders an Bier zu gute. Immer wieder gerne.

Ich habe schon seit langem keine so leckere Grüne Soße gegessen. Außerdem ist der Handkäs phänomenal. Sehr zu empfehlen!
