Always very happy there. It is usually advisable to reserve seats because other guests obviously have the same opinion as me. I hope the owner and his great crew will stay with us there for a very long time and will continue to serve us so well.

It's ok, but not good either. Schnitzel large, but more breading than meat and dry. Tapas, like the ham, salami, olives etc. inferior quality. Ready fried potatoes and hollow cheap French fries. Many sauces taste like Maggi. The aioli and the scampi pan are very good. But the aioli is really stingy here. All in all ok, but nothing more. We would not recommend this restaurant to our friends. 3 stars from us, but only because of the nice conditions and the cozy atmosphere on the terrace.

Ist ok, aber auch nicht gut. Schnitzel groß, aber mehr Panade als Fleisch und trocken. Tapas, wie der Schinken, Salami, Oliven etc. minderwertige Qualität. Fertig Bratkartoffeln und hohle billige Pommes Frites. Viele Soßen schmecken nach Maggi. Die Aioli und die Scampi Pfanne ist sehr gut. Hier wird aber mit der Aioli regelrecht gegeizt. Alles in allem ok, mehr aber auch nicht. Empfehlen würden wir dieses Lokal in unserem Bekanntenkreis nicht. 3 Sterne von uns, aber nur aufgrund der netten Bedingungen und das gemütliche Ambiente auf der Terrasse.

We were there yesterday afternoon and can say that the service and the food are simply excellent. Although I am a generous eater, the portions are sufficient and very nicely prepared. And the ambience in nature is very pleasant. We'd love to come back.

Really highly recommended, even if it took a little longer today. The food was great! Unfortunately, some guests at our table had to wait a relatively long time while we had already been served our second course. All in all, very successful!

We wanted to have something to eat there yesterday around 6 p.m. I tried to call there, unfortunately there was no chance that anyone would answer the phone. Then we drove by around 7 p.m. because it said on the internet that the kitchen doesn't close until 8 p.m. We then sat down at a table, a nice waiter brought us the menu, as usual we decided on a meal and around 7:20-25 p.m. a waitress came and rudely asked us to please leave because the kitchen closes at 8 p.m. and all hell breaks loose here that the boss (cook) wouldn't make any more food. If we thought it was really cheeky, then they shouldn't have offered us a menu and in the near future they shouldn't have written down the 8 p.m. kitchen. Just because it was busy. I have a friend who also comes from the waiter brunch and that would be a NO GO!!!! No matter how busy it is, the kitchen is open until 8 p.m. So the ambience and everything that was on the menu definitely appealed to us and was nice, but I've never experienced anything like it. Since we were only two people, 10-15 people didn't come to the restaurant. We also wanted to talk to the boss personally, but the waitress said clearly that she had no interest in taking him out. It's a shame that you are treated like that.

We were there yesterday after the bike tour. And were super surprised. Such nice service (which is a rarity these days), lovely ambience and absolutely delicious tapas. We've already said...we'll be coming more often now 💪💪 Thank you...for the nice end to our bike tour.😇😊

Highly recommended, were there last Sunday. First we went for a walk with the dogs in the surrounding forest and then had lunch there. Nice staff, nice atmosphere and good food, portions big enough, hardly anyone finished their portion. The chef knows what he's doing! I'd love to come back. If you want to stay there in the evening, you should reserve in advance. It's always full on warm days. Price wise, not cheap but affordable and definitely worth a visit.

Good excursion restaurant with a beer garden.

The prices are now underground. 24€ for the Bolo Schnitzel..6€ for the side salad, but with all my love it will stop at some point. You can no longer afford it with a family.

Stopped here for the first time. Since it was a warm day, there were people inside and outside. Despite the large crowd, we were served quickly and the drinks came relatively quickly. The three of us had paella, which was served in a large pan for everyone. The portion was plentiful in all respects and justified the price of 25 euros/nose. The house wine, a Tempranillo, was fine and also inexpensive. Unfortunately there was no white Spanish house wine. This could be improved, as e.g. B. there are very good Verdejos. It's quite pleasant to sit outside, apart from the fact that the gnats like me and like to land on me...

There have been many visits here, each time good food with a top price-performance ratio. Huge portions, great taste, varied daily menus. Also highly recommended is the goose and Christmas menu. The restaurant is always busy and the service is still good. Nice beer garden, great ambience in the restaurant.

A really good restaurant with a wide selection (German/Hessian cuisine to Spanish dishes, tappas are great). This chef knows what he's doing!! The service is very friendly and relaxed, very attentive! An absolute highlight in our area and a safe tip for any meal with outsiders! One request: keep it up for a long time!!

Nice shop and nice staff. The green salad was good. The sauce on the burger and on the coleslaw were too greasy for me (mayonnaise with cream?). I found the salmon to have been fried for too long and also way too fatty. The meal didn't go well for me.

We have already tried many restaurants for our Sunday brunch with our parents. But the Waldschenke is simply the unbeatable highlight for us. If you like Mediterranean Spanish cuisine in a German tavern atmosphere, then there is nothing better in the region. The food is simply top and the meat is as tender as butter. Lush salads with delicate dressing. Of course a bit higher in price but worth every cent.

Very nice staff. We were pleasantly surprised by the location. We were able to reserve a table for 8 people at short notice, which made us very happy. The food was phenomenal!!! Incredibly delicious. We went there on a recommendation. At first you thought the 22 euros for a schnitzel was a bit steep, but it was justified. Very large portions, great quality, a lot and it tastes good. There were 13 of us and everyone was thrilled, regardless of whether it was a schnitzel or a burger. Quaint pub with a beer garden. You should make a reservation. We will be back.

The Waldschänke and Schützenhaus Diana are more than recommended! The food is completely freshly prepared, which I really appreciate, the portions are huge (so always be hungry) and the variety between good home cooking and Mediterranean tapas is phenomenal!! The ambience is very lovingly furnished and the staff is always friendly, customer-oriented and in a good mood there for each of their gourmet customers! I always like to go there and enjoy the dishes, whether large or small! All in all very recommendable!! To the team: stay the way you are, because that's exactly how you are right!

Top location, very good food, nothing to be desired here

Nice restaurant also for larger groups. It's just that sometimes it gets relatively loud when the crowd is busy. Attentive operating staff who check in every now and then to make sure everything is still ok. The wood-burning stove in the “winter garden” spreads a pleasant warmth. The food tastes very good and is also visually appealing (e.g. beetroot carpaccion), but the portions (e.g. Cordon Bleu) are sometimes too large. But you're prepared for it and packing up leftovers isn't a problem. We'd love to come over for dinner again!

Ausgezeichnetes Service und umfangreiches Essen

Schöne Atmosphäre, prima Bedienung, idyllische Lage im Wald, im Sommer sicher ein Knaller, klasse Essen (spanisch angehaucht), aber doch recht teuer und zu große Portionen. Die kleiner und die Preise entsprechend korrigiert, dann 5 *.

Sehr leckeres Essen. Wer es etwas schärfer und ausgefallener mag, dem empfehle ich das Schnitzel Ko Samui

Das Restaurant hat eine schöne gemütliche Atmosphäre. Wir waren mit vier Personen vor Ort und wurden freundlich empfangen. Wer es eher ruhig mag, sollte vielleicht nicht am Wochenende dort hingehen. Es ist sehr laut. Die Tapas als Vorspeise haben uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Speisen waren alle auch ansprechend angerichtet. Von den Hauptgerichten waren wir jedoch sehr enttäuscht. Die Soßen waren leider nicht selbstgemacht. Haben sehr fertig geschmeckt und auch sehr salzig. (Rahmsoße und Jägersoße). Die Schnitzel sind unglaublich dünn da ist mehr Panade als Fleisch auf dem Teller. Der Backfisch ist sehr trocken gewesen, leider hat auch bei dem Gericht die grüne Soße sehr künstlich geschmeckt. Die Spätzle bei der Schlemmerpfanne waren leider keine Spätzle. Die Konsistenz war ziemlich merkwürdig. Und leider bekamen wir auch keine Bratkartoffeln mit Speck und Zwiebeln wie angekündigt. Wir bekamen halbierte Kartoffelstücke frittiert aus der Fritteuse wo man den Speck und die Zwiebeln suchen musste. Teilweise mussten wir ziemlich lange auf die Getränke warten. Trotz 5 Bedienungen haben wir unsere Getränke am Ende selbst abholen müssen an der Bar. Waren dort zum ersten Mal und würden vielleicht nochmal hingehen. Dann aber nur für ein paar Tapas. Sehr schade.

Tolles Restaurant in schöner Lager. Das Ambiente im Wintergarten ist zwar schön, aber aufgrund fehlender Raumtrennung sehr laut. Das Essen ist wirklich sehr gut. Sowohl Tapas als auch Schnitzel und Salat waren super. Die Portionen sind reichlich, die Preise dafür aber auch durchaus gehoben. Der Service hatte bei unserem Besuch nicht seinen besten Abend. Zu Beginn wurden wir vergessen und bis unser Essen bekommen haben ist mehr als eine Stunde vergangen - das ist einfach zu lang. Trotzdem war der Service freundlich. Wir können das Restaurant empfehlen und kommen bestimmt nochmal.

Wir waren neulich in der Waldschänke und sind begeistert. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam und die Tapas und die Sangria sind sehr lecker.

Bestes Schnitzel weit und breit, egal welche Variation man auch bestellt, man ist 101% zufrieden! Wir hatten im Dezember auch Gans bestellt, auch hier keine Mängel, alles tadellos! Zum Glück wohnen wir etwas weiter weg, sonst würde ich täglich hierher kommen :-)

November ist Gänsezeit. Gar nicht so einfach in diese Zeit einen Tisch für 7 zu bekommen. Unsere Wahl viel diesmal auf die "Waldschänke". Rustikales Schützenhaus Ambiente mit dem wir kein Problem haben. Wir sitzen etwas unglücklich an der Eingangstür aber auch das ist erträglich. Wir haben Gänsekeulen und Brüste vorbestellt und müssen nur noch entscheiden ob wir die Gerichte einzeln oder als Menü haben möchten. Als Menü erhält man: Einen frischen Feldsalat, der sehr lecker mit Croutons, Speck und gerösteten Kürbis und Sonnenblumenkernen gereicht wird. Schmeck toll da der Salat nicht im Dressing ertrinkt. Sehr gut angemacht! Brust oder Keule mit 2 Klößen und Rotkohl oder auch mit Kartoffeln und Rosenkohl. Auch hier alles heiß, zusammen serviert und absolut lecker! Sehr lobenswert die 3 Saucieren mit extra lecker Gänsesauce für alle! Dessert: einheitlicher warmer Schokokuchen für alle, zu dem man aber zwischen 4 weihnachtlichen Eissorten wählen kann. Auch sehr gut und lecker. Einziger Kritikpunkt hier sind die 2 zusätzlichen fruchtigen Dessertsaucen auf dem Teller, die meiner Meinung nach nicht zu der Schoko Kombi mit Sahne passen. Hier könnte weniger mehr sein. Das trübt aber den tollen Mittag überhaupt nicht. Wir haben sehr gut gegessen, einen angemessene Rechnung gezahlt und werden wiederkommen um andere Gerichte der Karte zu probieren. Daumen hoch!

Durch Zufall sind wir auf die Waldschänke gestoßen und sind seitdem jedes Mal begeistert! Hier kann man einfach nichts falsch machen. Egal ob Vor-, Haupt- oder Nachspeise. Durch die super freundlichen und auch sehr kompetenten Bedienungen, fühlt man sich super aufgehoben. Die Wartezeit auf das Essen ist angenehm und wird durch die leckeren Getränke verkürzt. Wir sind jeder Zeit gerne Gäste in der Waldschänke. Weiter so!!!
