Zur Wackenmühle in Rehlingen-Siersburg

The place to be to unwind and unwind.

We have been stopping at the Wackenmühle on our bike tours for 15 years and have been very satisfied with the food and service. During our visit on August 8th, 2024, my wife and I ate chicken with fries and bread respectively. Since my wife ate some of my fries, the bread was left over. When my wife wanted to take the bread with her, the waitress took the bread from her and said that you couldn't take away any leftover bread. She ignored the hint that we had paid for the bread. The incident was reported to the owners, with no response so far. In other restaurants it is common for people to point out that they can take away what they didn't manage to eat. Really a shame. That was our first last visit to the Wackenmühle.

The service is sometimes very unfriendly and neglects children under 16. At least that's my experience

A charming piece of earth. The service staff was very friendly, despite the restaurant being full. The special schnitzel was delicious in this combination and the salad dressing was very tasty. The only drawback - the wheat could be a little colder. And sitting there on the Nied, hearing and seeing the weir - that's really worth a trip to the Wackenmühle. We'll definitely be back!

Very nice destination for a trip.

Delicious chicken, a little smaller than usual. Schnitzel with pepper cream, salad and fries were all delicious.

All dishes taste very good. The chicken is super tasty.

Very bad restaurant.. We waited forever for the food, the schnitzel was just bad and not appetizing, the fries weren't good either. We wanted a side salad, which was no longer available, so all in all we were very disappointed. The location is nice if you can get a seat outside Don't eat anything there anymore! The prices are not acceptable for what you get for a bad meal..

Rustic excursion restaurant directly on the Nied. - Location on the cycling and hiking trail. A bit old. Menu card small and clear. Prices are still ok. Nice service. Kitchen not open all the time.

I don't eat anything anymore, it's too expensive and tasteless. We ate 4 dishes and can't recommend any of them. The place is of course very beautiful. We go there often, but never eat.

The traces of the flood have been removed in the restaurant, the chicken is, as always, wonderfully crispy!

Waited over 2 hours for food. No information that it will take longer today. Wrong drinks brought. No order written down. We should have been informed from the start or at least told after an hour.

It was unbelievable that we had to wait almost 2 hours for our food when it finally came after asking several times: I had NEVER eaten SOMETHING THAT bad. The service underground. Also completely overpriced for what you get. I can't recommend it, it's definitely NOT worth a visit since you want to starve. PS: Stomach pain is included.

Waited 2 hours for food. I've never eaten such a bad schnitzel before 🤮 Disgusting! You get very little for a lot of money. Never again !!!!

Waited 2 hours for food! Had to test the sauce on site because the container was passed on to the next person in the wrong way!!!! When you paid you weren't even told goodbye! Impossible!!!! Several guests left early without eating! People were visibly annoyed, as were we!! It's a shame that such a great atmosphere was ruined by waiting times etc.!

A very nice place, with a great view. Unfortunately, after 2 hours we ended the evening without eating and left. We simply couldn't understand why, after asking us several times how long our meal would last, there was no response. The statement when paying was just like that... In principle, I really like going to the Wackenmühle because it is wonderfully located on the beautiful Nied. However, I was there today and invited my mother to dinner. She ordered the salmon noodles. Basically, I don't expect excellent dishes of exceptional quality from a restaurant of this type, but I was already negatively surprised today. The first salmon we received wasn't really cooked. It came back after about 10 minutes - this time through, but swimming in fat and chopped into small pieces. My mother's sauce was just a mixture of cream and fat, but it didn't taste like anything and was miles away from a white wine sauce. Some of the noodles are actually not really cooked yet. I think you have to make an effort to disfigure a dish like this. In principle, something like this can happen, which I could forgive if I hadn't paid the full price despite my mother's feedback to the waitress and the noodles that were almost completely there, which my mother left behind. I expect better and proactive customer service and a level of accommodation towards the customer that they don't have to demand. I ate the schnitzel with asparagus and potatoes. The potatoes were still ok, as was the asparagus. The schnitzel was probably deep fried and tasted like what is found in a deep fryer: fat. Price/performance ratio was not relevant for me. A pity! I actually enjoyed going there…

A wonderful place to unwind. Kitchen only opens at 5 p.m., so we had to grab apple strudel and coffee first.

The atmosphere is very nice, close to the water and very pleasant. BUT The waiting time is very long, and the worst thing is the café, hot water with little taste, warmed up and from the thermos.

A dream to stay there in the summer. Service is excellent and after every walk or bike ride it's a must to go for a drink/eat ice cream. The food in general tastes good there. The ambience is unique to the area.

Absolutely top, absolutely recommended. Everything just fits there. Plus Very child friendly. Brilliant view of the Nied.

Just had a coffee here after a walk. We were treated very friendly and courteously. Will definitely come back for dinner.

Rustic restaurant with home-style food. A beautiful view of the Niedwehr in Hemmersdorf makes the visit something special.

Beautiful location, nice ambience, very friendly service, food ok but lacking a bit of oomph, salad not to my taste. Parking spaces are a bit scarce. Nevertheless, you can highly recommend the restaurant!!

Auf einer Radtour eingekehrt und was getrunken. Sehr starker Zulauf, deshalb zum Essen immer reservieren. Ansonsten super.

Great place to sit and relax have a drink and enjoy the lake view. The hire paddle boats here 5 euros for 30 mins in case you would like to do an activity. Other wise plenty of seating options.

Sehr freundliche Bedienung. Von der Bestellung bis zum Essen angenehme Zeit. Essen von der Menge und Qualität sehr gut. Da wir leider in Zeitdruck waren, konnten wir die Desserts nicht probieren. Klare Empfehlung. Beim nächsten Mal werden wir die Desserts probieren.

Geweldig leuk terras aan de Nied. Precies bij een plek waar veel gezwommen wordt. Goede lunch gehad hier.

Die Qualität des Kaffee's ist verbesserungsbedürftig speziell beim Kaffee Creme. Das Essen ist schmackhaft und zu empfehlen.

Sehr schöne Möglichkeit an der Nied zu sitzen und zu essen, Service nett und aufmerksam. Toiletten etwas in die Jahre gekommen.

Wir haben nur was getrunken. Super gelegen und eine tolle Aussicht. Nettes und aufmerksames Personal.

Mann sitzt auf der Terrasse sehr gut toller Ausblick auf die nied. Tolles Personal und guter Service Essen war sehr 👍 Wir kommen alls Familie auf jeden Fall wieder.

Bon repas mais la serveuse a un fonctionnement hors du commun, lors d'un accrochage accidentel elle répercute de manière homogène sa haine sur l'ensemble de la table

Althistorische Wassermühle und sehr schöne Location an der Nied mit Terrasse/Biergarten und direktem Blick auf die Nied. Im Restaurant sieht man hinter Plexiglas das drehende Wassermühlenrad. Hier kann man essen, trinken, entspannen und sogar schwimmen direkt an der Wackenmühle. Zudem kann man im Umfeld wunderbar laufen und die stille Natur geniesen. Gute kleine Speisekarte, für jeden etwas, sogar eine Kinderkarte . Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis und schmackhaftes Essen. Bekannte Spezialität schon seit vielen Jahren sind die halben Hähnchen. Leider geben die teilweise langen Wartezeiten auf das Essen Punkteabzug.

Ein idyllischer Ort an der Nied bei Hemmersdorf gelegen. Das Gasthaus Zur Wackenmühle bietet kleine und größere Gerichte zu akzeptablen Preisen. Bei schönem Wetter sind die Terrassen Sitzplätze begehrt. Sie bieten einen sehr schönen Blick auf den Überlauf des Stauwehres. Ein sehr empfehlenswerter Ort in einem der schönsten Täler des Saarlandes.

Zum Essen kann ich nicht viel sagen aber die Kulisse und die Tatsache das es noch eine ich nenn es mal Strand bar gibt von der man eigentlich vom Tisch ins Wasser springen kann gibt schon volle Punktzahl ein absolutes Highlight im Saarland

richtig tolles lokal in einmalig schöner und romantischer landschaft - ein heisser tipp! essen sehr gut, alles frisch zubereitet, guter und freundlicher service, obwohl es seeeehr viele gäste hatte. kompliment!

Die Lage direkt an der Nied ist einmalig. Von der Terrasse hat man einen schönen Blick, ausser Wasserrauschen gibt es keinen störenden Lärm. Die Bedienung ist flott und freundlich, das Essen ist zu empfehlen, vor allem die Hähnchen. Wenn nicht all zuviel Betrieb ist, geht es auch ziemlich flott.

Wir kamen am frühen Abend, schönes Ambiente, freundliches Personal. Als es kälter wurde war es kein Problem drinnen einen Tisch zu bekommen. Essen hat auch gut geschmeckt und die Kinder freuten sich zum Schluss über ihr Eis. Werden es mal im Sommer testen, wenn man gemütlich draußen am Wasser sitzen kann.

Ein perfektes Ausflugsziel,man kann dort sehr gut essen oder sich entspannen bei Kaffee und Kuchen. Man sitzt dort sehr gemütlich und tolle Aussicht. Man kann toll spazieren gehen oder einfach nur relaxen 👍👍👍🏍️🏍️🏍️
