Waren mit 4 Personen da. An einem Samstag Abend.Mussten reservieren da es ein gut besuchtes Restaurant ist. Etwas abgelegen im Wald,aber ein sehr schönes Restaurant mit tollem Außenbereich. Service war Top,stets bemüht und freundlich. Lediglich als wir ein Tisch im freien unter einem Sonnenschirm wollten, war die Dame etwas komisch. Sie wären heute komplett ausgebucht und dann is das nicht möglich normalerweise. Nach kurzem zögern bekamen wir dann doch den gewünschten Tisch. Das Essen war sehr gut,jedoch bei einigen Gerichten noch verbesserungswürdig.Das Steak war nicht Medium wie bestellt. Nudeln sehr Geschmacksneutral. Es wurden Spaghetti statt Fettuchine serviert und eine der Vorspeisen war leider die falsche. Die Soßen zum Fleisch fanden wir alle sehr sehr lecker,der Fisch war Super auf den Punkt gegart,Pommes und Rösti als Beilage auch gut. Werden bestimmt wieder kommen.

Ein großartiges Essen, alles war ausgezeichnet, ich kann es nur empfehlen.

Wir waren mit 5 Personen dort zum Essen. Das Essen war sehr gut. Getränke soweit auch, bis auf ein fehlendes Köstritzer und eine Apfelschorle die zuviel Wasser enthielt. Die Bedienung war nett und freundlich und die Preise sind entsprechend der Portionen gerechtfertigt. Was noch etwas zu verbessern wäre, ist das die Bedienung vielleicht öfters mal zum Tisch kommen könnte um Nachfragen zu klären und Nachbestellungen aufzunehmen. Denke bei mehr Betrieb wird es eng, ist aber keine Kritik nur ein Hinweis, denn ich weiss wie schwer es momentan ist Personal zu finden. Ansonsten eine schöne, ruhige Lokation. Gerne kommen wir mal wieder .

Das Steak war schön kross gebraten und genau auf den Punkt – außen knusprig, innen saftig. Geschmacklich wirklich top! Der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam, und auch das Ambiente hat gepasst. Kommen gerne wieder.

Eine sehr schön und liebevoll eingerichtete Gaststätte. Sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. War dort zu einer Feier nach einer Beerdigung. Wir hatten kleine Häppchen mit Wurst, Käse und und Käse-Dips. Es war super, super lecker. Wenn ich wieder in der Gegend bin komme ich auf alle Fälle wieder. Möchte die riesige Paella Pfanne mal in Gebrauch sehen.

Ich war an Valentinstag da und auch an anderen Tagen. Ich war immer sehr zufrieden das Essen ist immer sehr lecker und das Personal ist super freundlich. Kann ich nur jedem weiterempfehlen, es gibt nichts zu bemängeln einer der besten Restaurants meiner Meinung nach.

Ein wirklich tolles Restaurant. Der Service ist sehr gut und alle sind super freundlich. Das Schnitzel war einfach perfekt – genau so, wie es sein muss! Wir kommen definitiv wieder.

Die Suppe nur lauwarm, die Bedienung mittelmäßige und für Vegetarier gab es die Wahl zwischen Fetuccine und Fetuccine... Ein bisschen enttäuschend.

Das Essen ist bislang immer sehr gut gewesen. Das Ambiente ist eher Gutbürgerlich.

Hatte für gestern Abend einen Tisch für zwei Personen bestellt . Ich bestellte Thunfisch. Er war tot gebraten. Also ich denke der Koch kennt sich nicht damit aus. Ich konnte mich nicht schon gestern direkt beschweren weil ich meinen Sohn dabei hatte der so von ihrer Küche geschwärmt hat.

Ein ganz hervorragendes Lokal. Wir kommen immer mal wieder gerne vorbei, aufmerksame Herren, die was von ihrem Job verstehen und sich die Leidenschaft für den Beruf noch bewahrt haben. Eine ausgewogene Speisekarte mit der ein oder anderen speziellen Köstlichkeit. Macht bitte weiter so und bewahr euch eure Herzlichkeit.

Wir waren heute für eine Familienfeier mit 25 Personen in der Heßmühle. Das Essen war wie immer hervorragend und gut abgestimmt. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam, super freundlich und entspannt. Einziger Wermutstropfen war, dass wir alle irgendwann einfach satt waren und nicht alles aufessen konnten 😀...

I had 26 guests for lunch. Everyone was thrilled with the quality and taste of the food. The service was very attentive yet unobtrusive. The ambiance was lovely, and all the staff were friendly. I will be back at Hessmühle for my next celebration.

Unfortunately, everything took a very long time, as there were only two servers for the entire restaurant, which was completely full, and they were constantly on the go. Both of them were extremely friendly, though. A third assistant might not have been a bad idea. In total, it took almost two hours from arrival to the meal. The food was really good. However, I'm deducting one star because one of the schnitzels was unfortunately quite burnt, as you can see from the photo. You probably won't go wrong here, but you should plan on plenty of time, as everything takes quite a long time.

Delicious, friendly service, great outdoor area, very rustic inside

The food was delicious, the atmosphere cozy, and the service very friendly. I deducted one point because I felt the service lacked initiative; we always had to actively ask for new drinks and ask for our plates to be cleared. Otherwise, we were satisfied and would gladly return.

Sunday, August 31, 2025 Chanterelles were apparently no longer good, and I vomited all night. Otherwise, previous experiences were always satisfactory, but this time it's already frightening. My wife is still nauseous and isn't going to work today because of it, and later she's going to the doctor. She's been signed off sick. We've never had problems like this before and have always been satisfied! Hopefully, this time it was an exception.

A truly gem, a dreamy garden, fine drinks, creative cuisine, and regional specialties, all of the highest quality. Friendly, attentive staff.

On May 11, 2025, we reserved a table for two at lunch. The food and service were good. What really annoyed us was that the manager walked to a table next to us, made small talk, looked over at us, and then moved to another table, made small talk there as well, and ignored us completely. An hour later, he came back into the room, did exactly the same thing again, and ignored us again! This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable, especially not as the owner! My response to the owner's reaction: I didn't complain that the food at the Hessmühle took too long. This statement by the owner is simply wrong! I don't need small talk either, but a friendly "Hello" or "Are you okay?" would have been appropriate, even if we weren't friends or acquaintances!

We had the gourmet fish selection and the cordon bleu from the summer menu, as well as a South American rump steak with homemade herb butter and the fettuccine with cheese and herb sauce from the regular menu. All dishes were delicious; despite being very busy, our food was on the table in just 30 minutes. The desserts were also delicious. The staff was very friendly and accommodating; we felt at home and will definitely be back.

The two of us ate there and were completely satisfied. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed. Thanks to the beautiful trees, we had pleasant shade – perfect on a warm day. The very friendly and attentive service was particularly noteworthy. Reservations are recommended, as the place was busy.

Went hiking today (Idesbacher) and then ate at Hessmühle. Service was very friendly and attentive. Food arrived without a wait. Argentinian rump steak was delicious and highly recommended. A generous portion of baked asparagus Also excellent. Conclusion: Top value for money, always worth a visit.

We were there for my aunt's 80th birthday. The service was super friendly. It was her first day. It was hardly noticeable to her. Small mistakes are forgiven. The chef himself came to us and was extremely friendly and also very talented. Rarely have I had such a good steak. Everything tasted very good. Really perfect. Whatever was missing was delivered without hesitation. We ate there in a wonderful atmosphere. But it is also very nice and quiet outside. Small incentive: The swing has edges and needs to be replaced. Otherwise there is absolutely nothing to complain about. Keep it up!

Cozy, old German, very attentive staff. We really enjoyed our visit here and will be back. 1 star deduction because the starters are really small and unfortunately we waited forever for the bill towards the end. We were here for the first time this afternoon because I was given a voucher. Certainly not for the last time! Nice waitresses. Great selection on the menu! Both meals were super tasty. Starter, main course and dessert very tasty! The only thing that was a bit disturbing was that the staff were talking loudly among themselves But next time we'll sit further in the next room. I had the pleasure of visiting the restaurant several times. The service was excellent and the food was very tasty, the meat was always perfectly prepared. The events are definitely a highlight. The Valentine's dinner was a wonderful experience with loving decoration and an impressive selection of delicacies in the five-course menu. While eating mussels, we were amazed by the variety of preparation options. The starter was delicious and the buffet with three different varieties left nothing to be desired. We had a hard time deciding on the best flavor. In summer it is particularly nice to sit outside in a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Very nice rural, classic atmosphere, with a beautiful outside terrace. Very good and friendly service, the dishes we tried were very tasty and beautifully presented. Reasonably priced based on the freshness and ingredients of the food. All in all a very nice afternoon.

Maybe you should put up a sign saying "We don't want your money", after the aperitif there was nothing more to drink, dessert cards were not brought despite ordering, no one asked for espresso and the food, which tasted good, was carelessly presented and the plates were not garnished , it was nothing, nothing at all. And when I pointed out that we would have liked to eat more from the blonde lady, no apology, no, thank you anyway, not a nice evening, nothing, just nothing. I was a restaurateur myself for thirty years, I could have cooked all of these dishes at home. You go to a restaurant to enjoy the ambience, to be pampered, to treat yourself to something. Apart from the fact that the food tasted good and the beer garden was really nice, nothing else was available. Not good and unfortunately a touch too arrogant.

Always very tasty. We often and enjoy eating here. Friendly, nice and attentive team. Never had a bad meal there or had a bad experience. Of course, with a full house at Christmas or Easter, you have to have time and patience, like everywhere else. But when you go out to eat, you should also take the time and patience on days like this. They try very, very hard. Many things can be done in response to requests and we respond to requests. Close to the forest. Therefore very quiet, perfect for children. Stays for long periods of sitting or walking after eating. We love being here ❤️

Yesterday we were back in the Hessmühle for a long time. We always had a good meal there, but yesterday it was a disaster It took us longer to read the menu than the food was prepared and served. We entered the restaurant at 6:40 p.m. and were back in the car at 7:10 p.m. The salad we ate was good, but the main course "pork schnitzel with pepper sauce" was worse than at the snack bar. Hot on the outside and cold on the inside. The sauce was a mush with 4 red peppercorns. I can't understand how you can make such a bad sauce and the one that comes out of the bag at least still has some flavor. Then the waiter shouted from the door across half the restaurant, “It was tasty”. Fine way to treat the guests. We also missed the greeting from the kitchen, but that isn't available at the snack bar either. We were so disappointed. My wife and I just looked at each other and said we would have eaten better and much cheaper at the snack bar. That's it.

Last Sunday evening I invited my family to dinner for my birthday. Shortly after we were served the aperitif, the side salad was brought, even though we expressly emphasized that we wanted to take our time. When we asked, a basket with exactly 5 counted slices of flute was served. Only a short time later the main course arrived - 4 times the veal cordon bleu advertised on the recommendation menu and a fish variation. We criticized the meat - completely identical looking meatballs wrapped in a dark brown hard breading, served on a brown, tasteless sauce with hash browns. The boss explained to us that this was the house's special method of preparation. When I asked what breading he used, he admitted that he had been given the wrong breading. Sorry, am I in a restaurant or a fast food joint? We always really liked the Hessmühle, not least because of the white-covered tables and the friendly service. A 'greeting from the kitchen' now seems to be abandoned and the attractive design of the dishes no longer seems to play a role. The highlight, however, was that a second portion of flutes (again exactly 5 slices) was charged at €1.70. This is how you lose guests...what a shame!

A converted hunting lodge in a quiet forest location. The outdoor area invites hikers to take a break in summer. There is also a cozy atmosphere inside. The food is appropriate for the standard and can be described as good, middle-class.

Die Atmosphäre und das Essen sind sehr gut. Auch das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit.....der Weg zu diesem Restaurant ist sehr abenteuerlich. Viele Schlaglöcher und sehr dunkel. Auch der Parkplatz ist mit vielen Schlaglöcher übersät, deren Tiefe man wegen dem Wasser nicht erkennen kann.

Tip Top Essen, sehr nettes aufmerksames Personal. Ambiente etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber genau das hat was. 👍

Ehemaliges Jagdschloss, schön im Wald gelegen mit guter deutscher Küche zu fairen Preisen. Auch für grössere GeselIschaften geeignet. Liebevoll eingerichtet. Sehr freundlicher Gastgeber. Im Sommer kann man auch draussen, unter den schönen, alten Linden speisen.

Wir waren 12 Personen und haben draußen unter den Plantanen ein schönen Platz, das Essen von der Karte war bei allen sehr zufrieden. Jedoch hat es mit den Getränke 30 min gedauert und mit dem Essen 1,5 Std zu lange wie ich finde.

Schönes Restaurant und immer freundliche Bedienung. Das Essen kann man empfehlen und im Sommer kann man schön draußen sitzen. Also empfehlenswert.
