Zur Villenkolonie in Fürth

We visited here for the first time and were very satisfied. Delicious food, freshly prepared. The ox cheeks and chanterelle mushrooms with bread dumplings were very tasty. You'll need to be prepared for a while on weekends; we waited an hour for our food, but it was worth it. Nice beer garden, but reservations are recommended.

I was at the Villen Kolonie in Fürth about two weeks ago. (August 24, 2025) The food tasted okay, and the portions were also decent. But: charging €6.50 for a simple extra sauce is, in my opinion, absolutely outrageous. That price is completely out of all proportion and almost seems like a rip-off. On top of that, instead of the pepper sauce I ordered, I was simply served a chanterelle mushroom sauce – absolutely unacceptable for that price. As if that weren't enough, sauce was spilled on the floor right behind us. We were lucky our jackets didn't get dirty – it certainly didn't look professional. The interior is okay, but nothing special. Overall, the disappointment outweighs the negatives: the food was decent, but the price-performance ratio and the service were disappointing. Another visit is therefore out of the question for me.

Superbly renovated. Great food. Very friendly staff, excellent service. Varied dishes. From Franconian cuisine to international dishes. Good portions. Reasonable prices. Everything clean, great atmosphere. We'd be happy to come back. Keep it up.

We visited the villa colony for the first time today and were absolutely thrilled. The waitresses were very friendly and, even though we didn't have a reservation, accommodated us and took great care of us. The food was fantastic and beautifully prepared. My cheese spaetzle with fried onions was so delicious! The side salad was also really delicious :) We will definitely be back and highly recommend a visit!

We were very disappointed that there were no seats available in the beer garden, even though there were still plenty of tables available. We won't be going there again 😞

Not only is the food perfect, the price is right too and you can find places where everything is just right.

5 stars – An unforgettable 60th birthday in the beautiful garden of the villa colony! I celebrated my 60th birthday with around 35 guests at the villa colony – and it was simply perfect! From the planning with Mr. Griger to the final farewell, the service was first-class. The organization ran smoothly, special requests were fulfilled with a smile, and you could feel that this team is committed to their work with heart and experience. Friendly – attentive, and always available to answer questions. The food was an absolute highlight – the buffet was beautifully presented and very well received by all my guests. Even a guest with food intolerances was well catered for. A big thank you to the entire team! You helped make this day unforgettable for me. Best wishes and many thanks Brigitte Albrecht

Very very good kitchen the Schäuferle is a dream

The food was outstanding! The asparagus soup with salmon garnish, the asparagus with hollandaise sauce, potatoes, and salmon, the roast pork with dumplings – everything was absolutely spot on and so good! The restaurant's ambiance didn't quite suit my personal taste (visually) – but it was clean, and the children were welcome. What was really a shame was the really long wait for the food. The waiter specifically asked if the children's food should come in advance – but it still took almost an hour (spätzle with sauce, chicken schnitzel with fries – schnitzel and fries were also really delicious). I generally found the service staff to be pleasant, but unfortunately, it's clear that they had no training in dealing with guests. Friendly, absolutely, but "not my fault," "can't ask now," showing a lack of understanding for annoyance at the long wait, and hot beer glasses... well, that's all. As I said, overall, the staff were pleasant and helpful – probably just stress in the kitchen. A really extensive menu for a small restaurant. Overall, I'd still come back – maybe earlier than 5 p.m. and with plenty of activities for the kids, then the hunger pangs won't be so great ;-)

**Delicious food, uncomplicated hospitality – ideal for down-to-earth celebrations** We celebrated our son's baptism at the *Zur Vilenkolonie* restaurant with about 20 people. Overall, we were very happy with our choice and would like to share our impressions here. ### **Planning & Preparation** A few weeks before the event, we had a personal meeting with the owner to discuss the schedule, the food, and organizational details. They took sufficient time to record our wishes and provide a rough estimate of the costs. It was particularly pleasant that we were allowed to bring our own cake – including the provision of crockery and cutlery by the restaurant. ### **Service & Staff** The staff were generally friendly and helpful. However, those expecting sophisticated or very stylish service should be aware that the service was rather simple and down-to-earth – not unfriendly, but functional. It was perfectly fine for our celebration, but if you're looking for an exclusive party with consistently attentive service, you probably won't find it here. ### **Food & Cuisine** The food was a real highlight: We had a mixed selection of meat and fish dishes, and fresh salads – and all of our guests were thrilled. Everything tasted very high, beautifully prepared, and freshly served. The dishes arrived relatively simultaneously for our group – particularly pleasing given that it's a smaller restaurant. This demonstrates that the kitchen is well-organized and experienced. ### **Space & Atmosphere** The restaurant is rather plain, but clean and well-maintained. Some areas have been modernized; overall, it's a simple but cozy place. The tables were festively set for the celebration – nothing extraordinary, but certainly appealing. You can tell that this isn't an event venue, but a traditional inn with down-to-earth charm. It was still a bit cramped: There was a chair missing, and guests had to push their way through the back row of tables – but that was acceptable and didn't spoil our day. ### **Child-Friendly & Pet-Friendly** Very suitable for families: Children are allowed to move around freely, and our dog was also welcome – which we greatly appreciated. The entire team was friendly with our younger guests, creating a relaxed atmosphere. ### **Restrooms** The restrooms are clean, but significantly older – probably from the original building structure, which underlines the character of the house. They serve their purpose but have not been visually modernized. ### **Outdoor Area & Parking** We stayed indoors in the winter, but there's also a beer garden, which is certainly a lovely spot for cyclists, walkers, or smaller groups in the summer. There are about 10 to 15 parking spaces available – depending on where the cars are parked. It was just enough for our group. ### **Conclusion** The *Zur Vilenkolonie* isn't a luxury restaurant – but it's an absolutely honest, friendly, and culinary delight. If you appreciate down-to-earth Franconian cuisine at a very high level, this is the place for you. We highly recommend this restaurant for smaller celebrations, family dinners, or a cozy getaway for two. The food is excellent, the value for money is fair, and the atmosphere is warm. A successful day that we'll fondly remember!

Absolutely outstanding! We were very lucky to get a seat in this fantastic restaurant even without a reservation - and that in itself is not a given. A huge thank you to the chef, who not only works at the highest culinary level, but also made this evening possible for us with his flexibility and hospitality. Every dish was a masterpiece - prepared with love, perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. You immediately feel that someone with real passion and skill is at work here. Thank you very much for this special evening – we will definitely be back (this time with a reservation!).

Somewhat cool atmosphere in the room; Food tastes good; you have to plan for time, it takes time for the food to arrive when there is some activity; we waited almost an hour for the starter to arrive, which didn't come to the table for both people at the same time; the prices are okay.

On Sunday lunchtime we ordered 12 roulades and fish at short notice!!!!!! I've been in the catering industry for 40 years....I've eaten in a number of German restaurants but THIS cuisine is from another planet!!!!! It couldn't be better!!!!! It's very family friendly and cozy

Today I ordered the “Unterfürberger onion roast with fried potatoes”, which was already recommended to me by several friends. I wasn't promised too much. The meat was tender and the onions were perfectly caramelized – simply delicious. The service was also excellent - friendly and attentive, just as you would expect. You can tell that the satisfaction of the guests is important here. Absolute recommendation! We'd love to come back :)

You have to plan time for eating on the weekend. When you have good conversations, time flies, otherwise it takes too long. The meat from the Schäuferle comes off the bone wonderfully, but unfortunately the crust is once again not crispy 🥺.

The beer garden is really nice, big old trees don't let it get too hot. Umbrellas etc. have also been set up to protect against "trickling material" of plant and animal species, any resident mosquitoes etc. were well behaved, they never annoyed us ;) Food was really excellent, also very attractively presented. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. As we were leaving, we took a look through the window into the interior and realized that we will definitely come back, even if the weather is not suitable for the beer garden :D

I ate a Schäufele, apart from the long waiting time we had (1.5 hours), unfortunately the meat was dry and the crust was not crispy but tough, and they also forgot to bring a drink. The wait wouldn't actually bother me, but no one can tell me that the Schäufele was freshly made... the time was too short for that and the result was too bad.

Absolutely great, nothing to complain about even after many visits. Everything is fresh, always top quality, even when it's full and you have to wait a bit. The dishes, prepared with great attention to detail, are worth every journey and every waiting time. Apart from that, it has also gotten better and is really not a problem. It's great to sit in the shady beer garden, the service is very accommodating, the kitchen and boss are very flexible with special requests and always try hard to ensure that the guest goes home satisfied. The menu offers something for everyone, both Franconian and down-to-earth as well as innovative and vegetarian. Our absolute favorite restaurant.

Very nice restaurant, very attractive, always fresh flowers at the table. We've been there several times and the food is always very tasty. The onion roast is a poem. Schäufele, schnitzel and cheese spaetzle are also wonderful. Good quality, portions sufficient. For the apple cakes it should be 1 ring more 😉. The service is always friendly and always tries hard to make the guest feel comfortable. If everyone is really on their toes, even if the restaurant is full, you will be greeted in a friendly and helpful manner. We always like to come. Update 7/24: were there again today. Bratwursts with sauerkraut were ok. The snack platter was ok in portions. There are very simple supermarket foods on them. Which is okay too. Only the brawn was homemade and very tasty. What didn't work at all was the bread with both of our meals. Tasted like cheap industrial bread that had been thawed in the microwave and tasted like nothing and had a rubbery texture. There was no response to my criticism of the service. No statement etc. We find this a shame and are therefore reducing our stars. The service was ok, but the conditions there used to be more professional.

Very tasty food with reasonable prices. In summer you can sit in a large beer garden, with places in the sun or in the shade. The employees are very friendly and accommodating. The food took a while to come to the table, but there were 5 of us.

Great food! Modern interior interior, cozy beer garden. Whether for a family celebration, Sunday dinner or an after-work beer in the beer garden - great restaurant. The only drawback - on public holidays we have repeatedly experienced that people wait too long for food, there are too few staff or there are untrained staff on site.

We were there and had to wait 2 hours for the food, which I personally find a bit cheeky for these prices. We were used to it from our last visit that eating took 1 hour, but we were only able to eat after waiting 2 hours at 8:30 p.m. The food was then very difficult for us to eat and we had a stomach ache. Unfortunately, they also wore off when eating. We had a watery sauce with the roast pork with toilets and when we pointed it out the waitress said that it was normal pork sauce and that no one else had complained about it, but she took the plate back with her. When she came back we had another sauce that was better. Personally, I think it's a shame because we used to enjoy eating there very often, but that was our last visit.

Yesterday we had a family celebration in the “Villa Colony”. The table was beautifully set and the food and service were great (and our guests were happy :-) Many thanks to the entire team!

Has slowed down a lot. Was always there when we visited Fürth. But the last time wasn't good. The Franconian bratwursts were still raw on the inside and the Schäufele only came with a water sauce. The service has deteriorated significantly. A pity ..

Food was great, we had reserved in advance and also placed the order in advance. When the starter I ordered in advance didn't come, the boss said she never got it and didn't offer to bring it quickly or apologize, which was unfortunately very unprofessional. If you want Franconian and local food again, you've come to the right place. The kitchen does an excellent job, as does the service. We were served in a very friendly and courteous manner, with calmness and no rush, so that you immediately felt at home. And the dishes were very tasty. Both the carp and the roast pork or the game dish. I found the homemade ice cream particularly delicious. Super creamy, intense in taste, but not too exaggerated. I would recommend making a reservation just to be on the safe side. Depending on the rush hour, you might be in short supply of a seat.

I ate a small pepper carp was good, unfortunately the potato salad didn't taste good and I missed the endive salad. Very friendly and attentive service.

We visited the beer garden twice this summer. Both times we were warned that the food would take at least an hour, but we stayed anyway and it came after 30 minutes. respectively. I don't understand this chilling sentence if it is not true and is probably only intended to drive away more guests. Nevertheless, we had to wait a long time for more drinks, the service was quite slow and seemed overwhelmed, basically taking the long way to the restaurant and back again with every single order. A notepad might have helped to record multiple orders at once. Unfortunately, our second carp was not only glassy, ​​but almost raw, but we didn't dare say anything to the already stressed lady and decided not to come again. The garden could be cozy, but it is not particularly well maintained and you should definitely have Autan with you.

Es gibt dort viele klassische deutsche Speisen. Die Zubereitung Präsentation ist aber um einiges hochwertiger als in vergleichbaren Gaststätten. Die Ware Zeit auf Getränke und Essen war leicht erhöht. Auf Nachfrage wurde und erläutert, das Personal fehlen würde. Wir warten mit unseren Besuch total zufrieden und empfehlen das Restaurant gerne weiter.

Essen war gut, aber darauf mussten wir leider 1,5 Stunden warten und auch die Bestellaufnahme hat schon lange gedauert. . Biergarten recht schön und sehr schattig. Was sehr nett war, dass wir im Anschluss noch 3 Espresso aufs Haus bekommen haben.

Sehr zu empfehlen! Waren gestern auf der Durchreise und sind eher durch Zufall "Zur Villenkolonie" gekommen, da es wohl das einzige Restaurant in der Nähe war, welches durchgehend warme Küche hatte. Obwohl alle Tische reserviert waren, wurde uns (2 Personen) ein Platz im schönen Biergarten zur Verfügung gestellt. Das Essen war hervorragend, alles frisch und faire Preise. Der Service aufmerksam und super nett. Sollten wir wieder in der Nähe sein, werden wir auf jeden Fall dort wieder einkehren.

Leider auf Grund der Servicekräfte nicht zu empfehlen. Das Essen ist gut, aber der Service leider überhaupt nicht. Für 3 Personen wurden 4 Gerichte an den Tisch gebracht. Das könnte man merken das da was nicht stimmt. Trotz nur einer handvoll Gäste tauchte die Bedienung nur alle 20 bis 30 Minuten im Biergarten auf. Als sie dann doch einmal in einiger Entfernung zu sehen war reagierte sie auf den "Hallo, Entschuldigung" Ruf um etwas zu fragen mit nachäffen und beschwerte sich unflätig das der Hallo-Ruf zu laut gewesen sei und wurde pampig, Wir waren baff und als sie abgedampft ist haben wir unter uns festgestellt, dass sie evtl. den falschen Job hat. Das hatte sie scheinbar gehört und reagierte mit dem sofortigen erstellen der Rechnung und hat den Chef zu Hilfe geholt der uns hinauskomplementiert hat. Daher den Laden lieber meiden

Alles super hier. Man sitzt im Biergarten gemütlich neben einem Maisfeld. Es gibt einen kleinen Spielplatz. Das Essen - Schnitzel mit selbstgemachten Spätzle und Pfifferlingrahmsoße- war sehr reichlich und sehr lecker. Auch Bier und Riesling haben gemundet.

Vorzügliche Schäufele! Sehr freundlicher und netter Service. Im Gastraum leider etwas laut, könnte man mit Absorber beheben.

Essen ist qualitativ und geschmacklich sehr gut. Man muss nur vieeeel Zeit mitbringen, Service zu langsam, hätte locker 3-4 Radler verdrückt, kommt nur fast nie einer vorbei, blieb halt dann bei 2 Radlern.

Bei schönstem Wetter und aufmerksamer Bedienung hervorragendes Essen genießen - was will man mehr.

Wir waren mit drei Personen am Sonntag Mittag dort. Schon die Höflichkeit seitens des Servicepersonal beim Empfang ließ sehr zu wünschen übrig. Beim Lesen der Speisekarte, die in Kunstleder gebunden ist, fiel eine Ecke derselben auf das Teelicht. Es kokelte leicht, wir haben mit der Hand darüber gewischt und alles war gut. Wir sagten der Bedienung natürlich Bescheid. Diese bestand dann darauf, nach Aussage des Chefs müssten wir die Karte bezahlen. Nach Rückfrage war der Chef für uns persönlich nicht zu sprechen. Ein Unding für uns. Wir zahlten unsere Getränke und verließen das Lokal. Wir werden dort nicht mehr einkehren.

Das Essen von Herrn Griger ist Ausgezechnet und sehr zu empfehlen ! Wenn Sie auf der Suche nach Deutschen Gerichten sind ist dieses Lokal die erste Wahl in Fürth ! Wir kommen wieder.

Wir waren schon zweimal im Lokal essen und haben uns im Dezember 2020 coronabedingt das erste Mal Karpfen aus der "Villenkolonie" geholt. Die Karpfen wurden telefonisch bestellt, waren pünktlich fertig und wurden gut verpackt. A bissi Ingreisch gab es auch dazu. Der gemischte Salat bestand aus Blattsalaten, welche mit kleinen Würfeln von Paprika und Karotten bestreut waren, dazu Tomate und darüber noch Kürbiskerne. Alles war frisch, hätte aber unserer Meinung nach etwas mehr Dressing und Salz vertragen können, ist aber Geschmacksache. Der Kartoffelsalat war hausgemacht und lecker. Auch hier haben wir nachgesalzen. Die Fische selbst waren sehr gut, saftig und auch das Ingreisch war lecker und nicht trocken. Bezahlt haben wir für die 2 mittleren Karpfen knapp 30 €, also absolut in Ordnung. Wir werden im neuen Jahr mit Sicherheit wieder etwas aus der Villenkolonie bestellen. Es gibt noch so viele leckere Gerichte auf der Speisekarte. Übrigens, die Villenkolonie liefert auch ab einem Bestellwert von 20 € und bis zu 10 km Umkreis.
