Ample bike parking including e-bike charging stations, sunny and shady outdoor seating, friendly and very prompt service, one of the best salads I've ever eaten, served with first-class baguette bread, and well-maintained restrooms. A beer garden doesn't get any better than this. Huge thanks to the owners and team!

A visit that can only be described as a disaster. Four people at the table, and every single dish arrived cold – even the hollandaise sauce. That's not only unappetizing, but simply a disgrace for the kitchen. Because of this lack, we actually didn't want to leave a tip at all. Out of pure kindness, we decided to tip a euro anyway. Instead of gratitude, however, we received a condescending comment from the waiter that we could "keep the stuff," that 1% is nothing, and 10% is the usual amount. You could hardly imagine a more rude, disrespectful, and brazen approach to guests. As if that weren't enough, we were addressed informally the entire time – by an employee we'd never seen before. An absolute no-go in the restaurant industry, lacking any level of professionalism. Conclusion: Cold food, unfriendly service, arrogant remarks. Anyone who goes here should lower their expectations considerably. Definitely the last time for us.

I used to come here often, but now the owner has changed. Regarding the food, I can say it was delicious, although the quiche could have been a bit warmer. The drinks were served in large bowls without asking, which I wish had been the case.

We were there yesterday. The food was okay, but the waitress, an old woman with lip fillers, was very unfriendly and pushy, just awful. Even though there were several of us, she wanted us to sit at a small table; other couples were sitting at a large table. I wonder what that was all about; she only said that to us; the other visitors had asked. So you have to make sure that next time you visit, you don't sit where the old woman is serving, otherwise it won't be any fun going there anymore.

If you're heading straight for the restaurant, that might be fine. If you want to take your dog for a walk along the Sieg River and then stop there, you risk a fine (€90). At least you'll be warned several times, both in writing and verbally by the staff, that the parking lot may only be used for visiting the restaurant. The owner must know what he's doing.

Friendly staff and a cozy beer garden. The veal schnitzel was unfortunately too dark and therefore dry. The fried potatoes were lukewarm and mushy because the schnitzel was on top. The cucumber salad with yogurt dressing was without any seasoning. There were three of us there, and we all had schnitzel or cordon bleu. And they were all very dark. A shame.

When the server even gets scissors to open the mayo and ketchup packets for the kids, you can only give it five stars! And of course, the food was delicious and plentiful. And that's with the Sieg in view. Everything was top-notch!

Perfect location, beautifully situated under the trees, more than busy on a weekend with good weather... not to say packed... You have to wait in line, but it doesn't take long until you're assigned a seat. Well organized. I ordered schnitzel and salad, and both were perfectly fine for the price. The value for money is still good here. Friendly and attentive service. Definitely recommend it, which, unfortunately, I can't say about all the beer gardens in the area.

Dining with a view – and it's really good! Zur Siegfähre is the perfect place to combine good food with a vacation feeling. Sitting right on the water, watching the Sieg River babble by, and enjoying a cool drink – it doesn't get much better than this. 🍻🌊 The food is delicious, the portions are more than fair, and the service is friendly and fast. My tip: If you don't leave here full and satisfied, you probably only came for the view. 😉 Conclusion: A true piece of enjoyment on the river – highly recommended! 🍴⚓

We were there in August, on a somewhat cloudy Sunday. We immediately got a nice spot for four people outside. The staff was very friendly, and the food pleasantly surprised us. We'll definitely try the breakfast soon and are happy to drive the 30 km. The surrounding area is also perfect for lovely walks.

All in all, a nice day-trip spot for everyone. Young and old alike, dogs are welcome too (liverwurst ice cream!). The staff are mostly friendly and attentive. The food is good, and contrary to other reviews, the plates were well-filled. The location, directly overlooking the Sieg River, is, of course, fantastic. And despite the heat, you can find a shady spot thanks to the trees. Depending on how busy it is, the noise level is quite acceptable; larger groups of retirees, cyclists, and older people can be a bit loud, 😄. But everything is completely fine! We can highly recommend the Siegfähre!

We were at the Siegfähre yesterday for the first time in a long time. Under new management, it seems, the food isn't what it used to be. My wife had roast beef with onions. The meat was cooked to perfection but still dry. The fries were good, but the onions from the deep fryer were awful. They didn't taste of onions, but of old frying oil. I'm Swabian, and perhaps someone should tell the chef that the onions are fried in a pan, until translucent and lightly browned. It has to be that way because there's no sauce, and the whole thing is pretty dry. My wife ate the meat and some fries, but the onions were left on the plate with the rest of the fries. There were four of us, and all four of us were very disappointed with the taste. A friend of ours had schnitzel with fried potatoes and onions with an extra fried egg. The onions were exactly the same; inedible. The fried potatoes had no flavor, the fried egg had overcooked yolk, and I've only ever seen schnitzel like that at the hot counter in supermarkets. I had the pepper schnitzel with fried potatoes. The pepper sauce was anything but pepper sauce (except for the peppercorns). It was a mixture of gypsy sauce with tomatoes. I've seen it at many chip shops. It's usually a light cream sauce, a roux with peppercorns. The fried potatoes were the same as mentioned above; despite adding more seasoning, they didn't have any flavor. The schnitzel was the same as above. The salad was actually the best, but only after I ordered more dressing, as it had only a hint of dressing before. All in all, very disappointing, and with a bill of almost €140 including a drink, you'd expect more. Maybe next time we're at Sieg we should take advantage of the snack bar's special, because you can't go wrong with fries with mayo, and you don't expect much either. What a shame 👎

This review refers to the attached kiosk. We waited there for about 20 minutes, and no one came. When we asked at the restaurant, we were told that the kiosk was open, but the employee was unavailable. We were able to order fries in the restaurant. However, I find almost €6 for a small (!) portion of fries (a half-full doggy bag) with ketchup (and without a seat at the kiosk) quite unreasonable.

Full marks for full service! We arrived on a Saturday morning. There wasn't much to do, but the service was first-class. Prices are a bit high, but that's also due to the location. Father and daughter would be happy to come back.

We were here for breakfast yesterday with a large group (a family reunion with three generations). We received a very friendly welcome and really attentive service. Super friendly and attentive, but not intrusive, service. The breakfast was very good. Everything was fresh, delicious, and more than sufficient. All in all, a great breakfast that left nothing to be desired. The restrooms have also been renovated. Really nice. And since the change of ownership, the quality has improved even further. We used to enjoy coming here, no question. But now we'll be back a bit more. Highly recommended!

Even with a busy schedule, staff quickly escorted us to our tables. Prompt service and a pleasant atmosphere. The selection of food and drinks was locally sourced and plentiful. The dishes were visually delicious, garnished with herbs. Depending on where you sit, you'll have a wonderful view of Sieg and the ferry. We were completely satisfied and will return.

My family and I have been going here for over 50 years. The operator has changed. Some traditional dishes. Portions are a bit smaller, but more expensive, but still very, very tasty. Super friendly and competent staff. Except for the new lady at the entrance. Several of my friends have already complained about her; she "sorts" people in a very impersonal way. One star less because parking has now been subcontracted to a rip-off company. The Siegfähre was once for "everyone."

We celebrated our silver wedding anniversary here at "Zur Siegfähre" – just like our wedding 25 years ago. Even then, it was a special place for us, and this time, too, it was a complete success. The reservation was completely straightforward, and our wish to sit on the terrace was perfectly fulfilled. We had a wonderful spot – with a view of the greenery and yet perfectly sheltered. Even in the rain, we could easily sit outside thanks to a modern rain cover. And when the weather was glorious, we simply retracted it – a perfect solution! The tables were lovingly set, and the recommended appetizer platters were plentiful and delicious – a great start. Despite our group of around 20 people, the food arrived at the same time for everyone, and individual requests for changes were also accommodated. The service was absolutely top-notch: attentive, friendly, and professional. We were pleasantly surprised by the new features in the house – everything is modernized, freshly painted, and very well maintained. We'd also like to particularly highlight the restroom facilities: clean, beautifully renovated, and with a friendly attendant who keeps things tidy – that deserves special praise. A big compliment to the new host: The new concept is harmonious, welcoming, and well-thought-out. Five stars aren't really enough for such a successful day. In summary: A place with history, charm, and quality. Ideal for special occasions – but also for anyone who appreciates good food and a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended!

The vegan options are quite sad. I'm perfectly fine sitting at a table with omnivores. But then I also want to have a choice on the menu. Please be a bit more creative with your vegan options in the future. What vegans eat, omnivores also eat. Grilled seasonal vegetables, for example, vegetable rice, pasta with vegetables, mushroom ragù, etc., etc., etc. I also came away empty-handed at breakfast. Really sad. Reply to Siegfähre: You don't have to be a vegan restaurant to make the effort to offer all guests good food. Vegan options aren't just for vegans. I can't give more stars to a restaurant that doesn't cater to all dietary preferences and that I couldn't eat as a guest. One fair star for the location is enough.

I've been a guest at the Siegfähre for about 30 years, and I have to say that the food has gotten extremely bad. We'll certainly continue to visit the Siegfähre because it's a great place to linger, but we'll eat somewhere else first.

We drove 25 km there. The kitchen closed at 8:30 p.m. We got something else. The schnitzel was a mini portion for 19 euros. There was no dessert. We had to get our own cutlery from the neighboring table.

We've been going to the Siegfähre for years because the location and ambiance are simply unbeatable when the weather is nice. The Siegfähre was known and loved for its excellent schnitzels; you couldn't go wrong there. We've been there a few times since the change of ownership, and unfortunately, the quality has declined. I hesitated for a long time before writing this review and kept giving the new owner another chance. The side salad was soggy and drowned in sauce. The schnitzels were no longer juicy and the flavor was no longer as high as it had been in the past. The sauces were from a packet. Unfortunately, the food is now like you'd find in your usual day-trip restaurants and nothing special to look forward to anymore. We still have hope that the new owner will come to his senses and build on the quality of the previous owners. The prices would justify an improvement.

The leftover cold cuts (not much) were packed up without our asking, so nothing was thrown away. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our guests were also delighted. The ambiance is simply wonderful. We had a very pleasant morning. A definite recommendation!

I haven't experienced such great service in a restaurant in a long time. Since I only had drinks, I can't comment on the menu yet, except that it reads well, and other guests' dishes looked delicious.

I ordered a salad with feta cheese. The feta cheese was very salty, the salad was a bit limp and not chilled, and the baguette wasn't tasty.

I've enjoyed visiting the Restaurant zur Siegfähre over the past few years. Two years ago, I wrote a very good review and have always recommended the place. Unfortunately, I had to delete my review because my last visit was a complete disaster. My favorite dish, the vegetarian schnitzel, has unfortunately been removed from the menu. While I really enjoyed the dish, I can understand why it's discontinued due to low demand. As an alternative, I ordered the special fries, which were beautifully presented. Unfortunately, both my girlfriend and I found hair in our dish, which meant we couldn't finish it. We informed the waitress, and her simple response was that it wasn't her hair. She didn't elaborate, and we paid the full price. I can understand if a faux pas happens and a hair ends up in the food. However, the staff should be understanding and suggest a solution (different dish, discount, etc.). I'm very disappointed and won't be visiting the restaurant again.

The restaurant itself could use some renovation; the view of the Sieg River leaves a lot to be desired. All I can say about the staff is that they're outrageously unfriendly and visibly annoyed by too many customers! The prices are okay, and the food is okay, too. I find it awful that garbage is wheeled right past the tables on wheelbarrows; it really doesn't look good. Could the adjacent playground be enlarged, please, so it can actually be called a playground?!?

The restaurant benefits from its beautiful location. The ambiance is quite dated. The food was rather mediocre. The service was very snippy toward us and the guests at the neighboring table. As a result, our visit was shorter than planned.

Today we went to this restaurant again after a long time. My wife ordered a salad with chicken. The chicken was a little dry, but still edible. I had the pepper schnitzel with fried potatoes. I was very shocked by the fried potatoes. The schnitzel and the pepper sauce were really delicious, but these fried potatoes had absolutely nothing to do with fried potatoes. They were pure mush and completely inedible. The chef didn't cover himself in glory here. It was truly a disgrace. I then ordered some fries because they were inedible. All in all, a restaurant for day trips where you shouldn't care so much about the quality of the food. I would, however, like to single out the staff; they were all really friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, none of them managed to get rid of the constantly barking dog. It was very annoying for the other guests. We were there with our dog, but I would never go to a restaurant with a constantly barking dog!

I often had breakfast and dinner at the previous owner's. It was always plentiful and delicious. Yesterday I had breakfast at the new owner's and was very disappointed. It was very expensive and not enough to fill you up (sailor's breakfast).

We only went to the kiosk and had a good seat. A 0.33L beer cost €3.

Well, I don't know where to begin. The food we ordered was simply not enjoyable. We had currywurst with fries, a fried potato salad, and a chicken salad. The fried potatoes were oily and mushy, and the chicken served with the salad was just dry and tasted like cardboard. The currywurst sauce didn't taste anything like curry. In short, it was just awful. We won't eat there again. The only thing that was good was the shandy we ordered. I really had to get that off my chest.

We ate here and then, in the great weather, wanted to go to the water with our son. As we were getting the toys out of our car, a woman from the restaurant came up to us and told us we weren't allowed to park here anymore. Otherwise, the police would be called. Unfortunately, you don't feel welcome here, from the receptionist to the toilet attendant. You don't feel like a guest, but rather like a walking bundle of euros, and heaven forbid you break the parking rules. The schnitzel came quickly, but it was much too dark. Only the waiter was friendly.

Actually, it's quite nice. The food and drinks are good, but the prices are steep. The service was a bit overwhelmed. Everything took a bit longer than expected. But okay, service staff is in short supply 🤷🏼

It was our first time here and we were a bit skeptical due to the spartan decor, but we were impressed by the food and exceptionally good service and decided to return. The ambiance, however, leaves a lot of room for improvement; a few nice flowers/plants would liven up the dreary impression! It lacks coziness!

We've enjoyed coming here for years. Not a haute couture restaurant, but Austrian and delicious. And the ferryman, too. Very authentic! Even two years later: authentically good, even with a new tenant. We only miss our Z-schnitzel in the paprika style, or whatever it's called now. Instead, we've had hollandaise schnitzel. I'm not sure. Still a wonderful place, of course!

We'll start with the positive impressions: the receptionist was very friendly...the restaurant seemed very clean inside and out. The restrooms were new and also very clean. The waitress was very friendly, attentive, and quick. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment. Both schnitzels were obviously deep-fried...the fries were too hard and dry, meaning they were fried for too long! The side salad had a good variety, which was unfortunately ruined by the ready-made dressing. At this price point, I would expect the chef to be able to make their own salad dressing. And the other sauces for the schnitzel should also be reworked...it's not rocket science to make decent, tasty sauces; it's possible even with high customer turnover...overall, this wasn't a meal we would come back for again.

The restrooms are top-notch, and, as expected, we found a parking space within walking distance. Despite being busy, we were able to have a great conversation and understand each other at our outdoor table. The only thing that could have been improved: the food could have been hotter. This restaurant on the Sieg River in Troisdorf Bergheim is always busy when the weather is good. The breakfast is excellent, and the service is friendly and attentive.

We went there again and were disappointed again. The waitress was a bit "disturbed" and surprisingly placed our food on the table shortly after we ordered, and it wasn't for us at all. Shortly after, she came to our table with drinks, also not for us. Later, she walked around with a drink, not knowing who it was for. The menu had changed again. Now they count the slices of bread (a starter calls for exactly 9 slices; if that's not enough, a new bread basket costs €1.50). The vegetable quiche was 80% filled with feta cheese, with hardly any vegetables to be found. The fries (thick ones now, if you like them...) were floury, unfortunately not as crispy as they used to be with the thin ones. Reservations are only possible for groups of 10 or more people. You are shown to a table. At the entrance, a lady with a dog (which was slightly damp, possibly from the Sieg, as you know as a dog owner) was told that she wouldn't be allowed in with its "wet" fur. Later, however, she was brought in with her (possibly potty-trained) dog. The Siegfähre in particular has always been a popular spot for dog owners. The only positive thing: the restrooms have finally been renovated. A shame... okay for drinking, but nothing more. Not as good as they used to be. When the place is full, the portions are sometimes considerably smaller. Now the portions are very poorly presented; the place was packed, and the food was meager. The waitress was very nice and considerate. In contrast to the guests on Saturday afternoon! A group of "ladies" from a larger table felt they had to stand in the sun by the small wall of the back terrace. They stood right in the way, making room for waiters and waitresses, and cackled. The owner could have said something about that; this is a beer garden for sitting, not a standing party! Even guests could barely get past the "ladies." And to make matters worse, one lady knocked over her glass, and the poor waitress had to sweep up the mess. Sorry, that wasn't a pleasant visit. I usually enjoy it. Prices have also gone up enormously (!), like everywhere else, but every year so far it's gotten more expensive.

Very tasty food. Big portions. The staff is very accommodating. When the weather is nice, you can eat on the terrace. It's best to make a reservation, the tables under the parasols are in great demand. Very nice location on the Sieg.
