Zur Post in Wallenhorst

Waren Heute Abend zu Gast im Gasthof zur Post. Mussten aber leider 1,5 Std auf unser Essen warten. Wenn wir nicht bestellt hätten, wären wir aufgestanden und gegangen. Alles eine Frage der Organisation. Das Essen war in Ordnung, aber leider erst nach 1,5 Stunden.

We visited this pub/restaurant last year. We sat outside and were very pleased with our meals. We even gave a good rating. We decided to have another meal there last night and were very disappointed. On entering the pub, we were hit with the terrible fumes of smoke. Although there is a smoking area, this does not help others who don't smoke, when there is no door sectioning the smokers from the restaurant. We ordered our meals. I had a baked potato which was so small but looked large due to the huge amount of cream that was covering it. My husband ordered Bud Spencer schnitzel with Bratkartoffeln. What a disappointment. The bratkartoffeln were covered in oil and looked as if they had been reheated a few times. The schnitzel was so flat and was covered in what can only be described as a tin of English baked beans. That was it. On the menu was written "Careful, very hot (spicy) ". This was the reason why my husband picked that meal.. No spice at all. Not hot, not spicy and certainly not enjoyable. In fact, the pepper from the pepper pot had more spice than the meal! Such a shame as the last time we visited, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Sadly we wont be going there again..

Wir haben dort unsere Hochzeit gefeiert. Tolles Essen, fantastischer Service. Besser hätte unserer Hochzeitsfeier nicht sein können!

Gasthof mit Anbau, besonders geeignet für Familienfeiern etc. Bitte rechtzeitig anmelden da sehr vergriffen. Gute bürgerliche Küche und gepflegte Getränke. Bedienung nett und freundlich, wir kommen gerne wieder!

My husband and I came here one evening after shopping and decided to have a meal here. The service was very good, and the waitress (or the chefin?) was extremely friendly and helpful. Our meals came quickly and were both extremely tasty. We would certainly come here again, and would recommend it 100%
