Fine restaurant with a very special atmosphere. I received a very warm welcome from the host – you immediately feel welcome. The menu is original, with exciting combinations that you don't find everywhere.

Maritime, traditional, inn with an antique effect. Everything is great, it doesn't come around that often anymore in this style. But whether the dust and some dirt has to be on the lamps, on the picture frames and maritime exhibits? We don't think. There are ways to remove it gently.

Hello dear people! I have to tell you what a great evening I had in the restaurant "Zur Kogge". It was simply wonderful! The decor was so maritime, as if you were on an old sailor. And the food? Oh, it was delicious! And not only that, the portions were also generous, no stomach was left empty. But what impressed me the most was the service - so friendly and attentive. That's something that many other restaurants can't match. All in all, it was an evening that I won't soon forget. If you're in the area, definitely stop by!

Highly recommended rustic and very beautiful maritime restaurant. You are warmly welcomed and the service was quick and very friendly. Freshly prepared food, which was very tasty and a really large portion. While sitting at the place you can look at all the decorations inside, which fit perfectly with the Kogge restaurant at the harbor. There is also the option of sitting one floor higher, which means you can get very close to the decorations on the ceiling. Simply highly recommended. Thank you for the great service and the delicious food that the kitchen conjures up. We really enjoy coming back from Berlin.

Amazing atmosphere, like being in a 1700’s sailor restaurant. Amazing food with good portions. And great service. The two lady workers were very professional and friendly.

I've been to Rostock many times but never in the Cog. Why not? Highly recommended, good food, drinks and a very pleasant staff. Next time again.

Small but cozy. The tables are close together, which makes everything seem a bit cramped. Walls and ceilings are decorated with maritime objects, sea creatures and ship models. The waitress, who has to go up and down the narrow stairs several times throughout the evening with food and drinks, is very friendly and definitely deserves to be rewarded with a good tip for her efforts. The food is "simple", no frills. The fish was fresh and very tasty. If you want to eat fish comfortably and heartily, you've come to the right place. Recommendation: reserve a table in advance.

Very nice and authentic inn. I had the plaice fillet in a crispy coating. Apparently very popular, as others after me have ordered the same thing. The service was very nice and accommodating. After 7 p.m. it gets busier. A reservation is recommended.

Of course I had bones in the fish, but I'm always unlucky with that anyway, otherwise everything was tippy-top

We were passing through and managed to get a seat despite the restaurant being almost full. Service super friendly, food super tasty. The restaurant is pure Baltic Sea and authentically rustic - perfect for a culinary highlight on the Baltic Sea. Also very child friendly. Nothing to complain about, 5/5 and absolute recommendation!

We were tourists in Rostock for a weekend and had dinner in the Kogge with a couple we were friends with. Very tasty food, very friendly and knowledgeable service and a great atmosphere. Very happy to come again, definitely make a reservation!!!

I was visiting Rostock and went to the Kogge restaurant with business friends. It was very quaint and a lovely evening! The food (plaice Finkenwerder) was very good! Price-performance ratio is completely okay. The service was pleasant. We were also surprised by “Die Breitlings”, a shanty choir that performs there once a month. That was a break in conversation for us - but very atmospheric and appealing. Great evening!

We spontaneously decided to go there. And despite the house being full and actually no free table, they took great care to ensure that our stomachs were satisfied. The ambience is unique, rustic and, despite the many exhibits, not overloaded. All I can say about the food is incredibly delicious. The price/performance is definitely the same. Thanks again.

We stopped here in the evening on the way to the ferry to Scandinavia - with the clear intention of enjoying fresh fish. The restaurant impresses with its rustic interior, which is lovingly decorated with numerous seafaring souvenirs on the walls and ceiling. The menu was exactly what we expected: a good selection of fish dishes that make you want to eat the sea. We particularly recommend making a reservation in advance as the restaurant is busy. A small downer for us was the height of the tables, which we found to be a bit low - which affected the seating comfort somewhat. All in all, an authentic maritime experience with delicious food and a cozy atmosphere. Plus point: The large parking lot opposite is also suitable for motorhomes!

Zur Kogge ist ein gemütliches uriges Fischrestaurant, in dem man alte Traditionen, wie Lokalrinden erleben kann. Das Essen ist gut und reichlich, was mich immer freut ist, wenn ein Restaurant für eine Gruppe einen runden Tisch hat.

I visited the cog in a larger group! Great service. North German cool, but fast and attentive! The menu is surprisingly diverse, with many fish dishes as well as meat and vegetarian options! And it tasted great too!

The ambience is very nicely designed. You can find old relics, coats of arms and sea creatures everywhere. The service was very friendly and was able to tell us many interesting stories about the decoration. The price-performance ratio definitely suits you. All you can say about the food is "great", the portion size is great, you can taste the quality and there is something for every taste. We would love to come back.

Rustic, long-established pub with maritime flair, but expensive prices. Why a glass of wine here is as expensive as at the hotel bar is a mystery to me. We only had about an hour because the table had already been reserved for 6 people. So unfortunately we had to skip eating here.

Totally rustic restaurant with very good German cuisine. We don't come to Rostock that often, but when we do we like to go to the Kogge.

The awarding of stars speaks for itself. An excellently furnished old (or old fashioned) Fischerklause with friendly service and delicious food. We'd love to come back.

There are many, many restaurants that live off their reputation. And then there is the cog, where the employees struggle to live up to the restaurant's reputation. And they do it more than well. That's exactly how gastronomy should be... honest, with passion and without frills. I love this store. If you don't try the fish soup, it's your own fault!

Went here spontaneously for dinner on Saturday, but without a reservation they still made it possible. The food was super tasty, rarely eaten so well 👍. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Were very satisfied. Gladly again.

An attractive rustic-style restaurant, well located in the center of Rostock. Menu extensive, dishes tasted very good like home cooking. Card payment possible, toilet clean. The waitresses were professional, friendly and child-friendly. Recommended if you like traditional style fish.

Die Kogge ist das älteste Restaurant der Stadt. Urig eingerichtet und mit extrem freundlicher Bedienung. Wir haben lecker gegessen, die Fischgerichte sind sehr empfehlenswert.

I do not recommend visiting this, no english menu, they are not welcoming to tourists. Mini dogs as not allowed. It's good that there are many good places nearby, we quickly found them.

We saw a table reserved at 7pm so desided for that one. Food was wunderfull not cheap but very fresh fish. Around 6:30pm waitrass came and asked if we could pay. We said ok because we were finished anyway. But it feld rushed. I asked twice why pay now we still have 1/2 hr left before reservation. She said. ‘Because i have time now!’ So the general feeling was not that we where welcome there. To bad the place is really cosy and the food lovely.

We were there for dinner but didn't make a reservation. Luckily we still got two seats on the upper deck. Very nice restaurant, reminiscent of an old harbor bar. Very friendly staff. Very good food (of course fish - what else). Unfortunately the portions have shrunk a bit. I had green herrings. Instead of three - as shown on the Internet - there were only two. We would still like to come back and can recommend the restaurant without hesitation.

Luckily it was raining so we stopped there by chance. Friendly service, great food, not a long wait and the atmosphere is so great. You should definitely take a look when you are in Rostock.

Service was lackluster. Schnitzel was big but not special. Fried potatoes partially burnt and over-seasoned. The price does not reflect the expected quality. I suspect the restaurant makes a good living from tourists. You don't have to put in that much effort.

Very beautiful and authentically maritime-designed restaurant. What makes it all the more frustrating is that the food doesn't live up to its reputation. The fish soup was OK, but nothing special. The fried potatoes were either burnt or undercooked; The fish was burnt and dry and, as a fillet, not free of bones. Not reasonable value for money. The service was quite quick at the beginning, but slower than average once we had eaten. Some time had passed before the invoice arrived, which was paid individually. For people who would like to drink a beer in a “rustic” way, the Kogge is recommended; but not for eating.

We came across this quaint, small but fine restaurant during a long weekend in Rostock. It was nice to sit in the restaurant with lots of loving details, like being a guest at Käpt'n Hook. Very tasty fish dishes served by a cheerful waiter. Portions to fill you up and at a reasonable price... simply great. Everything was fine. We can warmly recommend it.

Was a recommendation from the taxi driver. A great quaint pub. We had herring roulette and solyanka. It was a culinary delight.

Reserved once and arrived 15 minutes late, my reservation was given to someone. I ordered Salamon but didn't get Salamon, instead I got grilled salmon with a square pork roll!

We walked in here by chance. The menu inspired us. Nice service and a very rustic atmosphere. The best thing is a great meal. Like nuts, homemade. There was also good beer. The herring variations were very tasty and also the pickled fried herring with fried potatoes like before!! Be sure to try the cucumber salad too. So always happy again. Price performance was completely ok for us.

Had a spontaneous meal here this evening. Great quaint restaurant! The facility is great! I ate fish ragout. Was absolutely delicious! Changing the supplement was no problem. A senior portion at a reduced price was also possible. I have rarely seen such a motivated and friendly employee who does his job with so much fun. Sauce industrielle (ail), alors comment de juger du fish and ships ? Nous sommes venus avec petit chien et le 1° contact était "le chien doit être sous la table". A éviter je regrette de n'avoir pas pris un pain avec du poisson le long de la mer à 50m!

The restaurant “Zur Kogge” is a small but fine location. I was there today for an early dinner and had a very good meal. If you want to eat there during the usual peak times, you should definitely make a reservation in advance. Great ambience and great service. If I ever come to Rostock again, I will definitely come back there.

Always worth a visit because you get really full and tasty plates for your money. If you don't necessarily have any fear of contact with other guests, you don't necessarily have to make a reservation (but it might be an advantage). Very nice and courteous service. The Kogge is very authentic and down-to-earth. The food is simple but tastes very good! The products were high quality. The staff was very friendly and joked with the guests. It was my first time there and I would love to come back.

Ci sono andato da solo, per mangiare matjes. La signora che mi ha accolto mi ha accompagnato grugnendo con un altro cliente che era appena arrivato. Posto molto caratteristico, al limite del kitsch. I matjes non erano straordinari. Prezzo normale. Altra grugnita della signora all'uscita. Non imperdibile.
