This is the best medieval restaurant I've ever visited! The staff are friendly, humorous, and stay true to their roles. The restaurant is cozy and really makes you feel like you've stepped back into the Middle Ages. The food is excellent —the fire-roasted duck has a crispy skin and juicy meat. The soup and roasted ribs are also very delicious. The portions are generous. Eating with your hands was a fun experience. The little game at the end was also quite entertaining. If I get the chance, I will definitely come back. This is the best medieval restaurant I have ever been to! The clerk was very friendly, humorous, and true to character. The restaurant is cozy and really feels like you're back in the Middle Ages. Although it is a theme restaurant, the food is not sloppy at all. The fire-roasted duck has crispy skin and juicy meat (much better than the roast duck in many traditional restaurants in Germany). The soup and barbecued ribs were also very delicious (the ribs were not overly seasoned with barbecue sauce, perfect for meat lovers). The portions for main meals are huge. The experience of eating with your hands is very fresh, and the after-dinner games are also fun. I will definitely come again if given the chance.

So let it be announced that I recently stopped at the Petri Keller and had praiseworthy experiences. The meal served there is of the highest quality: rich and tasty, a real delight for the palate. The abundance of food is such that it can fill the stomach of every hungry person. The maids and servants in this house are of the most friendly disposition and are always ready to be of service to the guest. With quick feet and a cheerful heart they rush to fulfill any request. Your attentiveness and politeness leave nothing to be desired and contribute to a very pleasant stay. Therefore, all travelers and hungry people are advised to visit this excellent inn. Praise and praise to the landlady and her virtuous servants who have created such a pleasant retreat.

Rarely have we had so much fun. We were in this restaurant during the week in May and were simply thrilled. Everything was just right. We will definitely come back on our next vacation and have already recommended this restaurant to friends. It is simply something special.

Nice atmosphere with good waiters who play their role well. To eat: First some bread, it wasn't bad but not good either. Chicken soup as a starter, totally tasteless and the chicken was basically non-existent. The main course was okay but not more than that. The dessert came from the freezer. Added to this is the fact that on weekends the menu is reduced and you are forced to choose the more expensive dishes.

Unfortunately the meat was very dry and there was no sauce when asked. It's a shame, otherwise very nice and friendly.

A great and super furnished location in a vaulted cellar, you can really immerse yourself in the scenery. The portions are really generous, you'll definitely be full! The service consisted of 2 cellars, one was super friendly and funny, the other was rather grumpy, which we didn't like about his style... In addition, short drinks are served and games are played. All in all we had a great evening!

Ambiance: medieval, cozy & rustic - overall great Dishes: very tasty and above all rich Prices: Vegetarian dishes maybe a bit expensive, but perfectly fine considering the ambience and the large portions Service: when we came in we were greeted by a waiter who unfortunately seemed very annoyed and as if he didn't want to take us to the table. At the table we were mainly served by another waiter, who was again very friendly and tried very hard. At the end of the evening, after we had paid and got up, we wanted to quickly drink the last sip of our drink while standing, when the cellar from the beginning came back and said “stand down and go, we're closing” in an extremely unfriendly tone. Here, too, he could have simply said it more politely. Apart from this waiter, the service from the other waiter was great.

The eight of us reserved a table before our visit. As soon as you call, you get a foretaste of what awaits you in the Petrikeller. The service staff on site was very friendly & the atmosphere is really interesting. It takes a while for your eyes to get used to the darkness - but then you can really enjoy it. Here you don't just get dinner, but a whole experience. You eat with your hands and a knife; there are no cutlery. There were also games at the end of the meal to win small prizes (shots), etc. - we really liked that! But our highlight was the bard, who played really well and sweetened our evening with live music. “Blue like the sea” became our holiday song🌊😂 As the only vegetarian in the group, I got a vegetarian option instead of the knight's meal/knight's banquet (for now 👍) - but I still found the price of €35 very high for an oven-baked cheese with some bread, which you would otherwise get à la carte for €19 receives. I think the €16 extra charge for some bread as a starter and a little Kaiserschmarren as dessert is a bit much. However, the meat eaters' food was very tasty (except for the ribs). You have to be prepared to pay a little more per head (we paid just under €95 for 1x meat option + 1x vegetarian + drinks) - but you also pay for the entertainment here. All in all, we had a lovely evening at Petrikeller Rostock and would recommend the experience!

I go to this cellar because I like the atmosphere and the way I eat. It is an overall event. Unfortunately my food was quite burnt; That really diminished my experience 😪

The evening in the Petrikeller was a real highlight. We don't need to talk about the food, it was plentiful and incredibly good! But the ambience, the furnishings and the hospitality were outstanding. Our servants served us fantastically and in the end we were each able to get a shot. The only downer is the lack of a vegan dish on the menu. But I was also taken into consideration and the feta was left out of the begging monk's bread. Overall, not just delicious food, but also an experience! Only recommended!

Dear people! Your Highness, accompanied by his entourage who dined there, is pleased to announce the following: He returned to this tavern with four other noblemen and ladies. The servants who worked there showed us our table and politely asked us not to hesitate if we wanted food or drink. The atmosphere of this inn transported Your Highness back in time, just as he liked. Immediately afterwards there was a shout of "SERVANT!" through the magnificent vaulted cellar. The wishes of Your Highness and his entourage were immediately recorded and communicated to the local chef. So that they didn't lack anything and to amuse everyone's spirits, the servants brought a greeting from the kitchen (sour cherry schnapps). To moisten Your Highness's throat, a most delicious mead brew was served, which was rarely equaled by any other. A loaf of bread from the local baker was then served, accompanied by goose fat, which was extremely delicious. As the shadow of the local sundial moved modestly, Your Highness was served a dish that made his mouth water. Plenty of local pork ribs were served, which filled the stomach considerably. Cabbage and bread provided a refreshing change. Since this tavern did not have a court jester, at the end of the meal Your Highness and his entourage were treated to an entertainment game through which additional spirits could be won. As a souvenir, pictures with authentic killing tools were made to remember this magnificent evening. Your Highness and the entourage were able to look back on a magnificent evening, which gave reason to consider this taproom again on future trips.

Accompanied by my guild, I returned to this exquisite inn late at night. We bought food and drink for cash and were humbly entertained by the servants present. The ribs from the sow, as well as the mead brew, were of an unchristian, almost devilish quality. Inspired by the good entertainment, we showed mercy and gave the service mob a hearty tip. Gladly again👍🏻

Wow, what a great experience! This is more than just going out to eat, it's a fine overall package. I started with confirming my reservation by phone. All the servants talk like they did in the Middle Ages. "Virgin Rusha, greetings...". It put you in a good mood and looked forward to it days before. Great ambience, delicious food, great atmosphere. In true style, people eat with fingers and daggers; even the red fruit jelly is slurped out of the bowl or slurped on the fingers. There are surprises and at the end there is a dice for the coin. If you're ever in Rostock, you shouldn't miss a visit to the Petrikeller. A great evening, worth repeating if we ever end up here again!

Immersed in another world. When you arrived in the cellar you were immediately in the Middle Ages. Great atmosphere, authentic furnishings & friendly service, atmospheric and funny singing from musicians from table to table. Experience gastronomy, because you eat everything with your hands. Unfortunately the food was really disappointing. The baked ribs were very dry and tasteless. The coleslaw was not homemade. 19€ for an oven cheese is just too crazy and not justified at all. It's a shame, especially when the food is so puristic, the taste should be more in the foreground. Unfortunately, wholesale market style doesn’t fit. The emphasis here is on quantity rather than quality. Good taste and home-cooked food is part of a great restaurant visit. Given the prices, please let it taste like homemade! A great experience for the ambience - but unfortunately not recommended at all for the food!

*take scroll out of robe, roll out and clear throat* Hear, hear, dear people, what I am proclaiming. The “Petriekeller” tavern where I was a guest was... A delight of gluttony. The tavern is dedicated to medieval virtue. Drinks like that that I thought were related to mead... were fabulous and benevolent. The meal was sumptuous and exquisite. The servants, well trained in their craft, lived up to the reputation of the inn. May luck be with the gift giver in the future I would be happy to spend another evening here.

The location is very nicely done, the map is a bit difficult to understand, but you get the hang of it with time. The live musician was awesome! 10/10. He definitely set the mood. However, what made us never go there again was the “servant”. The waiter. First of all, he was pretty annoyed that we were only 15 adults and two children and therefore didn't want to pay for 17 full people. But we only have 15 people registered. The little ones were 4 years old... Furthermore, I have never been treated like this in a restaurant in my life. It didn't say anywhere that there was a ban on cell phones. So I took a picture of the food and was warned to put my “witchcraft” aside. When the four-year-old got bored after 1.5 hours, she wanted to look at pictures on her cell phone, but we were yelled at. The little one started crying and to top it off, an insinuation was made that I was a devil. However, numbers were then electronic... Funny, I am of the opinion that there was no card machine in the Middle Ages. Kindness looks different.

We were here again after a year and everyone really enjoyed it. Great ambience, just like in the Middle Ages with a knight's feast, great entertainment, friendly and fast service. Simply great. We'd love to come back!

The service was more than friendly and completely adapted to the theme/ambience. Anyone who likes the Middle Ages will love the Petrikeller and even those who aren't really a fan of the Middle Ages will love it there! Definitely a must visit at least once in your life!

Authentischer, uriger Keller mit gutem Essen. Hier isst man von Suppe bis Nachspeise alles mit den Händen, Knecht und Magd bedienen einen und waschen einem danach die Hände ;) Wer einfach mal was anderes erleben will oder für einen schmalen Taler üppig essen will, ist hier richtig.

Nach zahlreichen hier abgehaltenen Gelagen wird es nun wohl auch mal Zeit, dass ich meine Meinung zum Petrikeller kundtue. Das Essen war stets wohlschmeckend und üppig, die Preise absolut angemessen, die Mägde und Knechte jederzeit freundlich und zuvorkommend und das Bier außerordentlich bekömmlich. 5 Sterne sind noch zu wenig für dieses großartige Restaurant! Es ist nur schade, dass schon um 22 Uhr geschlossen wird, aber dafür können sie ja nichts. Ich freue mich jedenfalls schon auf viele weitere Abende im historischen Gewölbe!

Es war ein toller Abend, das Essen war spitze. Die Knechte und der Spielmann, haben einen super Job gemacht.

Der Petrikeller ist ein ganz besonderes Restaurant. Mittelalterlicher Charme, Lutherdeutsch in Wort und Schrift, wo hat man das heute noch. Tischsitten anno Frühmittelalter. Ein Ort zum Eintauchen in eine längst verschwundene Zeit. Ein Besuch km Petrikeller ist wie ein Kurzurlaub in einer Taverne um 1000 herum. Wir haben es sehr genossen und schon mehrfach weiterempfohlen.

Wir haben dort in der schönen Ambiente mit 17 Leuten Geburtstag gefeiert und hatten als Essen, das Rittergelage und schmackhafte Getränke zur Auswahl. Es hat uns sehr gefallen und eine extra Einlage vom Minnesänger gab es auch, war mega cool. Also gerne immer wieder. 😊

Wer es mag mit den Fingern zu essen wie es damals gang und gebe war ist dort in den besten Händen. Es hat eine gemütliche Atmosphäre durch die vielen kleinen Sachen. Die Mitarbeiter sind super und reden wie damals. Ich war begeistert von dem Petri Keller.

Wir waren da heute zu zweit essen und es war einfach top. Die Bedienung war super freundlich und das Essen und die Getränke top wir werden da sicher wieder hin gehen.

Wunderschöner Mittelalterkeller wo man Speisen kann wie es früher an den großen Tafeln im Mittelalter Gang und gebe war. Livemusik zwischendurch mit einem Barden. Im Petrikeller kann man schnell die Zeit aus den Augen verlieren. Aber es lädt auch einfach zum verweilen ein. Das Essen (Rittermahl) ist für mindestens 5 Leute geeignet. Man wird super satt und es ist super lecker. Preisleistung stimmt! Immer wieder gerne.

Sehr schönes Restaurant im Keller gelegen. Das ganze Ambiente passt zum Thema Mittelalter. Die Knechte und Mägde fallen nie aus ihren Rollen und haben sichtlich Spaß an ihrer Arbeit. Premessa: è una tappa obbligata per chi visita Rostock! Locale e cena a tema medievale, con una esperienza immersiva pazzesca: birre artigianali spettacolari, musica antica, giochi fra i commensali…in un ambiente sotterraneo con arredamenti in linea con lo stile. Le pietanze sono spartane, buonissime e dalle porzioni enormi. Noi abbiamo preso una mezza anatra e una fonduta (in foto) e non siamo riusciti a finirle da quanto fossero completi come piatti. Il prezzo è commisurato all’esperienza ma il rapporto qualità/prezzo è davvero elevato! Super consigliato per chi visita la città!

Werte Damen und Herren höret was ich euch über diese Gaststatt kund tuen möchte. Er wurde vom Knechte in einer gar unglaublichen Umgebung empfang, in der er sich vor kam wie an der Tafel des Ritters zu Rostocke…. Der Verständlichkeit halber der Rest in Hochdeutsch: Die Atmosphäre kann nicht anders beschrieben als mittelalterlich, dass die Magistra von Sperberling kein Helles Ferdoker neben einem bestellt ist alles. Die Kellner haben das typische Marktsprech und sind gewandet um die Immersion vollkommen zu machen. Rustikale Holzstühle, Felle und unverputzte Steinmauern verstärken den Charme. Brot mit einem Dipp kennt man aus vielen Restaurants als Vorspeise. Ein viertel Brot, das noch warm, ist mit Schmalz habe ich aber noch nie erlebt. Auch die anderen Gerichte sind nicht nur lecker sondern auch sehr reichhaltig. Essen mit Messer und Gabel? Irrtum: hier darf man alles mit den Fingern essen. Nur ein Messer dient als Hilfsmittel. Bei Bratkartoffeln oder Rotkohl doch etwas ungewohnt mit den Fingern zu zugreifen. Aber es gibt selbstverständlich einen Schlabberlatz, damit man sich nicht die Kleidung versaut. Ich hatte das Glück, dass zusätzlich noch Spielleute da waren und den Abend mit Musik füllten. Es ist übrigens auch kein Problem in Gewandung dort hinzugehen. Eine klare Empfehlung für alle die mittelalterlich interessiert sind und mal etwas anderes erleben wollen.

Nach einem verregneten Tag mit Abstand die beste Entscheidung hier einzukehren! Die Gerichte (Fisch und Rippchen) waren mächtig groß, satt wird man für sein Geld definitiv Besonders die Forelle im Speckmantel war geschmacklich ein Traum. Dazu gab es der Zeit angemesse Saucen zum Dippen (Kräuterquark und Meerrettich). Das Ambiente war klasse und stimmig und die Bedienung sehr freundlich und auch zu Scherzen aufgelegt. Ein tolles Erlebnis, hier lohnt sich jeder Besuch! Absoluter Tipp ist das dunkle Bier.

Wer Fleisch mit Kartoffeln und Kohl liebt ist super aufgehoben. Große Portion! Und die Bedienung bleibt immer in der Rolle im Mittelalter. Einfach lecker und locker.

Unfreundlich, geschmacklos, schlimmer als im Mittelalter! Für die „Kneipe“ ein Spitzenkonzept. Es gibt eine Fleischplatte, keine Auswahlmöglichkeiten, das Ganze wird dir lieblos auf den Tisch geknallt, mit dem permanenten dummen Mittelalter Geschwafel. Individuelle Wünsche der Gäste werden geflissentlich ignoriert mit dem wieder rum dummen Gelaber, dass dies wohl nicht zeitgemäße Wünsche und schon gar nicht auf der Speisekarte befindliche Getränke sein. Jeder ausgegebene Euro ist hier völlig falsch investiert.

Nach 20 Jahren war ich mal wieder im Petrikeller. Es ist noch genau so urig, die Kellner reden immer noch in mittelalterlicher Sprache und es geht noch immer deftig zu. Doch nicht nur das Erlebnis war es wert. Auch das Essen (Huhn und Schweinerippe) war sehr köstlich und eignete sich gut dafür, mit den Fingern zu essen. Man sollte nur vorsichtig sein mit der Bestellung, denn um ein ganzes Menü zu schaffen, muss man schon sehr hungrig sein. Ein schöner Spaß und ein voller Bauch sind garantiert.

Das Restaurant mit den exzellenten Speisen, genialer mittelalterlicher Atmosphäre und den freundlichen und aufmerksamen Knechten (Kellnern) ist ein absolutes Muss nicht nur für Mittelalterfans. Wir werden sicher wiederkommen und euch bis dahin fleißig weiter empfehlen. 5 Sterne von uns ✨✨✨✨✨ Danke für den wunderbaren Abend!!!

Urige Kneipe im Charme des Mittelalters... rustikale Küche und deren Bezeichnungen. Sehr gemütlich und aufmerksames Personal... Mägde und Knechte. Essen ist okay ( es gibt sicherlich geschmacklich besseres) aber die Portionen für 9 Menschen reichlich.

Es war echt ein Erlebnis und ich war zum 1x in einem solchen Restaurant. Auch die Unterhaltung war gut. Das Essen war aber alles bereits vorgekocht, daher war es nicht möglich irgend eine Anpassung vorzunehmen. Geschmacklich war es leider auch nicht berauschend.

Waren als Fam. Zu viert zu Abend essen. Unser jüngster ist 11 geworden. So ein Essen im " Mittelalter " ist doch etwas besonderes. Fleisch mögen wir auch alle gern. Mit den Fingern essen toll. Das Lokal hat zwei Gesichter. Das eine ist cool , nette Einrichtung , tolles Gewölbe, der Empfang ist witzig ( mittelalterliche Sprache etc. ). Verkleidung des Personals, also wirklich mal was anderes. Für Kinder spannend. Live Musik von zwei Musikanten, natürlich verkleidet. Das zweite Gesicht , für mich eigentlich immer das wichtigere, ist das Essen und der resultierende Preis. Das es reichlich Fleisch gibt habe ich gewusst, aber so freudlos zubereitet , kaum ( gar nicht ? ) gewürzt , kein Grill Geschmack. Keine Soße , irgendwann ist mir es im Halse steckengeblieben. Nun muss ich erstmal googlen, ob es im Mittelalter kein frisches Gemüse gegeben hat , oder Gewürze noch nicht bekannt waren ( glaub aber schon , dass die gute Gewürze kannten und verwandt haben ). Lange Rede - kurzer ..... Schade !!weil das Ambiente gut war , die Bedienung sich Mühe gegeben hat , der Abend schön war. Kann man mehr draus machen ( Gruß an den Koch , Fleisch anbraten für Röstaromen und versiert würzen ist nicht soooo schwer ). Wein wurde im Keramik Krug serviert, so lala, halber Ltr. , 13,-€ glaub ich. Haben insgesamt 143,-€ bezahlt. Ausbaufähig.
