Three years ago, I complained that the restaurant resembled a train station waiting room... guests were constantly coming in and standing in front of the tables... I hadn't been back since then... and it had changed on this particular day... the guests weren't standing in front of the tables, no... the hotel guests, about 25 people, were in the adjacent "wine bar," formerly an ice cream parlor. And these guests were using the Brojlerbar to get to the hotel. When I spoke to the waiter about it, he had the nerve to say that the doors had been there since 1971. Dear management... either you close the door from the Brojlerbar to the hotel, or you make guests aware that they should walk around the outside to get to the hotel from the wine bar.

The restaurant is small and often crowded. The Colombleu dish was small, greasy, and tasted bad. There wasn't enough cheese or ham. The fries were frozen. Other dishes, like the chicken nuggets with fries, were okay, but nothing special. Many customers order the chicken, which probably tastes better. The restaurant is cramped, the food isn't good, but right next door is the Weinecke restaurant, which is nicer and the food is a thousand times better.

Super friendly server! ...and then he came... golden yellow, crispy with the smell of my childhood, with fries ...and my beloved coleslaw 😋😋😋... What more can I say? Legendary!!! Today, after 36 years, I went back to the Broilerbar to eat half a Gockel (a German rooster). Everything was just like back then, when we went to the indoor swimming pool afterward, dressed in uniform. Only there was no Rostock beer anymore, but non-alcoholic beer from Bavaria. The way one of the waitresses smiled at me, I thought she recognized me after all these years. But that can't be true; everyone's under 30. Thank you for the wonderful memory and the excellent service! 😇

We visited the Broilerstube today, after a long wait. It wasn't our first visit, as we weren't tourists. After waiting for about an hour, we were finally assigned a table. A somewhat stressed waiter—according to the nameplate, Mr. M. Al Najil—took our order. At a table in front of us, guests who had been assigned a table shortly after us were waiting for our waiter to finally take their orders and so they asked another waiter if they could order. Overall, Mr. M. Al Najil didn't seem experienced enough to handle the rush at the Broilerstube. We each ordered a 1/2 broiler with Puszta sauce and fries. The 1/2 broiler turned out to be very small on our plates; it had been larger in previous years, which other guests also noted. However, the taste was good, as it has been in all the years before. The coleslaw tasted like it came from a discount store, and some of the fries on one plate were more than crispy, in fact, they were very hard. Overall, we've left the Broilerstube feeling more satisfied.

And once again we went to the Broilerbar. Even if it's full, you always have a chance. It's quick if you want a table for two at the counter or at the side. It takes a little longer if you want a large table. You're put in the queue and given a pager. There were only two of us, and within five minutes our pager beeped and we were able to sit at the counter. I always eat a quarter of a broiler with fries; you can choose your own sauce. It's super delicious, and the service is great too. The staff are friendly and quick; once you're seated, you don't really want to leave. We'll definitely be back, because a Broilerbar is a must. Hanse Sail 2025 - where were we again? Of course, the Broilerbar. No reservations, it was as wonderful as every time. Thanks to the team, you're just in a great mood.

For me, it's an absolute institution and a fantastic experience every time! I ate there with my parents as a child in the 90s, and now I go there with my family! A culinary classic from the GDR era, which tastes here the way it should – just like it did back in the day at the Hotel Neptun! Succulent, with a crispy skin, and simply delicious. It's a shame you can't reserve a table, but so far we've always managed to get a seat – even with a bit of a wait. Highly recommended!

I was there on August 15, 2025. Without a reservation, you have to accept a bit of a wait, but you'll gladly pass the time at the bar with live music and delicious drinks. But then you're treated to a delicious broiler and various side dishes. The service was exceptionally professional and friendly, and the communication was extremely pleasant. We'll most likely see you again at the next opportunity.

It's not comparable to the excellent broiler restaurants of the GDR era, as advertised on the restaurant's menu. The broilers in no way (in terms of seasoning and size) match the quality one would expect from the GDR era. The price-performance ratio was also completely unjustified. For half a (fairly small) broiler, served with mediocre fries, dips, and salad, you paid around €20. Vegetarians/vegans are left with only side dishes like raw vegetable salad or potato dishes. The service was sycophantically nice until they felt the tip was too small, after which they didn't even say goodbye. Overall, not recommended!

Anyone who wants to eat broiler meat and is willing to spend a lot of money on it will find a relatively good deal here. For those who want something different, I can only say: You won't get much more than (what feels like) frozen goods (nuggets, cordon bleu, fries, croquettes, etc.) at the rest of the restaurant. The sauces and side salads were very good, though not exactly made according to GDR recipes. The building and surrounding area smell extremely of grease (this doesn't bother long-time East Germans, but it should be noted), the service staff is friendly, and if you don't mind waiting a long time for a table, everything should be fine. For the price, you naturally expect a bit more and more authentic food, rather than just trying to give people that "GDR feeling." Here, you're clearly paying more for deliberate (!) nostalgia and fame than for authentic (home-cooked), delicious dishes.

The broiler tastes just like it always did, simply delicious. The same goes for the fries and the cordon bleu. The curry mayo is absolutely delicious. Tip: don't arrive too late; it keeps the wait short. The service was very friendly and prompt. You'll definitely go back again.

Many thanks to the older waiter with the glasses. Very friendly man who served us excellently. Please give him my best regards, he will remember us! We were there on a Friday evening at 8 p.m., and unfortunately, the restaurant was fully booked for dine-in due to high demand. He then offered us to take the food to go, and we ate it on the beach. We waited maybe 10 minutes for our order. The chicken and fries were delicious; I recommend the curry mayo. I highly recommend taking the food to the beach. 10/10 experience in good weather. Try to avoid peak times, as the restaurant is very small.

The grilled chicken with fries and side dishes looked delicious and was a decent portion. We opted for a vegetarian alternative and a stuffed chicken breast. Unfortunately, the herb curd with the baked potato tasted somewhat sweet. The portion of curd was also quite overdone. The chicken breast was hard and dry. We sat at the counter, and it was very busy. Reservations seem to work, although some tables were blocked off by the staff. The inside is rather dark and very stuffy. This restaurant was recommended to us; I wouldn't go there.

Cult and nostalgia, a touch of former "GDR luxury." I love this trip back in time. You might have to plan for a bit of a wait, but the waiters manage it with a TV channel that you get. The standard is, of course, half a broiler with fries and white cabbage.

Cheers to the grilled chicken! Juicy, crispy, perfectly cooked – unfortunately, it was overcooked, literally. That puts a stop to any hope of Easter eggs. 🐣🥲 The BROILER grill restaurant evidently serves its chicken with such dedication that even vegetarians might be tempted to take a moment to think. Plus, delicious sauces and side dishes that will make your mouth water – or as the grill owner would say: "Cluck!" Retro-chic ambiance, prompt and friendly service, and a view of the promenade included. If not an Easter celebration with the chicken, then at least a feast on the plate. I'll be back – if only out of respect for this magnificent final performance of the chicken.

In this place, the only thing that exists is history... we waited a very long time for the food, the beef soups are a joke, not only are they not good and over-salted, almost without meat, but the portions are too small for a 3-year-old child. The chicken was nothing special, the only thing that was good was the fries. The prices do not correspond to the proposed food. This is definitely our last visit and I warn you against ordering beef broth... unless you want to laugh :)

to the Broiler Bar in Warnemünde The Broiler Bar in Warnemünde is absolutely worth a visit. The food is excellent – juicy, well seasoned and cooked to perfection. If you love chicken, you'll get your money's worth here. The staff is also extremely friendly and accommodating, which makes the stay even more pleasant. Even with a baby, the visit was completely uncomplicated. The team is relaxed and child-friendly. Unfortunately, reservations are not possible and at peak times you have to expect waiting times of around 30 minutes. But: The wait is definitely worth it. The quality of the food and the service make up for it. The prices are fair and, considering the performance, are completely acceptable. Clear recommendation!

Friendly service and an original GDR atmosphere (listed?) - but the much-vaunted broiler isn't worth mentioning. Too dry, barely seasoned, the side dishes run of the mill or from a can. We can do this better on the gas grill at home! What's also suspicious is that there is no indication anywhere of where the chickens are sourced from. Presumably not from regional companies with species-appropriate husbandry.

Absolute MUST.....for everyone (Ossis) who still knows "Goldbroiler"......They make broilers like they did 40 years ago in the GDR. So "Wessis" if you want to get to know the food culture of the GDR, this is the best place. But remember.....ordering a seat in advance....is safer before you are disappointed and can only enjoy the delicious smell from outside.

While visiting Warnemünde Germany from my hometown of San Francisco, California, Grillstube Broiler was recommended. The restaurant was very small and very busy. The restaurant was very cozy, well lit, and clean. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. I decided to order the 1/2 size Broiler Chicken with Fries, and Cabbage salad. The menu offered beverages and I ordered a large size Rostocker dark beer. The beer was refreshingly cold. I dined at the counter because there were no table seats. The Broiler (rotisserie) Chicken was served hot, moist, and perfectly cut. I absolutely enjoyed the Chicken Broiler meal and my interaction with the workers even though my German language is elementary. I definitely recommend a visit.

Cult since GDR times! Reservations are not possible, but with luck you can get a table quickly. The broilers are perfectly cooked, crispy with a great marinade, great fries and various sauces as desired. I recommend the devil's sauce. There is also a very good white cabbage salad. The prices are ok for Warnemünde. The 80ies Ferling, which I loved so much back when I was a GDR teenager, is available free of charge.

Aaaaber leider mussten wir feststellen, dass das Hähnchen sehr trocken war und kein Geschmack mehr hatte und die Pommes schon dunkelbraun und sehr hart waren. Dem Keller haben wir dann direkt angesprochen mit dem Ergebnis - ich sage dem Koch Bescheid-. Resultat: ausgetrocknete Hähnchen mit Pommes mit trinken für knapp 50 € Ich/ wir würden da nicht mehr essen gehen wollen.

Was recommended to visit, it was a good recommendation. Arrived 10 mins after opening and was already 3/4 full. Obviously an institution and was going whilst in the DDR. I ordered half chicken with Puszta sauce, curry mayo and devil sauce with chips. The chicken was deliciously moist and the sauces also yum, one is a secret sauce. Highly recommend this place, staff were friendly and helpful.

Very tasty broiler. Staff consistently great. Unfortunately, it's not possible to reserve a table because if there's a lot of people you'll have to wait for a free seat, but it's definitely worth it.

The Broilerbar in the Neptun Hotel is a traditional restaurant that already existed in GDR times. If you want to eat a well-grilled chicken/broiler and also want to see the Baltic Sea, this is the right place for you. You cannot reserve a table there but may have to wait on site until something becomes available. But it is well organized so that the waiting order is adhered to. The service there is friendly and the waiting time for the food to be served is short.

Ich bin Einheimische und liebe dieses Restaurant schon sehr sehr lange. Ich habe niemals irgendwo einen besseren Broiler gegessen. Die Haut ist so knusprig, das Fleisch zart und Pommes und Curry Mayonnaise dazu, einfach nur lecker!!! Das Restaurant ist sehr beliebt, sodass man manchmal etwas auf Plätze warten muss, aber mit Pieper gemütlich in der Hotellobby ist das kein Problem. Es lohnt sich definitiv!

The food in the Broiler Bar at the Neptun Hotel Warnemünde was excellent – juicy, spicy and perfectly prepared. The broiler in particular is a delight, grilled to perfection and served with a lot of love. The ambience is also appealing: nice and cozy, with a great view of the Baltic Sea. The service was first class, attentive and very friendly. You really feel welcome here as a guest. Clear recommendation for anyone staying in Warnemünde. We'll definitely be back! 3 extra tips: 1. If you want to combine eating with a walk through Warnemünde and save some money on parking, it's best to park at the Mittelmole in the large WIRO parking lot. There you pay every 3 hours: just €3 each for three hours. 2. Reservations cannot be made at the Broiler Bar! Either be there on time before the restaurant opens or bring more time. You will then receive a pager (a device that vibrates when a table becomes available) and can wait in the hotel in a relaxed manner. If it is very busy it may take longer as the broiler bar is very popular. 3. Another advantage of dining at the Broiler Bar is that you are safe from the flying fish fry hunters and can enjoy the delicious food in peace.

Unfortunately the quality of the food has declined. We missed the seasoning and crispiness of the broiler. On our last visit there was a mix of salads on the plate. Now there seems to be only a small amount of coleslaw or carrot salad left, so it's a surprise package. The fries were not sufficiently baked and were not at all crispy. Overall, the food wasn't particularly hot. We are happy to pay the increased price for good quality, but the quality should be there.

Today we still say: Let's go to the BroilerBar when we feel like delicious broilers and long for the taste of our childhood. We have been coming to your broiler room since childhood. We never had to wait long. If it's full, there's a "beeper" and you go to the Neptune Lounge and wait there. Just don't go to the door, otherwise in the worst case scenario they'll have to look for you and you'll be greeted with "We thought they fell in the flower boxes" when you return. Everyone is always very friendly, even when it's full and the queue is long. It's small and quaint where you live. You have to love it. Nothing has changed since childhood, the same counter, the same menu, the same delicious bird. We love it. The opening times have changed a bit over the years, but that's not a bad thing. It's always amusing for us when people start lining up at 11:45 a.m. so that we can come in at 12 p.m. We always laugh when we come across the promenade and see how many people seemed to have the same idea. Eating to go or a doggy box if you can't manage the portion, that's no problem. We love your devil's sauce and took some home with us today. Even though we are locals, it's always like a short vacation to the past and we always really enjoy it with you. The tourists often expect who knows what and often make long faces - we can still say today "you don't know what's good" and hope that you stay with them for a long time.

We were there on a Wednesday evening around 6:30 p.m. and had to wait half an hour before we got a table. The waitress was super attentive and also answered questions about the bar. The order and the food came quickly. It was again very tasty and filling.

We were with you in May and thought it was great. However, we were turned away from our current family vacation with a dog, which we found really sad, as the Baltic Sea is known for being dog-friendly. Guests with dogs are generally welcome in dining establishments. It's a shame that the grill room is one of the exceptions.

It's great, like in GDR times, you can't get a seat without ordering. Nice staff and we were able to take the broilers with us outside of the house. They were really tasty 😋.

It was a wonderful evening. The food was very good 👍 and the drinks were also okay. Everyone was satisfied. For dessert, there was a small chocolate, lovingly presented on the plate. We'll definitely be back! 😋
