Absolutely! I remember the Käsmühle from the 1950s. We went there for dinner with a group last week. Homely cooking, Hessian specialties, a good selection for every taste, including vegetarian options. Fast and friendly service. Spacious interior. It's worth a visit!

Food was good, ambiance was okay, noise level was high. Service was okay. Ordering drinks again after dinner was quite a tedious process.

We explored the location on a bike ride. Due to the bad weather, the beer garden was only moderately busy. The location is very large with outdoor seating, a covered area, a restaurant, and several other buildings that can be booked for parties, etc. There's also a large lawn where you can sit comfortably under the trees, and a stream for the kids to play in. We sat on the veranda; there were two of us, and we were seated at a table for four. However, a server probably politely pointed out that we should sit at a table for two next time; as I said, the veranda was almost empty. We only had a drink; the food selection didn't impress us. In general, it was very loud, hectic, and hectic for the number of guests; it was definitely not cozy. Servers were rushing around every few seconds, sometimes not knowing what to do with the food. The food was also delivered very quickly; less than five minutes after ordering, the schnitzel was on the table. This gave the impression that everything here is geared towards mass consumption. Conclusion: It's okay as a refreshing stop on a bike tour, but there are better options for eating out.

We had lunch at the "Zur Käsmühle" restaurant today. The restaurant is beautifully situated in a green setting. Beautifully furnished rooms and a lovely outdoor area with a beer garden. The food was delicious. Excellent value for money. It's ideally located for a walk through the forest afterward.

From the location to the food, it was simply fantastic! We ate in the middle of nature, the kids played on the playground, and we felt like we were on vacation for a few hours. The food, German cuisine, just like mom's, was simply delicious and everything was freshly prepared. The self-service is a bit complicated, especially with the food (carrying it in) and the immediate payment (for every drink).

We went to this restaurant for the first time with the whole family on Mother's Day after we heard a few times from friends that this restaurant was good. The food would be ok if there wasn't so much oil on it, on three plates out of four, although on the fourth we only ordered fries and nuggets for our little one. When I was first asked by a waitress if everything was OK and raised the problem with the oil, she said she had noticed it before. When I was paying at the end I got the same question again about whether everything was OK, I raised the problem with the oil and this time I was told by another waitress that that should be understandable on a day like that (Mother's Day). Overall, the food was okay, but without so much oil it would have been okay. On the other hand, there are also many other restaurants nearby that place greater emphasis on ensuring that customers enjoy their food.

Went to the Käsemühle for lunch today on Mother's Day... it's just a shame that you can't make a reservation on the terrace... of course you don't want to sit inside when the weather is nice. Found a table outside... The food is really first class!!! Couldn't have been better. Big extra praise to the girls in service. Nice beer garden. Unfortunately the playground for the children is in the blazing sun. It would have been nice if it had been placed under the trees. Not so great in midsummer. A stream for the children is really great. Toilets for both genders were dirty and lacked towels and soap. On Mother's Day we queued for 20 minutes. For the day, a normal time. We waited 50 minutes for the food, which is fine considering the number of guests. Unfortunately, one of the employees couldn't be heard through the megaphone. Drinks weren't that great. For me it was by far the worst apple juice spritzer and elderberry lemonade we have ever had. Unfortunately the food was lukewarm, even though we got it straight away. Yogurt dressing was nothing special. Spätzle burnt and dry. For the price I expect hot food. It's also a shame that ketchup is only available in bags. Given the number of guests, a large bottle for self-service would be really worthwhile. But the employees were all very friendly.

Very nice! Drinks and food are reasonably priced, although plentiful and very good. The disadvantages are the mosquitoes due to the proximity to the water and Possmann as a supplier of cider (largest, but imho the worst brand in Hesse).

Parking spaces available, competent restaurants inside and outside. The hand cheese with music was exactly how it had to be. Toilets had to be looked for in the cellar vault - speaks for an ancient, traditional location.

Something different. Nice big beer garden. Ordering system similar to quick service restaurants but it works well. The cheese spaetzle was very good. Unfortunately, the potatoes with the asparagus were cold.

The place itself is nice, but the food was just mediocre. The €30 steak was supposed to come medium, but was delivered almost raw. The vegetables that came with it were watery, the fried potatoes were oily, the green sauce was thin, the hand cheese was dry and barely pickled. At least there was some decent music on it :) So we won't be coming back... thanks anyway for the nice service.

The restaurant, with its huge beer garden, is also easily accessible by car. Those walking from Bieber will partly walk along a road where the speed limit is 30 km/h, but few drivers seem to care. Both the restaurant and the beer garden are very large. The beer garden is self-service. During our visit on March 30th, we sat inside. The staff was very friendly, and we didn't have to wait long for food and drinks. The kitchen is certainly well-prepared for high demand. The portions were large, the food was delicious, and special requests were accommodated without hesitation. The value for money is absolutely acceptable here! The restrooms are accessible via a staircase in the basement, and to eat in the restaurant, you have to climb three or four steps. Wheelchair users shouldn't have much difficulty navigating the entrance and exit, as I'm sure the team at "Zur Käsmühl" will be happy to help. The beer garden is wheelchair accessible. But when it comes purely to the food, unfortunately it's disappointing in several ways. The food comes to the table so quickly after ordering and is usually only lukewarm. Unless you order a dish in a cast iron pan, which gives off a lot of heat. The food has to be prepared in the kitchen so that it gets to the customer's table as quickly as possible. Everything is never freshly prepared. The fried potatoes are often burnt and the steak medium is usually too cooked and too firm. There are also a lot of cobwebs hanging in the interior.

You won't find beer garden classics like knuckles, roast pork, toilets with sauce, Obatzer. Prices: yes, everything will be more expensive. But in Munich at the Viktualienmarkt (Tourispot) the half light costs 4.70 and in the Käsmühl 5.30. Do you notice it yourself, right? You are still in Mülheim.

After several pleasant visits, there was a misunderstanding between the servants regarding table allocation, whereupon I was approached very unfriendly by one of the servants, even though I had made no mistake. When asked about her inappropriate behavior, the unfriendly lady only showed haughty arrogance instead of insight (I could complain, but she didn't care at all!). It's a shame, so far I've found the food to be okay and the opening times every day from midday onwards are very practical. However, since I am not willing to subject myself to the arrogant moodiness of the staff, I cannot make a recommendation. Employees of this type should not expect a good house.

Every year we go to goose dinners with 4 people. This year we chose the cheese mill and reserved the 4-course goose menu offered here long in advance. it was absolutely great value for money. - Reception was friendly and prepared - the service also came promptly to ask for drinks... our favorite was the homemade blackcurrant lemonade -shortly afterwards the other courses followed at short intervals - the service was always friendly, caring and attentive - everything went like clockwork - the food was all very tasty no matter which course - The homemade gingerbread ice cream with cinnamon plums was outstanding All in all, it was a successful evening for us and we will definitely try the alacarte in the beautiful garden location in the summer.

The food was ok, we had tarte flambée with vegetables. The vegetables were very clear. The tarte flambée was served sliced ​​and each piece had either a tiny slice of pepper or zucchini on it. Expensive failure in the cheese mill - disappointing and without class Our first visit to the cheese mill was a huge disappointment. We ordered the veal schnitzel with fried potatoes - at a price of 25 euros we were looking forward to quality. But what came was simply inedible: the fried potatoes were completely burnt, black and bitter. Since we were traveling with two impatient toddlers, all we could do was laboriously pick out the few edible potatoes instead of letting everything go back and waiting again. As we left, we politely pointed out the burnt food - but that too ended in disappointment. A curt “Yes, that’s right, pass it on” was all we got. No regrets, no apologies, not even a question about whether we enjoyed the food - as you would expect from a restaurant in this price range. This evening was an annoying experience and with the high prices you simply feel ignored and ripped off as a guest. Without question: We will not be coming back and cannot recommend the cheese mill either.

There are Hessian specialties as well as interesting own creations from the kitchen. As soon as you order, it is served - even for large groups. Real Hessian Äpelwoi pub. Service was a bit harsh, but attentive nonetheless. The separate coachman's room is very pleasant for small groups.

What can I say? I know the cheese mill differently, everything was great there, but this time, as soon as we walked in there was an unpleasant smell, a mixture of a poorly ventilated kitchen, an old inn where you're the first to open the door in the morning, definitely not tasty. A waitress who could be my daughter who just kissed us from the start. And finally the food, well. If stir-fries with fried potatoes only take 6-7 minutes, then I know where they come from, just warmed up... and that's exactly how it tasted and for the price I definitely expect something completely different. The only thing that was good was the beer.

Although you can have a good time here, in a nice atmosphere and with good service, we were all quite disappointed with the food. The duck was super tough and barely edible, the schnitzel was dripping with fat, the fried potato was partly burnt and the apple strudel, which was supposed to be crispy, was soft, like it was from the day before yesterday. The food is still heavy on our stomachs in the evening. Unfortunately, more emphasis is placed on quantity rather than class. There are better places to visit in the region.

Great food, value for money is totally right, nice staff, what more could you want. Go there often. There is pizza and kebab on every corner, but something hearty is rare.
