We booked a table there for the Christmas menu for the second year in a row and were as satisfied as expected. The organization was excellent, especially considering the large number of guests. The food and service were more than satisfactory. Third time's the charm, so we'll probably be enjoying the three-course menu again next Christmas.

The restaurant is very inviting. Whether for a cozy meal inside, a celebration in the coachman's room, or in summer on the terrace or in the beer garden – there's something for everyone. The service is always very friendly and efficient, and the food is consistently excellent. And the homemade lemonade is absolutely delicious.

Christmas goose menu. Advertised on the menu as crispy goose. Skin completely soft. Probably from the day before and briefly microwaved. Worst goose I have ever eaten.

We reserved a table for 16 people for our Christmas party! We come for dinner once a month throughout the year. That evening, there was also a larger group with their own sound system, also there for a Christmas party. The music was already very loud when we arrived at around 6:45 pm, but by 8:30 pm, conversation at our table was impossible because of their blasting sound system. Repeated attempts by the person in charge to address the group were simply ignored. The restaurant manager/owner was not present to do anything about it. Besides our group and us, there were about 25 other guests who experienced the same problem. We would have liked to stay longer and enjoy our meal, but under these conditions, it was simply impossible. We paid at 9 pm and left. We've been coming with our regular group once a month for about three years now and are very satisfied with the food, service, and staff, just like yesterday. The waitresses really tried their best to stop the noise, but without success!

We couldn't talk after 9:00 pm because the Christmas disco party started in the next room, which we hadn't known about when we made the reservation.

We held our Christmas party at the Käsmühle this year and can only say thank you for the super friendly service. The food, such as the Christmas menu with pumpkin seed soup, tender roast goose leg and gingerbread ice cream, as well as the venison goulash, is absolutely recommendable. And all at a fair price. We'll be back.

Overall, a lovely location, especially the outdoor seating area in summer. While the prices are a bit high, the food is tasty and there's plenty of choice. However, for visits during the winter months, I recommend revising the website's statement about "hot food served continuously until 9 pm" or at least adding a disclaimer. Unfortunately, it has happened repeatedly that we arrived well before 9 pm to find the kitchen already closed. We've learned our lesson and now call ahead (which shouldn't be necessary), and then on a Sunday evening at 8 pm, we were told that we could only get hot food for another half hour at the most, meaning the kitchen was already closed again at 8:30 pm. I read in a previous review that the owner doesn't have fixed closing times and that the restaurant closes early if it's not busy. That's right, there are no closing times listed on the website, but information about "hot food" is provided, and one should be able to rely on that, because nobody can know how busy the restaurant is unless they're there in person. Reliably offering hot food until 9 pm, as stated on the website, should be possible in any restaurant that wants to attract customers.

We were a group of four, including our dog, and we received a very warm welcome and excellent service. Everyone enjoyed the food; we'll definitely go back.

We were there for the first time this year, for our employer's Christmas party. Everything was very well-organized...plenty of space and various rooms. We were in the "horse stable" and it was very pleasant and cozy. The food was excellent and served in several courses. We will definitely visit this place again, especially in the summer when the large beer garden is open. I highly recommend it, provided the restaurant continues to offer such high-quality service. 👍

We (a group of five) wanted to visit the restaurant shortly after 10:00 PM (10:10 PM) for a drink. Although they were officially supposed to be open until 11:00 PM, we were immediately turned away – with the explanation that the cash register was already closed. A restaurant that refuses to serve any more guests almost an hour before its official closing time doesn't leave a good impression on us. That's definitely not what service and hospitality should look like. Very disappointing, as we used to go there quite often. Unfortunately, this is a reason not to visit the restaurant as frequently anymore.

We ordered comfort coffee. The mourners were disappointed with the sandwiches and cake. We ate them because everyone was hungry.

The Käsemühle offers a nice selection of varied vegetarian and vegan dishes. The atmosphere is inviting, and the outdoor seating is particularly pleasant. Parking is also very convenient – ​​there are plenty of spaces right next to the building. Overall, it's a place where you feel comfortable and would gladly return.

This time we were disappointed; the schnitzel was like something you'd get at a fast-food place, and the spaetzle were from a packet. It could be better. What a shame. Never again...

Good food, child-friendly good service

The ambiance is very nice. You can eat right in nature, which makes the stay very special. However, the food and drinks are really average. There are much better restaurants serving schnitzel in Offenbach.

As for the atmosphere, everything is somehow artificial, not in a positive spirit. The service is ok, the food should be decorated better because I have the impression that it is just thrown on a plate. The portions are ok, a solid size. I don't know what but there is no music that would brighten up the atmosphere and you would hear less other people's conversations and the clinking of cutlery, that music should not be loud but just pleasant to the ears.

The only thing that really makes it stand out here is the location. Unbeatable, especially with kids. Chicken nuggets with fries are okay, but the schnitzel and cheese spaetzle were low in salt (contrary to the prices) and soggy... Frozen tarte flambée. Self-service is okay, but nobody clears anything away. Neither guests nor staff, which of course makes it very unsightly. The tables just look like that when you arrive... kind of a shame, and they haven't changed for years.

I stopped by the Käsmühle with my wife for the first time in at least 25 years. We ordered two shandys. My wife ordered an onion schnitzel with fries, and I ordered liver with mashed potatoes. Believe it or not, the food arrived after 5 minutes, then the shandys arrived. Result: cold fries, schnitzel full of fat (made in a deep fryer). Liver was crispy and lukewarm. Mashed potatoes were cold. Freshly prepared food arrives after a few minutes. If you're not interested in cooking fresh, then put more effort into pretending. Everyone knows (even without kitchen experience) that two meals can't be ready in 5 minutes. Microwaved food takes longer. The Käsmühle used to be good. Now you can forget it.

Stopped in on September 27th after a hike with 7 people. Waitress Andrea was right there to order our drinks and food, both served quickly and friendly. The food and drinks were delicious. I highly recommend Käsmühl. You always get a seat, even without a reservation. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Ordering is quick, and the food is always fresh and delicious. You don't have to wait long. There are plenty of parking spaces, right in front of the restaurant. I went there as a child. It's always worth a visit. There's a nice playground for children.

My wife and I cycled from Hanau to eat there, as we were very surprised last time. Unfortunately, yesterday my schnitzel was only half as thick as my wife's. I pointed this out to the waitress, but I didn't hear back until I paid. We won't be going back to this restaurant.

The prices may be high for a beer garden, but the food is high quality and beautifully presented. The ambiance is great, despite the proximity to the city. It's a great place to treat yourself to a relaxing break. I've been there several times with friends and family. Everyone loved it. I'd love to come back. The best way to visit is by bike and combine your visit with a bike ride. There's also a playground for children.

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio was disappointing. The salad consisted of just plain lettuce with no flavor. For the price, I would have expected more variety and freshness.

We were here as a company for a team meeting. We received a very friendly welcome. The table was set up accordingly. The service was very prompt, with drinks brought to the table. There were also lids for drinks to protect against wasps, although unfortunately, one of us still got stung. An incredible selection of drinks and food! Everything seemed fresh and as expected. The waitress always politely asked if we needed anything else. A colleague mentioned that on a previous visit, he was once served warmed-up fried potatoes, but I couldn't confirm this on that day. It was also mentioned that the asparagus is apparently very good in season and that you should try to get a table early, as it's always fully booked during this time. I can't say much about the ambiance, as we sat outside. It's lovely there, in the open air. Located in the middle of a field. The prices are very reasonable, and I will gladly come back with my family, as I hadn't heard of this place before. A clear recommendation for traditional Hessian and home-style food.

The food and service were excellent. The atmosphere in the dining rooms and outside was excellent. However, the restrooms were a disaster. There was a stench everywhere, water on the floors, and there were no soap or towels. Even train station restrooms are in better condition.

We regularly eat at "zur Käsmühle" and are always thrilled. The service is friendly and attentive, the food is quick, and the menu is delicious. The selection is plentiful, and the prices are perfectly reasonable. It's a pleasure to eat and linger here, and not just in the summer.

We visited the "Käsmühle" beer garden on Saturday afternoon. The terrace and beer garden, located right next to the main building, aren't very inviting in my opinion, but we set up a larger table on the lawn in the shade under the trees right next to the playground, and it was perfect for us. We spent a lovely afternoon/evening there with the kids. I thought the "Handkäs" (€7.90) was quite good. The thin "Bratwurst with Fries" (€6.50) was also very decent.

A truly beautiful spot, especially down by the stream… it gave us a chance to escape the summer heat in the city! A huge disappointment, however, was the food: hand cheese with green sauce and fried potatoes. The green sauce was just a mess and not at all tasty.

The restaurant is quaint. The outdoor area was okay when we were there. You sit in a large tent, not really outside. There are several buildings where you can sit. The service was friendly, but constantly rushed, even though it was only half full. The prices for the food are exorbitant. A modest schnitzel, pounded paper-thin, with some bacon and a fried egg on top, cost almost €20. It also tasted slightly of fish. That was from the oil it was fried in. No idea what they did to it. Maybe €15, but definitely not worth €19.90. The side salad was okay, and the fries were average. We won't go there again; I expect more for my money.

A lovely restaurant located in a green setting on the outskirts of Offenbach. Ideal for a stopover during a walk or bike ride. There is ample parking for cars and bicycles. The old cheese mill has a bright and open, rustic feel. The waitresses are usually pleasant, but often too slow and not suitable for lunch. If you point out that you're in a hurry, they won't be sympathetic. Seating outside on the terrace is self-service. The food wasn't convincing, as it was quite bland and therefore lacked any flavor highlights. The green sauce contains sour cream, which is incredibly filling. Overall, it's worth coming here for a cake or a beer. In the evening, it's better to sit inside due to the nearby stream (which is a source of mosquitoes). I can't recommend the food here, nor would I recommend it for lunch.

At noon on a summer Saturday, with the outdoor area almost empty, we were emphatically and extremely rudely told that we had to sit at a table for two. The staff otherwise seemed stressed and distracted. The food was good and plentiful. The value for money was decent. Unfortunately, the restrooms weren't clean.

What I like are the veggie options, and the location is nice. I had the celery schnitzel with fried potatoes and salad. I think the salad was a pre-packaged salad, and the rest was unfortunately far too greasy. The fried potatoes would have been better cooked in an air fryer to make them really crispy. The dessert selection was also meager. A variety of cakes/tarts would have been great.

After many years, I returned to the Käsmühle with a friend. Despite the heat and the gentle breeze, we sat on the covered terrace and enjoyed our lunch. I had liver with delicious (!) mashed potatoes. The liver was tender and perfectly cooked, the apples were also excellent, and the gravy was excellent. My friend was happy with her green sauce and the fried potatoes, which she had ordered separately. We were both very satisfied with the value for money and plan to come back soon. I deducted one star for the ambience because there is no walk-in toilet for people with severe disabilities like me. Unfortunately, the 12 steps down to the cellar were a real challenge!

August 13, 2023 We went to the Käsmühle again today. We were greeted warmly. The service was prompt and attentive. The food was good. The schnitzel was genuinely pan-fried and not a ready-made product. See pictures. January 23 We received a warm, friendly welcome and were given a table even though we hadn't reserved. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was hot and tasty. The portions are decent. The price/performance ratio is good. We will definitely be back.

A nice garden restaurant in and of itself, but the playground is unfortunately in the blazing sun and the slide is hot, posing a risk of burns for children. The homemade lemonades are delicious, but unfortunately the restrooms are abysmal. They stink of urine even when you walk down the stairs. Cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired, truly disgusting, a shame.

Absolutely! I remember the Käsmühle from the 1950s. We went there for dinner with a group last week. Homely cooking, Hessian specialties, a good selection for every taste, including vegetarian options. Fast and friendly service. Spacious interior. It's worth a visit!

We explored the location on a bike ride. Due to the bad weather, the beer garden was only moderately busy. The location is very large with outdoor seating, a covered area, a restaurant, and several other buildings that can be booked for parties, etc. There's also a large lawn where you can sit comfortably under the trees, and a stream for the kids to play in. We sat on the veranda; there were two of us, and we were seated at a table for four. However, a server probably politely pointed out that we should sit at a table for two next time; as I said, the veranda was almost empty. We only had a drink; the food selection didn't impress us. In general, it was very loud, hectic, and hectic for the number of guests; it was definitely not cozy. Servers were rushing around every few seconds, sometimes not knowing what to do with the food. The food was also delivered very quickly; less than five minutes after ordering, the schnitzel was on the table. This gave the impression that everything here is geared towards mass consumption. Conclusion: It's okay as a refreshing stop on a bike tour, but there are better options for eating out.

We had lunch at the "Zur Käsmühle" restaurant today. The restaurant is beautifully situated in a green setting. Beautifully furnished rooms and a lovely outdoor area with a beer garden. The food was delicious. Excellent value for money. It's ideally located for a walk through the forest afterward.

From the location to the food, it was simply fantastic! We ate in the middle of nature, the kids played on the playground, and we felt like we were on vacation for a few hours. The food, German cuisine, just like mom's, was simply delicious and everything was freshly prepared. The self-service is a bit complicated, especially with the food (carrying it in) and the immediate payment (for every drink).
