Great tarte flambée, friendly service, very cozy

A lovely and cozy tavern. You can sit inside or outside in the courtyard. Vegetarian dishes are available, and if you have a problem with a dish, sending it back is no problem at all. The apple pie is especially recommended! The staff was very polite and friendly.

Delicious food in a great atmosphere at fair prices. I would give it more stars if possible. It's definitely on my list the next time I'm in Regensburg.

Our group of girls ate really well and had a good evening. Unfortunately, the service soured our experience. At the end of the meal, we ordered some drinks, including two whiskeys, and waited quite a while. The other drinks had already been brought to our table. Then we decided to ask at the bar. We were then told that both whiskeys were sold out. It would have been nice if the wait staff had informed us earlier about this; then we would have ordered something else, as everyone else had finished their drinks in the meantime. I wish there was better communication.

A bit dark, but as long as the food tastes good you don't have to "see" it

We spent an evening here together. We opted for the grilled bratwurst with sauerkraut. It was truly delicious. I can also highly recommend the house wine. The service was very friendly and attentive. You really can't complain about the value for money. We'd love to come back to try the tarte flambée.

It's a nice place to spend time, there's an interesting selection of drinks, and the apple crumble is good.

The food deserves six stars. We had the bratwurst with sauerkraut. It came with homemade bread. Even Grandma couldn't have made the sauerkraut better. The beer and mead selection is also impressive.

The best restaurant in town!!! You shouldn’t miss the Ribs, plus a Schwarzbier vom Fass. Then, the Flambiert desert made by yogurt is another good surprise. Really enjoyed the best taste, atmosphere and the friendly service.

Rustic, original, delicious and affordable!

If you want to dine like a nobleman, a knight in a castle, or as a guest in a high-quality inn, this is the place for you. A pleasant, relaxed atmosphere in a medieval style. Very impressive, with various handcrafted items on the walls. The food is delicious and excellent, especially known for its wide selection of different types of tarte flambée (even sweet ones). Every visit is an experience and a highlight, even for larger groups. As Mittelbayerische already mentioned in its dining tips, I highly recommend a visit.

Amazing friendly place with amazing people everywhere

I was there at 5 p.m., so the atmosphere was quiet. I ordered an exorcist's potion with the request to have it poured into a thermos, which I received. The young man behind the counter was really nice, and I felt very comfortable. The potion was also really good.

I waited here for almost fifteen minutes, and no one seemed to pay any attention to me. I wasn't seated, let alone greeted. Card payment isn't accepted here either, so I immediately turned around. Very hidden in a dark courtyard, not very busy during opening hours. I preferred to find somewhere else where people were welcome.

Unfortunately, I can't give it more stars. Beautifully decorated, with great attention to detail. The menus are beautifully designed, and the plates and cutlery perfectly match the ambiance. The food is also excellent. I highly recommend the sauerkraut with mead. If I'm ever in town again, I'll definitely come back!

We had a really super long Saturday night here. We tried a lot of different meads until we found “ours”. They are all very good, but we loved the 14.5%. The Flammkuchen are all, again, very good, as were the Bauernsäufzer. And a big Thank you to Inga for taking care of us. But, don’t forget to bring cash, no card payment.

Very good food, friendly service. The only downside is that card payments aren't accepted. The outdoor area could be made more attractive. Nevertheless, it's highly recommended if you want good food.

This place is super cool! Love the moody tavern vibe. The flammkuchen was delicious! I would recommend this place! It can take a little longer for food when it gets busy. There are also no translated me us but it's straight forward.

Very disappointing. Four out of 10 dishes came far too late, and one of them took almost 2 hours to arrive. Even for a few slices of bread, we had to wait over an hour after asking several times. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the restaurant at all!

Very nice bar/restaurant with good food. If you are a larger group you should definitely make a reservation. Food and drinks match the ambience perfectly. The service is young and uncomplicated.

A great place for good, medieval-style food. We liked the mead selection. We chose Mjölnir. All drinks come in clay cups, very nice.

Unfortunately it's no longer particularly worth seeing. First of all, the service was really attentive and friendly and can't do anything for this rating. I was often in this restaurant when I was a student, but after another visit it will probably be the last time, the reasons for this are: 1. Outside seating area was absolutely filthy. Cigarette butts everywhere, and nowhere was there any evidence that a rag was occasionally used here. The yard was filled with folded furniture, pallets, etc. and it felt like you were eating in a storage room. 2. Misanthropic sayings in the toilet. Of course, the restaurant operator can't help what drunk guests put on the doors, but if something like "hate all men" isn't removed/pasted over, you have to assume that it won't bother the operators any further. 3. Food was just mediocre. One of our dishes was extremely salty (that's a matter of taste, but oh well), and one was relatively bland. We also had to wait almost an hour for tarte flambée, even though there were only two other tables occupied besides us. Really a shame.

Rustic beer garden in the inner courtyard. Super good spare ribs and tarte flambée. We have to come back to lots of different types of beer and creations.

The tarte flambée and ribs were absolutely great. When I couldn't decide on a meal, the waitress gave me very good advice. The drinks came quickly and were also great. Although the staff had a small celebration in the courtyard at the same time, the service was friendly, courteous and fast. The ambience is totally cozy and fits the theme of the restaurant. I would be very happy to come back.

We were there for the first time last night and we were really impressed. Service, food and ambience are simply top. We had tarte flambée, ribs and spaetzle, everything was excellent and the BEER... mega. We'd love to come back ☺️

Als Fans des (leider ehemaligen) Anno 1475 in Landshut hat es uns sehr gefreut, wieder ein möglichst authentisches Mittelalter-Restaurant zu finden, mit Holzdecken, Kerzen, Fellen und toller Musik. Spezialität des Hauses sind Flammkuchen, die in vielen verschiedenen Varianten angeboten werden und die man dann auch noch flexibel variieren kann. Drei der vier (wir waren zwei Abende dort) waren top, einer zu blass. Als Entschuldigung gab es dafür ein Schnäpschen – so macht man das, wenn ein Kunde nicht ganz zufrieden ist! Top! Sehr sympathischer Laden mit tollem Ambiente und guten Flammkuchen. Wir wären Stammgäste ;-)

Absolutely nice inn where you can enjoy authentic medieval flair. Here you can get good beer, really great mead varieties and rustic tarte flambée for your stomach. Both the outdoor area in the courtyard and the interior of the restaurant are extremely comfortable and have a great ambience. The service is extremely nice and quick. 4/5 🌟. The restaurant serves good German pizza (Flammkuchen) which is in thin crust and we ordered the pork rib that was recommended by the waitress. Unfortunately the menu is not in English and waitress does not speak English too, you may need to turn on your Google and start the searching before coming to the shop.

It's worth it for the atmosphere in the place. Also some benches in the garden. Food ok. There isn't too much variety but what we got was good. Service a little slow.

We ordered a German pizza (Flammkuchen) with Black forest ham, onions, and mushrooms, which was cripy and tasty. We also ordered a salad with cheese (Salat Mit Schafskase) and finally the pork rib (Rippchen), which came with a salad (with mixed vegetables). The portion was larger than expected and the vegetables were very fresh. It was one of the few value-for-money places that we had meals during our visits to Munich and Regensburg. Both the waiter and waitress were very friendly. They only accepted cash payment. But there was an ATM a couple of minutes away. So it did not cause an issue to us.

The ambience takes you back to the Middle Ages. Very pleasant. The food is delicious. The many different beers are a must for every lover. Unfortunately, the people working weren't quite there when I visited. The cook stepped on my dog, the waitress forgot everything straight away, the cashier couldn't do the math, although in my favor, but noticeably weak when adding 2 products together. Unfortunately, it's easy to walk past it. I didn't notice it for 5 years. I will definitely still visit there more often.

Schlechtes Essen und schlechter Service. Schmuddeliger Gastraum und stinkende Toilette. Hatte Bratwurst mit Kraut. Das Kraut war eiskalt. Reklamiert- aufgewärmt- dann kam die Bratwurst kalt. Meine Frau hatte Flammkuchen. War nichts besonderes. Das alles als kochen oder als Restaurant zu bezeichnen ist stark übertrieben. Extrem schlechte Erfahrung. Ich hätte auf den ersten Eindruck “hören” sollen und umkehren sollen.

Very friendly lady in service. Unfortunately, there was so much going on that she even had to run to get around. The salads, the baked bread and the dessert (yoghurt dumplings) were ok. Unfortunately we didn't like the cheese spaetzle. The toilets are really borderline. Rather dark, lots of cobwebs hanging from the ceiling everywhere... everything dusty... open power box.

It was busy at the moment (large group for a celebration), the service was very busy; May occur. Still very nice service with time for a laugh. Tarte flambée was excellent and especially the one with cheese was very stomach filling. Unfortunately there were no dwarves or trolls that evening, so it was more of a peaceful evening without fights among the scum of Ankh-Morporg. But it was OK, blood spatters are difficult to polish out of armor. On the Google reporting system that objected to my review: "The Mended Drum" comes from the novel cycle "The Discworld" by Terry Pratchett. In this dive bar, the scum of the city "Ankh-Morpork" meet up and have nightly brawls (which is what scum does at night). It's culture and not violent fantasies... At least not from me.

There is no English menu but the lady is kind enough to explain in English about what can be offered. Order ribs and pizza. Ribs is but dry and spice and herbal smell is strong. The pizza is thin version like cracker, I like it but a bit salty.

Hello everyone. So first of all, the food and service (operation) were 1a. We had tarte flambée, salad, ribs and meet with hemp flavor. For dessert and to warm our hands, we enjoyed flaming yogurt dumplings with honey and walnuts. Everything to the point. Everything was super tasty and very nicely arranged and the ambience rounds everything off and it would be really fun to eat there. But guys... it was cold as hell. This no longer has anything to do with the Middle Ages when many guests sit at dinner wearing jackets. You no longer feel like eating. You're freezing...The food got cold relatively quickly. When we asked, it was suggested to us that the heating had probably been defective for a long time and that this was often complained about by guests. Do something people. It's really more than unpleasant and you're happy if you can pay and go. We wanted to go somewhere warm. The fun of eating was quickly over. Yes and something else. If you don't feel like cleaning the coffee machine (we were told that after we asked for coffee, it wasn't worth it to dirty the machine because it would take a lot of effort to clean the machine.) then please take coffee from the menu . Toilets: a bit old, but they serve their purpose. Unfortunately disinfectant is empty. In summary: Food top. Service (heating, coffee, etc.) can still be improved. Otherwise, I'd be happy to go again in the summer.

The place was packed when I went there on Saturday evening. They set me at a table with another group, but the waitress asked them before politely if they would be ok with it. Later on another group joined the table, therefore this is standard and it also creates a very nice atmosphere. There are not a lot of free seats. I got a good explanations about the different drinks and got the "Götterdrunk" and the spare ribs. All was very nice and a decent portion! And they were quite quick as well! I would go there again.

Sehr netter Ausklang des Tages. Gemütlich. Das Essen ist einfach aber gut. Prima Sauerkraut und interessant gewürztes selbstgebackenes Brot. Endlich mal Cider! Bekommt man leider nur selten. Hier gibt es eine schöne Auswahl.

Waren das zweimal da und es ist jedesmal wieder ein Erlebnis, das Essen ist lecker und der Met ist in seinen einzigartigen Variationen unglaublich, wir freuen uns aufs nächste Mal.

Das mittelalterliche Feeling wird gut rübergebracht. Die Einrichtung ist entsprechend passend. Gefallen hat mir die Wahl des Geschirr. Die Getränke werden im Ton-Humpen serviert. Das Essen auf Ton-Tellern. Die Auswahl an verschiedenen Bieren und Biermischungen hat mir besonders gut gefallen. Die Rippchen waren sehr gut! All das zu einem angemessenen Preis. Leider kann man in dem Lokal nicht mit Karte bezahlen.

Wenig Auswahl, Hauptsächlich kann man wählen zwischen Flammkuchen und Flammkuchen. Es gibt davon sehr sehr viele verschiedene Variationen. Bedienung war freundlich. Es war ziemlich voll, man kann sich kaum richtig bewegen. Mir ist der Laden zu rustikal.

Ersteinmal zu den drei mal fünf Sternen. Ich war das erste Mal da (vor 10 Jahren zählt nicht). Irgendwie war zwar wenig los, aber der Service war etwas gestresst. Ohne Reservierung bekamen wir aber trotzdem einen Platz! Bestellen, Getränke, Essen wurde schnell aufgenommen und gebracht. Der Riesling zu den Ripperl kann ich definitiv empfehlen. Dann war auch irgendwie der Stress weg, also auch fünf Sterne für den Service. Mit dem Rollator geht's, Rollstuhl wird wohl schwierig, aber machbar. Vielleicht sehen wir uns da ja mal.

Sehr nettes, urig eingerichtetes Mittelalterrestaurant. Die Einrichtung hätte ein klein wenig authentischer sein können. Der Service war wirklich super, das Essen und die Getränke wirklich lecker. Die Auswahl an Speisen völlig ausreichend und die Auswahl an Getränke wirklich spitze. Danke! Wirklich zu empfehlen!
