Zur Aubinger Einkehr in München

The Aubinger Einkehr once again demonstrated the importance of excellent service. The place was packed, but the two servers on the evening of November 28th managed the show! Always friendly, relaxed, and clearly eager to be good hosts. Hats off to them! Many restaurants in higher categories don't manage that so well. The food was perfectly good value for money.

Now 👍 TOP ***** Everything has been renovated, the tables are beautifully set, and the beer garden has completely new furniture. The staff is very friendly. The food is delicious, fresh, and served quickly. A lovely interior, also suitable for celebrations. Outside, there's a terrace with table service and a self-service beer garden. I can't comment on the food in the beer garden yet. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We were there for lunch. The food was okay, but the taste was a bit bland. The price seemed reasonable at first, but the portion sizes, at least for the vegetarian dishes, were ridiculous, which really puts a damper on the value for money. The service, however, was excellent.

I was there on Friday for the first time in what felt like an eternity. The service was fast, the food was excellent. I had a roast beef with onions, braised onions, and cheese spaetzle. I was asked how I wanted the meat done. That doesn't happen very often these days. My family and I were very satisfied. A quick note about the menu: If it ever gets revised, please also pay attention to the layout. Sometimes the prices aren't on the right side of the page, but somewhere below the menu items. Sometimes the prices aren't evenly spaced.

Beautiful, rustic beer garden with good food and drinks, and the staff was friendly. The turkey schnitzel was very large and really tasty. Good value for money. We'd happily go back. :)

Cheese spaetzle was my favorite. The veal heart needed to be fried. The Swabian plate and the xxxxx were rated highly.

Unfortunately, not anymore. The waitress in the beer garden didn't know what was actually being sold, like spare ribs, which were also on the menu. I've never experienced anything like that there before, regardless of the previous tenant.

We ate there a week ago. My mother and I just wanted to have a quick lunch with our dog and weren't expecting such wonderful service. Since we were traveling with our dog, we asked for a seat outside on the terrace. We didn't have a reservation, but we still got a great spot. The server, who was extremely dog-friendly, first brought our dog a drink, and then we were served. She was so friendly and competent; it was great. The rest of the team was great too. The roast pork tasted delicious and the portion was perfect. All in all, this visit was a great experience for us, and we will definitely be back.

Not recommended! It started with ordering, and it took half an hour for us to find out that the aspic was out, and then it felt like half an hour later that the new order was taken. After an eternity of waiting, even for drinks, the food was served little by little. The schnitzel and roast pork gravy were too salty, and the food, except for the schnitzel, was lukewarm. They refrained from complaining, otherwise it would have taken forever again.

We were five adults and two children and sat in the garden. We felt very comfortable. The server was super friendly and attentive. Everyone enjoyed the food. We look forward to our next visit.

An old-style Bavarian restaurant with a large dining room and side room. There were very few customers for lunch during the week. The waiter was friendly, the food came quickly and was hot. The menu is extensive, home-style, and the prices are still reasonable for Munich. The quality is average, and the portions are adequate.

One of the most beautiful beer gardens I know in Munich, cozy, with beautiful trees, and finally, good food again. Unfortunately, that hasn't always been the case in recent years. The new owners have significantly improved the quality. The spare ribs are excellent, and the portion size isn't as big as in some other beer gardens. And with that, a cold, well-tapped Augustiner beer. Definitely worth a visit. Thanks to the new team Josef

A lovely beer garden in the heart of Neuaubing. There are always a few seats available, and the classic beer garden fare is offered at fair prices.

It's a shame. Nice ambiance, but the food and drink service was pretty disorganized. The food quality was also just average. It could be better!

Update: I find many of the negative reviews here unjustified. Why don't you just tell them what you're missing? Just talk to the people there and ask for vinegar, oil, etc. Everyone has different tastes! What's too spicy for one person is too mild for another. But everyone can decide in advance what they like. This isn't a fancy place; you get value for your money here! A decent portion, as befits a Bavarian inn. I highly recommend it. ..................................... We really enjoyed it and enjoyed it. Beautiful restaurant with a large beer garden. The food, and especially the large portions, were excellent. The roast pork and cordon bleu were exceptionally good. Highly recommended. The service was courteous and friendly. All served with a cold Augustiner beer. The value for money is right. We used to enjoy going to the Aubinger Einkehr. Today was our first visit under the new owner, and unfortunately, probably our last. Lukewarm beer in extremely sloppy mugs, Obatzter sausages with huge chunks of cheese inside that I don't even want to know where they came from. Over-salted pretzels, everything rather poorly done and overpriced. The whole beer garden seems a bit neglected compared to before... What a shame!

The ambiance inside is truly rustic, just what you'd imagine a Bavarian restaurant to be. I've been there several times for dinner, and no matter what I ordered, it was always excellent (the Munich schnitzel and the homemade Kaiserschmarrn are highly recommended). The service is also top-notch, so there's nothing to complain about!

The ribs were only lukewarm and looked like they weren't freshly grilled. The potato salad was bland and tasteless. The shandy consisted of more soda than beer. It's a shame, because it's actually a cozy old beer garden.

The beer garden used to be really great – which makes it all the more sad to see what it's become. Everything looks unkempt and run-down, the food is poor, the staff is overwhelmed, and the flow is chaotic. Absolutely disappointing for the high prices. Aubinger Einkehr is a high recommendation! World-class food, excellent service, and a fantastic atmosphere. Today, eight of us spontaneously dropped by on the sun terrace and had a wonderful evening. Despite the terrace being full and a five-minute wait, the guys managed it superbly.

Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. First, the staff practically ignored you, then they whispered to each other. When we asked for drinks, we waited a relaxed 25 minutes, and after another 15 minutes, there was nothing in sight. So we skipped the food and canceled everything. Thanks, good luck, we'll NEVER be back.

The number one destination for unfriendly and untrained staff and endless wait times. Unfortunately, we can't rate the food, as we left the restaurant after waiting for over 30 minutes and without any drinks.

Not what it used to be. On a Saturday afternoon, there are only two employees in the beer garden.

This was our first time at the Aubinger Einkehr and we were very pleased. The inn is cozy and traditionally decorated, and you immediately feel at home. The large beer garden is particularly lovely – quietly located, with plenty of shade and a relaxed atmosphere. The food was excellent! The roast pork was tender and juicy, with a crispy crust and a very good gravy. The other dishes at our table were all fresh and delicious. The portions are generous and the value for money is absolutely perfect. The service was friendly, attentive, and quick – you can tell the heart and soul of the place. The restaurant is also well-suited for families, with plenty of space and a relaxed atmosphere. We had a very pleasant evening and will definitely be back soon. A definite recommendation for anyone who appreciates good food and Bavarian hospitality!

We were 3 adults and 2 children. Children should always be served first, but that wasn't the case. The adults got their drinks first, then the children. The same thing happened when the food was brought. After one adult got their share of the food, after a wait of at least 15 minutes the first child got their dumplings, then after another 15 minutes the second adult got their food, after another 15 minutes the second child got their food, then the first adult got their second share of the food. After an hour the third adult didn't get their food at all. We asked and the third part of the food was forgotten, just like the first adult's third part. In the meantime we had divided up our food. The crust wasn't cooked through and was complained about. A waiter said he had tried the child's crust himself and couldn't understand it. There was a heated argument when it came to paying. The waiters turned around with a comment and never looked at us again, even though we waited a few more minutes. The food was too greasy and too peppery. Something like this has never happened to me before and should never happen again

We had a class reunion there yesterday with 10 people. We received very friendly service and everyone enjoyed their food.

Based on the excellent review in the "SZ Kostprobe" magazine from June 26, 2025, I reserved a table for five people for Sunday lunch. When we arrived, no one knew about the reservation. Luckily, we managed to get a table on the terrace. According to the waiter, the Augustiner Edelstoff was just out of stock, which shouldn't happen in an Augustiner restaurant. The highly praised Zwiebelrostbraten (3 times) was completely cooked, far from medium, and we were only given a steak knife after asking for it. The taste was good, though. The Wiener Schnitzel and Zwiebelschnitzel were okay, hence the 2 stars. The staff was friendly.

In the beer garden, there's plenty of room for improvement when it comes to food. Rolled roasts are unseasoned and without a crust, and chicken is also unseasoned.

The spare ribs are OK. The portions vary; sometimes they're 10 euros, sometimes 15 euros, and sometimes 10 euros again. Unfortunately, there's no spare rib sauce, just ketchup. The pork knuckle is good. The crust is a bit too salty.

After the reopening, I was very happy to have a decent beer garden nearby again. After about 10 visits, 6 times in the beer garden, it was gradually getting a little better, although the sausage salad was below average in the heat. Unfortunately, this afternoon, it took quite a step back. The sausage quality was again very below average, unfortunately also sloppily/unevenly cut, but even worse: the marinade was completely "un-Bavarian" and was nothing more than watery household vinegar. That doesn't help the fact that the tomato piece was fresh and the lettuce leaf was no longer wilted. The warning shouted from a distance not to touch the large pretzels individually was also unnecessary. The pretzels were almost saltless again, but last time they were perfect. Although they were freshly baked again, I unfortunately couldn't find one that had a reasonable amount of salt. Quality note: Maybe stop by the Kraillinger Brewery to see how that can be done. We would love to visit you again sometime.

New staff, I always enjoy going to this cozy, traditional Bavarian beer garden. I actually like it here better in the summer than at Gustl in Freiham.

The food under the new owner is significantly worse than before. Considering the prices, the quality really should be higher. We've been there twice: once in the restaurant, once in the beer garden. It's very nice, and good for beer, except for the shandy, because they serve a lot of soda and not much beer.

A beautiful place that could be improved. After a second chance (once in the restaurant and once in the beer garden), I have to say that I'd like to see higher quality prices. The food and surroundings seem a bit lacking in quality (bread from the supermarket wrapped in a plastic bag, dirty trays, etc.). 'Room for improvement' sums it up quite well.

The beer is good. The food is beer garden standard. It's usually shady with lots of trees, so it's pleasant even in midsummer.

Nice beer garden, but the food has seriously declined. The pretzels were dry, the spritzers were 70% water, the roast beef was high in fat, and the Obatzder (a kind of cheese) was tasteless but with whole slices of cheese. It's a shame, there's still room for improvement.

We had dinner on the terrace on Saturday. We all enjoyed the food, the service was friendly, and we'll definitely be back. However, the standard menu doesn't have vegetarian options in mind, so there's definitely room for improvement.

There were five of us visiting for lunch. However, it was a holiday and there were perhaps more visitors than usual. The service was very, very nice, but unfortunately completely overwhelmed. The drinks didn't even arrive at the same time. Not to mention the food. Furthermore, at one meal the soup was served with the main course instead of the starter. The food itself was OK, but unfortunately not a culinary highlight and certainly not a reason to go back. The price is appropriately low. The service apologized several times and was super friendly. Hence at least the 2 stars. Such a shame, because it's actually a really lovely place.

We've always enjoyed this place, but weren't so happy with the last two owners. Now the place has reopened, and we're thrilled. The food is delicious, the prices are absolutely reasonable, and thanks to Ludwig and Sahli, the service is excellent. Please keep up the good work. And when the weather's nice, we'll also visit the beer garden; the menu there certainly sounds delicious.

Since the new tenant took over, the Aubinger Einkehr is once again highly recommended. Both the Cord en Bleu and the Munich Schnitzel with warm potato salad were incredibly delicious, and Salih, who served us in a friendly, competent, and prompt manner, was very helpful. He followed the motto "What we can do, we do. What we can't, we learn." The prices are perfectly reasonable, and I would describe the ambiance as traditional Bavarian with a modern flair. I really like it, though. So, if you've ever been to the Einkehr after the coronavirus pandemic, give it another chance! One of the best Bavarian restaurants in Neuaubing.

We've been regular customers at this restaurant for over 10 years. We're happy the business is reopening. The new owner is doing a great job. First and foremost, the service is top-notch, the food is of excellent quality. The portions are really generous, and the selection is fantastic! The beer garden is beautiful, full of mature trees, perfect for a spot in the shade in the summer. Great value for money! We enjoy coming back every day! Highly recommended!

Visiting the Aubinger Retreat was a relief, as the change in ownership was noticeable. Above all, there were a lot of guests sitting there and for a very long time. The Obatzder with freshly baked giant pretzels 👍 The schnitzel, the salad and also the dumplings in sauce (a little seasoned) were very tasty. We'd love to come back. Unfortunately, addition necessary after change of ownership: Visit on Sunday 11.05.25 Snack plate designed for several people is a bit unimaginative. The counter staff at the tap were very overwhelmed and poured very poorly. There were always long lines. Beer garden otherwise nice, but potential for improvement.

The Munich schnitzel is awesome, as are the salads and the steaks will have to go there again soon

After I have been visiting this beer garden and restaurant for a few years now. I've experienced many a host and, apart from small things that didn't concern the food, I've always been satisfied. On my last visit, I was sitting in the service area and was registered by the staff, but after half an hour they didn't even ask me whether I wanted a card or whether I already knew what I wanted to drink. It wasn't even full! Then I'll go to the competition. After being there for 10 minutes I had my drink and my food order had already been taken

Was in the beer garden today – really nice! As a starter I had an Obazda – super tasty, creamy and perfectly seasoned. Afterwards we had half a chicken – crispy on the outside, really juicy on the inside. It tasted excellent! The service was friendly and quick, the beer was well chilled – everything was great. Very nice beer garden under the trees. Half costs €4.30 (07-2023) and the selection of beer garden delicacies is satisfactory. In terms of price, you don't have to say anything about Munich 🙃 The Obatzder and the other little things were given to us as a gift. Self-service.

We waited for three quarters of an hour only to find out that most of the dishes were sold out. Likewise the non-alcoholic beer. The service was alone on Sunday evening with a larger company. We then left because everything we wanted was sold out.

Well in Aubing and in a workers' settlement the prices and what is on offer should be right... No wonder it's closed again.... was to be expected...

The food (main courses) was solidly good, but it was a bit unfortunate and strange that there were 4 meals and the ketchup was out (at 6:30 p.m. on a Tuesday). The soups for the starter were extremely oily, but they were taken back without comment. Unfortunately, the ambience wasn't really comfortable, as it was very uncomfortably cold in the dining room, which didn't make you feel comfortable. Service was okay, although we often had to ask for a new drink. Overall, unfortunately, not a great experience. Main courses but as I said solid to very good (Boeuf la Motte).

We were here again after a long time. We were disappointed when we were told when we ordered - this should actually have been communicated beforehand - that today (Friday) there would unfortunately be neither duck, which most of us actually wanted, nor pork knuckle. The alternative dishes we ordered (including Cordon Bleu) were very tasty. The price level is slightly higher overall. The ambience of the restaurant is very nice. What was annoying from our point of view was that the service was mainly busy preparing a buffet in the next room and we, as the only guests up to that point, found ourselves to be a nuisance.
