After experiencing racial discrimination at another restaurant in Marienplatz, my confidence plummeted and I was devastated. This was my second visit, full of trepidation, and then, "Eureka!" The staff were incredibly kind. They told us to sit at a small table for two, but then guided us to a large one. I was so grateful. ㅠㅠ The food was delicious, the beer was delicious, and the service was excellent. Many local Germans frequented this place, so it's definitely a great place to eat! I was able to heal my wounded heart and start my trip with joy. Thank you ✨️

Great service (everyone), very nice and sympathetic lady who detected my Czech accent, thus condemning me to my Czech 🤣, immediate seating without waiting and excellent food (very large portions that could not even be eaten) almost immediately. Plus Oktoberfest beer special and good dry wine. This is not the last time we are here👍

We went to try the traditional dishes during Octoberfest. It's a good place, considering most places were packed. This one was a good choice. It's in an alley, perhaps that's why it doesn't get as crowded. The food was delicious and the service was quick.

I'm thrilled. The food was delicious, and the portion was just right for me, unlike many other restaurants. The service was fast and friendly. We sat at the back of the bar. The noise level was pleasant there; not as loud as in other breweries. The prices are a bit higher for our standards, but probably normal for Munich.

Extremely touristy place, and the restaurant feels exactly like that. I personally found it overpriced - 27 € for a Wiener Schnitzel and 7 € for a bottle of water felt excessive to me. The food did not appeal to my taste; I experienced an artificial flavor in the schnitzel. For me, the service felt rigid and impersonal, and I did not enjoy using the facilities. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. Note : the restaurant is asking google to erase negative comments, that explains the average positive notation of this restaurant

This is a very touristy spot, and the restaurant reflects the neighborhood. The food isn’t good and it’s overpriced. The restrooms are pay-per-use, and the restaurant adds a 10% service charge automatically without asking.

Very friendly service, delicious food and very central location

The place is extremely touristy and really disappointed me. The prices seemed disproportionate to the quality. I found the atmosphere cold and impersonal, and the service left me with a mechanical feeling. My overall experience was very frustrating and far from my expectations. Note: service is not included and is automatically added. The restrooms are also chargeable for customers.

We spontaneously went for dinner with five people. We sat outside at the front on Weinstraße. The food was good, but the waiter spilled half a portion of fries from the currywurst onto our lap. When we asked for some more fries later, he just laughed. There was also no discount for the spilled fries. A real shame! A small gesture or accommodation would have been nice!

We came just for a drink and were warmly welcomed! A welcome that we don't find everywhere in the area... I recommend it 😊

I only had a pretzel and a drink. The service was really okay, the ambiance was okay, and, despite being only a few meters from the Frauenkirche, it was really quiet. The only thing that bothered me (and unfortunately, that's not uncommon in central Munich these days): I'm a paying guest. I'm having a drink. So I have to use the restrooms. And I think it's completely wrong to expect people to pay for that.

Discriminatory Behavior by Staff I had a deeply disappointing experience here today. Although several tables were clearly available, a waiter told us there were none. Just a minute later, a white couple who arrived after us were immediately seated. None of the tables were marked as reserved. The waiter who spoke to us had a look of contempt, and the difference in how we were treated was unmistakable. If you're not white, be prepared for potentially discriminatory behavior. This kind of treatment is completely unacceptable.

Actually quite good, but the 14€ currywurst (with fries) was really not good, it was a cold, thick hot sausage with little curry.

Five of us spontaneously arrived and were given a quiet spot in the courtyard. The drinks and food were excellent, and the prices are reasonable for Munich standards. The Augustiner pale ale on tap is unbeatable. A pleasant visit away from the hustle and bustle.

Had a great waiter, Singh, who helped us with the German way of self seating, ordering and even gave us samples of drinks for us (augustiner beer) and the kids (lemonade soda). It is in a tourist area but if you’re hungry and tired like we were, right off the plane, it was a worthwhile stop.

This is my second time here. 2023 and now. The food, the service, everything was top-notch. I can only recommend it.

Ordered 2 Wienerschnitzels and one was cold when it arrived. When this was pointed out they took it back and when it came back later it was reheated and burnt. Unfortunately this was handled sadly by the staff so I had to leave the place hungry.

The place is kind of touristic because of its central location in the middle of Marienplatz. The sausages with potatoes salat and sauerkraut tasted flavorful and hearty. Though it was kinda heavy but we shared one portion so it was okay. The Kaiserschmarren was really good. Some pieces at the bottom absorbed more butter so they were sugary and wet, but they were still very delicious. I liked the plum dipping sauce more than the apple because its sour flavor could balance the creamy pancake better to me. Seeing people walking by while enjoy your beer was also joyful. But I had to wait kinda long to get my food and beer.

A nice Augustiner restaurant between Marienplatz and the cathedral with quiet outdoor seating. The food prices are appropriately high. The staff does their job.

The roast pork was very tasty. The Kaiserschmarrn, on the other hand, was a real disappointment. It tasted like it came from the frozen section at Edeka. The service was good.

Friendly service, but the food was abysmal. 13 euros for a single, cold, hard pretzel and a piece of dry bread with a dip. The café around the corner was 10 times fresher and better for one euro. The cheese spaetzle wasn't even warm enough. My rating might be different for other dishes, but I really can't recommend these two.

Looks nice, but is actually amateurish. Service rarely or never looks at you. We ordered two liters of beer and two hamburgers, where the beer was almost half full of foam. And then one burger comes reasonably on time but we are told that we have to wait 10 minutes for the next burger. At the end of course we had to pay the full amount and no sorry or excuse or anything.

The food was good. The restaurant has a rather modern Bavarian feel. The service seemed a bit unfriendly. There was a toilet attendant sitting by the restrooms, which irritated me because, in my opinion, guests are entitled to free use of the restrooms; you could give them whatever you wanted. The prices were reasonable.

Great shop in the spirit of a classic pub. Best beer at a great price, especially for the location. A visit is worth it. There are additional seating options outside on the street. Pay at the counter and take your order straight away.

The location is really great. We sat outside and got a seat for 4 people without any problems. For dinner we had the three sausage variants with mashed potatoes, the children had 2 x currywurst with fries, and a Pinsa Rustic. It was just so nice. The staff were very friendly.

That doesn't happen often in Munich anymore: reasonable beer prices, nice staff, central location and a pleasant crowd. You can also stay longer than 2 hours 😉

Location great, staff super friendly and accommodating. Not a big bar (no drinking hall or brewery), therefore quieter and no mass processing. Food very tasty and large portions (2 thick slices of roast pork). And the Augustiner beer with it is really delicious anyway. Reservations recommended. We'll definitely come back!!!

Spontaneously went to “Zum Stiftl” on a Saturday evening without a reservation – and the restaurant was bursting at the seams! We were lucky and got a table for two. The furnishings: modern, but with classic tavern charm. The noise level was correspondingly high – a real pub feeling. The menu is manageable, but offers fair prices. Particularly recommended: the Cordon Bleu in pretzel breading, hearty and accompanied by an excellent potato salad. And about the beer? No words necessary – just good! Overall, a thoroughly successful evening with an authentic atmosphere and home-style cuisine.

Very friendly service staff. Despite an unusually long wait and the information that it was "freshly prepared", the food was unfortunately not warm. It had to be returned and reheated. A glass of wine and a shot of schnapps as compensation was nevertheless a thoughtful gesture from the staff member.

The Stiftl has a modern guest room in a traditional tavern style with light wood and historical pictures. The ambience is friendly and open, the light wood creates an inviting atmosphere. As a host at both the Wiesn and the Oidn' Wiesn, he knows his way around and knows that friendliness and speed are crucial for satisfied customers. Morning pints are absolutely possible with the Weißwurst for €3, the Brezn for €2 and a large selection of beers. A place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city center, a little hidden behind the Donisl, in a small alley, which is right on Marienplatz.

Worst service in a long time, normally doesn't even deserve one star. Let it sit for 20 minutes, but the next table was served. There was no coffee, the machine was broken. Nobody could make tea in the shed either... What's the problem with boiling water?

A small but cozy restaurant in a central location. Friendly service, reasonable food and good beer. The menu is manageable but offers something for every taste. Prices are fair and appropriate for the size of the portions. Good day, I had a chance to visit the venue for lunch on 30 December at around 1500-16.00. It was 4 of us. Despite the fact that it was very crowd all around the city and also in restaurant (it was a small place), we get a tabel for 4 persons and it was comfortable enough. The quality of ingredients for each meal (incl hamburger) is definitely worth to mention. We had: Bayerische Käsespatzle, Burger, Cordon Bleu and Zanderfielet. Kasespatzel, if only you are in general not "against" , it is recommended by me. It was creamy and with proper taste of cheese without any extraordinary tuning that is not needed. My friend had a Burger and was also very satisfied with quality of meet and sauce. I had a Cordon Bleu and it was crispy and tasty with side dish being "tomato salad" but here in "2.0" version, with cucumber (pickled and fresh), grated carrot, chivas and sauce with proper balance of vinegar and oil. Fish was fresh and sauce served within was tasty, still light despite cream inside and we think with a bit of saffron. We had local Riesling wine and I took Augustiner Helles, which is the local king and goes with all possible food (including sushi :)). As mentioned the venue is not a big one and obviously loud in consequances, but still you feel comfortable and do not need to seat on the "back" of the others. Toilet is very clean and there were nice service team taking care that all is under control. The only "minus" was very long time of service, so if you want to have quick lunch- it is not the place. For 5 dishes, wine and beer we paid for 4 persons all together around 150-160 EUR. What is also important to mention: the food itself is described as "Bavarian", however I would say it is a mix of Bavarian and Viennese (not even Austrian), what makes it very interesting and to be honest is nice contract to traditional "Bavarian" food you can have in few "Keller" around the rated "Stifftl". Definitely recommended due to ingredients quality and taste of dishes BUT you need a bit more time to have a meal from A to Z with no rush. More for lunch than dinner. Lukasz

Very very unfriendly man who places there. We didn't even get to eat because we were shooed away from a table that didn't have a "Reserved" sign on it. At the entrance there was no INFO "please wait, they will be seated. Very unfortunate.

Really great in the sun in winter. Quite frosty afterwards 😅 The beer is, of course, great. I'm not a pretzel eater but these are really great! The white sausages are also very tasty! The service is quick and courteous, so full points here too 😁

We were there last Friday with 7 people. Friendly and attentive waiter. Main courses were all brought to the table at the same time. The food tasted very good. I had the Brauhaus Schnitzel.

I just sat comfortably there (at Marienplatz) and drank delicious Augustiner beer. The service was very friendly and the beer was always nice and cold. There is another small beer garden in the inner courtyard. The restaurant is not particularly big but very cozy. The toilets could be bigger.

At a prime tourist location like this, often the service and food are sub par. Not here. Valeria served us with a friendly smile, a chat and without a notebook. The food was really good and we had a great time here. Inside tip: At the back they have a smaller cosy terrace too.

Top restaurant, great food, nice service. We were found in the neighboring shop (Hacke Pschorr Donisl) after several minutes Reception not served despite minimal utilization of 20%. And as a family we simply walked alongside us Augustitians. We were immediately assigned to a great table and served the perfect meal. There is another way 👍🏻 Thank you very much 🍻

Went with family, very loud, waited 45 minutes for food, service very inattentive (and it wasn't too busy). The food was rather expensive, the quality of the onion roast (€30) was mediocre, the potatoes weren't cooked through and we only shrugged our shoulders when we answered the question "I hope it tasted good". Tourist restaurant that doesn't value "coming back". Too bad.
