Zum schwarzen Keiler in Nienburg (Weser)

Urige mittelalterliche Gaststätte mit leckeren Speisen, süffigen Getränken und einer sehr netten Bedienung.

Ich finde das Konzept urig und gut. Der Großteil der Speisen ( Rotkohl / Sauce Kartoffeln) waren sehr gut. ! Wir haben zum Essen Wildschweinkeule in Biersauce ein großes Messer und einen Holzlöffel bekommen. Keine Ahnung wie ich eine Keule mit einem Löffel essen soll, vor allem aber reagiere ich auf stumpfes Holz im Mund und bat um eine Gabel. Es gibt aber nur eine Holzgabel. Meine Ungläubige Nachfrage ergab die Antwort, dass Gäste die mit Holz ein Problem haben sich ja Gabeln mitbringen können oder Keule mit Rotkohl und Sauce mit dem Fingern Essen?? Mein Hinweis dass die Keule totgebraten und trocken war, ergab die Info man steckt halt bei Fleisch nicht drin. Nach dem Gespräch sind wir dann gegangen, allerdings nicht bevor wir zum Geldautomaten gelaufen sind, weil Kartenzahlung wohl auch nicht zum Konzept passt. Fazit wie es mit als Gast geht, steht nach dem Konzept am zweiter Stelle.

Immer lecker das Essen, immer außergewöhnlich der Charme des Keilers. Super Service, rundum mit Herz geführt. Die Portionen machen auch jeden noch so großen Vielfraß ordentlich satt ❣️ Seit Jahren fest verankert bei uns, legen wir den Keiler jedem ans Herz.

Das Ambiente alleine lohnt sich schon. Dazu ein super netter, aufmerksamer Service mit sehr gutem Essen! Ein Erlebnis, wofür sich auch eine längere Anfahrt lohnt.

Wow. Tolle Kneipe. Wir sind 600 km extra hierher gefahren und es hat sich gelohnt. Essen Top. Getränke schmackhaft. Einrichtung und Ambiente einzigartig. Preise sind höheres Niveau aber wirklich vollkommen gerechtfertigt. Waren Do bis Sa dort und es war mega. Bedienung sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Danke für eure Gastfreundschaft.

Ich habe mir die Rippchen bestellt ohne große Erwartungen zu haben da ich vorher noch nie in so einem Restaurant gegessen hab. Ich kann ihnen bestätigen das es die besten sind die ich je essen durfte, das Fleisch war zart und schmelzte in meinem Mund, die Kartoffeln waren knusprig mit einer gewissen Weiche als würde ich in ein weiches luftiges Kissen fallen. Die Sauce umrannte alles was einen gewissen umami Geschmack verlieh. Der Salat gab dem allen eine frische und verlieh sehr viel Abwechslung unterstützt mit dem Sauerkraut. Es ist zwar etwas teuer doch ab und zu kann man sich was gönnen es war ein Erlebnis was ich nie in meinem Leben vergessen werde und ihnen allen empfehlen kann, ich würde sogar behaupten das es aufgebautes Trauma von mir heilte. 10/10 goated

Waren heute spontan dort. Ambiente: Hat mich sofort gepackt. Mittelalter-Stil, dazu passende Musik, passendes Besteck - das Gesamtpaket hat mich sofort fasziniert. Service: Sehr freundliche Bedienung, der ganze Service war rundum super. Essen: Wir haben echt gehofft das das Essen passend zum Rest ist und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen. Ich komme aufjedenfall wieder, auch gerne dann mal an einem Wochenende.

Das Essen war wirklich lecker. Gegessen wird nur mit dem nötigsten Besteck oder ganz ohne. Die Karte ist bunt gemischt. Die Gastgeber sind freundlich und um das Wohl der Gäste bemüht. So schnell wie die Getränke nachliefern wollen, konnten wir nicht trinken. Der Gastraum ist urig schön und macht mega Spaß. Insgesamt auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung!

Uriges Restaurant im Mittelalterstyle von der Dekoration über die Speisekarte bis zu den Tonkrügen und zum Besteck (Holzlöffel). Die Speisen (z.B. Wildgerichte) waren lecker und großzügig portioniert. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und erfahren. Top Empfehlung. Tischreservierung notwendig.

Sehr originell mit Getränken aus Krügen. Uriges und schmackhaftes Essen welchen man mit Holzbesteck zu sich nehmen muss - auch auf Nachfragen gibt’s kein anderes 🤷‍♂️

Das essen war sehr lecker und reichlich. ungewohnt war nur das es keine gabel gibt. Aber das geht sehr gut auch ohne. Das süßbier ist sehr süffig. 😋 der service war auch super freundlich. wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Ich war in diesem mittelalterlichen Restaurant essen und hatte ein wirklich besonderes Erlebnis. Das Ambiente ist liebevoll und authentisch gestaltet – man fühlt sich direkt in eine andere Zeit versetzt. Ich habe den sogenannten Pfefferack probiert, der nicht nur sehr lecker war, sondern auch stilecht mit einem Holzlöffel gegessen wurde. Dazu gab es Bier aus Krügen, was den typischen mittelalterlichen Charme perfekt abgerundet hat. Auch die Einrichtung ist sehr schön und passend zum Konzept gewählt. Insgesamt ein rundum gelungener Besuch – absolut empfehlenswert für alle, die etwas Außergewöhnliches erleben möchten!

Service war sehr aufmerksam und hat versucht zügig zu arbeiten. Ambiente super. Bin auch sehr begeistert das das alte Bauwerk genutzt wird. Das Essen war gut. Für den Preis leicht überteuert.

Sehr gern hätten wir dieses Restaurant auf der Durchreise besucht. Leider für uns als Hundebesitzer nicht möglich, da unser Vierbeiner nicht Willkommen ist. Sehr schade.

Eigentlich wollten meine Frau und ich mal hier schön essen gehen ! Aber bei einem Laden der wi 1933 ist haben wir uns das anders überlegt ! Nur weil einer ne andere Meinung hat auszuschließen ist faschistisch und zeigt den Charakter des Restaurants

Super leckeres Essen. Es handelt sich hierbei um eine Tavere im klassischen Sinne. Daher werden die Getränke auch in Tongefäßen serviert und als Besteck zum Essen gibt es einen Holzlöffel und ein Messer. Wichtig ist auch, dass man hier nur Barzahlen kann. Ein wenig schade finde ich es, dass man kaum die Möglichkeit hat spontan vorbei zu kommen, da ich immer nur spontan in Nienburg bin. Ich empfehle jedem vorher zu reservieren, da es sonst so kommen kann, dass man mit anderen an einen Tisch gesetzt wird.

Eine tolle Lokalität mit wunderbarer Atmosphäre, rustikalem Essen, netter und aufmerksamer Service und viel alter Deko. Das nächste Mal werden wir mit mehr Leuten aufschlagen und mit dem größten Krug anstoßen. Skøl!

5 Sterne, uneingeschränkt! Das beste Lokal in Nienburg. Essen: Fantastisch, denn Gewürze werden hier nicht nur als Deko verwendet. :) Es ist einfach ein Genuss! Auch für vegan lebende Menschen zu empfehlen, der Schmortopf ist eine 12/10. Service: Sehr aufmerksam, Getränke und Speisen werden schnell an den Platz gebracht - trotz der vielen Stufen. Ambiente: Spricht natürlich allein schon von außen für sich! Urig, angenehm beleuchtet, warm (nicht nur temperaturtechnisch). Die Hinweise an der Tür tragen darüber hinaus dazu bei, dass ich mich wirklich wohlfühlen kann. Pro-Tipp: Köpfe einziehen! ;) Pro-Tipp No. 2: Vorher anrufen, um zu reservieren, denn das Lokal ist (aus Gründen) gut besucht.

Waren zu viert ohne Reservierung hier (am besagten Schneesturmtag) und haben direkt einen Platz bekommen. Sowohl die Bedienung (sehr freundlich, oft nachgefragt, schnell) als auch der Koch sowie seine Gerichte die wir bestellt haben, waren allesamt Weltklasse. Sehr lecker und klassisch mittelalterlich, auch das Ambiente ist perfekt abgestimmt. Da hier sehr auf Umwelt und Nachhaltigkeit geachtet, wird kein Fisch angeboten und man kann sich das Essen nicht einpacken lassen (nur durch eigene Tupperdosen bsp.) Wir waren voll zufrieden und kommen gerne wieder! ☺️

Uriges Restaurant mit sehr netter Bedienung! Viele Eindrücke, man braucht Zeit zum Umschauen. Sehr detaillgetreu im mittelalterlichen Stil. Essen total lecker, kostet zwar, aber für Wild muss man eben etwas mehr zahlen...sonst stimmt Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis! Besuch lohnt sich auf jeden Fall!!!

Terrible service; our food was sent to the next table. When we inquired, we discovered our order hadn't even been placed. After waiting an hour, we left. They offered no compensation for our drinks, even though we had reserved the table in advance. A real shame!

The service and the atmosphere are great and quite unique. It was my first time there that evening, and I'm really not picky, but I have to say we were just passing through, though my boyfriend really wanted to go. I wasn't really hungry. There wasn't anything for my rather picky daughter, except for the red berry compote – I would have simply expected a "normal" children's dish like fries with schnitzel or something similar. My boyfriend was happy with his honey-glazed ribs and then ordered a cheese and hunter's bread on a whim, but we received the plain hunter's bread. It was practically dripping with grease, oversalted, and over-seasoned. I really do have a varied diet and love simple food, but this was definitely not for me. It's a real shame, as I otherwise found it very cozy. However, I'm willing to try it again.

A very rustic location. The hearty, delicious, homemade food was simply outstanding, so much so that we went back the next day. Anyone visiting Nienburg should definitely go there.

It was our first time at Keiler and we were really impressed. We went to the pirate party. Cool decorations, great music, great people...simply a wonderful evening.

Had good dark beer and game goulash

This is a friendly restaurant. They do things a little differently than usual, and we really liked that. Stop by and be surprised! On our tour along the Weser Cycle Path, this was by far the friendliest restaurant so far – by far!

The ambiance was very inviting and pleasant, making us feel at home right away. We didn't order any food. The drinks arrived quickly and reliably – and, above all, exactly as we ordered them. An all-around positive impression! The only minor disappointment was that card payments weren't accepted.

Good old-fashioned food, with the enthusiastic owner claiming they serve as many local products as possible. They also serve some excellent beers. A small beer garden and a very atmospheric restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

I was passing through. Unfortunately, they were closed, so I can't comment on the food or service. But the writing 😉 in the window convinced me. BRAVO!

Incredibly beautifully decorated restaurant with interesting drink sizes (1 liter, 2 liters, 6 liters) – great for thirsty people. ;) The food is hearty and delicious – the honey cream with caramelized nuts dessert is to die for. We'll be back!

The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered four different dishes, and everyone agreed that it wasn't tasty. Furthermore, the food wasn't fresh; you could tell it tasted stale. Everyone left with stomach aches afterward! I highly recommend not visiting the restaurant. Even after a day, the stomach aches are still there.

What can I say? I first went there 15 years ago, and it was great back then. Today was the first time I've been there since then, and it was just like it used to be. The food is out of this world. The service is so friendly and attentive that you feel very welcome, and the ambiance is a must for any medieval fan. Go there, fill your stomach, and leave a big tip.

This somewhat different restaurant is truly interesting to look at, and the food is delicious. It's also really inexpensive and the service is extremely pleasant. It's a shame we live so far away. I would gladly come back anytime.

After reading the reviews we went with great expectations. Everything is as others have written. Special atmosphere and a more than smooth service. There was only one waitress but she ran her legs off. We chose the spareribs. Fantastically prepared. Indeed, just adjust to eating with a knife and wooden spoon. Had a great evening.

The very special ambiance (medieval weapons, gargoyles, etc. as wall decorations), as well as rustic cutlery and beverage containers with capacities ranging from 0.2 to 6 liters (dwarf tankards) are truly unique features. The journey was long, but worth it.

A pleasant and cozy atmosphere, with a wide selection of dishes. The cheese sandwich and ribs were delicious, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. There was also excellent live music that evening. I would definitely come back for a cozy evening of food and drinks. Highly recommended.

A very nice medieval restaurant. There are no forks here; the commoners eat with their 🥄 and 🔪 and despise the way the nobility eats 😉. The game could have been cooked a bit more, and the plate could have been warmer, as it's unusual to eat/cut without a fork, and then the food cools down. Authentic (dark), delicious regional 🍺 (recommended), for those with cash to pay.

Rustic. Medieval-themed ambiance. No card payments (I can hear you tapping in the nightingale 😉) BUT: And that's what makes the place completely appealing: There are at least two signs on the front door saying FCK AFD and Nazis must stay out. 👍🏻

Absolutely recommended! The lovingly quirky medieval decor, with its many eye-catchers, is very entertaining. The solid wooden beams of the ceiling and the massive effect of the dark wooden gallery truly transported us back 500 years. The ribs, goulash, and roast mouflon from the weekly menu, served by the very friendly and attentive service, were a delight. Delicious beer. All in all, an experience.

Tasty beer and delicious food and an ambience that is unique in its character. Definitely worth a visit. An absolute must for all medieval freaks and role players if you are in the area. Of course it's worth it for everyone else too.

I drank a beer before dinner, the place drives me crazy, true pirate style, but... impossible to pay by credit card or even get a receipt. Bah...

The store is simply wonderful! The staff, especially the tattooed ladies with shaved hair, the great food (the spare ribs are just so delicious) and the whole atmosphere! Sometimes there is great live music there! I can definitely recommend the store! Finally no run-of-the-mill store! And unique in our area! 🫶🏽

This restaurant is worth writing my first review. If I 'just' made the long journey to Nienburg for a concert at the Keiler, I will do this for the Keiler in the future. I haven't eaten so well in years, and the drinks menu left nothing to be desired. All of this coupled with the cozy, authentic ambience and the friendly service made for a fantastic evening that I will remember for a long time and that I will try to experience again in the near future - see you soon, Schwarzer Keiler :)

A very nice medieval restaurant. The food was delicious (I've never had such good potatoes). It tasted good quality. The service was nice and attentive. PS: A little more DSA reference in the decoration would be cool. Unfortunately it was too loud to play DSA.

There is delicious, very hearty food, interesting and tasty mixed beer drinks, friendly service and good portion sizes. Accordingly, you have a fair price-performance ratio here. The furnishings are harmonious, if not always authentic, but that's really not a bad thing. Clear recommendation!

There is no cook working here in this house, just a magician. The food that comes to the table here is awesome. Plus delicious drinks, served by very nice girls at reasonable prices. It was just good. We'll be back.

Die Lokalität ist beeindruckend und Urig. Das Gebäude versprüht einen Mittelalterlichen Charm. Leider bin ich nicht ganz schlau aus dem Thema geworden, ob es Mittelalterlich oder Piraten sein soll. Beim Essen, kommt nicht jede auf seinen Geschmack. Ich hatte mir ein Irish Stew bestellt. Leider hatte ich den Eindruck, das dieses Gericht wohl eher selten bestellt wird. Die Kartoffeln in der Suppe waren eindeutig eingefroren. Daher vermute ich das diese Portion aus dem Tiefkühler kam. Geschmaklich entäuschent. Meine Begleiter hatten "Die legendären Honigrippchen". Diese müssen hervoragend gewesen sein. Aber bitte bei diesem Preis, hätte es schon ein bischen mehr sein können... Die Getränke (Biere und Ale) sind ausgezeichnet. Allerdings kann man bei diesen Preisen sicher keinen feucht fröhlichen Abend dort verbringen. Fazit: Ein Besuch ist es wert dort hin zu kommen, allerdings wird ein größeres Budget vorausgesetz, um Spaß zu haben.

What I really don’t like in Germany is you can pay very often only cash in restaurants and bars, also in this place. We live in 2024 and in almost all places around the world you can nowadays pay electronically but in so many places in Germany not. You could wonder is this a developed part of the world or Is it about black money I wonder…? Step up Germany and adapt when you don’t want to lose the global market!

We just came there by chance and were completely surprised by the atmosphere. Not only is the furnishings medieval, the food is also served in the old style, wooden plates, wooden spoons, clay jugs, etc. The restaurant is located on a side street in a house from 1506. So if you want to experience and dine something different than the usual, we recommend it.

If you love the Middle Ages, this is the place for you. It tastes very good here and if you want to go there, please plan carefully, make a reservation at least 3 weeks in advance, as they also have medieval events there. And people only eat there with wooden cutlery, i.e. wooden spoons from Holt and also forks. Only the knives are not made of wood. We go there very often because it simply tastes good and you can immerse yourself in another world.

This is, hands down, my favourite place in all of Germany. From the unique ambience, through the fun, friendly and attentive staff, all the way to the delicious food, there is simply nothing to complain about. Also they serve mead by a pint (and more, if you're feeling adventurous), their pretzels are to die for, I just fkn love this place.

The Black Boar in Nienburg is an absolute insider tip! The food was delicious and the beer was smooth and refreshing. The ambience is wonderfully authentic and inviting, which makes the stay particularly pleasant. The service was always friendly and on the ball - we never had to wait long and felt very well looked after. A big compliment to the entire team! We'd love to come back.

Once a year we meet here for a “romp”. Every year I look forward to the honey ribs and the first-class black beer like a snow king. I have nothing but absolute love for this store. I wish we had a shop like this in our corner. Preferably this one. See you next year

I had the roast venison from the leg. The meat was super tender and you can taste that the meat is of high quality and comes from a region with short distances. YOU HAVE TO GO THERE when you are in Nienburg!!!
