Delicious food, everything was great. I'm always happy to be there.

Unfortunately, it failed completely against my positive expectations. From the outside you think wow, but the treatment of the telephone caller or the not very sophisticated management system of the reservation to a table reserved for a wealthy group of happy people who want to spend a dignified evening full of joy there unfortunately leaves you feeling very sad pull. The first thing you do is reserve a table using the contact form, but you never get an answer. I can't tell at this point whether the carrier pigeon got lost on the way to the email inbox. But of course you don't let yourself be discouraged because of one evening. Then you try to reach someone using the telephone snail, in order to make another appointment you need several attempts to reach someone, but only to be told that you can only book using the contact forms, to which you unfortunately get no answer. It would be commendable to revise the administrative system so that one could easily get there without the A38 form. Rejecting the telephone snail due to overcrowding would also be a more pleasant way.

I would give 0 stars, but you have to give one to rate it. We wanted to eat and drink here with a group of 13 people. There was no response to the contact form we filled out, so we thought we'd just go there. On site they were overwhelmed with 13 guests and asked if we had used the contact form. Our “yes” was followed by the question “Did you get an answer?” We said no and that was the end of the issue for the lady at reception. She had no room except at tables on two different floors, so we looked for another location. When we tried to make a reservation again, this time by phone, we were told to use the contact form. You cannot reserve by telephone. Apparently you don't want to make any money here. It's better to spend your money somewhere else.

Bizarre on the outside, an adventure land on the inside. A great atmosphere, with an even better menu. The food is served with a knife and spoon. It's not just a meal, you get a story delivered. Perfectly designed. Everything, the drinks, the food and the service were absolutely perfect. My comment to the kitchen. It was a great evening. Please carry on, we need creatives like you.

Very rustic old half-timbered house in Nienburg's old town. Decorated in a medieval flair, you can get a wide variety of dishes from smoked pork to ribs to crocodile or even wild and much more. The staff is always friendly and reliable. The boar is always worth a trip...

We were there in June and absolutely loved it! Our visit here wasn't planned at all, so we only ate a little something, but we're glad we went there spontaneously! The service was second to none! The ambience was of course absolutely great and it was so great that the nice young lady from the service took a photo of us on the throne... :) A really great memory for us and we'll stop by again on our next vacation!

Five stars are not enough for both the ambience and the food. A great service that leaves nothing to be desired and all at normal prices. Keep it up, I'll be happy to come back.

We asked in advance by phone whether we could reserve a table outside because we had a small dog with us and according to the website, no dogs are allowed in the restaurant. A nice gentleman on the phone said that we should just come over but “we can manage it”. I was there now and the waitress said very directly that this wasn't possible, not even in the beer garden. Then please say directly on the phone that unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it. We were very happy.

Rarely eaten so deliciously. A very coherent concept that is fun and completely successful. We'd love to come back 😊

I love this restaurant. I've been there several times now and have tried almost everything on the menu. Just awesome. Ambience, food, waitress, everything was great. Unfortunately a bit more expensive, but I'm happy to pay that at this store. Just try everything, it's 1000% worth it (except the kangaroo).

A medieval pub with rustic furnishings. Swords, armor and various fantasy stuff. Just fun.

Absolutely beautiful medieval atmosphere. With delicious food at reasonable prices and employees who know how to have fun. I would definitely recommend making a reservation, especially on the weekend. The “Keiler” is an experience for tourists and established among the locals. Again any time.

Service good. Ordered monk and ox food today. With 2x 0.3 beer and 2x 0.2 white wine 77.00 euros!!!! Too expensive. Oxen was in microwave 2 sausages in the store, not yet 6 euros. Really, BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.

I rarely give 5 stars but in this case I'm happy to do so. The food was delicious and the ambience was a new experience. Quaintly rustic with lots of details that are not noticeable at first. If I'm in Nienburg again, I'll be happy to come back.

A visit to the Black Keiler is an absolute recommendation. The ambience, the service and also the food are particularly, particularly good.

A very great authentic restaurant! If you like medieval feeling, this is the right place for you. However, here you eat with wooden spoons. If you don't like that, you should bring something from home. No problem either! And here you can only pay in cash. By the way, the Irish lemonade is highly recommended 🫶😁 We will be back!

Great ambience, very good and appealing food. It was really a great experience to eat there, but to make the setting perfect it would also be nice to be addressed appropriately. For example: "Noble sir, what do you plan to eat?" A fork for eating meat was only available upon request, which would have been quite helpful. Good food and ambience just go together

Brilliant atmosphere, exactly my thing. I only drank the Schwarzer Keiler beer and ate the Jägerbrot, but both are recommended!

You might think that the shop doesn't have much to offer in terms of cuisine and is just relying on its theme/gimmick. This is not the case. You can have an excellent meal here. The waitresses are very nice and treat everyone in a friendly manner, whether in costume or normal clothing. So if you think the store is only for role-playing fans, you're missing out on a really great restaurant and good food.

Good Morning, For me, the black boar is the best there is in this niche and beyond. We have been there a few times now and are always happy that we don't have to miss this location. The menu is authentic and offers one or two exotic items. Always delicious, you should take the time and, ideally, reserve in advance. :) When it comes to drinks, when I'm the driver, I'm always tempted and persuaded by a potential replacement for the way back. There is enough choice from beer to cider/cider to soft drinks. The staff was always friendly and helpful, although it didn't seem easy given the circumstances. :D The ambience was always great: good music, you can also hear something unfamiliar from time to time. The furnishings are consistent with the theme and invite you to stay. Absolute recommendation!

I used to often go to this restaurant with friends and today I took my brother and his girlfriend with me for the first time in 10+ years and what can I say, a wonderful experience as always! Super kind and courteous service, always happy to have fun, very, very nice atmosphere and I will make an effort to bring more with me and keep coming back! Please keep it up, you're great!!

Whether it's the standard dishes, special dishes like crocodile, asparagus ragout, etc. or even the game dishes, so far we haven't found or tried anything that wasn't incredibly tasty. Plus the hat concerts and music evenings that now take place regularly again, it's always an experience to spend an evening with you.

Highly recommended for anyone who loves medieval-style cuisine. And to have a good experience you should take at least a starter and a main course. The employees are always in a good mood and they lift each other's spirits. And there is a lot of detail in the decoration.

Fabulous, fairytale-like, nostalgic, mythical and mystical. The classic black boar. The best restaurant with a medieval, fantastic atmosphere in the entire catchment area. Sensational food - Served with a knife and wooden spoon. Special beer and various Irish beers on tap. A cozy evening away from stress, media and reality. And we love the boar for making a clear statement at the door against any inhumane attitude.

Subterranean service, the boss is only out for a fight, insults, shouts, etc. at the regular customers or general guests...! Because of "normal service" - things that happen every day in the catering industry, there is a lot of stress and arguments. What you get there....unbelievable❗️ 🤣Even the huge, deep gap in the floor next to the kitchen/counter once stood open for a very long time (think dark PUB!🤦‍♂️) so you can go on and on... "In my opinion : The store used to be a lot better: 1. FRIENDLINESS, 2. consistent food quality and taste... So: the new staff, chef, service ❗️Especially with the "woman" at the boss's side (who always changes her extreme moods...gets cheeky... the level drops and fun is often lost.... ❗️ ❗️Many regular guests get petted❗️ We and others always left a lot of money with at least 3-4 people in groups/birthdays. Friends were shocked there too! That will also change now!! ❗️Will not recommend this store to anyone again (like so many times before), or enter it! Well, that's how you cheat your guests!... ❗️❗️""The store also doesn't have an electronic cash register""",❗️🤔 what is prescribed AND you also refuse to give out a “receipt” for example❗️ Which must also be the case by law! A really beautifully decorated medieval restaurant. Everywhere you can find small details that you only notice when you take a second look. The food was very spicy and for us it was just right. A completely new taste experience. The Keiler beer is really delicious and that alone makes it worth a visit. The service was very friendly and always attentive. Price/performance is definitely okay.

Very timely restaurant. Unfortunately over 2 floors and with a very steep staircase. Therefore not suitable for older and disabled people. The kitchen is great. The service was super friendly. However, also quite expensive. Still, top rating from me. We will definitely come back.

Incomprehensible. We wanted an extra plate to eat mushrooms and potatoes from one plate. Good FOOD and a nice ambience but the mood and manner of the boss is subterranean. screams, insults, "hey dude" doesn't work at all. Refuse to issue an entertainment receipt, even though this has been required by law since January 1, 2023. Finally, the police were called and reported to the tax office. And then the calculation was wrong! Billed more than ordered. When paying, pay close attention to what is being charged. Paperwork at a high level. It's a shame, good food, etc., but that's how you can get away with the regulars and guests!...

Absolut geniale Lokalität! Das Ambiente ist der Hammer, die Servicemitarbeiter:innen sind super freundlich und sympathisch und das Essen war unfassbar lecker! Grade im Bereich Wild bekommt das nicht jeder hin - mein Hirschbraten mit Kartoffeln und Rotkohl war jedoch der beste den ich bis dato gegessen habe, danke dafür! Mit Kollegen zum Weihnachtsessen dort gewesen, natürlich vorreserviert. Ambiente wirklich toll, Essen hervorrragend (wenn auch nicht alle aus der Gruppe Glück hatten mit ihrer Wahl). Aufgrund der Qualität natürlich etwas hochpreisiger, aber völlig okay. Für größere Gruppen, die gern zusammen sitzen möchten, aber wenig geeignet, auf Bitte näher zusammensitzen zu können wurde eher schroff und belehrend reagiert. Die Freundlichkeit des Personals schwankte, ist verbesserungsbedürftig. "Nett" ist auch, wenn die Gläser des "Absackers" ganz schnell abgeräumt werden mit dem Kommentar, sie würden so häufig gestohlen...

In dem Gasthaus zum Schwarzen Keiler zu Nienburg erlebte ich eine herzliche Empfangnis und Schmaus von feinster Qualität. Die rustikale Einrichtung und das höfliche Gesinde schufen eine Atmosphäre, die den Geist des Mittelalters wiederspiegelt. Die Speisen, von deftigem Fleisch bis zu süßen Delikatessen, erfreuten meinen Gaumen wie ein königliches Mahl. Die Tavernenmusik und die Kunst der Gaukler trugen zur Freude des Abends bei. Ein wahrlich würdiger Ort für jeden, der die Zeit der Ritter und Edeldamen wiedererleben möchte.

Uriges Restaurant; Essen sehr lecker, rustikal; Service aufmerksam und freundlich;

Ich hatte kaltes essen, die waren alle ganz freundlich, hatten sich entschuldigt und wollten uns einen ausgeben. Wir waren schon öfter da und ich war immer sehr zufrieden, nur letzten Samstag war mein Essen kalt. Die wollten mir das noch mal machen, aber das wollte ich nicht, weil ich nicht noch mal eine Stunde warten wollte, denn die anderen waren ja dann fertig mit essen und alleine wollte ich nicht Essen. Außerdem hätten die anderen dann auf mich warten müssen. Meine Tochter musste noch fast 1 Stunde nach Hause fahren. Wãre dann auch viel zu spät für sie geworden. Okay gut das kann passieren, darf aber nicht in einem so guten und relativ teuren Restaurant nicht vorkommen. Aber sie sind alle freundlich geblieben! Das kann ich trotzdem weiterempfehlen und gehe da auch wieder hin. Natürlich hatten wir mein Essen nicht bezahlen müssen.

War das erste mal dort. Habe mir die Honigrippchen gegönnt. Mega lecker und nur zu empfehlen. War dann noch auf Mittelalter steht ist hier genau richtig. Der Wikinger aus dem Hohen Norden sagt danke für Speis und Trank. Bleibt so wie ihr seid. Sollte ich nochmal vor Ort sein, werde ich wieder zu euch kommen.

Der Besuch in diesem außergewöhnlichen Gemäuer ist immer wieder ein Hochgenuss. Speisen, Getränke, Service und Flair sind perfekt aufeinander abgestimmt. Jeder Besuch ist für mich immer eine gern genutzte Entspannung zum Alltag. Macht weiter so.

Das Essen und der Service in diesem Restaurant ist schlichtweg hervorragend. Die Originalität des Lokals sucht seinesgleichen. Die Getränke und das Essen erinnert an längst verflossene Zeiten, aber in ausgezeichneter Qualität und mit Bezug zum Mittelalter.

Richtig tolles Restaurant. Sehr urig. Bin auf Empfehlung von Freunden hingegangen. War erst skeptisch. War aber ein absoluter Gewinn dort hinzugehen. Ein Erlebnis. Einrichtung rustikal mittelalterlich. Süße Terrasse im Hof. Sehr nette Bedienung. Sehr gute Essen. Mal was anderes. Gab keine Gabeln sondern Holzlöffel, was den mittelalterlichen Touch unterstrich. Eine absolute Empfehlung.
