Zum Schießhaus in Dresden

Great restaurant with down-to-earth offerings, good selection of beer and wine. The sweet things in life are not neglected either. The service is exceptional, fast, friendly, competent and always with an eye on the guest. You feel in good hands there and will be happy to come back. The Dresden Aborigines also seem to like it.

Today we spontaneously went for lunch with four adults and three children. The service was very nice, the food came quickly and the price-performance ratio is good...We like being guests at the Schießhaus.

The two of us were there for lunch and wanted German cuisine. It took about 20 minutes from the time we arrived until we ordered the drinks. We then ordered the food straight away. 1x dumplings, red cabbage and roulade and 1x Saxon sauerbraten. The food was great, but unfortunately that was it Service staff completely overwhelmed.

Delicious food, price quite high, service very attentive. We sat upstairs on the first floor, the children's play area was a bit annoying, but only the parents sitting on the ground can do that. During our previous visit we were downstairs in the restaurant, which is a lot more cozy and rustic. If you like good, down-to-earth cuisine, this is the right place for you.

We had the pleasure of visiting the Zum Schießhaus restaurant in Dresden and it was a wonderful experience! The place is very pleasant and offers a cozy atmosphere that is perfect for an autumn evening. The food was excellent - every dish was delicious and lovingly prepared. Particularly noteworthy is the friendly and attentive staff, who served us well as a group of ten people. We felt completely comfortable and well looked after. A visit to the Zum Schützenhaus is definitely recommended, especially when the weather is nice in autumn! My favorite "Steak au four"

Super delicious food and very friendly service. We hadn't reserved a table that evening, but they were still able to provide us with a comfortable spot. We felt very comfortable and would be happy to come back on our next stay in Dresden.

As others have said, this feels like a proper Saxony eatery rather than a venue catering for international tourists. Having said that as English visitors we were able to translate the menu and converse with the staff. The menu is huge and the beer is good. If you staying at the Holiday Inn in west Dresden its about a 10 minute walk.

Nice inn with good (home-style) food. The taste was very good, unfortunately the sauce was cold for us. But there were also a lot of guests there. The waiting time for food was quite short. Reachable in just over 5 minutes from Mitte train station (S-Bahn, tram) and in 5 minutes you can reach the Zwinger. There was enough parking available around lunchtime on Saturday.

Experience a piece of Dresden. In the shooting range you feel like you are in another time. The historical atmosphere, combined with modern service, makes the visit an experience. The food is Saxon, down-to-earth and very tasty. A must for every visitor to Dresden!

Just stopped by the shooting house late in the afternoon and got a nice spot. The staff was super nice. The food was plentiful and extremely tasty. We would be happy to come and eat there again next time.

This place is so good we ate there twice in 4 days! If you’re a fan of blood sausage or pudding you must order it here. We also tried the roulade and bratwurst. Great atmosphere with cozy old world vibes.

We are in Dresden for a long weekend. In the evening we were hungry and we came across the “Zum Schießhaus”. Very nice service (the nice colleague with the colorful hair) Food was excellent and plentiful. If you want to eat well in a nice, rustic atmosphere, you've come to the right place... Sensational again and again. Thank you for the delicious food and conversations....

A nice restaurant in the center of Dresden, easily accessible by public transport (parking is rather difficult here). There is also a beer garden here, but (unfortunately) you can only use it until 10 p.m. out of consideration for the residents. The food is delicious, the portions are a bit larger than usual, the small beer is 0.5 l, the large one is 1.5 l.

I really wanted to eat something German. That worked. Sauerbraten once and beef roulades the next day. We were with my aunt. She also ate something delicious. The atmosphere was great. Good care. I would also like to go there next time. I even got extra sauce.

Funny - you come alone around 8 p.m. 3 or 4 small tables available (note 1 to 2 person table). One of them with a reserved sign = 2 to 3 tables free = asked for space = answer: everything is occupied == ?? Nobody needs it, very rude. Then I went to the Italian restaurant around the corner, which in contrast to this location was a great experience!

Yes, we had dinner here at the weekend and it was great! The food was delicious, nice home-style cooking. The service was very nice and the furnishings fit the overall concept.

Let me start by saying - I love that place! I love the food, the atmosphere, and that it feels like an authentic German restaurant/gathering spot, and not a tourist trap. I’ve been there maybe 7-8 times, and as an American, I ALWAYS tip the waiters (15-20%), although I know from my German colleagues that in Germany a tip is appreciated but not required. With that said, I was very surprised when my server felt it is needed to state that the price doesn’t include a tip. That was the first time ever in Germany that I was told something like that. In fact - it happened the last 3 times I was there (served by the same waiter) that it happened… I feel that if I was local - he would never say that. That upsets me, and when you’re going to enjoy dinner, you don’t want to be upset. That caused me to skip going back now, and that saddened me, because of that server I won’t be back… I do want to add that the other times, other servers were very nice, attentive and service was great! I hope someone from management will see that and will get that delivered and explained to the servers… or maybe the wrong is on my end?!

Wonderful place for dinner! Food was great, we wanted to try some typical dishes and everything was perfect.

Very rustic inside, really rustic and traditional. It's also good in the beer garden. There are even cushions for the wooden benches. There was nothing wrong with the service. Fast ordering and service too. The food is not exactly cheap, and the drinks are also relatively expensive. This time we weren't entirely convinced by the taste. My ratatouille in particular was way too spicy for me, so much so that I couldn't even taste the dumplings (which were delicious eaten individually). But everyone probably feels differently. However, it wasn't the first visit and so far we've always found it delicious. So there will definitely be a next time!

This was our second time here and we are always thrilled. A bit hidden but you can experience wonderful Saxon cuisine. Dining possible in the courtyard. We'd love to come back here

Actually “only” discovered by chance, along and hidden from the streams of tourists. Nice little beer garden with rustic tables. Food was good, especially the Grützwurst. My own feeling. The cucumber salad was very good; my daughter didn't think it was that good. Schnitzel was very good, according to my son. So... great attentive and pleasant/friendly service. The food is good. Nice place to stay and enjoy good food. I still have to work on the sizes of the beers ;-)

Been here twice during my stay in Dresden with my friend for a dinner. No chance to sit outside without reservation. The inside space is nice but a bit hot in the summer. Typical german food, generous portions. They have this 1,5L beer ceramic jug, if you're feeling thirsty. Nice selection of fruit spirits! Most of the time, we had our punk-fashioned-very-friendly young waiter, spoke pretty good English, quick service. Apart from this guy, it was not as quick. It must be some german thing with the service, it happened to me many times before: The first order - immediately. Another beer - quite quickly. More beers - not so quickly. You want something else? - long waiting. Wanna pay? - wait for ages.....

I went there because it was near my hotel. I was very grateful for the polite customer service. Is the quantity normal after ordering? He came to tell me that they also have a small size. The menu is in English, and it feels like local cuisine. I was worried about the amount, so I opted for gulasch and dark beer. The soup was spicy and good for a tired stomach, but it wasn't particularly delicious, just average. It may be different if you order something else. I think this is a comfortable restaurant for tourists.

Eight of us (all over 50) had dinner here. The food was very good in quantity and quality. The beers, the Schützenwein and the Alte Apricot were excellent. And the staff was very friendly and always accommodating. The beer garden is also very nice - you have to be able to deal with the flight of wasps. We'd love to come back.

The price-performance ratio is no longer right here. Cheap beer at exorbitant prices and hardly any food under 20€. It's a shame, because otherwise it's a beautiful object.

Unfortunately I didn't see an entrance suitable for people with disabilities. If this is really the case, that there is no entrance for disabled people??? Then it is very bad for such people. Otherwise everything is fine, I'm very happy, I walk poorly and can at least walk steps

Large menu. Ate excellent grilled meat with various side dishes accompanied by beer. The service is fast. Helpful staff. The bill holds no surprises.

Absolutely phenomenal, from the food to the atmosphere to the service. This was my first trip to Germany, and I couldn't decide, so I let the waiter pick my meal, and Dustin picked something exceptional. Pork medallions with a horseradish and cheese crust served on potato roti. My husband got the goulash, and my niece had a giant slab of ribs. The biergarten was beautiful and peaceful. Also, this place was exceptionally food allergy friendly. I have severe nut allergies and they were very thorough and very considerate. Loved every minute here.

Yesterday, at 7:15 p.m., we were unfortunately completely ignored by the service staff in the beer garden (25 minutes), even though there were enough seats available Sometimes just saying good evening or getting the tickets is enough? Unfortunately nothing. We don't know anything else about the location. Otherwise, we always like to go there, great food, always nice, attentive staff. We will try our luck again soon.

Good - average - bad In total we were guests at the above-mentioned restaurant three times. The first time we were very excited about the ambience and the food on site, we realized that we had to wait a long time for the food and that it could definitely be warmer. On the second visit we were directed to the upper floor, even though we expressly mentioned when making the reservation that we would like to get a seat downstairs. We waited a long time and the food was again lukewarm. So we reserved a table for 4 people a third time and were again assigned a table in the upper area. First, instead of the non-alcoholic wheat we ordered, a wheat with alcohol arrived. After 1.5 hours there was still no sign of our food including starter, we asked. Apparently there was a technical defect. Our order would be entered into the system again (postponed), but they couldn't tell us how long it would take - certainly a while, since they had to serve 2 events at the same time. Nothing was offered to bridge the gap. Since it was finally 8:45 p.m., we decided to leave. Unfortunately very disappointing for such an inn. We are still waiting today for the offered call for redress. We won't go there anymore.
