Very friendly service, decent portions, and the best sauerbraten I've ever eaten!

It was alright, but the waiters didn't fit the atmosphere with their red Feldschlößchen jackets. It was very busy, but the waiters did their best.

We went there with our family for lunch on Christmas Day. From the friendly service to the delicious meal, everything was great. We'd love to come back.

Good, traditional German cuisine. Excellent value for money. Large portions. You'll definitely leave satisfied. The staff is nice, friendly, and always up for a bit of fun.

We were looking for good restaurants in Dresden and found the Schießhaus. A beautiful restaurant, both inside and out, with very delicious food. The price-performance ratio is very good. The staff is friendly, even if smiles are rare. But that's understandable in these times. As soon as we're back in Dresden, we'll definitely visit again, as the food is so delicious. ☺️

Wonderful. We were lucky enough to get a table spontaneously, even without a reservation. The two floors provided plenty of space. The ambiance is charming and decorated with many thoughtful details. The menu was seasonally inspired and offered a wide and delicious selection. Due to the high volume of guests, we did have to wait a bit, but it was absolutely worth it. The portions were generous and incredibly tasty, and the presentation was lovely. We had a fantastic evening and will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

The food was okay, but nothing special. We had Kassler (smoked pork loin) and bratwurst. The wait was relatively long (over 30 minutes).

I've rarely eaten such a good beef roulade. Great praise and thank you for that. The staff on the first floor seemed a bit stressed and somewhat condescending when explaining that a large beer here is over a liter.

A charming little inn right in the heart of Dresden. Which is already a highlight. Then there's the excellent cuisine; I had roast goose leg for dinner, and it was perfect. Served with homemade dumplings and red cabbage. To finish, I had a homemade egg custard. Anyone who enjoys good German food and is in Dresden simply must stop by. They also have a beer garden in the summer.

The food and service were excellent. The waitress (a young woman) was fantastic and very friendly. She was always welcoming and handled every unusual order with ease. She offered some recommendations and was also up for a laugh. I'd gladly return if I'm ever in the area again. Unfortunately, the ladies' restrooms are up one floor, and the high ceilings make it quite a climb.

The food was lukewarm, the dumplings had no flavor whatsoever – you'd think they were white bread. The vegetables weren't seasoned, and the venison roast was dry – an outrage at that price. That was the first and last time.

The Schießhaus is a very nice restaurant, and the food was truly excellent. Unfortunately, a large, rather lively group was seated next to us, so our conversation at the table was somewhat limited. Nevertheless, we can recommend the restaurant – especially during peak times, however, you should definitely make a reservation in advance, as it is often quite busy.

Delicious food, lovely decor, but the atmosphere is a bit hectic. Depending on where you sit, it can be more relaxed and rustic. Unfortunately, not all beers are available upstairs, as there aren't enough taps. However, the food is delivered by elevator; perhaps the same could be done with the beer? All things considered, it was a pleasant stay, and the staff is attentive and friendly!

We arrived at "Zum Schießhaus" around 8 p.m. – hungry, thirsty, and without a reservation – and were immediately greeted warmly and kindly. Although the restaurant was already quite full, they really went out of their way to find us a table. We felt welcome and well taken care of from the very beginning. The service was cheerful, attentive, and exceptionally pleasant – exactly the kind of relaxed hospitality that makes for a truly enjoyable evening. We had a fantastic selection of dishes: Saxon specialties, fine game dishes – and to finish, a dessert specialty that brought the evening to a perfect close. A sweet, lovingly prepared treat that we thoroughly enjoyed. All in all, a very successful visit to a cozy, welcoming restaurant. Highly recommended – we'll definitely be back!

To begin with, the food was excellent. Delicious and generous portions. However, the service left much to be desired. The waitress was unfriendly, had trouble taking our drink orders, and made her bad mood quite apparent. She also seemed annoyed with us, which she clearly indicated to us as guests, and that's simply unacceptable. Then there were problems with the bill, which we brought up, and she responded rudely and accusingly, even though the mistake was ultimately hers. We even left a tip, and there wasn't even a thank you. It's a shame, as this unfortunately marred the otherwise excellent meal. That's no way to treat guests.

A hidden gem in Dresden for good German cuisine. Seasonal specials as well as classics like head cheese are on the menu. They have a good allergen information menu, making it easy to find what you're looking for. We especially enjoyed the 1.5-liter beer steins. The atmosphere is excellent. We'll definitely be back when we're in Dresden again.

A bit off the beaten path, but still very central. A traditional restaurant nestled among new buildings. Great atmosphere, great service, great food. Good pub fare with regional dishes on the menu. Please reserve a table; we were lucky to get a spot for two on a Tuesday.

This is a restaurant with an extraordinary autumn atmosphere 🌟 very beautifully and thematically decorated ❤️ so we not only ate deliciously, but also had a great time! My family and I came as tourists, and if we come to Dresden again, we will definitely come again. Now about the food. The portions were very large and tasty, we could not eat everything, although we were very, very hungry. The children drank delicious lemonade, and the adults - delicious sweet white wine.

We popped into this restaurant without a reservation. The staff were kind enough to find us a table. In general, they were helpful and had a nice attitude. We ordered two soups and three schnitzels and asked if they could bring my kid’s food out with the soups. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, and he had to wait around 40 minutes for his meal. The soups were very thick, and the potato soup was overly salty. I asked them to change it, which they did—though I suspect they just diluted it with hot water, as it came back completely tasteless. I ordered a “winter version” of schnitzel, though the menu didn’t explain what that meant. It was described as schnitzel topped with chicken ragout, mushrooms, and served with fried potatoes. Unfortunately, the ragout didn’t pair well with the schnitzel—it made everything soggy and unpleasant. The Worcestershire sauce used in the coating was overpowering, and a large portion of the schnitzel was burnt. In some parts, there wasn’t even meat—just oily coating soaked in sauce. The fries were clearly frozen, not the delicious pan-fried potatoes with bacon that we were expecting. The vegetables on my kid’s plate appeared to be from a can. I won’t be returning, and the two stars are only for the staff. The food reminded me of the overly salty, greasy, and unbalanced flavors often found in Turkish-Italian fusion spots—places where an Italian kitchen is run by non-Italians, serving something that looks Italian but lacks the balance and subtlety. Like when you order a pizza and they’ve added kebab on top—completely overpowering and out of place. The schnitzels here gave off that same extreme, unbalanced, salty flavor

A cozy restaurant. I had roast venison with red cabbage. I forgot how dry game can be. A little more sauce wouldn't have hurt the dish. I'll be back again.

We were at the shooting range this weekend with a group of about 50 people. A holiday outing. The food and drinks were absolutely fantastic.

Where else can you find that in Dresden? In our search for a restaurant with space for 134 people, we found "Zum Schießhaus." After a taster meal last year, we opted for a 3-course menu (meat, fish, vegetarian) with a set starter (excellent tomato soup) and dessert (egg cake with cream). We were not disappointed; the quality of the food, the presentation, and especially the kitchen and service staff contributed to a successful evening. Unfortunately, we had to pay a drinks flat rate instead of billing by consumption. Many thanks to Ute Stöhr and her team, for which we congratulate them. A visit to this traditional restaurant is actually a must in Dresden.

It was really busy on a Thursday evening but the friendly staff found us a table after only a few minutes wait. The service was excellent, the atmosphere wonderful and the food was exceptional!

The food is rustic. Unfortunately, the beef roulade was very dry on the outside. Salt and pepper on the tables wouldn't go amiss. Otherwise, really delicious, with generous portions. I also have to commend the cheesecake selection and its incredibly delicious taste. We'll definitely be back. The staff could use a bit more smiles 😃

2025.10 Reservation is highly recommended for this restaurant. We arrived without a reservation before 6 pm and were told that no indoor tables would be available until after 8 pm. We were able to get a table outside in the backyard right away, but our order took about 40 minutes to arrive. We tried the pork knuckle and schnitzel; both were decent, though nothing spectacular. Note that the pork knuckle is large enough to share between two people.

The service was truly awful. Our order took ages to arrive, until a server came back to us and said our order was lost. After waiting what felt like an eternity, the table service was also poor. The food was delicious and the ambiance is traditionally beautiful. The service needs to be improved, especially at this price point.

Seating is available inside and outside in the green, covered beer garden. Highly recommended in nice weather. Restrooms are very clean. _Service_ The staff are very attentive and thorough in their work. Orders were taken quickly and the food was served promptly. _Meals_ The menu leaves nothing to be desired in terms of variety. The offerings are diverse, and the well-portioned and elegantly presented meals are commendably delicious. Special requests are accommodated. _Conclusion_ Highly recommended. Reservations are probably advisable depending on the day and time.

We were in a group of six. We wanted to spend a pleasant evening with lots of socializing. We've been there quite a few times, but it's been seven years. Unfortunately, a lot has changed for the worse in that time. The service was nice but unfortunately very, very slow; everyone waited a long time for their drinks. We all had a variety of dishes. The schnitzel was good (but it's been better and especially hotter). The baked chicken was unfortunately very tasteless. The worst was the venison roast. It arrived last and wasn't even lukewarm. After complaining, the same plate came back, and it was only hot on the outside. Classic behavior after heating in the microwave. Furthermore, the roast was as dry and hard as a piece of shoe sole. Unfortunately, very disappointing. As "compensation," they offered us a shot of schnapps, although we didn't want it. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend it.

Here in Dresden, we were looking for a traditional place to eat well and affordably. In the tavern, we were served by Michele, who recommended traditional meat dishes and an excellent beer. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed. It was a lovely discovery. Thanks Michele!

Loved this place, googled well in advance so had high expectations and they all came true. it really hit the traditional german vibe too. Also the staff were so friendly and attentive. I went for a schnitzel as that my favourite and i tell you that thing tasted like a dream ! Big portion so ended up giving up on the fries But i seen some plater comes by with delicious looking things so will definitely visit again when in town .

It was really delicious, the service was friendly, and I didn't feel any racism whatsoever. The salmon salad was really... the best.

Unfortunately, I don't understand the positive review. The restaurant has high prices and low quality. I wouldn't rule out the possibility that some of the food served is ready-made. With a schnitzel priced at €30, I'd expect either a veal schnitzel or a large, perfect pork schnitzel. Neither was the case. It tasted like it used to in the cafeteria. It was good...but absolutely not worth the price. Normally, you get top-notch food for the money you have to spend here. Here, however...you get simple food at exorbitant prices. The value for money is almost only 1 star. That's really cheeky.

Hirschkeule und Roulade gab es - beides war seeeehr lecker. Wir haben den Lieferservice genutzt, was problemlos funktionierte. Essen war eingeschweißt und schön warm. Sehr zu empfehlen!!
