I visited the Samowar restaurant and was absolutely thrilled! 🍲 The borscht was incredibly aromatic and perfectly seasoned—exactly as you'd expect. 🥟 The lamb pelmeni were also a real highlight: tender, juicy, and full of flavor. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable visit—super delicious, fresh, and highly recommended! 👌✨

Now that we've become more or less regular customers, I have to leave a review. The service is personal, warm, welcoming, and always with a wink. The food offers great classics and a selection that allows you to sample Russia's most famous dishes. My husband and I had the wonderful opportunity to celebrate our wedding here. Not only did the wonderful hosts accommodate us with the menu, scheduling, and price – they put a lot of effort into the atmosphere, decor, and traditions. We can only say "thank you!" again and again. To quote a good friend who was there: "The wedding meal was like nothing I've had before!" I especially love "Babushka's Pickles" and the herring, but I can only recommend trying the menu. You can tell that many of the dishes are filled with love and memories that are worth sharing. We enjoy coming back here again and again.

We ate here with our family for our 25th wedding anniversary in March. It was our first time. It was recommended to us because my husband is Russian and we wanted to surprise him. And it worked out. He thought it tasted just like his mother's Russian home. Of course, we all thought it was delicious and incredibly cozy. The staff is super friendly. We'd love to come back.

In the footsteps of ... Recently I started reading Russian poets because of my love for my homeland. In the footsteps of Brodsky, who was in the restaurant *Russian Samovar*, I spontaneously decided to visit the restaurant *Samovar" in the city of Halle. And now I want to share my impressions and thoughts with you. Entering the restaurant, I was impressed by the good and warm atmosphere: my favorite birch trees, paintings from Russia, balalaika and of course my favorite stove. Since I was alone, there was a place for me right away. The chef of the restaurant, in a good and cheerful mood, served me. Since I really love pelmeni and borscht, I decided to order and try it. I did not wait long for the food. While the food was being prepared, I met the chef's wife in the restaurant. The chef's wife disposed me to Russian cuisine and culture. We also started talking about the poet Brodsky and why I decided to visit the "samovar". The conversation about poetry and cuisine and culture went great. When the chef brought the pelmeni and borscht, with a smile on his face, I was delighted. At first I started eating with the borscht. In the borscht I felt the subtlety of the broth and beets. And the meat was simply juicy and went well with the borscht. After taking a 5-minute break from eating, I started on the next portion of pelmeni. Oh, my favorite pelmeni - it was something unearthly. When you bite into the pelmeni, the dough is soft and the meat inside is juicy, soft. Many thanks to the chef and his wife for their great efforts and services. I was delighted. Who knows where the next song of Russian culture will take me ...

We had an unforgettable evening and will definitely be back soon. A small, cozy restaurant with highly motivated staff. Everything was very close and personal, and it was definitely a pleasure. Always great! Service, ambience and quality of the food - outstanding! An authentic, family-run restaurant with attention to detail. The food is always freshly cooked in the small kitchen in the restaurant and the selection of drinks is always surprising, even outside the menu! The pelmenis are always great - my favorites are the "Kazakh" ones. I don't even want to start with the Riga Gold, the Chebureki's, the blinis and the ice cream variations. Great vodka selection and lots of unexpected surprises like the Armenian brandies. What can I say - YOU HAVE TO GO THERE!!

We are spending the weekend in Halle for a concert and came across this restaurant. What I can say: TOP! A really great restaurant with incredibly good Russian cuisine! You notice that everything you are served is handmade and prepared according to traditional recipes. The Pelmeni are a poem! It's also quite big, so you have to be really hungry for the XL portion. The selection of vodka is really good compared to other restaurants (I'm referring to Cologne because that's where we come from)! The fact that a “large” bottle (500 g or 0.5 liters) costs 40 to 45 euros is absolutely normal in the catering industry and there is no reason to say that this is too expensive. We ate and drank a lot, we thought it was really nice with you. Since we wanted to sit outside, we were able to do so immediately upon request! You don't have that everywhere, most of the time you just get “No, the beer garden is closed”. Not at all here, the young man who served us, set up the table for us and was not above entertaining us outside, even though we were the only ones sitting there. Great hospitality, there is NOTHING to complain about here. We are going back to Cologne with a great impression of you! Thank you very much and keep it up!

Top Top Top!!! It was a pleasure to stop by the great restaurant again and treat yourself to delicious food and beer (Balticum 6)! The ambience is great, the service is very attentive and the family management means everything works together great! No matter what you order, it's worth the money, but if you don't like coriander, you should definitely mention it before ordering, because some dishes contain it ;) We'll come back and make reservations!

The restaurant is run with a lot of love and you can taste it. Super tasty, typical Soviet food. Very very good quality. The menu offers a wide variety, including interesting, unusual drinks. The ambience in the restaurant invites you to linger for a while after your meal! We'd love to come back!

I was in your restaurant and was shocked by the menu... how can there be Russian borscht when it is a Ukrainian dish... My rating corresponds to your restaurant. Thank you for your reply. But it is not truthful and not correct. Because of your ignorance of the culture. That is why I gave you such an assessment. I don't need to give examples on Wikipedia etc. In Russia, cabbage is cooked with water and it is called shchi dish and not like borsch. Good luck

That was a great new experience. There were 5 of us there, we ate herring salad, chicken salad, borscht, solyanka, pelmeni and it was all absolutely delicious. The price was right too. Wasn't too expensive. We had this Lager 7 beer and the vodka was a blast. We'll definitely go there again. One star deducted from the ambience for the quite dominant smell of incense sticks and kitchen. But ultimately not that bad.

Another wonderful evening in the rustic Samovar restaurant. The meals were excellent and freshly prepared. I would particularly like to recommend the Bortschtsch and the Utro Rasputina - to die for! Great wine and excellent vodka were recommended to us. The prices are more than fair considering the quality. Definitely go there. We'll definitely do it!

Pelmeni war einfach nur lecker. Original mit saurer Sahne und Vegetarisch mit Käsesoße, davor gab grüne Oliven. Alles aufgegessen mit russische Bier und Wodka. Besitzer war sehr freundlich und wir haben uns wohlgefühlt. Tisch war etwas zu dunkel und wir mussten etwas lange warten. Dafür wissen wir, dass alle Speisen frisch gekocht wird. Danke 🙃

Wir waren am 02.11.2018 mit vier Personen in genannter Gaststätte. Auf fast allen Tischen standen Reservierungszettel. Gegen 20.00 Uhr war tatsächlich alles besetzt. Der Empfang und die Bedienung waren sehr persönlich und freundlich. Ambiente alles russisch, wie man sich eine russische Gaststätte vorstellt. Außergewöhnliche Speisekarte, alles russische Gerichte, frisch zubereitet und sehr schmackhaft. Keine normalen deutschen Speisen. Alles original russisch, auch die Getränke. Ein Besuch ist in jedem Fall sehr empfehlenswert. Reservierung vorab sicher notwendig.

Wir waren dort an einem Freitag Abend zu Besuch und waren begeistert! Alles war perfekt, angefangen vom Gastgeber, dem Personal, dem leckeren selbstgemachten Essen und den Preisen. Wir können das Restaurant wärmstens empfehlen!!!

Angebotene Biere interessant. Vorspeise: Borsch ausgewählt, es gab nur Soljaka. Also Soljanka gegessen (mit Oliven????). Eingelegte Blüten als 2. Vorspeise bestellt, war nur noch 1X da, haben wir uns zu viert geteilt. Stör sollte das Hauptgericht sein, er war nur 2X da, haben die Frauen bekommen (auf Salat...naja...). Dann gab es nur noch Teigtaschen, Blinis...den ganzen Teigkram wollte niemand, die Männer mussten das dann bestellen, war nicht lecker. Auf den Nachtisch haben wir verzichtet und sind gegangen.

Das Restaurant ist gemütlich, das Essen sehr schmackhaft und die Preise sind angemessen. Ich hatte endlich auch mal die Gelegenheit, die Baltika-Biere systematisch zu probieren. Es war ein sehr schöner Abend.

Ich kann euch, wenn ihr auf gemütliche Restaurants mit authentischer Küche steht, absolut den Samowar empfehlen. Ich mag das Lokal super gern in den kalten Jahreszeiten. Das essen schmeckt immer hervorragend, es gibt tolle Bier und/ oder Wodka Empfehlungen vom Chef und die Vorspeisen passen auch super als Snack, wenn man eigentlich nur auf ein paar Baltika vorbei schauen wollte.

Wer im Samowar einkehrt, der möchte traditionelle russische Küche und die dazu gehörigen geistigen Getränke. Die kleine übersichtliche Karte bietet unterschiedliche, selbst hergestellte Pelmeni in verschiedenen Variationen. Natürlich auch Suppen allen voran der Bortsch. Kennt man aus den herkömmlichen Lokalitäten offene- und Flaschenweine, erhält man hier, wie soll es anders sein, offene und Flaschen Wodka. Hier kann man einkehren um sein Abenteuer und seinen Spaß zu haben. An manchen Abenden hat man vielleicht sogar Glück und wird mit russischer Folklore wunderbar unterhalten. Hier erhält man eine Vorstellung was Erlebnisgastronomie bedeuten kann.

Ein uriges Lokal, dass einen im recht gelungenen russischen Ambiente empfängt. Die Speisenauswahl ist völlig ausreichend und das Essen schmeckt auch ganz wunderbar. Die Getränkeauswahl ist auch üppig, insbesondere russische Biere und Limonaden sind hier zu bekommen was ja nicht alltäglich ist und eben genau hier hinein gehört. Der Knaller auf der Karte für mich war, hier gibt es neben offenem - und Flaschenwein auch offene und Flaschenwodka. Das hat ja auch mal was! Also wer sich den Restaurantwagon in der Transsibirischen Eisenbahn ersparen will, eine absolute Alternative ist dieses Lokal. Jedoch empfihl es sich unbeding vorher zu reservieren. Für die Transsib muss man ja auch vorher eine Fahrkarte kaufen :-)

Sehr angenehmes Ambiente aber dafür etwas beengt, regelmäßig Spezialitäten Abend mit Grillgerichten (Schaschlyk, Fisch) Große Auswahl von russischen (Flaschen-)Bier, machne Sorten auch mal nicht vorrätig. Sehr gutes Wodkasortiment, ruhig mal den Wirt fragen und sich beraten lassen. Schön buntgemischtes Publikum, meist viel Stimmung. Insbesondere das Essen z.T. relativ hochpreisig

Gemütlich...urig...besonders. Speisen lecker,Getränke ebenfalls... Etwas längere Wartezeiten sind schon mal möglich aber belanglos.Aber unbedingt vorher reservieren,gerade im Herbst/Winter ist es dort eigentlich immer voll.
