Zum kühlen Grunde - Landgasthof in Warendorf

We had a delicious meal yesterday. We had reserved a table in advance (which is completely normal since the coronavirus pandemic). The ambiance is unbeatable; we had a lovely seat in the garden. The service was friendly, attentive, and quick. The food was of very good quality and incredibly delicious. The portions were just right and to our liking. If we're ever on vacation here again, we'll be happy to visit the restaurant again.

Excellent cuisine in a country-style atmosphere. The park-like outdoor area is particularly recommended.

If you politely ask if there's room for a group, you might expect to get a friendly, factual answer... In fact, we were rudely insulted and more or less thrown out of the beer garden. I've never been treated so unfriendly... Absolutely damaging business behavior - keep it up... 😖

No chance without a reservation!!! We were a group of 10 and just wanted a drink. Nevertheless, the waitress rudely turned us away. "It's not possible without a reservation," "...I'm sick." Other guests said they couldn't get coffee, only cold drinks. The lovely beer garden was barely occupied. Luckily, we were allowed to use the restrooms.

We visited the beer garden today. Despite the almost 30-degree temperature outside, it was pleasant under the trees...plus the great atmosphere. The food, and especially the salad, were really, really good. The service was attentive and friendly/witty; everything was just right here. We'll be back.

We dined with our friends at the Gasthaus Zum kühlen Grunde on January 4, 2025. The food was once again excellent and we all enjoyed it very much. The service was very good and friendly. On behalf of all of us, a heartfelt thank you for the wonderful time in the beautiful fireplace room. It was wonderful. Thank you.

Like some other (almost) customers, I can only confirm the experiences described there. In an extremely unfriendly manner, a group of 19 people were refused entry because we "only" wanted to consume drinks. Tried once, never again.

We had a very nice evening, the food was fantastic and we were well looked after. We always like to come back!

I would prefer not to give a star at all, I asked for coffee and cake at 3 p.m., such a cheeky answer came, unbelievable, I would be ashamed if I treated my guests like that...Continue no comment,,,

Unfortunately, as a group of 16 cyclists, we weren't even served at 2 p.m. We were sent off in a rude manner. The reason was that the personal break comes first. 30 minutes for a cooling drink would certainly have been enough for us. Hospitality is no longer the same here... so more precise information is no longer possible...

Ich war hier als Radfahrer quasi gestrandet, nachdem mich bei Schloss Harkotten ein Hornissenschwarm angegriffen hatte und ich einen Stich in den Nacken abbekommen hatte. Die Frage, ob die Küche mir mit einem Stück Zwiebel aushelfen könnte wurde sofort (trotzt Angebot gegen Bezahlung) kostenlos erledigt und es gab sogar noch ein Kräuter-Dip zusätzlich. 1000 Dank dafür - obwohl ich kein regulärer Gast sein konnte. Damit war durch das Gefühl "irgendwie doch auch was gemacht zu haben" ... meine heutige 100km+-Radtour gerettet. Ich komme wieder als ordentlicher Gast ... ! Mein Vorsatz ... promised!

Highly recommend to book as the lovely beer garden is very popular. Its setting is idyllic and love the round tables which always makes it easier to speak to everyone when you’re a small group. The food is delicious and portion sizes are huge. Can highly recommend.

Dear Susanne, thank you very much for the lovely evening. We felt very comfortable. We were so warmly welcomed and served, fantastic. And the food was simply brilliant. We'll definitely be back tomorrow. Vanessa and Tanja (monastery).

Unfortunately you can't give any negative points here. But what we received as a service was a real disgrace. It is a really nice place where you could enjoy a stay. But not with this staff, although it was probably the boss herself who disgusted her customers out of the house. Never again!!!

We haven't eaten as well as we did here in a long time! We will be back definitely!

Very tasty food, friendly service/owner. Nice and cozy, the fireplace was on and after the delicious meal there was a greeting from the kitchen for dessert. We liked it very much.

Gemütliches Ambiente, übersichtliche Speisekarte, saisonale Küche und der Koch versteht wirklich sein Handwerk. Wehrmutstropfen: auf allen Tischen standen "Reserviert"- Schilder, für "zufällige" Gäste bleibt dann kein Platz mehr und scheinen dann nicht willkommen zu sein.

Great beer garden at the mill pond!

This place features traditional German cuisine with hearty dishes and big portions in a rural Westphalian setting. When the weather is nice, guests can sit in a large garden under big old trees next to an old mill pond, which is most picturesque. Children can play in the garden and there are even some goats to pet. Service was very nice and swift. Pricing is moderate and worth the food. Highest recommendation for the detour into the countryside!

Sehr leckeres und reichliches Essen.Zügige und freundliche Bedienung, Räumlichkeiten geschmackvoll, schlicht eingerichtet. FAZIT:Immer wieder und jedem zu empfehlen.

Es liegt in ein schönes Fleckchen Erde. Geschmacklich ist das Essen sehr lecker und preislich unglaublich.

Sehr schön uns idylisch gelegener Biergarten. Schönes Ziel für eine Radtour. Restaurant machte mit den Spargelgerichten auch einen guten Eindruck. Wir waren allerdings nur im Biergarten.

das Gasthaus ist mir schon im letzten Sommer während eines Ausflugs aufgefallen...liegt sehr schön an der Bever, mit tollem Garten, interessanter Speisekarte. Anläßlich meines Geburtstages wollte ich dort gerne speisen. Sehr angenehmes Personal, nett, fix trotz eines wahnsinnigen Zuspruchs von Gästen, der Chef sehr freundlich. Es schmeckte sehr gut, auch ein Augenschmaus, ich war total zufrieden. Hier möchte ich gerne noch einmal hin...(wohne 50 km entfernt)

Super mega lecker. Gute westfälische Küche. Hatten vier Gerichte alle sehr lecker. Nette freundliche Bedienung und der Kamin sorgte für ein gemütliches Ambiente. Gerne wieder.

The restaurant is next to a beautiful park , very nice atmosphere but the food i got was extremely salty , especially the soup. And the service was alright but can be more friendly. Next time i would come only for a drink and enjoy the view because the food is not for me.

Wird sind Sonntags mit dem Rad hin gefahren und wollten eigentlich nur was trinken. Dann Sitze da und kriegst doch Hunger. Wir hatten einen Salat und frischen Matjes, beides sehr lecker. Wetter Top, Service Top, Essen Top, was will man mehr.

Ein wunderschöner Garten zum Verweilen, leckere saisonale Speisen .Sehr freundliche aufmerksame Bedienung . Es empfiehlt sich eine Anmeldung am Vortag. Das Lokal hat ein begrenztes Kontinent.

Diesem Ort wohnt wirklich ein Zauber inne. Garten und Terasse - das Schönste was und breit zu finden ist. Das Essen war sehr lecker und reichlich. Der frische Fisch, der zusätzlich angeboten wurde weil nicht auf der Karte war der Hammer. Die Wirtin- eine echte Sympathieträgerin auf den 2.Blick:) hatte im Service Unterstützung von ukrainischen Frauen.Alle sehr nett.Verständigung teilweise auf Englisch. Dieses Lokal in dieser ganz besonderen Umgebung- ein wahrhaft magischer Ort.

Erstmal vorweg, das Essen war sehr lecker. Schön angerichtet, sehr gut abgeschmeckt. Aber…. Alles andere eine Katastrophe. Wenn man essen geht, möchte man sich wohlfühlen. Die Kellnerin ( Chefin? Drachen?) ist eine reinste Katastrophe. Unfreundlich, patzig, schlecht gelaunt. Obwohl Maskenpflicht, wird Maske meistens unter dem Kinn getragen. Sorry, sowas habe ich selten erlebt. Kein freundliches Wort, alles wird einem mehr oder weniger auf den Tisch geschmissen. Der junge Kellner der auch dabei war, war nett, hatte aber anscheinend nicht viel zu melden. So kann man sich halt die Kunden vergraulen. Und nicht mal tschüss wenn man geht. Schlimm…..

Wir sind von der Gastfreundschaft und der Qualität sowie vom Geschmackserlebnis begeistert. Tolles, qualitativ hochwertiges Essen - hervorragend zubereitet. Ambiente - umwerfend!
