We had dinner there with the business this week after our company outing. The food was prepared with love and tasted very good. The service was great. I'd love to come back.

I went to the restaurant for lunch and thought it was good value for money, it was very tasty. The staff was very friendly and child-friendly. Only short waiting times were also very positive.

Good bourgeois cuisine. Price performance is okay. The service is attentive and tends to come to the table twice. The small salad was dressed with a subtle sauce and went perfectly. My farmer's schnitzel was good, nicely prepared and overall it went well with the sauce. The meat was well fried, not dry, and the fried potatoes were also well fried. The farmer's schnitzel is with egg and bacon, which is a good combination. However, because I ordered a cherry bacon sauce, the salt content is on the high side. I personally don't think it's that great, but it's still a good dish that I can recommend. I'd love to come back.

I was alone with two small children looking for a place to have lunch. And by chance and a lot of luck I came across this very child-friendly restaurant. The little ones were able to keep themselves busy in the children's corner until the food came. Even a dropped drink was replaced without any problems and was not charged for. The children were given children's cutlery and plates without being asked. The children and I felt very comfortable. Even our previously somewhat tense mood was blown away after this experience. We were there on Saturday at 4 p.m. It wasn't full yet. We went there specifically because we had children with us and we noticed that there was a play area here. The food was very tasty. But what I particularly noticed for the first time was how child-friendly it was. Coloring menus, a play area, a children's toilet and a changing area. This happens far too rarely in VS. We also had two dogs with us and of course a water bowl was put there without asking. Wow, we felt absolutely comfortable and would love to come back! :)

We were invited, otherwise I would very likely have annoyed... about price/performance, condition of table, chair, menu and especially about the time it took for the food to arrive. Black Forest all sorts 26.90 euros A grown man couldn't get enough of it and maybe that's how it has to be, the cheese spaetzle was swimming in the fat. 2 people had breaded pork schnitzel, the top schnitzel was nice and "golden", the bottom one was very black... just about on the verge of being eaten. But let's start at the beginning, the table was booked for 6 p.m., we were there at 6 p.m. and were kindly taken to our table, which unfortunately was carelessly cleaned! The floor and the chair were sticky from the previous person's spilled drink... Had to point this out to the waitress and ask her Bring a cloth so you don't get stuck on the chair. Since the menus are loose pages on a clipboard, It shouldn't be a problem to replace them regularly, Ours were very, very worn and looked pretty rancid. We ordered around 6:30 p.m.... The meal took much longer than expected. (according to many reviews, the food comes very quickly) There were five of us... it took over an hour until we all had something to eat. The food tasted good, but not exceptional! Maybe we had a bad day, But I don't go there with several people anymore! Some tables of two who arrived far after us had their food clearly in front of us...

Good selection of food and drinks, fair and reasonable prices. Great ambience, clean sanitary facilities. Dogs are also allowed.. Friendly and attentive staff.

I have celiac disease and was able to eat a gluten-free schnitzel with fried potatoes here - it tasted fantastic! The service staff was super friendly. There is a lovingly furnished play area at the back of the restaurant for children. We ate there again two days later because we liked and enjoyed it so much. Big recommendation!

Food was ok, but really nothing special. Waiting times were unreasonable, so you could hardly enjoy the food. Long waiting time even for drinks, no questions...it was like self-service. All in all, I found the food very expensive, considering that we sat on a beer bench on the street and had to wait so long...we chose our own seat, but the price and performance here are not right for me. I'm not coming back.

We were at Kuckuck for lunch on a Monday and all the tables in the upper (nicer) area were occupied. The friendly waiter (who later identified himself as the boss) immediately offered to let us know as soon as a place on the 1st floor became available, which worked. We both ordered lunch menus, which were both very tasty. The soup of the day was also very tasty. In short: delicious food, great service and good price/performance ratio, gladly again🤗

You come in and immediately feel at home, the ambience appealed to me immediately. Food is very tasty and if it tastes good, you don't need 30 dishes! There is a small mango, but this is probably due to the structural requirements; toilets and kitchen are on the first floor. The staff no longer needs a gym!!! I'd love to come back.

Very tasty food and even better service. We received great service throughout the evening and even at a late hour we were still full of energy and had a smile on our faces. There's not much more that can be said about the food other than that all expectations of a delicious German restaurant were met. Very clear recommendation from me. The Cordon Bleu tastes fantastic with the spaetzle and is a must-try. Card payment is also possible here.

In this restaurant the guest gets the food first and then the cutlery. For some guests it took quite a long time if the waiter was delayed. Not so professional, given the high prices. I had cream slices with spaetzle. However, this was more of a children's portion. In order to be able to eat the remaining Geschnetzeltes with Spätzle, I asked for some more Spätzle. I got these too. However, these were fully accounted for. Interesting if this is the business tactic to generate further sales rather than happy guests coming back. In order to cover up the calculation of the spaetzle, when we paid we were only told the total price (€66.30 for two people), not a list of the individual amounts. Since I asked for the receipt after paying, I was only able to see what was charged. We have an obligation to issue receipts, but it's not clear to me why this is ignored in the cuckoo. Maybe also to cheat the tax office. The restaurant actually has potential, but these events obscure everything.

We were here for dinner and we had a very good time both for the kindness and for the food we ordered. We had our two Dalmatian dogs with us and they were very welcome :) I would also like to point out that the choice of vegetarian dishes on the menu is really very wide!! Compliments :)

Very very good restaurant. The food is great, the people are nice, they have dishes for children and vegetarian ones as well. I don't think you can be disappointed there.

Il locale è molto bello all'interno e si può mangiare anche fuori, però non c'è il climatizzatore all'interno (almeno a me no parecía che ci fosse). Sono venuta qui a cena in famiglia in vacanza. Il servizio è un po' lento, ma alla fine vale la pena aspettare perché i piatti sono belli esteticamente e sono anche molto buoni. Anche il prezzo ci sta. Il ristorante è molto bello, anche se il menù è completamente in tedesco: io e i miei genitori abbiamo dovuto usare il telefono per tradurre. Consiglierei vivamente di mettere sotto il nome e la descrizione del piatto la traduzione in inglese per i turisti, especialmente se non sanno il tedesco.

Everything was great. Great staff and great service. We really liked the atmosphere and in my opinion the play area for the little ones is worth its weight in gold for mothers/families who want to eat in comfort.

I was there for dinner a few days ago on business. The food was delicious, beautifully prepared and special requests were dealt with in a friendly and problem-free manner. The staff was super on the ball and friendly. They were also able to give me very good information about the parking bollards in the district. The ambience is very appealing. I'd love to come back soon!

Went there for the first time recently with a few friends. After the drink intake went smoothly, there was a bit of a delay when it came to ordering food. However, the restaurant was also very full. But the further course was positive again. So a large portion appeared on the plate, which meant that no one left the table hungry. The price was also reasonable. In that case all we can say is, we'll be back.

We went there for dinner on Fasnet Tuesday after the parade. As expected, the restaurant was full to capacity. Despite the huge crowd, we were served quickly and friendly and the food was also great. Gladly again.

Lots of service staff who are quick to respond to requests at any time and then deliver promptly. Ambiance is modern, valuable and clean. The food is consistently delicious and the portions are huge. Good address, just parking 🅿️ is a matter of luck at the location.

A good choice for local ‚grandma‘s‘ food, typical local black forest dishes and produce. We ate the turkey schnitzel with fried potatoes (bregli) with cream sauce, and the assorted Schwarzwald platter (spaetzli in a creamy cheese sauce, with fried onions and bacon on top, two pork fillet medallions and a huge maultasche (like a giant ravioli filled with minced meat and herbs) served with brazen sauce. Really wholesome and tasty, albeit a bit on the heavy side: perfect for a cold Winter‘s day. The local beers (Schwarzwald Pale Ale) and cider were also excellent.

Yesterday we spontaneously went to “Zum Kuckuck” because we really wanted to eat Swabian food. Although we were there relatively early, the Kuckuck was already fully booked and we were offered either a table for 1.5 hours or a seat at the bar. We chose the bar and that was the best decision! We were able to talk a lot with the incredibly friendly staff, as well as with the boss himself, who explained his concept to us. Not only is there the typical Swabian food, but also the whole thing has been reinterpreted, such as a Käsespätzle burger or a Maultaschen tarte flambée. Everything is sourced regionally, including a lemonade called Tannenliebe, which the owner gave us to try. All in all, we are very convinced by the concept and the implementation of the entire team, especially by Andy who made us laugh the whole evening. We look forward to visiting the Cuckoo again on our next visit to Villingen!

Das Ambiente ist zumindest im hinteren Teil im EG verbesserungswürdig. Der Service war gut, die Portionsgröße passt nicht so richtig zu den Preisen.

Sehr leckeres Essen. Frische Zutaten. Es wird auf Qualität geachtet. Preis für dass essen ist noch im Grenzbereich. Einen Stern Abzug knappe 5€ für einen 0,4 Softdrink finde ich persönlich zu viel.
