Zum Knoche is open again, this time under a new tenant as far as I know. The service was friendly, the “back room” was more comfortable than before and it tasted at least as good as the old team.

Unfortunately, the quality of the food and its taste have deteriorated significantly with the new tenant. It is unfortunate that this great traditional restaurant has not found a worthy successor. I used to like to invite friends from outside here, but unfortunately we were disappointed under the new management. However, the service was friendly.

Very cozy restaurant with good food. Also a little different, the fried potatoes and fries are partly peeled and very tasty. You should try a very good liver dumpling soup as a starter. The dishes are a bit more modern and very tasty.

The Handkäs with music as a starter was good, even if there could have been a bit more bread. But that's not so bad, you could definitely have had another slice as a second helping (the bread was very good). However: The two main courses (liver dumplings with mashed potatoes and cabbage and schnitzel with green sauce and “fried potatoes”) were not really warm/hot The seasoning was also definitely not enough (schnitzel with green sauce). What was really bad, however, were the fried potatoes, which were really burnt black. Even when the half-full plate was cleared away by the service and feedback was asked, the black potatoes were not addressed: no compensation was offered, no dessert was offered, or at least a medlar was given “on the house”. It was also very loud as rounds of dice games were being played at some neighboring tables.

The Frankfurter would be happy to come back. That's how I like it, rustic, cozy, friendly and a menu where I can definitely find something to suit my taste buds. Absolutely fair value for money and, by the way, the best knuckle I've had so far. Thumbs up and happy again!

Nice restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. Delicious food and friendly, attentive service. Although a good middle-class cider pub, there is also delicious non-alcoholic beer and plenty of vegetarian dishes to choose from. What more could you want? We'll definitely be back 👍👍

Rating for the restaurant “Zum Knoche” I recently had the pleasure of dining at Zum Knoche Restaurant and I have to say it was an absolute delight! As soon as you enter the restaurant you are greeted by a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The rustic, but at the same time modern ambience ensures that you immediately feel at home. All in all, it was a completely successful visit to Zum Knoche. I can only warmly recommend the restaurant and am already looking forward to my next visit!

The apple wine tavern “Zum Knoche” in Bad Vilbel is a real gem for lovers of traditional Hessian hospitality. As soon as you enter you can feel the authentic atmosphere of a family-run hotel. The menu offers an excellent selection of typical Hessian dishes that are prepared with great attention to detail. Full 5 stars for this great guesthouse!!!

Very nice atmosphere, unfortunately we waited a long time for our food after the starter. The food was very good and plentiful. When asked about the main course, the conditions weren't exactly friendly. Here you should react somewhat kindly.

Yesterday we had an outstanding evening with a birthday party in the Bauernstube. Top marks on all dishes ordered! This was absolutely excellent and recommended. Thanks to the entire team and especially to the kitchen.

We were in the Bone for the first time after the reopening. The Knoche has always been an institution in Massenheim and we are very happy that it has reopened. But... unfortunately there is still potential for improvement. The menu has almost everything a cider bar should offer, even if I personally miss the meatloaf. The hand cheese was very tasty, but what chives are supposed to do with the music remains questionable. Green sauce was very tasty, as were mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. The schnitzel, to put it positively, was unobtrusive, the fried potatoes were bland. What didn't work at all were the braised onions, which were somehow strangely seasoned. Very incomprehensible... About the service: After the starter we had to wait a good hour for the main course, while the guests at the next table who came after us were already enjoying their food... The service also asked them whether everything fit and whether it tasted good. No inquiries from us... Finally, when clearing up and paying, there was no demand from service and no regrets after feedback from us, just a note that it was “busy”. We will try again because we hope that the Knoche will be the friendly and good cider bar it once was, but there is still a way to go.

We chalk up the long waiting time, which we were fairly warned about when we arrived, to teething problems. The service was careful and friendly, the food was perfectly fine, the drinks arrived quickly and the prices were absolutely fine. We'd love to come back.

It was a lovely evening and the food came to the table quickly and fresh. An interesting Hessian menu with a twist. We'll be back!

I was able to enjoy the excellent food on the opening weekend. The service is attentive and extremely friendly even though the rush was enormous, which adds to the feeling of hospitality. The rustic, charming ambience is particularly pleasant. But even a room with a slightly more modern design offers a nice feel-good character. A place that I can fully recommend.

Unfortunately, the food was miserable and had to be reheated several times and I didn't get the same taste as from the menu. Unfortunately, it was more like frozen food. I have to say the service was very friendly and nice.

A lot has changed for the better. The Knoche has a great team and very good quality of food and drinks. The start with new catering was a success! We'll be coming more often now!

'Fortunately, the current operator will stop at the end of January 2024. Host is annoying with stupid sayings, prices are too high, Food too expensive, quality inadequate compared to before Operator family. Example- Tafelspitz, meat quality rubber, side dish potatoes worst quality. Hardly seasoned etc., in other dishes the fried potatoes were burnt, barely seasoned. Oh, where can you still find good Hessian cuisine today??

Quaint local. Cozy and hospitable. The food is very tasty. Staff friendly and funny. Price performance is great here.

Always great in the past, unfortunately very bad yesterday. Waiting time for food was over 75 minutes. Also for the hand cheese. There is no more information, potatoes and other things in between. 2 schnitzels were half raw and had to be fried twice. But it didn't taste good because old oil was used. It's a shame, it used to be great.

Unser Gans Essen im Knoche war so lecker! Besser geht es nicht. Vielen Dank- Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Knoche ist nur empfehlenswert ich mit meiner Familie sind bis jetzt noch nie enteuscht worden! Ein Tipp: Hausgemachter Appelwein!

Ein wirklich sehr schönes uriges hessisches Restaurant. Der Handkäs ist der Beste den man in der Region kriegen kann und der Appelwoi ist auch sehr gut 👌🏻

Waren mit Freunden hier. Service und Essen waren fantastisch ;) Cordon bleu, Handkäse, Schneegestöber, Frankfurter Schnitzel und natürlich der Äppler und Mispelchen.. alles toll !!

Rustikale Dorfkneipe hessischer Art, urig und gemütlich, Service sehr fix und freundlich und aufmerksam. Tolle hessische Speisekarte. Etwas abgelegen aber ein gutes Navi findet ja alles 😸 Es hat jedem von uns gut geschmeckt, wir kommen wieder.

Lustig-kauziger Wirt mit klassischer Speisenauswahl und Topqualität.

Neuer Wirt und immer sehr gut drauf leider sind seine derben Sprüche und Späßle ein ticken zuviel und das kommt nicht bei jedem gut an. Macht die Stimmung kaputt. Essen ist gut, ordentliche Portionen zum fairem Preis.

Der Salat war grausam. Mais, Bohnen, Rote Beete Streifen aus der Dose und nur etwa 5 Blätter frischer grüner Salat (bei den Preisen eine Frechheit). Das Jägerschnitzel hatte sehrsehr wenig Bratkartoffeln, die Sosse musste ich mir mit meiner Begleitung teilen, dazu kaum Pilze in der Jägerschnitzelsosse und keinerlei Sahne (ich liebe Jägerschnitzel aber dazu gehört eine schöne Pilzsahnessse mit vielen Pilzen)- und dafür werden etwa 20€ berechnet. Einfach nur dreist. Salat aus der Dose, kaum Pilze, kaum Bratkartoffeln, null Dahne aber utopische Preise. Nie wieder. Wenn das typisch hessisch ist da ess ich in vielen Raststätten besser. Einfach nur Abzocke

Nach langer Zeit haben wir mal wieder sehr lecker im Knoche gesessen, der Service war sehr freundlich. Das Essen war auch unter dem neuen Besitzer sehr gut. Und wie schön, es gibt jetzt Schweinehaxe im Knoche zu Essen.

Gutes Essen, klasse Äppler, klasse service.

Schnitzel und Saucen haben keinen Geschmack, Zwiebeln bei den Bratkartoffeln waren verbrannt. Kein Vergleich zum vorherigem Wirt Familie Meyer. Wer es mag quer durch den Hof oder den Gastraum unangebracht und dümmlich angebrabbelt zu werden (jetziger Wirt) ist hier gut aufgehoben.

Wir waren mit 8 Personen hier in der urigen, alten „Äppelwoi-Kneipe“. Wobei es natürlich keine Kneipe, sondern ein Restaurant mit seeeehr leckeren hessischen Spezialitäten ist. Der Äppler kommt im Bembel und kann in verschiedenen Größen bestellt werden. Das ist perfekt, denn man muss nicht dauernd nachbestellen. Natürlich gibt es auch andere Getränke. Angesprochen wird man sofort freundlich, resolut mit Witz und mit Du. Wir waren alle sehr zufrieden und jeder hatte etwas anderes bestellt. Alles kam super schnell und gemeinsam auf den Tisch. Die Speisekarte ist voll mit leckeren Gerichten, die wir unbedingt noch probieren möchten. Darum haben wir für diese Woche auch gleich wieder reserviert. Übrigens: Bei schönem Wetter gibt es einen Biergarten. Von mir und meinen Freunden gibt es 5 ⭐️ und ein dickes Dankeschön an das Personal 🙏🏻👌🏻

Hilfe! Man hat mich in eine Applewoi-Gaststätte entführt! 😎 Aber es hat Spaß gemacht. Hessische Küche ist sicherlich nicht jedermanns Sache, bereitet allerdings in diesem urigen Ambiente viel Vergnügen und schmeckt sogar. Etwas laut, etwas urig, etwas frech - so stellt man sich eine original Applewoi-Kneipe vor. Passt! Gerne wieder - wenn ich mich von der Grünen Soße erholt habe…
