We were there for lunch with a larger group. After a warm, professional welcome and a look at the menu, it can be said that there is something for everyone, including vegetarian and vegan dishes. The service is very good, they are happy to take care of your every wish. The food was very good, we had a variety of different starters, main courses and desserts, everything freshly prepared and very tasty. I chose the vegan option. Really on point in terms of taste. Which has nothing to do with the food but is very good for the space. The dining room was full down to the last table. You would think that it must have been very loud, but thanks to appropriate soundproofing measures on the ceiling, it was very pleasant and there wasn't really any noise in the small room. It's been a long time since I've visited the Old Mill indoors, usually only outside in the summer, and I'll definitely be back

Very nicely located restaurant on the Nidda. Privacy-protected courtyard where you can sit protected from the wind. The food is different. The salads and the daily menu (spaghetti pesto) were delicious and a very generous portion. The schnitzel with fried potatoes was manageable. The meat portion was OK but the fried potatoes were a bit tight and quite oily. The staff is friendly, very attentive and on the ball.

The service in particular is outstanding. We always like to come back.

We went to the old mill for the first time last night as part of our team Christmas party and were simply thrilled. We were asked about our menu preferences by email in advance. Then our Christmas party started yesterday. From the first minute we received incredibly good and attentive service, but it didn't seem intrusive in any way - it's a fine line sometimes. We received wonderful and varied advice regarding the starters and main courses. Even special requests were fulfilled without hesitation by our friendly service employee Jefferson with an open and friendly smile. The dishes were a poem and were praised by all colleagues. The cuisine is upscale, but also offers good portion sizes that fill you up - so the slightly higher prices are definitely justified. The dining room inside is not very large and therefore has a cozy atmosphere. We went to the Christmas party with another company, but we didn't feel disturbed or neglected. The beautiful outdoor area definitely encourages multiple visits in the summer when you can sit outside. As we have done for many years, we celebrated our own company's Christmas dinner with you yesterday. (We sat on the mirror side). Like every year, we go in full of anticipation, feel in good hands in every respect and leave totally happy. You gave us a really nice evening with your warmth and your culinary highlights. We - six people - had a wonderful evening in the Alte Mühle and enjoyed it very much! Everything was right: the food, the service and the ambience. We felt comfortable and will definitely come back in the summer to sit outside and enjoy the food! The only drawback is the parking situation. Out of necessity, we parked in the Volksbank parking lot and paid 11.50 euros for 4.5 hours when we left!

Simply great. Very tasty, high-quality food and great ambience on the Nidda. But what stood out for me was the service. All service staff are super friendly and accommodating. The waitress who served us was great. I pointed out to her that I had a nut allergy and she specifically asked the kitchen and modified the dish a little for me. Instead of walnut dressing, there was normal oil and balsamic vinegar for the salad. That sounds super simple, but unfortunately it is not self-evident. She also automatically paid attention to the appetizers and informed me again that she had asked and that I could eat everything with peace of mind. You feel in good hands here. Thank you very much for the lovely evening. P.S. The baked sweet potato with beef strips and the corn-fed chicken are awesome.

Always fantastic. Celebrated here 17 years ago after our wedding in the town hall, celebrated my 60th birthday here, and also my farewell to active professional life. Recently celebrated our wedding anniversary here. We eat here often and have never been disappointed. Creative food at its finest. Location on the Nidda is great. Service very friendly. You should make a reservation now because it is very popular. The restaurant deserves success. Even during Corona times, the team gave everything to survive. We look forward to such a good restaurant near us.

Very nice, but seems a bit cold

The drinks consist of 50% ice. Then they don't taste as good. The cardboard straws are no good at all. Glass straws are much better. Or noodle straws also work. It's not a romantic old mill, but a completely normal house. But the park opposite is nice.

Very nice aaaaaaaaabut I don't know what was going on today but I wanted a hard boiled egg ordered I had to let it go back 5 times the first one was completely raw and the one after that was very soft to runny 😂

Ate there full of anticipation (because of the good reviews). My partner's food was ok but it was also at the table more than five minutes before mine. When my food came the meat was almost cold and the beef quality was not good. It was very greasy and mixed. Instead of chanterelles, there were baked vegetables on the plate. When asked, they said there were no more chanterelles left! Conclusion: Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio doesn't fit at all. It's a shame but unfortunately not recommended.

Beautiful ambience, in summer and winter. Every time I'm there I'm amazed by the delicious, amazing food and the wonderful staff!

Nice location by the river. Here you can also enjoy a drink while chilling on deck chairs. Restaurant terrace on 2 levels with a very pleasant atmosphere. Staff really of exceptional friendliness. So far so good. I've eaten here several times and it's always been good. Unfortunately, this time I made the mistake of ordering something that at least sounded Asian, but didn't taste anything like it. The glass noodles with vegetables and fried shitake mushrooms were an imposition and should not be served in any self-respecting restaurant. The glass noodles were a single, indiscernable lump that they had probably forgotten to loosen up during the short cooking process. Actually every amateur chef knows this. The vegetables consisted of 3/4 raw green pepper strips. However, the 2 (two) shitake mushrooms, which should only be briefly fried, were completely overcooked, therefore slimy and no longer recognizable as mushrooms. Typical variety of flavors that Asian cuisine thrives on: Not available. This fiasco on the plate cost 17 euros. The dish with the worst price-performance ratio I've ever had. I wonder why they put something like this on the menu and don't just stick with regional cuisine. For the sake of fairness, I would like to say that the taste of my companions' dishes was okay.

Always great every time. Simply fantastic, especially in summer. An absolute highlight this time were the glass noodles with vegetables, shrimp and shitake mushrooms. This dish must find a permanent place on the menu. The taste of this dish alone surpasses any upscale Asian restaurant we have visited to date. That's why the previous recession is a little surprising, because I describe vegetables like this as al dente and in Asia it is quite common to untangle the glass noodles in the liquid yourself (which, by the way, is normal, as every hobby cook who has ever done so knows prepared glass noodles ;-) ) in short, an excellent dish!

Very nice restaurant in Bad Vilbel right on the Nahe. I chose the vegan sweet potato, my accompaniment was the baby spinach salad with sheep's cheese. We enjoyed it and the portions were sufficient. We would love to come back 😊

I think the old mill is great. You sit in close proximity to the Nidda. If you just want something to drink, you can also sit on deck chairs directly on the Nidda. The white asparagus soup tastes great, the lasagna with asparagus is very fluffy and airy, a delicious meal. Sweet potatoes with veal are also great, very interesting salads combined with fresh and marinated vegetables. We always enjoy going to the Alte Mühle, usually for lunch. The service is great, the atmosphere is really nice and the food is always very good. The menu is diverse, regional and seasonal, but not overloaded and everyone will find something, whether meat, fish or vegetarian. The selection of drinks is large, we particularly like the homemade lemonades. We recently had lunch at the Alte Mühle with a group of 16 people and had emailed our main course selection to the restaurant in advance. We were able to sit outside in the sun, didn't have to wait long and everything was perfect. Both inside and outside you can sit very well and in a relaxed atmosphere. The service is always attentive and very friendly. Special requests are responded to flexibly. Highly Recommended!

Service is underground, not possible at all. Cake 🎂 tiny. We actually waited almost 30 minutes to pay. An older lady who sat down with us due to lack of space was not served at all. I was very sorry for you.

I love “the mill”. The food is always creative, whether Asian or Hessian. The waitresses are pleasantly casual and yet competent and friendly. Whether breakfast or dinner, inside or outside. Mill always works!

Only stopped in for coffee and kuchen. The location by the river is great, but apart from that, nothing special. The coffee was German strong and a good price. I wanted an Apfel Strudel until I saw the price. Nearly double what I would pay elsewhere. Maybe they served the whole cake?

Sehr schönes kleines Restaurant. Ich habe dort ein Frühstück gemacht und hatte ein Rührei und Pancakes. Hat sehr gut geschmeckt und von der Menge her hätte eins von beiden absolut gereicht. Die Bedienung war auch sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Gerne wieder.

War mit der Familie zum Mittagessen dort. Das Essen ist wirklich sehr lecker und die Preise sind fair. Der Kellner war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich was für mich auch einer der wichtigsten Punkte ist!

Mitarbeiter waren sehr nett aber am 3. Adventssonntag-Nachmittag ein wenig überfordert. Ein bestellter Kuchen und ein Kaffee wurden vergessen. Der Bratapfel-Marzipan Crumble war durchaus knusprig und lecker - aber etwas mehr Apfel und Marzipan wäre noch besser.

Wir waren im Rahmen einer Feier für unsere langjährigen Mitarbeiter und Mitarbeiterinnen da, das Ambiente und Essen waren sehr gut und der Service hervorragend. Sehr gute Auswahl an Speisen und Getränke für die Veranstaltung. Die Lage am Rande des Parks ist top.

War vergangene Woche mit mehreren Freunden, also insgesamt 14 Leuten hier essen. Den Tisch hatte ich schon einige Wochen zuvor bestellt. Alle Freunde waren über den Service, die bestellten Getränke und Gerichte begeistert. Der Service war sehr angenehm und aufmerksam. Besonders das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis hat allen sehr gut gefallen. Weiter so: Wir werden wiederkommen!

Ich gehe schon seit Jahren gerne in die Alte Mühle, denn dort kann man sich richtig wohl fühlen.

Das Essen ist ausgezeichnet mit wechselnden saisonalen Gerichten. Der Innenraum ist klein aber fein und kann daher auch etwas lauter werden, was einem schönen Abend bei uns nicht im Wege stand. Kommen gerne wieder.

Ich habe alle möglichen Sterne gegeben und würde sogar noch mehr Sterne vergeben, wenn es möglich wäre. Das sagt doch alles.

Ein ganz tolles Restaurant. Waren heute zum Mittagessen dort. Das Essen war so unfassbar lecker, wir hatten ein grünes thai Curry, einen afrikanischen Bohneneintopf mit Kochbananen, Nudeln mit frischen Pfifferlingen und Frankfurter grüne Sosse. Zum Nachtisch gab es noch eine Portion warmen Zwetschgen Crumble mit Streuseln. Unser Kellner war mega auf Zack, hat nur beste Laune versprüht und war sehr versiert. Wir kommen definitiv wieder.
