Der Abend bei Christian im Kesselchen war einfach nur toll. Er hat es möglich gemacht, dass wir trotz vollem Laden und ohne Reservierung noch einen Platz bekommen. Das Essen hat uns alle(!) sehr positiv überrascht, es war einfach on-Point. Der Service sympathisch, freundlich, professionell. Danke für die Bewirtung und die tolle Gastfreundschaft! Gerne wieder!

Weniger als 5 Sterne nicht gerechtfertigt! Wir hatten einen super schönen und spontanen Abend bei Christian und seiner Frau. Grandioses Essen, super angenehme und persönliche Atmosphäre. Wir kommen schleunigst wieder! Große Empfehlung! Käse Spätzle ohne Sahne: erste Sahne!

Das Kesselchen in Wetzlar ist ein besonderes Restaurant und eine echte Herzensempfehlung. Es wird privat von einem sehr liebenswerten Ehepaar geführt, wodurch eine unglaublich familiäre und freundliche Atmosphäre entsteht. Man fühlt sich jedes Mal herzlich willkommen. Alle Speisen werden frisch zubereitet und schmecken einfach fantastisch. Die Qualität und die Liebe zum Detail merkt man bei jedem Besuch. Wir kommen mit der ganzen Familie regelmäßig hier essen und freuen uns jedes Mal aufs Neue. Absolute Empfehlung!

Ein absoluter Geheimtipp in der Wetzlarer Altstadt! Die gemütliche Atmosphäre, der freundliche und aufmerksame Service sowie die hervorragende gutbürgerliche Küche haben uns begeistert. Die Speisen sind frisch zubereitet, geschmacklich hervorragend und mit viel Liebe angerichtet. Besonders die schwäbischen Spezialitäten sind sehr zu empfehlen. Man fühlt sich hier sofort willkommen und kommt gerne wieder. Klare Empfehlung für alle, die gutes Essen und familiäre Gastfreundschaft schätzen. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne.

Freundlich geführtes Speiselokal, mit Liebe zubereitete Speisen, die den Gaumen erfreuen. Und manchmal explodieren noch dazu die Geschmacksnerven ✌😁 Heute mit Spargel verwöhnt worden. Wir haben es wieder einmal geschafft einen Platz zu bekommen. Wie immer ist der Service und das Essen erstklassig gewesen. Diesmal haben wir gleich Vorort einen Tisch für den nächsten Gaumenschmaus reserviert.

Ich war total begeistert. Super nette Leute. Großartiges Essen. Perfekt gegarter Spargel, Tolle Kartoffeln und ein super leckeres Schnitzel.

Die hausgemachten maultaschen ?? Einfach toll … ich komme wieder.. der Chef ?? 🤣war richtig auf Zack (musste etwas schmunzeln ) er könnte etwas entspannter sein .. aber die Bude war voll, und er meistert das professionell

Kleinere, aber ausgesuchte Gerichte, die sehr lecker sind. Zu empfehlen: Rinderbäckchen...hmmm!

Sehr gut geführtes kleines Speiserestaurant inmitten der Wetzlarer Altstadt mit sehr sympathischen Inhabern. Deutsche regionale und schwäbische Küche. Meine persönlichen Highlights sind die Ochsenbäckchen, das Cordon Bleu und das Schwäbenpfännle. Sehr gute Getränke Auswahl an Bieren und Weinen. Tipp von mir Winkler Bräu probieren. Allein die Servierung im Glas ist ein Hingucker. Die Gastgeber sind sehr nett, auf individuelle Nachfragen wird möglich gemacht was möglich ist. Ich freue mich jedesmal wieder wenn es heißt, heute Abend geht’s zum Kesselchen nach Wetzlar.

Kann es leider nicht beantworten, als wir letztens da waren, wurden wir ziemlich enttäuscht, das sie auf Monate ausgebucht sind und auch eher etwas arrogant wirkten, als wir versuchten noch einen Platz zu bekommen. Es waren mehrere Tische frei und wir wurden erstmal an der Theke geparkt. Anstatt uns direkt darüber zu informieren, dass an Wochenenden sowieso alles ausgebucht ist und wir auf Nachfrage wann es denn wieder was freies gäbe auf Ende April (in einer ziemlich abgehoben Art) vertröstet wurden...auf eine Aussage, dass wir von dem guten Ruf wüssten und deswegen vorbeikommen entgegnete der eine der beiden Besitzer: "meinen Ruf?!" Wir schauten uns etwas verdutzt an und gingen etwas verstört und desillusioniert hereinschauend raus und entschieden uns fürs Ludwigs um die Ecke. War mindestens genauso gut auch vom Ambiente her, wir wurden freundlichst empfangen und nett bedient ohne komische Kommentare! Ob wir mal was zum Abholen bestellen werden ist eher fraglich. Immer schön auf dem Boden bleiben Jungs (; Alles Gute für euch aber so bekommt man nicht unbedingt einen guten Ruf 😉

Ein kleines "oldschool" Juwel in Wetzlar. Kleine und sehr feine Speisekarte mit Schwäbischen und Deutschen Klassikern. Convenience findet man hier nicht, die Gerichte schmecken tatsächlich "wie bei Omma", auch wenn man nicht auf eine schwäbische Großmutter zugreifen kann. Die Preise sind, in Relation zur Qualität, hervorragend und die Portionen dürften ruhig etwas kleiner sein ;-). Ich bin froh, dieses kleine und feine Restaurant gefunden zu haben, wir kehren dort jetzt gerne öfter ein.

Das ist ein ganz tolles, kleines Lokal. Inhabergeführt, selbst gekochte schwäbische Küche, aus gutem Grund immer ziemlich voll. Reservieren lohnt sich.

Klein aber fein, familiengeführtes Restaurant in dem der Wirt noch Gastgeber ist. Freundlich mit einem verschmitzten Lächeln hat er den Service alleine im Griff. Sensationell gutes Essen für absolut faire Preise. Einfach gute Küche wie bei Oma mit einer Portion Liebe gekocht.

Leider kam es zu keinem Besuch, da die Bandansage am Telefon schon suggeriert, das man keinen Bock auf Gäste hat. Dann werde ich, trotz guter Bewertung, mein Geld leider wo anders hin tragen Sehr schade.

Wir waren nun schon öfters im Kesselchen und es war immer wieder schön. Das Essen ist super lecker und das Team einfach nur nett. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Super Essen, z.B. schwäbische Spezialitäten, wie Zwiebelrostbraten, Käsespätzle und Maultaschen ganz toll und frisch zubereitet. Nur zu empfehlen. Das Restaurant ist klein aber gemütlich, familiär geführt. Leider muss man inzwischen frühzeitig reservieren, spontan funktioniert nur selten. Wir kommen immer sehr gerne wieder, um das Essen und ein Viertele zu genießen.

Sehr sehr schmackhaftes Essen, toller netter zuvorkommender Service. Waren heute das erste Mal mit Freunden (6 Personen) dort. Sie waren alle sehr begeistert. Das Restaurant ist zwar klein, aber fein. Ohne Reservierung kann man aber nicht auf gut Glück ankommen. Weiter so.

Tolles kleines Restaurant. Waren zum Mittagstisch dort und waren überrascht, wie klein es ist (30 Plätze max.) Lecker Maultaschen und Kesselgulasch gegessen. Alles frisch und lecker zubereitet. Danke an das Team 😀

5 stars A real highlight in Wetzlar! I've been to Kesselchen a few times now – and I've been impressed every time. The food is consistently of a very high standard, prepared with great attention to detail, and incredibly delicious. I have to particularly highlight the Maultaschen: simply a dream! So much flavor, perfect consistency – it couldn't be better. But everything else I've tried so far has been excellent, too. From hearty classics to creative surprises – the quality is simply top-notch. What rounds it all off is the staff: super friendly, attentive, and professional. You immediately feel welcome and in good hands. A place where you leave not only full, but happy. Absolutely recommended for anyone who appreciates good food and a great atmosphere. I'll definitely be back – and I'll bring friends next time!

We ate there today with four adults and three children. There was something for every taste—anyone with children like ours knows what that means—and the food was fantastic. Homestyle with a touch of Swabian. The portions were large and beautifully presented.

Definitely worth a meal. A disadvantage for those with walking difficulties: There are stairs to the restroom. The entrance and dining area are wheelchair accessible.

A super great little restaurant! Unfortunately it's always fully booked, so be sure to reserve! The schnitzels are definitely the best in the Wetzlar area! Price performance is top and reasonable! Service is super friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is very cozy and familiar, as well as a small outdoor area with seating, perfect to enjoy in warm temperatures. Location right in the old town.

A small cozy restaurant. The map is clear. The service is good. The food was tasty and of good quality and the portions were sufficient. The prices are justified. I can recommend this restaurant. It's better to make reservations for a visit.

5 stars are actually not enough to rate this restaurant. Let's start with the super attentive service, where the Swabian charm is the cherry on the cake. Here you are always greeted warmly and the fact that the service still knows what you ordered four weeks ago speaks for itself. The atmosphere can be described as cozy and stylish. There are "real" towels in the toilets (I personally think they're great), hand cream and deodorant. Let's get to food. It is simply indescribable and I can only recommend it to everyone. Large, freshly prepared portions for a more than fair price. Everything is freshly prepared and very seasoned. Here is a perfect mix of German home cooking and Swabian specialties. I was and am in love with the store and will take every opportunity to stop there. Really the best restaurant in a large area.

We went there for dinner last week. We were very disappointed!! We didn't like it at all. Firstly, the service was far too hectic and secondly, there was far too little choice on the menu. We won't be going there again!!

Gluten-free food in Wetzlar! I was there for the first time by invitation. Because I have severe celiac disease (gluten intolerance), I had previously thought about what I should eat. Zoeliak disease is a household name in the Kesselchen. They know their stuff well. Sauces are thickened with corn starch and schnitzels are breaded with gluten-free breadcrumbs from Schaer. To avoid contamination with flour, extra pans are also used. The portions are designed for large appetites. After a long time, it was time to go out to eat again without subsequent problems such as stomach cramps and diarrhea. I recommend that you reserve a table and state your celiac disease because the restaurant is very busy. I will go there more often now and enjoy the food.

It's incredibly good every time! Whether it's schnitzel with fresh mushrooms, ox cheeks, or the homemade Maultaschen (ravioli) that absolutely exceed all expectations. ❤️ The owners are always super friendly, kind, and accommodating. If it's not right, they'll make it right. Please stay with us for many more years!

A small, fine restaurant with beautiful Christmas decorations. The owners put a lot of effort into it. We always feel very comfortable here.

We were with a larger group at “Zum Kesselchen” and had a really wonderful evening there. We made reservations in advance, which I would recommend to anyone who is also planning to eat here! The owner is extremely friendly and incredibly accommodating. You immediately notice that hospitality is very important here and that you feel completely welcome as a guest. The prices are fair and absolutely reasonable. The food itself is a highlight in itself: German cuisine is excellently presented here, and every dish was a delight. From classic dishes to lovingly prepared variations – everyone will find something here and the quality is top. Everyone in our group loved it! Conclusion: “Zu Kesselchen” is an insider tip for everyone who wants to enjoy German cuisine in a warm ambience. We had a great evening and would love to come back.

Our telephone reservation went great. I left a message on the answering machine, but was called back with my appointment confirmation. Went great. The service was great as all the food and drinks were explained to us. I haven't had such a good onion schnitzel in a long time. The restaurant is not particularly large, but we felt very comfortable. If you're not on foot but driving a car, there are good parking options within walking distance. A reservation is recommended.

It was closed for a while, visited again today and was totally thrilled!!! Another opportunity to sample German cuisine. Everything was freshly made, portions were very good and super tasty. It's nice that it has reopened. I'll treat myself to this more often. Kind regards. Peter Stey

You can also call the kettle “the little insider tip” in Wetzlar. Here the food is prepared with a lot of love and skill. And you can taste it. I haven't eaten so well in a very long time. All time favorite for me and my family. From my daughter (5) to my grandma (83), we LOVE the restaurant, the owners and the food! We've never left the cauldron hungry or disappointed. The restaurant is always full and the time in which you have to make a reservation speaks for itself. ♥️

One of the best and most authentic restaurants we know! Warm and friendly owners, with high quality German and Swabian cuisine. Great drinks and a nice ambience at the foot of Wetzlar's old town. It's better to reserve early to get a spot. In summer you can sit at the restaurant in the middle of the pedestrian zone. 5/5 just a great place! We recommend

We ate here in a group and the behavior of the service manager was unfriendly and rather very directive. I didn't feel welcome or valued as a guest. The quality of the food was satisfactory - good craftsmanship - but not outstanding. The price-performance ratio is okay. The decor of the restaurant is simple and when the room is full it is difficult to have a conversation due to the background noise.
