The food was super tasty and highly recommended. Unfortunately the service is impossible and we didn't feel comfortable at all. It was not possible to convert a starter option into a main course for an additional charge. Even two starters as a main course (which would have been more worthwhile for the restaurant in terms of sales) was also not possible. Furthermore, the waiter was arrogant and unfriendly at the same time. The service made us wait 50 minutes (after our reservation had already been moved from 8:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.) until we could express our drink requests for the first time - before that we were ignored. Unfortunately, despite the excellent cuisine, I would not recommend this restaurant because I would like and know a friendlier and more welcoming approach in this price range.

We booked our New Year’s Eve dinner at this Italian restaurant and were delighted with the experience overall. The four-course menu was excellent, showcasing high-quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation. The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the festive atmosphere. However, the one letdown was the omission of the sparkling wine for the midnight toast. We had to remind the staff, and unfortunately, it arrived a bit late. Despite this minor hiccup, we would happily return.

This was our second time visiting the Restaurant zum Heiligen Teufel. The first time I wasn't 100% convinced, but I gave it another try. The food was absolutely loveless, beautifully prepared, but the taste wasn't good at all. My warm main course (cod fillet) was even cold and raw inside and tasted like it had been frozen and thawed. The tiramisu was not made with mascarpone but with whipped cream, how can that be offered in an Italian kitchen? The service was also simply non-existent, friendly but not attentive, and we waited more than half an hour until our empty plates with the main course were cleared away. The restaurant is not recommended.

The food is admittedly very good, to put that first. I made a reservation and received a confirmation for 6:30 to 10pm. Though starting to get there in time, we got stuck in public transport, so despite all efforts we were 11 minutes late (that is 11 minutes, not half an hour). When I introduced myself, first thing I heard was "You are late!". I felt scolded, honestly. They informed me that it was important to be punctual because I only had the table until 8:30pm. I then saw that they even called me, at 6:33, so three minutes after the starting time. I showed them my confirmation email saying that the reservation was until 10pm. They did not care about it. At 8:30 sharp I was given the bill ("I am afraid it's time."). Sure, they offered me to stay and sit at the bar. But I invited a friend to this dinner. Not only did I feel discomfort because I got scolded in front of him (and he and I knew we were trying to be there in time), I was embarrassed having (to tell him) to leave the table so rushed. Errors in the system can happen (such as my confirmation for the reservation until 10pm seems to have been an error). And we would not have insisted on staying until 10pm sharp. We were about to finish anyway, but we would have stayed for 15 to 30 minutes. Given the level of the taste of the food, I do not think that the service and handling this incident matches it, which was frustrating.

A dream. One of the best Italian restaurants in Berlin. Small menu but incredibly tasty…

Exquisitely composed food! Daring culinary contrasts (such as Gorgonzola ice cream for dessert) that taste really great. The deduction is due to the fact that there are only two hours left to eat the menu, I would have liked to have enjoyed it too (!). Two hours is too short for that. We were elegantly but firmly escorted out exactly after two hours. This is unacceptable for the quality and price!

First, the ambience. It's not possible for the tables to be placed so close together. If you're unlucky, you end up sitting close to strangers. That's not always nice. We sat inside in the winter but were lucky to get a table with a bit of privacy. The food and wine are awesome. Really exciting cuisine and brilliant wine advice. There are a lot of open wines. Really great. We'll definitely be back. But the time slots are carried out “mercilessly” haha.

A real insider tip! Great creative cuisine, great presentation, excellent taste and textures, delicious wines and Brut Natures, very nice service and absolutely attentive. Nice place, cozy. Highly recommended! We'll be back.

I found this place via Berlin food stories and booked on the spot, I was there 30 minutes later, and what a stroke of luck it was. The room itself is lovely, great lighting and atmosphere. Staff are all attentive and friendly without being over bearing. It was nice to chat to them as I was dining alone. The food was excellent start to finish, interesting and full of flavour. It’s also very well priced for the set menu and what you get. Chef Antonio was welcoming and kind. I look forward to coming back and trying more of the menu. My highlight was the veal tonnato, which is the best version of that dish I’ve ever had. Hell yeah 🤝

Bereits zum wiederholten Male haben wir uns für das Restaurant entschieden, um Kunden einzuladen. Das Essen ist von sehr guter Qualität und durchaus bezahlbar. Hier kann man sich darauf verlassen, dass die Wünsche der Gäste umgesetzt werden (wenn möglich), der Service ist hervorragend, die Weine eine Klasse für sich. Wer dazu noch ein hübsches, nicht aufgeregtes Ambiente mag, ist hier richtig. Wir kommen wieder!

GORGEOUS ! I had been following this restaurant on the networks since I arrived in Berlin 3 years ago and we finally had the time to go there. The evening exceeded our expectations. High quality Italian cuisine, traditional and modern at the same time. It's all in the detail. We had an extraordinary evening. I found my canteen! I have to say that I really don't understand the other really nauseating comments about this restaurant… As a catering professional, I highly recommend this establishment!!!

Unfortunately, our visit was a disappointment, especially because of the unfriendly service staff. We had to wait about 45 minutes before we were even served. After I gave a friendly wave to a waiter after 30 minutes, he said he would be there soon. When no one came after another 15 minutes, I waved friendly to another waiter. He responded in a very unfriendly tone: “You don’t need to call me with your hand, I’ll see you!” How else are you supposed to get the waiter’s attention when you’ve been ignored for so long? We were all very shocked by this inappropriate behavior. The food was good, but the inappropriate communication really dampened the mood. During dessert, the waiter suddenly tried to be overly friendly, which gave the impression that he just wanted to get a tip. Unfortunately, this sudden friendliness couldn't make up for the bad impression. In addition, the menu was advertised as €44, but depending on the main course selection, an additional charge was added to the menu price without warning - we only noticed this when we got the bill. Despite everything, I gave a little tip out of respect for my friends, even though I wanted to get up and leave after the incident. At €270 for 4 people the experience was too expensive. Therefore, unfortunately I cannot recommend the restaurant.

There were four of us there and we had a wonderful evening! The service was exceptionally friendly and committed. We were given a preview of the menu and felt well advised. The food was in no way inferior to what was advertised, but rather exceeded it. Absolute recommendation for a feel-good evening in the neighborhood.

We were here at a closed company. The food was amazing! Very good quality. The service was a bit inattentive, but otherwise an absolute recommendation. We ordered a menu, but I assume that the quality of the à la carte is also very good.

I was there for the first time today – and what can I say: it was perfect! I haven't eaten so well in Berlin for a long time. Each dish (there were three of us and we each had four courses) was unique and tasted excellent. To be honest, I'm surprised to see ratings below five stars here - sometimes the expectations are probably unrealistic or people may have no knowledge of gastronomy. Dear critics, tell me a place in Berlin where you can get such a fantastic menu for this price. The mere fact that filtered water is offered as a flat rate for €3.50 per person, in a city where a bottle of water costs at least €5, is impressive. The wine selection was also great. I will definitely come back and recommend it to everyone. My new favorite place in Berlin! Many thanks to the ZHT crew for this wonderful evening, especially to Mateo, who was our host and impressed us with his authentic and professional manner.

I have been living in Berlin for 20 years and have been looking for years (!!!) for a new highlight in Berlin that is not visited and operated by annoying self-promoters, where it is all about sensual taste, great food and atmosphere and service. People - Here it is!!! It starts with a great aperitif - Espresso Martini at its best! Then the bar snacks menu, the bread with the ragu and the parmigiana - best ever! There were three of us and we took the 3 course menu - €44 per person! The people (!!!) who comment here that it is overpriced and that there are better Italians in Berlin - go home and cook your pasta with Maggi Fix and cream, you have no idea what taste means!!! All (!) courses are so diverse in taste that it is an inspiring journey for the senses. The wine pairing at the dinner is second to none! The service cannot be beaten in terms of authenticity, hospitality next level! This shop is my new insider tip in Berlin! I will be back. And I hope he keeps his soul! Well done 👏

We were here in a group of 6. Eat: When it comes to food, you can choose between à la carte or menu. However, if you choose a menu, everyone has to choose the menu, otherwise everything will be priced like à la carte. But it's not that bad since the menu price isn't really attractive in terms of price. For the drinks there is only a wine list or only this is distributed. A bit of a shame because the price of other drinks is not known. The food tasted great. A little small but of course very nicely presented. Whether it is worth it must be decided personally. Service: The service was generally very nice and accommodating. However, everything took a very long time, probably because there were too few staff. As a result, the visit to the restaurant took a very long time. In addition, when paying at the end, it was not clear how the price was determined. Ambiance: Nice restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. A little cluttered, but otherwise everything okay. Overall conclusion: More expensive Italian restaurant with a small menu whose service takes longer. Most likely we won't come back. But there are better Italians in Berlin.

Overrated Italian with more appearance than reality. Chop of the daily menu with dry breading, partly fat and stringy, Pavlova dessert overly sweet and therefore no taste enlightenment. Wine list without any indication of origin, bottles starting at €40 are completely overpriced for the quality offered. The ambience is quite loud and reverberant due to the closely spaced tables.

Yesterday we went to “Zum Heiligen Teufel” for the first time and were totally thrilled by the delicious three-course menu. To start there were delicious olives with bread and olive oil, which was very delicious. Afterwards, the three of us each had a different starter, all of which were delicious. Quite pretentious, the service condescending to rude and the food was wanted but not really accomplished. Soggy risotto, unsalted fish and poor presentation. All in all, the staff and kitchen seem artificial and overwhelmed. The only toilet is in a pitiful condition. Bad. When I let my risotto go back, I was told that it was supposed to taste exactly like that, and when I replied that I thought it was bad, the waiter's reaction was a harsh 'Okay'. Maybe you shouldn't run a restaurant with that attitude. It has perhaps been running along familiar lines for too long to be convincing.

My friends and I spent one lovely evening here, again. Food was just impeccable and the wine selection outstanding. Antonio, Domenico and Ricardo made us feel so special. I’d definitely recommend the menu for groups offered by the Verein.

Loved every bite and minute! It‘s an amazing modern Italian place in a beautiful Kreuzberg setting. A dinner here is like traveling Italy without moving. The tasty 3-course menu is reasonably priced and fantastic because if you go with a friend you get to combine anything that’s on the menu. It‘s a v delightful restaurant with a v friendly team. Nice one!

Unfortunately, the restaurant has fallen into extreme decline after changing locations. The first impression is of course nice of the furnishings and ambience (even if there were open drill holes everywhere on the walls). The minus point was the lack of a curtain in front of the door, so it felt terribly drafty because people were constantly coming in and out. But otherwise both visits to the new location were a complete disappointment. The second time we were a slightly larger group, but that had been planned for weeks. We weren't given any flexibility with starters (everyone had to eat one for €20 per person whether they wanted to or not), but we thought at least it must have been so well planned. Unfortunately, the service was unbearably slow, so we had to wait half an hour for water at all, and our main courses didn't arrive until shortly before 11 p.m. Luckily no one was hungry anyway, because the portions of meat (especially the side dish) were incredibly small. The taste was okay but it wasn't particularly special either. Unfortunately, the two vegetarian dishes only came after we had all finished eating. To top it all off, there was the unexpected cost of limoncello: the waiter already brought the bill, but then asked if anyone wanted limoncello (a common gesture that is usually free in Italian restaurants). Only a few people wanted one, but they brought shots for everyone - in the end each shot was charged €5 per person. This was not only surprising but frankly ridiculous (I didn't even drink mine because I didn't want any). Such tricky dealings with customers are not okay. That was the last visit.

We come more often and are impressed every time. The ambience is nice and the service is warm. We recommend the sardines, as well as the very good Franciacorta. The individual courses are always well put together and tasted great. Whether mackerel with licorice or quail with pâté and brioche - then with the right wine - great starters! The main courses, which were more than generous for a menu - a creative combination of cod, savoy cabbage and caviar, with wonderfully bitter Cime di Rapa and a delicate trio of guinea fowl with a strong sauce - made us very happy. A semifreddo with pear was the perfect ending. We are looking forward to the next time.

The food is so delicious it should be iLLegal!!! The service is outstanding as well; the staff is humorous and exceptionally kind. The atmosphere is incredibly pleasant, tranquil, and delightful. The wine selection is also impeccable! P.S. Both couples were equally impressed with this place!

Our latest attempt at gastronomic pleasure was nothing short of a tragic comedy, with the once-proud main courses sauntering in at 11 pm, as if they had better places to be. The food, an uninspiring shadow of its former self, barely achieved the status of 'edible,' while the stingy portions left us questioning if they were in the business of fine dining or dietary teasing. Their inflexible stance on allergies and preferences was a masterclass in customer inconvenience, making it abundantly clear that customer satisfaction is a foreign concept. And as the pièce de résistance of their ineptitude, they had the gall to slap an extra 5€ on a farewell sip of limoncello—a move so petty it belongs in a miser's handbook. This establishment's customer service isn't just lacking—it's a spectacular crash and burn, leaving patrons longing for the golden era that's now buried beneath layers of culinary incompetence."

Das Essen war sehr gut und überraschend neu interpretiert. Einrichtung und Atmosphäre sind auch passend und wir hatten einen super Abend!

Erster Eindruck: schönes Ambiente, freundlicher Empfang. Wir hatten das 3-Gang Menü. Die Gerichte waren ansprechend angerichtet und sehr schmackhaft. Der Preis war angemessen, die zeitliche Abfolge der Gänge gut. Warum nur 3 Punkte? Die Weinkarte ist meiner Meinung nach schlecht strukturiert, vor allem sind die Weine aber völlig überteuert. Ein einfacher Nebbiolo 0,15l für 11 Euro ist völlig daneben. Die Bedienung kam extrem arrogant rüber, aber das ist nur mein subjektiver Eindruck. Ein absoluter Minuspunkt ist die Toilette. Vorne hui, hinten pfui. Eine Toilette für alle, Zustand und Pflege miserabel.

Alles ist im ganzen sehr schön, essen fantastisch, weinauswahl und Beratung sehr gut. Nur ist Service ist etwas langsam, bzw Weinservice wünscht wan sich etwas zügiger, vor allem, wenn die Weine zu den Gängen wechseln. Ansonsten top!

Perfektes italienisches Restaurant, war mit Freunden hier, super lecker, tolle Weine und tolles Ambiente

在柏林第一天的晚餐，参观完柏林墙被google推荐了这家意大利菜，老板和服务员都非常热情有礼貌，当我手机没电时，非常热情的提供了帮我的手机充电的服务，店里的菜单封面上的画特别好看，店里提供单点或者3gang的套餐，带小朋友店里有提供专门的儿童餐，从头盘赠送的面包油酱到甜品每一道菜都新鲜而好吃，连小朋友的儿童餐都做得非常美味，头盘的贝类组合汤头浓郁，吃完之后将特别烤制的面包放入海鲜浓汤中泡一泡，面包会裹满海鲜浓汤，吃起来满口留香，带着面包的脆香，浓浓的鲜香炸满舌尖，特别推荐！鱼腓力配上烤蔬菜与天妇罗绝了，非常适合亚洲口味，建议中国同胞旅游居住柏林一定要去打卡！绝对是一次美好的尝味体验！

Wir waren am späten Sonnabend auf Empfehlung eines unserer "Mitesser" hier eingekehrt und wollten noch eine Kleinigkeit zur Nacht einnehmen. Karte war flott da, Tisch draußen wurde genauso schnell noch abgewischt. Die Preise und die Auswahl der Gericht zeigen deutlich "kein Pizzaitaliener", sondern man ist hier ambitioniert. Die Qualität und der Umfang der Speisen liess nichts zu wünschen übrig, Preis nicht billig, aber gerechtfertigt. Beim Besuch des "Backoffices" trübte sich leider der positive Eindruck etwas arg. Hinter einer wunderschönen grünen Doppeltür verbirgt sich ein arg rummeliger Flur, das einzige Unisex-Klo wird mit einem Papierzettel an der Tür markiert. Hinter dieser Tür ist dann vom schicken Schein von vorn leider gar nichts mehr übrig - deutlicher Renovierunsbedarf. Mit Bedenken vier Punkte.

Tolles italienisches Restaurant mit leckerem Essen, guten Weinen und sehr freundlichem Service.

Das Essen war zwar gut, die Portionen aber ziemlich klein. Am Anfang sagte unser der Kellner es sei ein Menü, beim Kassieren sagte er dann, dass er es doch kein Menü sei und so wurde alles einzeln berechnet. Insgesamt hat es mir nicht gefallen.

Al Zum Heiligen Teufel puoi vivere un'esperienza unica nel suo genere: optando per il menù alla cieca, avrai modo di percorrere un viaggio fatto di sapori che rievocano ricordi, senza che gli autori dei piatti ne svelino i segreti. In pratica, una serie di portate - pensate per accendere la memoria inconscia di ogni commensale - arrivano al tavolo, ma non vengono in alcun modo presentate. Così, l'assaggio non è condizionato, e ciascun cliente può trovarci un gusto o un significato distinto, senza giusto o sbagliato. Il risultato è di un'introspezione che difficilmente può essere spiegata. Provare per credere.

Really amazing and inventive Italian with fresh ingredients. What a surprising spot!

Das Essen war gut aber nicht außergewöhnlich. Portionen recht überschaubar. Der Service war sehr gut.

Die vielen Schmähkritiken der Expats weisen ja schon darauf hin: Dies ist ein sehr gutes Restaurant mit italienischer Küche im zeitgenössischen Stil. Empfehlenswert ist das Menü (drei Gänge für 42 Euro), Pasta wird hier eher als Zutat oder Gewürz verwendet, nicht als «Sättigungsbeilage». Der Brotkorb wiederum sollte auf gar keinen Fall nicht bestellt werden, darin findet sich unter anderem ein herrliches Riff auf Papadam aus Leinsaat, Fenchel, Anis und Kürbiskernen. Die Desserts sind herrlich und man sitzt hier selbst auf dem Trottoir noch sehr heimelig. Als es eines Abends anfing zu regnen, manövrierte ein benachbarter Kleinunternehmer seinen Miniaturbagger durch die Tischreihen: «Scusi, ich stand im Halteverbot!»

Freundliches Personal, toller Berlin-Vibe, dazu war das Essen außergewöhnlich gut. 10/10 und wir kommen gerne wieder ❤️

If you’re looking for a cozy spot for dinner where to enjoy a lovely night with delicious food this is the right place! The chef Antonio, and Domenico plays also an important part in this place <3 Super recommended! & remember to book in advance!

Also sieht aus wie ein hochklassiges Restaurant aber das Essen konnte weder dem ersten Eindruck noch dem Preis entsprechen. Hatten 2 Hauptspeisen sahen gut aus doch waren geschmacklich unspektakulär und mangelten Raffinesse Aber der Wein war lecker (für n 10 pro glas) Denke das is einfach n weiterere schick aussehender laden der Touristen von der nahegelegenen Markthalle abgreifen will...

Sono stata invitata a cena in questo ristorante ed è stata una bellissima esperienza !!!! Ottima cucina e ottimi vini , ambiente cordiale e personale qualificato !!! Appena tor o a berlino sarà la mia prima tappa Top
