I was there early in the evening. I spontaneously stopped by for a burger. I sat outside. The burger was delicious, and the staff was attentive and friendly. I'll be back often 👍

Great place for food and billiards. Even on a Friday night it wasn't too crowded.

There are definitely better bars in Düsseldorf with friendlier and faster service. They're probably okay for watching sports if you have no other alternative.

We were there for two hours of billiards in the afternoon. The entire place reeked strongly of old, rancid French fry grease. It was disgusting. Afterward, we went to another bar nearby and were asked if we'd just been to the Golden Barrel, as we reeked strongly of French fry grease.

A good, homely pub with a certain charm. We were there as a group; the staff was always approachable, attentive, and courteous. The drinks arrived quickly, and we loved the draft beer selection. Our food also arrived quickly and was absolutely fine for a pub. We had burgers and schnitzel, which earned a 7.5/10 rating. The food wasn't anything extraordinary, but the portions were good, and the price was right. The only drawback is that you can only pay by card for amounts over €20.

Top is always really fun to play billiards, if you want to play for about 80 minutes it's about 8€

We often go to the Goldenes Fass – usually to watch football or play darts. And while we're there, we treat ourselves to the legendary giant schnitzel. Absolutely delicious and highly recommended! Great place! Brings people of all ages together in Flingern 👍🏼 An important part of this neighborhood for its residents.

We stop by here every now and then for a few beers and a few rounds of pool. Very cozy, and the owners are super friendly too! :) It can get crowded on game days, but you'll always find a spot.

The pool table was good, but that was a pool sauna. I've never sweated so much. It must have been 45 degrees. Hell isn't as hot as this place. The heat reminds me of the first time I spent 20 minutes in a sauna. Please, air conditioning, please. The service was good, except for the waiter's obvious exhaustion from the heat. He was showing the first signs of dehydration from the Sahara heat and tried to sell me an apple spritzer even though I wanted a Coke, but I can't blame him. It was hell on earth. My condolences to anyone who spends longer than 30 minutes there, although I suspect that anyone who can stand that is cold-blooded. My ice cubes melted within 1.5 minutes (stopwatch).

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. The venue is very large, with plenty of pool tables and darts. Highly recommended!!

The staff was extremely attentive – as soon as your glass was empty, they immediately offered you a new one. The billiards area is spacious and pleasant, perfect for a few games in a relaxed atmosphere. What's especially cool is that you can occasionally watch soccer tournaments here! This was my first time here, but it certainly won't be my last – every time I return from Belgium, a visit here is at the top of my list!

We were there as a group. After we finished our drinks, the waiter asked us to order a refill immediately or leave. I explained to him that we would reorder when everyone had finished. He then threatened to call his boss, who didn't show up. We then went to the boss ourselves to clarify the matter. He seemed friendly and as if he hadn't received any information about the situation. Beware of a 5'7" thin man with an accent who looks like he just celebrated his 15th birthday last week.

We were a group of eight people in the restaurant and were immediately addressed by the waiter with a rude voice. He pressured us to order immediately or leave. He even threatened to call the manager, who never showed up. When we explained that we wanted to order right away, he told us to order immediately or leave. By this point, five of the eight people had already had drinks, which the waiter skillfully ignored. We tried to have a neutral conversation with the waiter, but that didn't work. We never received an apology for his behavior, even after speaking to the manager. It's really disappointing because we usually enjoy coming here, but after this experience, today was our last visit. Such unfriendly and disrespectful service is unacceptable.

I'm sorry. But that was a total failure! Booked a table for 8:00 PM - arrived at 8:05 PM and was sent away. No words...

Large corner pub with billiard tables, simple, home-style cuisine

On the first evening I thought it was quite nice. On the second evening the small employee behind the counter was very unfriendly.

Service took their own tip and couldn't share the bill, which we had asked in advance, to which the answer was "yes." The toilets are completely full of stickers (Frankfurt stickers) and the smell was unbearable. Super unfriendly staff, just not friendly and annoyed the whole time. Too bad :(

Unfortunately not dog-friendly, I've never experienced this in my 9 years as a dog owner. The employee was still nice and friendly, but of course he has to adhere to the boss's instructions. We've recently started living around the corner and this should become our new regular place for evenings with friends. Too bad. Then we went somewhere else.

We are appalled by the unfriendly service we recently experienced. Despite reserving a table to watch football by telephone and being assured that there were enough seats available, we were treated extremely rudely when we arrived. Our two friends, who had been there an hour earlier, had taken a table. When the four of us arrived and explained that our friends were waiting for us at the back, the supposed “boss” loudly asked us to leave the restaurant with a raised hand. Our calm attempts to explain were ignored, and instead we continued to be shouted at with a raised hand. Our friends inside also tried to clarify the situation, but were treated just as unkindly and then sent out. From outside we could see that the table where we should have been sitting was completely empty. This outrageous behavior by the “boss” is completely incomprehensible to us. The rest of the staff has always been friendly, but the “boss” in question should urgently rethink his social behavior.

Always full. Nice people. Sometimes the waiter overlooks you and if you drink quickly you sometimes have to draw attention to yourself 😅

Absolutely rude staff. The host's arrogance is unbearable. Unfortunately, there are few suitable alternatives to watching the Bundesliga, which is why I have been a “guest” several times. Absurd, when football is on, only large beer is served, presumably to save travel, but you can't know that because no explanation is given when asked. Rude store, kicked out for no reason and treated disrespectfully, never again

The golden barrel is an institution in Flingern and has had very different quality under different operators. It has been under Yugoslavian (I know, it hasn't been for a long time) control for some time now, which in my opinion has led to an improvement in the still classic sports bar cuisine. You can also watch fantastic football, play pool or darts here. The big store is very well stocked, especially during football. Audience diverse and friendly. In summer there is also a small outdoor terrace. Price wise. Best place for pack watching far and wide

Das goldene Fass ist eine Institution in Flingern und hat unter verschiedenen Betreibern schon ganz unterschiedliche Qualität gehabt. Seit einiger Zeit steht es unter jugoslawischen (ich weiß, gibt's lange nicht mehr) Kontrolle was meiner Meinung nach zu einer Verbesserung der immer noch klassischen Sportsbar Küche geführt hat. Nebebei kann man hier fantastisch Fußball gucken, Poolbillard spielen oder Darts. Gerade zum Fußball der große Laden sehr gut gefüllt. Publikum bunt gemischt und freundlich. Im Sommer gibt es auch eine kleine Außenterasse. Preislich im Rahmen. Bester Platz zum Rudelgucken weit und breit

My absolute favorite bar in Düsseldorf! All the important football games are shown here, the staff are super friendly, and the prices are absolutely fair. I think it's particularly cool that you can play darts, billiards and table football here at really good prices. I haven't tried the bowling alley yet, but it's definitely still on my list. A top address for relaxed evenings!

I've known the shop since 1991. That was our meeting place after school (high school). We felt comfortable.

My favorite pub for years. Cozy, rustic, beautiful atmosphere. Place to feel good and have fun. Eating is always a pleasure, whether steak, schnitzel or pasta. Come often and with pleasure!

There are small dishes here that are typically found in every good restaurant. The food was delicious and fresh. I can definitely recommend taking a look

A coin exchange machine conveniently stands at the entrance of the back room so you can turn paper bills into coins. ⭐️The price for billiard is 4 euros for 24 minutes. When I got there at 6 pm on a Friday, it was still easy to find a free billiard table. By the time we left shortly before 9, tables were hard to get. ⭐️My turkey salad with house dressing is far beyond my expectation. I’ve never had turkey strips so tender and flavorful.

Went there for the Christmas party to go bowling. We were then relatively boldly asked several times by a person to exchange Bargaled for a Paypal transfer. We didn't want that and turned the person away. We were then banned from the premises by the bar owner. It was a nice Christmas party. Never here again.

We had booked the bowling alley and ended up standing in front of the locked door for 10 minutes before we could even get into the place. Service was beyond bad. We will definitely never come back!!!! Greetings to the owner who didn't have the courage to face us personally to clarify the matter.

Was there again with the old crew. The prices have risen extremely. But since you're not there every day, it's okay. Schnitzel is still top notch. The billiard tables are still the same as they were 20 years ago. Slightly rocked. Well, tournaments are not played here. But I think 2x2 euros for 24 minutes is a bit steep. It hurts somehow. Otherwise darts or table football as an alternative. As always, nice and good. And easily accessible by public transport. Driving there is a bad idea

The food is classic German food, nothing particular. I would like to refer to the most annoying thing that happened to us. Having just returned from the UK, where you could pay anywhere with your phone, I didn't have my physical card with me, not to mention a girocard (who cares about this anymore) and no cash. So, they wouldn't accept payments with Visa (debit card) only Giro. They sent us to go 2 blocks away to the bank and withdraw money, BUT the person who left should give them! their ID. I mean, where on earth have you ever heard that before? They had a POS, they could just have accepted a payment with Visa. Instead, they made us feel like thieves. Thank you very much for the German service. I will not come back again.

We had reserved a table to watch football. When we arrived, the owner didn't want to know anything more about it and unfortunately reacted very unfriendly. He said we were late, which was simply not true and was a lame excuse. I saw my name and time in the reservation book and brought it to his attention. We then left because the store was full. He will have made his sales that day. An absolute no-go and totally unreliable. Even though we have been here a few times, we will not do this again in the future.

You don't go here to eat - but to play billiards. Unfortunately, you will not be called back if you leave a reservation request on the answering machine. So you never know whether the billiard tables will suddenly be closed because a sporting event is being broadcast live and then the billiard tables will suddenly be closed - a real shame.

A great local sports bar and restaurant, the staff are original and do everything great. The food takes a bit of time when it's busy, but when it comes it's simply delicious. There are two TVs outside and over 10 inside with projectors. WE WILL BE BACK!

We waited 1 hour 15 minutes for 2 schnitzels. These came lukewarm with tasteless sauce and unsalted fries. Salt shakers and pepper are not at the table. Service was also not very friendly and intrusive. It's actually a shame - it used to be better.

Great local. Watch football here regularly. The schnitzel is unbeatably good! Pounded nice and thin, the fries are just as tasty, even the side salad is fresh and beautifully prepared. The waiters are always friendly and accommodating, even when it gets busy!

Stable sports bar with screens on every wall so that everyone can watch the games. Great cold mushrooms. Currently there are Guinness and Staropramen as international alternatives. There is also white and red wine, as well as champagne for the Fortuna championship celebrations. Large billiards and darts area, also well equipped with television. Ambience rating applies to sporting events; without rather plain. It's a shame that only schnitzel is served during broadcasts; Something from the pasta menu would be just as great.

Unfortunately, you have to agree with the previous statements. Since the change of ownership, the store has been run completely differently. A variable menu at the time with fresh, seasonal dishes had to give way to simple snack food. So much fat is used that the entire area at the counter is covered in clouds of fog. The interior appears unkempt, which also applies to the washrooms. Pungent smells of feces and urine at any time of the day. An interim cleaning during ongoing operations - especially at the weekend - would certainly be advisable. The very friendly and attentive servers at the time gave way to listless, sometimes intrusive and unfriendly servers who knew neither the menu, the prices nor the contents. What also became apparent after several visits were the recurring differences in billing. The servers apparently don't have a fixed table concept and keep getting "confused" when it comes to billing. Sometimes a line too many, sometimes the wrong unit price and as a customer you should always take this into account when adding up! A strange accumulation of coincidences. The “interim invoices” that you as a guest receive when you ask for the invoice are also funny. Only after a specific request is there a proper invoice with the usual fiscal information - almost reluctantly. Handing out interim invoices as final invoices can have no other reason than to generate income but not want to declare it. The auditor will have fun. It's a shame - the barrel was once a popular and frequently visited restaurant with a heart in the middle of Flingern. Unfortunately, these times are over.

Es ist zu teuer für zu langweilig. Warum? Burger ab 14,90 mit Fritten könnten ok sein. Könnten. Burger, bisweilen nur oberflächlich gebraten, gummiartig und mit zuwenig Innentemperatur um gar bzw. aufgetaut zu sein. Salat mit Mais⚡und süßstoffschwangerem Dressing. In absonderlichen Saucen ertränkte Schnitzel. Wasser zu 8 Euro die Flasche (das toppt für den Flaschenpreis jedes wirklich gute Restaurant und ist schon maßlose Übertreibung). Der Wirt selbst ist kaum das, was man sich als Gastwirt wünscht. Wünschen würde man sich Kundennähe, Serviceorientierung, Flexibilität, höflicher Umgang. Alles Fehlanzeige

Once upon a time... a football pub with heart and passion, delicious food and great service. An institution in the beautiful Flingern district. Since the change of ownership, this place has lost pretty much everything that once characterized it: the warmth, the personal, the friendly atmosphere. As a guest you are at best tolerated. As a family with three teenagers, we were recently denied entry to a Fortuna game. On the grounds that children are not allowed to enter an arcade... we are stunned and mourn the loss of a place where we could celebrate and share our passion for football.

I really enjoy being here! Positive: - very large shop, but in which you never feel lost - rustic charm but still always clean and well maintained - Front area with TVs and projectors for watching football/sports - rear area with 5 or 6!! Billiard tables, table football, seating areas, bar tables and other TVs on which sporting events are shown - Always very friendly and open service, no long waiting times even on Saturdays Neutral: - I haven't tried the food on offer yet, so I can't say anything about it other than that there is a regularly changing menu - I can't say anything about the bowling alley yet, but I think it's great that it's offered. Negative: - If you come to play billiards on Fridays or Saturdays, you have to be very lucky to get one or ask the groups in advance how long they will be playing for. Update March 24: Unfortunately it's getting more and more crowded, even during the week. Of course I'm happy for the owners, but unfortunately we had to go home during the week because there wasn't a single space left. However, I am aware that any fully-filled pub is better than an empty pub. In addition, the restaurant cannot logically simply be enlarged to offer more seats. - when Fortuna plays, unfortunately no other parallel game is shown and you usually don't get a seat because a lot of it is reserved (unfortunately understandable because it is the city's club) - Brinkhoff's Pils is served (a matter of taste).

I usually don't go out to "german" bars - only when I'm dragged along just like to this one. And I have to say that the atmosphere here, the people visiting and the staff are super cool and everybody seems super friendly:). You can pay by EC / debit here. Pool tables are not coordinated through staff, no waiting list, and "just see when a table becomes available." It's fun when the store is packed. The alternative darts are even more fun because the already cheapest darts available on the market are completely bent and the dartboard doesn't recognize every tenth hit + at least five stuck tips included. Plus a terrible sound system turned up to maximum and a small Altbier for €4.

Classically furnished sports bar with a chilled atmosphere. If you don't feel like playing darts, billiards or the bowling alley, you can simply eat something, drink something and enjoy a sports broadcast. I think it's positive that it never gets unpleasantly loud, even when the house is full. The service is attentive and friendly, you can't complain 👍🏻

So if the older gentleman is the owner, then goodnight. Something so unfriendly doesn't work. Accused us of lying. Sure, we cheat the waiter out of €2. Apparently they didn't put €4 into the pool table (it was €6 and a ball got wedged). I wouldn't have expected that there would be a discussion about €2. Too bad. We enjoyed being there every now and then.

The food came relatively quickly and the portions were large. Nevertheless, for the price I would have expected some fresh food and, for example, no ready-made sauce. Our honest answer to the question of how the food was didn't really interest us.

I used to enjoy watching football with the family in the Golden Barrel. Unfortunately, with the change of ownership, the store has apparently developed into a terribly unfriendly place. Absolutely family-unfriendly and without any understanding of local football passion. Today's golden barrel is a hypocritical shit shop that no longer has anything to do with the big, hospitable heart of the past. SHAME ON YOU!

Seems to be very hyped. We were there on a Friday. Card payment only from 20€ (for whatever reason...). A beer cost €4.20, which I was told was good prices. But the beer didn't taste good, so I drank better in the old town. We also ordered fries (unfortunately without salt) for around €5. The waitresses seemed very stressed, it was really busy and they seemed to be chronically understaffed here. The guests on site were strange and everyone seemed very reserved, even though there were a lot of young people, which was a shame. This meant it had more of a restaurant feeling than a bar feeling...

Top Studentenkneipe, super Service

Teilweise eine halbe Stunde + um Getränke zu bestellen. Sehr laute Musik. Essen sehr lecker, doch auch hier über eine Stunde gewartet.

Leider hat mich der Kellner nicht verstanden, da bei ging es um eine Essens Bestellung. Statt vier Teller gab es einen weniger. Somit habe ich was für meine Figur getan. Die Lokalität eignet sich gut für Sport gucken und auch mal ein Feierabendbier zu genießen.

Bedienungen wirklich IMMER unfreundlich, rempeln einen sogar an wenn man im Gang steht. Preise mittlerweile saftig. Leider bereue ich es jedes Mal hierher gekommen zu sein. Flingern hätte eine bessere Kneipe verdient !

Wurde von der Pizza Margherita nicht enttäuscht und der Service ist sehr gut. Wenn der Laden mal was voller ist kann es schon mal sein das man auf das nächste Bier schon mal etwas länger warten muss. Deswegen empfehle ich direkt zwei zu bestellen wenn man diese Gefühl nachempfinden kann. Das Ambiente ist sehr entspannt. Neben den Automaten hat das Fass noch Kicker, Dart und Billard zur Unterhaltung am Start. Langweilig wird einem nicht.

Naja. Coole Location. Man kann super Fussball schauen. Aber es ist am Ende einfach zu voll. Die arme tolle Kellnerin kann so viele Gäste am Ende nicht bedienen, somit sitzt man am Ende einfach auf dem trockenen!

Steht man an der Theke um ein Getränk zu bestellen. Der Kellner dreht sich mit seinem Getränk erst mal um. Das Telefon des Restaurants klingelt. Anstatt dass die zusätzliche Kellnerin meine Bestellung aufnimmt, kommt der Spruch „Ist für dich“. Bestellung wurde immer noch nicht entgegengenommen. So fühlt man sich wohl. 🤣

Wir kommen regelmäßig um Billiard und Darts zu spielen. Der Wechselautomat, um Scheine in Münzen umzuwandeln ist wirklich nützlich 👍🏻 Die Drinks sind lecker und preislich angemessen, bisher haben wir hier noch nicht gegessen. Das Essen hat bisher immer gut gerochen und ausgesehen! Unter der Woche kann man etwas entspannter spielen weil‘s dann nicht so voll ist, aber selbst am Wochenende ist die Menge noch aushaltbar.

Wir waren hier vor zwei Tagen mit einer Freundesgruppe und hatten eine wirklich tolle Zeit. Leckeres Essen, gemütliches Ambiente und toller Service. Große Auswahl an Getränken, sehr gutes Bier und es wird einem nicht langweilig, bei der Auswahl an Spielen (Billiard, Kicker etc). Ich kann es jedem nur empfehlen vorbeizuschauen. So einen tollen Laden findet man in Düsseldorf kein zweites Mal.

Great service, great food, if you become a regular, staff recognise you & make it feel more personal, calling you by your name, little touches like that make the experience so much better, definitely recommend for atmosphere
