A truly wonderful, old-fashioned inn. It boasts an excellent menu, which also caters well to vegans. Add to that very good, competent service under the guidance of a highly dedicated owner.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to try the food at the fancy restaurant. The older manager, after two minutes of completely ignoring me, left me standing in the doorway and then, after a quick once-over, curtly dismissed me. I don't mind being turned away, but I expect it to be respectful. I travel all over Germany and Europe, so you can trust my judgment... (By the way, regarding the outfit: jacket and shirt by P. Plein, trousers by Versace, and shoes by Armani X). I admit it's a bit colorful, but when I travel, I tend to dress more casually for lunch at a traditional restaurant. Maybe I'll get lucky sometime in this life... the goose was certainly tempting... Greetings from Mannheim

At any time of year – especially during the Christmas season – a very welcoming and passionately run restaurant with high-quality dishes and a warm atmosphere.

The food was good, and so was our waitress. Unfortunately, the restaurant manager was very unfriendly. Several family members were surprised by her manner, which became apparent at various points. There's definitely room for improvement in the overall service. We brought a cake and found it disconcerting that the cake ring was returned unwashed. Simple cleaning should be standard practice. It's also advisable to pay close attention to the bill. Furthermore, a bottle of wine was accidentally spilled. The manager blamed my child for this, even though neither my child nor the staff were at fault. Instead of asking if everything was alright, she immediately resorted to blame. We found this completely inappropriate. Addendum: I'm sure there will be counter-arguments. The fact is: the food was delicious, but the hostess was very unfriendly. I told her so directly on the spot. But there was no getting through to her. One has to be able to take criticism.

Highly recommended all around! The dining room is wonderfully traditional and truly cozy, and the service was very warm and welcoming. The food arrived very quickly and tasted absolutely fantastic! My parents, my husband, and I each had a seasonal dish with chanterelles. Exquisite!! The mushrooms were cooked to perfection, my husband's veal was incredibly tender and delicious, and my schnitzel was the best I've had in a restaurant in a long time. My parents had scrambled eggs with it, which were beautifully fluffy and cooked to perfection. As I said, for German cuisine, it's truly an absolute must-try! We'll be back! Often! Update: Our second visit confirmed the excellent impression from the first. This time, we tried the game menu. I can highly recommend the wild boar schnitzel; the overall combination was simply divine!

What a fantastic restaurant! It's definitely worth going out for a proper meal. From the truly professional and friendly service to the outstanding food, this restaurant is truly a gem in my opinion. Even the long journey is worth it.

Although the restaurant was fully booked for the evening, the manager managed to get us a table. The service was very courteous, attentive, and genuinely friendly. The food tasted excellent, and you can tell it's made with fresh, seasonal, and regional ingredients. The generous portions of the main courses prevented us from trying the delicious desserts. We'll make up for it on our next visit, but with a reservation. Thank you for the lovely evening.

As a family with two small children, we stayed at the Hotel zum Eichenkrug for one night from Saturday to Sunday – really just to sleep. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. Positive: The rooms were clean, tidy, and the beds comfortable. But: For €180, we got two separate rooms – without a connecting door. This meant Mom and Dad had to share so the kids wouldn't sleep alone – which, of course, is completely unacceptable. That's extremely expensive for a simple overnight stay without breakfast. Children's hotels with full board cost more, but the price is justified there, too. Not at all here. What's also not mentioned anywhere (but definitely should be): The building is extremely noisy. There are only seven rooms, but due to the construction, you can hear every noise. Our neighbors came around midnight, were very loud, and then turned up the music. I woke up and had to get up to knock and ask for quiet. The next morning, we tried to air the room, but the neighbors were sitting right outside smoking – all the smoke wafted into the room. Conclusion: It wasn't a pleasant overnight stay for us. It feels more like a small guesthouse than a hotel – and for the price, the overall package is simply not acceptable. We definitely wouldn't come back and unfortunately can't recommend it.

This restaurant was highly recommended to us. My girlfriend was so looking forward to fried potatoes... unfortunately, they were just sliced potatoes, slightly undercooked. No bacon, no onions! I had fresh vegetables (haha, it came from a bag) that were completely drenched in an artificial curry sauce. Everything tasted like it. When I pointed it out, the response was: Well, that's a matter of taste. Conclusion: Never again!

I stopped briefly while passing through and received a warm welcome. The food was truly excellent, as was the service. I definitely recommend this creative, excellent cuisine.

Absolutely delicious food and very attentive and proactive service. The food is of outstanding quality, and you can even have a good conversation with the owner during your meal. It was so delicious that I forgot to take pictures. Maybe next time.

The Eichenkrug team made my husband's special birthday an unforgettable experience. The food was excellent and everything from the starter to the dessert tasted delicious. Kudos to the kitchen! Our guests were thrilled, also by the ambience and the excellent service.

My personal highlight 10/10, a country inn with heart and history. And at least 2 vegan dishes on the menu. Extra requests are always taken into account. Courteous service without being intrusive. Thank you for your hospitality

If every restaurant met these requirements, you would no longer be able to decide where to go. But we are looking forward to the next visit.

The food was very good. Unfortunately, it was a bit pricey. I ordered a grilled platter, which tasted really good. Beautifully presented. However, the quantity was manageable for a hefty price. See menu.

The food is a delight at any time of the year! You should definitely try the desserts. The Swedish cup is incredibly delicious. The service is warm and extremely polite.

Aufgrund einer Familienfeier, sind wir mit 13 Personen im "Zum Eichenkrug" eingekehrt. Der Tisch war schön eingedeckt und die Räumlichkeiten, wie man es sich wünscht, von einem ehrwürdigen alten deutschen Restaurant. Der Service, war nett, kompetent und zuvorkommend. Nun zum Essen. Damit eine a la carte Bestellung erfolgen konnte, war eine Vorspeise zwingend erforderlich also wurde eine Hochzeitsuppe genommen, die von guter Qualität war (also ohne Maggi- Würze zubereitet). Folgende Gerichte kann ich beurteilen: Damwild-Keule mit Klöße u. Rotkohl; geschmacklich sehr gut. Wildscheinschnitzel in Printenkruste mit Steckrübenstroh u. Sellerie-Kartoffel-Püree; Das Wildscheinschnitzel war schlicht weg zu trocken (Vorbereitszeit zu lang?) Die Beilagen waren von guter Qualität. Hähnchenbrust Supreme mit Curry- Rahmgemüse und Rösti; Das Rahmgemüse war sehr gut und die Rösti selbstgemacht, die Hähnchenbrust war leider zu stark gesalzen. Das Cordon Bleu, die Grillplatte, wie auch das vegetarische Gerichte haben alle samt, ein gutes Feedback erhalten. Die Preise, für die Speisen und Getränke, waren angemessen. Bewerten würde ich den Eichenkrug, mit 3,5 Sternen (Gut).

We were here for the first time today and we really enjoyed it. The dining room is very cozy, the staff is warm and friendly, the selection of food is so good that it's difficult to decide and the taste was really delicious!

Small restaurant with vegan dishes. I was very positively surprised. The food was wholesome and delicious. The service was a bit undercooled at first, but then thawed. The ambience is not my cup of tea, but it is classic.

The two of us had dinner here for the first time today, it was simply excellent, as was the service and everyone involved was really nice and friendly and enjoyed their work. Nowadays it's pretty rare to find...

There were four of us and we were immediately greeted in a friendly manner and shown to the table. I was very thirsty and therefore very impatient when choosing a drink, but this was met with friendly understanding. My son and I chose a starter and a main course, and my wife and mother-in-law only chose a main course. First of all, a small greeting came from the kitchen with delicious white bread and 2 dips that were super tasty. I can hardly describe my main course. It was chanterelles with halibut and delicious potatoes and side dishes. (please forgive my forgetfulness) It was a real culinary delight. My son had tagliatelle with chanterelles etc. and he was extremely enthusiastic about the taste experience. My wife and mother-in-law also loved their food. The rest was even packed “to go” for my mother-in-law. My taste buds did a somersault when it came to the recommended dessert. Soooo, we have only been in Wedemark for 8 months and were recently in Eichenkrug within 2 weeks. We come from the middle of Hanover and haven't been able to enjoy such good German cuisine in ages...so you won't be able to get rid of us, dear Eichenkrug team. Thank you for the great food and the lovely hospitality.

We moved to Wedemark over two years ago and have been to Eichenkrug Essen several times since then. The food and service is exceptionally good. There is Duckstein on tap, delicious food and great dessert. Of course the price is a bit higher - price/performance is still very good. The vegetarian menu has also been expanded! We will be back. :)

Rustikales Ambiente- das sollte man halt mögen. Das Essen war gutbürgerliche Küche aber mit modernem Spin und sehr kreativen Ideen. Hat alles super geschmeckt, viele regionale Zutaten und eine saisonale Karte. Wir waren absolut begeistert und kommen gern wieder!

Sehr schönes Ambiente. Haben uns gleich wohl gefühlt. Waren zum Geburtstag dort, es gab ein Kalt und Warmbuffet. Das Essen war sehr lecker und der Nachtisch war sehr geschmackvoll. Die gebratene Ente mit Holundersoße muss ich hervorheben. Die Gastwirtin und die Bedienungen waren auch sehr zuvorkommend und höflich.

Super freundlich und äußerst aufmerksam das Personal. Sehr leckeres essen, top Qualität. 3 Hauptgerichte für Veganer in einem Landgasthof ist sehr gut, selten und es schmeckte sehr gut. Und auch für diejenigen die da noch Bedarf haben wird eine Lösung gefunden Heute gab es Stinte - waren sehr lecker und gibt es hier eher nicht in unserer Gegend. Schwiegereltern waren beide begeistert. Mein Cordon Bleu war das beste das ich seit langem gegessen habe. Und das alles zu bezahlbaren Preisen. Qualität gibt es halt nicht für 2,50€. Nachtrag von heute: neue Gerichte auf der Karte. Und alles perfekte Zusammenstellungen mit sehr hochwertigen Zutaten.

Vielen Dank für den wunderschönen Abend mit erstklassigen Essen,sehr netten und aufmerksamen Service. So etwas haben wir lange nicht mehr erlebt. Vorgewärmte Teller und Espressotassen,wie schön. Selbst gebackenes Dinkel-Bierbrot,dazu Hausgemachte Butter...ein Traum. Wir haben zum dritten Mal Anlauf genommen um endlich einen Tisch zu reservieren...mit Erfolg. Jetzt wissen wir auch warum und sind froh,nie aufgegeben zu haben einen Tisch zu bekommen. Diese positive Erfahrung macht Lust auf's wiederkommen...schließlich muss ich noch Crepes aus der Karte probieren! Nochmal Herzlichen Dank an ein tolles,kompetentes, freundliches Team.

Sehr leckere Deutsche Küche. Service super nett. Lohnt sich da Einzukehren. Vorspeise: kleiner panierter Hirtenkäse mit Knoblauchbrot und Salatbouqet. Hauptgang: 500gr. Spargel,Schnitzel,Kartoffeln und Soße. Super lecker👍

Liebevoll eingerichtetes Restaurant, welches sich den dörflichen Charme bewahrt und gleichzeitig eine ausgewählt gute Küche bietet. Ein aufmerksamer Service und, falls gewünscht, ein "Schnack" mit der Chefin runden diesen positiven Eindruck ab.

Die Qualität des Essens ist hervorragend. Zwei vegane Gerichte (zusätzlich Salate, Spargel) sind etwas wenig Auswahl. Die restlichen Gerichte sind sehr gut konzipiert. Kleine und spannende Karte. Schärfe definiert sich wohl auf den Land etwas anders, ob im Chili Krautsalat oder als Sambal zum Grillteller. Da dürfte es mutiger sein. Das Fleisch war perfekt gebraten. Aber ... Punktabzug: die angestellte Bedienung ist sehr sehr nett im Service. Die Besitzerin dagegen ist ein Besen. Sehr belehrend und dominant. Das hat uns alle sehr irritiert. Deshalb ein Stern Abzug. Die Inneneinrichtung des alten Hauses hat uns sehr gefallen. Wer es eher fancy möchte, ist hier aber nicht richtig. Wir fanden es stilvoll und gemütlich.

Ein sehr schönes Gasthaus. Wir waren jetzt des öfteren dort und wir wurden immer bestens bedient und das Essen war jedesmal der Hammer! Die Bedienung ist sehr aufmerksam und geht auf jeden Wunsch ein. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Ein sehr gemütliches Ambiente, wo man sich sehr wohl gefühlt hat. Das Essen ( Ganz mit klassischen Beilagen ) war sehr lecker. Wir kommen gerne wieder

Es war sehr schön und ich und meine Familie hatte gänsebraten mit Rotkohl und Kartoffelklöße,soße und dann noch Mohn Eis mit roter Grütze

Kurzfristig reserviert. Wenn auf der Karte steht scharf (Chili-Kohlrabisuppe) dann ist das auch so. Ein Freund, der gerne scharf isst, war begeistert. Auch unsere Suppe von der Wildkarte war leicht scharf und sehr aromatisch. Wildgerichte siehe Titel. Der empfohlene Wein passte super zum Wild. Abschluss mit Eis und selbst gemachtem Rumtopf b.z.w. Crêpe mit Calvados flambiert. Suuuuper! Leider habe ich wieder besseres Wissen einen Espresso genommen. Der erreicht leider nicht mal ansatzweise die Qualität des Essens. Alles andere war aber so gut das ich darüber nicht meckern will ;-) Die Hygienemaßnahmen werden in diesem Restaurant vorbildlich umgesetzt. Daran, wie auch an der Küche, können sich die meisten Restaurants ein Vorbild nehmen.

Einfach Perfekt....egal was man isst, es schmeckt immer......Das Essen ist besonders, schmackhaft und immer bestens abgestimmt. Einfach ein Genuss. Bestens zu empfehlen.

Sehr gut gegessen. Ich hatte ein Garnelenpfännchen als Vorspeise und als Hauptgang ein Süßkartoffel sin carne. Beides war sehr lecker. Die Wirtin und ihre Mitarbeiter sind ausgesprochen freundlich und zuvorkommend. Service wird hier noch groß geschrieben.

Schönes Lokal mit Seele. Die Speisen sind sehr lecker und saisonal abgestimmt. Gute Organisation. Wir fühlen uns hier sehr wohl und können das Restaurant nur weiterempfehlen.

Das Essen ist Gut und die Bedienung OK

Der Spargelsalat und die Spargelravioli waren wirklich sehr lecker und der Service sehr zuvorkommend. Auf der beschatteten Terrasse kann man es auch bei heißem Wetter gut aushalten.

Toller Abend mit leckerer deutschen Küche. Sowohl das Cordon Bleu als auch das vegane Pilzragout waren super. Zum Abschluss gabs leckeres Dessert mot Quittenkompott mit steirischem Touch. Person total freundlich und sehr aufmerksam.

Der Eichenkrug bot sich als Rast auf einer Radtour an. Geboten wurden bemerkenswert freundlicher Service und geschmacklich überzeugende Speisen „to go“. Der traditionelle Grünkohl und ein veganes Gericht mit Palmenherzen waren hervorragend. Resultat: Auch in ungewöhnlichen Zeiten eine absolute Empfehlung.

Eine interessante Speiseauswahl, nebst der Saisonkarte gab es auch noch eine Western-Karte. Gutbürgerliche Küche, mit grossen Portionen, für uns fast zuviel, so waren wir der freundlichen Bedienung dankbar, dass wir ohne Weiteres einen 'doggy-bag' bekamen und so am nächsten Tag auch noch von unserem Hauptgang profitieren konnten.

Es war alles Weltklasse Bedienung top Essen von Vorspeise , Wein bis Nachtisch super Vielen Dank für diesen tollen Abend 👏
