Great, classic village pub. We stopped in spontaneously and received a super friendly welcome and excellent service. Food 5/5 stars 🌟 The ambiance is typical for a village pub, but clean and well-maintained. We'll definitely be back!

We spontaneously got a table for 5, without a reservation beforehand, but we were also the only guests in the early afternoon. The ambiance matched the name (rustic, typical, clean), the focus here is on the food, freshly prepared in a pleasant amount of time. We all enjoyed it very much, the service was very friendly and a few small extras on the house rounded off the experience. We definitely recommend it!

We went there as a group for dinner and bowling. We were very satisfied with the food, the service, and the bowling alley. We'd love to come back.

Unfortunately, I can't rate the food because I didn't get it. I was there with a small group – I registered, by the way. After about 1.5 hours, the first people received their food. It took another half hour for everyone to get their food. By then, of course, the first people had already finished. The staff only noticed my cutlery was untouched when they were clearing the table. I then canceled my order. The place is a complete disaster, and I'm glad I was able to treat the whole thing like a comedy show. My sense of humor saved me from disappointment 🫣😅 I ordered a regular mixed salad as my main course. Someone else in the group, two tables away, wanted a salad with their main course. Neither the other person nor I know how their salads are served, and I'm not interested in who gets their meal. Your "service staff" already had a hard time serving everyone their food at lunchtime. Empty glasses, plates, etc. were neither noticed, nor cleared, nor were they asked if another order could be taken. This would not have happened with well-trained staff.

A nice, cozy village pub. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, though I personally found it a bit over-salted. The atmosphere was pleasant. We'd happily return if we're in the area.

Very friendly and attentive service; even the dog was given a water bowl right away. The food arrived quickly and was delicious! Also very nice were the two spoons for dessert, which were simply placed on the table without asking.

Limited parking is available. The ambiance was nice overall, but the service at our table of 10 people was not very courteous. They didn't pay attention to whether someone else might have wanted a drink. The neighboring tables, with a maximum of 4 people, were well served. They always had plenty on the table. The service here needs to be improved. Prices are OK, but on the higher side. The food was OK, but a bit oily. The portions could be a bit larger. We were there on a Friday around 5:30 p.m. The number of guests at the neighboring tables, who arrived later, was 6 people in total.

We had the tagliatelle with salmon and the rump steak; the food was excellent. The tomato soup and cream of mushroom soup were also very tasty. I can't think of anything negative. :) The staff were very friendly and attentive.

We just wanted a beer. This was the perfect place. No obligation to consume, etc. We received very friendly and prompt service.

Totally overwhelmed, food took forever (at least it was advertised), kids ate with their hands until the cutlery arrived. Free drinks saved the third star. Too expensive for mediocre snack food.

After a lovely hike through the heath, this was a very good end to the day. We had a very good dinner here.

Unfortunately, we didn't have a good experience with the service (unfriendly, slow, or overwhelmed). The schnitzel was good, but the fried potatoes were underseasoned and barely cooked. Overall, we had to wait a long time for everything (we eventually got the menus ourselves), the bread never arrived, and we waited over an hour for our food (a table that arrived after us had finished eating when ours arrived). And the room was very cold. We wouldn't come back again.

The service was new. Extremely friendly and attentive. The starter of goat cheese with honey was delicious. The salad was good and fresh. The lamb chops were okay. The beans were a bit burnt. Many dishes were out of stock. They offered various pasta dishes, but lasagna was out, as were various meat dishes, and saddle of lamb was out. Tiramisu, dessert, was out. Homemade lemonades were on offer. The lemonade was mixed with elderberry, so the lemon/lime mint leaves didn't have a chance to come through. Overall, a confusing experience. There's a traditional two-lane bowling alley. The decor is typical of an old German village pub. Clean and tidy. It's worth going. The price is still reasonable.

A true German village pub where you can enjoy delicious food; we love it... We received a friendly welcome and could choose to eat in the smoking area or in the other room. We chose the latter. There's plenty of choice on the menu. We were first served baguettes with sauces. After a while, our freshly prepared meals were served, delicious and more than enough. Finally, we enjoyed a glass of Ouzo. It's a shame it was our last day of vacation; otherwise, we would definitely have eaten there again!

I was just passing through and quickly grabbed a salad. The service was very friendly, the prices fair, and the food delicious. The atmosphere was exactly what you'd expect and hope for from a village pub :)

Hey everyone, here's another little review from Bonifatius... If any of you are ever near Insel (near Schneverdingen) and want to visit a nice, authentic country inn... You should stop here. A lovely village inn atmosphere awaits you, with friendly, attentive staff and a clear menu with something for everyone. (...with such an exuberant menu, you can be sure that a lot of it comes out of the fryer...) So, here at Dorfkrug Insel, you'll find freshly prepared dishes at a very reasonable price. I can recommend the farmer's breakfast (€14.50); ​​my wife enjoyed the tagliatelle with spinach in Gorgonzola sauce (also around €15). The various meat dishes at the neighboring tables all looked delicious as well. Before the main course, there was an unsolicited welcome from the kitchen with two homemade dips (one tomato, one garlicky), and after the meal, a serving of dips for those who wanted them. Both were free on the house. We're on a short vacation around the corner and stumbled in here purely by chance. We highly recommend the Dorfkrug Insel, because we really enjoyed it here. Honestly, I'm absolutely thrilled 😍 The Dorfkrug Insel in Schneverdingen is a real insider tip; I've rarely eaten so well. The fries were a lovely golden brown and super crispy on the outside. The fried potatoes were a dream, cooked to perfection, not greasy, simply perfect. And the steak… wow. Perfectly salted, tender as butter, it really couldn't be better. And the service? Simply fantastic. Super friendly, totally attentive, you immediately feel at home. You can tell the people here are passionate about what they do. Definitely five stars. If I could, I'd give more. I'll definitely be back 👏🔥

I've been to the Dorfkrug a few times and eaten there with my family. Most of the time, I noticed that the owner seemed a bit drunk. I wasn't particularly impressed with the food either. Sometimes it tasted really good, but other times the lasagna was still frozen inside. Otherwise, the staff was very friendly. The prices were reasonable, too.

We went there spontaneously, and everything was to our satisfaction. Great for a country inn. They even offered us a welcome greeting from the kitchen and a Quzo to aid digestion.

Rustic ambiance, very friendly staff. Armenian cuisine is also on the menu, wonderful; definitely worth trying.

Unfortunately, I can't contribute much to the Dorfkrug. We just sat outside and had a drink. The outdoor furniture was clean, but has definitely seen better days. The service was quick and friendly.

The food is always delicious no matter what I've eaten there so far, roulade, kale, lasagne, pasta there's nothing to complain about and it's definitely not frozen food, everything is fresh, and up until now I've always been able to pay with a card, which is not at all Problem. I remain loyal to the Dorfkrug, keep it up.

We went there for nostalgic reasons because I used to go there often with my parents and we weren't disappointed. It was indeed still nostalgic, 70s/80s style. But I think it's completely OK for a village inn. What I found less pleasant was the smell of smoke throughout the inn because the smoking and non-smoking areas are physically separated, but there is apparently no exhaust air and the doors between the two areas are open. The card, however, is funny. Not a page is without massive spelling errors. You have to try really hard to do this so poorly in times of autocorrect and spelling checkers. The food was OK. A little warmer would have been nice, schnitzels seem to be frozen goods. The service was good, quick and very friendly. EC card payment is rejected, unfortunately you only find out about this when you pay. You really want to wish the operator that he gets the hang of things and manages things more lovingly overall. I'm afraid he won't be able to last long otherwise. We are there regularly, but will no longer go there.

Since the restaurant only opened two weeks ago, there was only a slimmed down menu. But there was enough choice and the schnitzel was very large and tasty, and was even surpassed by the fried potatoes. There is still room for improvement, which we will check soon. After 4 months we ate there again and can say that it has gotten much better. A good menu that matches the price/performance ratio and everything tastes very good, gladly again.

We can (finally!) fully recommend the Dorfkrug Island again. We ate there twice and will definitely go there more often. The atmosphere is rustic and the hospitality is very nice. There is a menu but also daily changing offers on the boards outside. The food is consistently very tasty, we can particularly recommend the Carpaccio Cipriani Roll (like in Italy!), the salmon and both the rump steak and the turkey steak. Everything seems freshly prepared, is beautifully arranged and really tasty.

Even if you sit alone in the restaurant, you can expect more from the food. Lunch was like eating at home, the dessert was ONE scoop of ice cream and it was served carelessly in a bowl.

Urieger Dorfkrug with a friendly host and good food. We had Armenian liver and spaghetti, both dishes recommended as they were very tasty. Should we be in the area again, we won't have to search for long.

The meat on the grill plate was overcooked. The taste of the fat edge indicates frozen meat.

Rustic village inn, very friendly welcome, nice hospitality, also friendly welcome from the chef. During the meal he also asked us whether everything was OK. Yes, it was wonderful. Before that there was a greeting from the kitchen, consisting of baguette and 2 dips (garni and Mexican), then there was the gratinated goat cheese as a starter, very tasty, followed by the main courses: grilled platter, rump steak, Jägerschnitzel (schnitzel with mushrooms), veal liver Armenian style. Very good price and great food. You should try it when you are here.

Today I would like to update and confirm my very positive rating of the Dorfkrugs in Schneverdingen-Insel. The new tenant, Arsen, is a really excellent cook. He always prepares the food fresh and very tasty. We have now eaten our way through the menu quite a bit and always enjoy the varied dishes that he offers on additional menus. But there are also dishes that are not on the menu, such as a delicious currywurst or even a good pizza. Arsen prepares all of the dishes himself (due to a lack of available staff) and attaches great importance to quality and the satisfaction of his guests. That's why pizza is not the focus and not on the menu. But you can always ask about it. Quality instead of quantity. This is very commendable. We are pleased that in Insel we have a great place to go for a good meal or just a beer outside or inside, at the table or at the bar, in a pleasant atmosphere.

It was our first time at the Dorfkrug and we really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is modern and there are many tables where you can sit either inside or outside when the weather is nice. The drinks were brought quickly by the friendly staff and the food was also delicious.

The food was very tasty. Fried potatoes, schnitzel, fish, everything was great. You have to like the homemade potato salad. It's made with tomatoes, if you don't like them, like me, you have to eat something around it. But the taste is great. All in all, quiet location, nice people, good German food.

We had the best schnitzel here in a long time. And our son had super delicious homemade chicken nuggets. Because it was so good, we went back a second time and everything (schnitzel, herring, nuggets, tomato soup, baked potato) was freshly prepared and very good. The landlord is very hospitable and child-friendly. You can sit outside (but facing the street). TOP price-performance ratio. Absolutely recommended - if we go on holiday again we would be happy to come back.

Das Essen war sehr gut. Wir hatten alle ein Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln. Dazu gab es einen Salat. Alles war extrem lecker. Nur das Essen hätte von uns volle 5 Sterne bekommen. Was uns allerdings nicht gefallen hat war das Ambiente. Es war rustikal eingerichtet aber keineswegs gemütlich. Es hat die ganze Zeit tierisch gezogen. Die Tische standen auch sehr eng. An dem Tisch wo wir zuerst saßen, saß man auf der einen Seite im Eingang der Tür. Am zweiten Tisch mussten wir einen Stuhl austauschen, da dieser ziemlich gekippelt hat. Der Service war ganz nett. Normal gut.

This is a traditional German restaurant along a byway in the Luneburger Heather park area. The decor is 1950s or 1960s and is about 1 year into new ownership. The owner served us and the food was excellent. The asparagus was cooked to the exact point and the pork schnitzel with fried potatoes were well cooked. We will be returning soon. The only drawback for me was encountering cigarette smoke upon entering the Restaurant. As an asthma sufferer, I would normally leave but we entered the non-smoking room and shut the door at which point I was comfortable.

Urgemütlich war es im Dorfkrug. So eine richtige Dorfkneipe. Von aussen eher unscheinbar, waren wir drinnen um so überraschter. Wir waren aufgrund positiver Bewertungen im Internet dort und wurden keinesfalls enttäuscht. Das Esssen war wirklich super. Das Rumpsteak war ebenso lecker wie das Hähnchensteak. Auch in den Bratkartoffeln schmeckte man, dass hier jemand mit Leidenschaft kocht. Es ist eine kleine , aber völlig ausreichende Karte. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Wir freuen uns schon darauf, bald wieder zu kommen.

Waren das erste Mal im Dorfkrug. Gemütlich eingerichtet. Wir haben uns direkt wohl gefühlt. Getränke und Speisen kamen sehr schnell. Alles war lecker und die Portionen von der Größe her angemessen. Speisen alle frisch zubereitet. Kein TK, was will man mehr. Die Preise sind sehr gut Perfekter Service Wir haben bestellt : Wiener Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln Jägerschnitzel mit Pommes Rumpsteak/englisch mit Bratkartoffeln Cola, Weißwein und Weizenbier Alles super, wir kommen gerne wieder.

Man wird von einem sehr freundlichen Team erwartet, die Karte ist zwar "klein" aber jeder findet etwas leckeres. Die Fleischgerichte waren auf den Punkt gebraten. Der Gastraum vermittelt das "Flair" von einem Dorfkrug. Wenn wir wieder in der Gegend sind kommen wir sehr gern wieder.
