I can only review the restaurant, but it truly deserves high praise. There were ten of us. All the dishes looked lovingly prepared, and everyone enjoyed their meals. I highly recommend the restaurant's cuisine. You can enjoy truly exquisite dining here. I would gladly return.

We've been here for the 4th time 👍 It's always very nice. The rooms are very nice. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious. We had dinner at "Zum braunen Hirschen" and it was a thoroughly enjoyable visit! The attentive and friendly service was particularly noteworthy, making our stay very pleasant. The country schnitzel with golden-brown fried potatoes was a real treat – crispy, hearty, and perfectly seasoned. You can taste the quality and attention to detail that goes into the cooking here. The prices are a bit above average, but absolutely reasonable for the quality and service offered. The rustic ambience completes the experience – ideal for a relaxing evening with good food. We'd love to come back!

I ate a first-class venison goulash with dumplings and red cabbage. I could easily become a repeat offender.

We were only there for dinner. What do you mean by "only"? The food was delicious, the service was exemplary, and the menu offered a nice selection that wouldn't offend vegetarians. I usually drink beer in this area, as the wine list often feels like a meager and sad thing to me. But here I enjoyed my well-chilled Pinot Blanc. There is, however, one tiny niggle. My wife's red wine, actually a very good choice, was too warm. Unfortunately, this is true of many establishments that serve red wine by the glass. Even self-important 5-star hotels can't get this under control. And unfortunately, many people were posing on the street with their smelly, rattling vehicles. But that's not the landlord's fault. Conclusion: Highly recommended

Wir waren als Kita-Team im Zum braunen Hirschen zu Gast und möchten gerne unsere Begeisterung teilen. Bereits beim Eintreffen spürten wir die besondere Atmosphäre: Das Restaurant war gut besucht, trotzdem wurden wir herzlich empfangen und der gesamte Abend verlief äußerst angenehm. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir den exzellenten Service, allen voran Frau Tominaj. Trotz des vollen Hauses nahm sie sich immer wieder Zeit, nach uns zu schauen, freundlich nachzufragen, ob alles in Ordnung sei, und uns rundum bestens zu betreuen. Diese aufmerksame und gleichzeitig unaufdringliche Art haben wir sehr geschätzt. Auch kulinarisch hat uns der Abend vollkommen überzeugt: Die Speisen waren hervorragend zubereitet, liebevoll angerichtet und von hoher Qualität. Ebenso konnten die Getränke auf ganzer Linie begeistern und rundeten das genussvolle Erlebnis ab. Für uns war es ein wunderschöner gemeinsamer Abend, an dem wir uns rundum wohlgefühlt haben. Man merkt, dass hier mit viel Engagement und Herzblut gearbeitet wird. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder und empfehlen das Zum braunen Hirschen wärmstens weiter.

We were guests at Zum braunen Hirschen as a daycare team and would like to share our enthusiasm. As soon as we arrived, we sensed the special atmosphere: The restaurant was busy, yet we received a warm welcome, and the entire evening was extremely pleasant. We would particularly like to highlight the excellent service, especially from Ms. Tominaj. Despite the full house, she always took the time to check on us, politely ask if everything was okay, and provide us with the best possible service. We greatly appreciated this attentive yet unobtrusive manner. The evening also completely impressed us from a culinary perspective: The food was excellently prepared, lovingly presented, and of high quality. The drinks were equally impressive and rounded off the enjoyable experience. For us, it was a wonderful evening together, where we felt completely at home. You can tell that the work here is done with a lot of commitment and passion. We would be happy to return and warmly recommend Zum braunen Hirschen.

A real feel-good hotel – absolutely recommended! I was in Bad Driburg at the Hotel zum Braunen Hirsch for work and will definitely be back! The family-run hotel is centrally located, but still offers plenty of parking spaces. The rooms and bathrooms are modern, clean and comfortably furnished. There's even a hairdryer and toiletries available in the bathroom - great service! The breakfast buffet is varied and delicious, and the freshly brewed coffee is a real highlight. In the evening I ate in the hotel's restaurant - a small but very tasty menu, and everything was fantastically prepared. I would particularly like to highlight the friendly, attentive staff - you really feel welcome here. A hotel with heart and quality – clear recommendation!

Hervorragendes Abendessen! Service prompt schnell und super freundlich. Zum Essen. Umbestellung Sonderwünsche etc würden mit einem kurzen klar können wir das so machen. Vorspeise Burrata mit Tomaten. Einziger Kritikpunkt. Es hatten ein zwei Tomaten mehr sein dürfen, oder der Burrata etwas kleiner. Geschmacklich toll. Bei mir ein Kalbsschnitzel. Das Schnitzel einfach wunderbar. Tolle Panade und hervorragende Fleischqualität. Beilagensalat mit einer leichten Säure. Sehr rund. Bratkartoffeln sehr lecker. Alles frisch zubereitet . Es war mir ein Fest,und ich werde es wiederholen. Tolles Essen tolle Gastgeber

Good rooms, good food = a good time

We had dinner at the brown Hirschen and were absolutely thrilled! The food was simply delicious. I don't think I've ever eaten such delicious, tender venison goulash. Everything was lovingly prepared and looked great. The waitresses were very friendly and attentive.

Wij hebben hier goed gegeten, en alleen een hoofdgerecht genomen. De herten goulash en de runderrollade waren heerlijk, en voorzien van de passende garnituur (rode kool en andere groenten onder andere). Vriendelijke bediening. De wijn was ook prima.

I recently had the pleasure of eating at the Zumbraunen Hirschen restaurant and my visit was a complete success. As soon as you entered the restaurant, you were struck by the warm, inviting atmosphere. The stylish furnishings with nice accents created a pleasant atmosphere. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The menu offered an excellent selection of dishes that were high quality. The steak in particular was a 10/10. In terms of price, the restaurant is in the upper midrange, but the quality of the food absolutely justifies the cost. Overall our visit was a wonderful experience. If you want to enjoy authentic cuisine in a cozy atmosphere, this is the right place for you. We'll definitely be back!

I can't rate the room because I only ate something. I had the country schnitzel with fried potatoes and a salad as a starter. The food was truly fantastic, and I wish I had a restaurant like this where I live. The service is friendly, and every request is catered to. If I weren't here for rehab, but were living here, I would definitely be a regular. I also like the decor; it's nice and cozy.

The Hotel zum Braunen Hirsch is a family-run hotel. It is centrally located but has enough parking spaces. The rooms and bathrooms are modern. A hairdryer and toiletries are available in the bathroom. Breakfast is offered in buffet form. The coffee is freshly brewed and tastes excellent. In the evening we were able to choose our meal from a small but fine menu in the attached restaurant. And it tastes fantastic. Everyone is very friendly and attentive. This was our second time staying at the Brauner Hirsch and we would love to come back

It was okay there. What really annoyed me, however, was that my whole room vibrated when the dishwasher(?) was running downstairs. Shops and pizza shops are close by and within walking distance

My stay at the “Zum Braunen Hirschen” hotel-restaurant was a real highlight! As soon as you enter the house, you immediately feel the warm and inviting atmosphere, which is characterized by the loving furnishings and attentive service. The historic appearance of the building combines perfectly with modern comfort, so that you feel completely at home in an extraordinary ambience. In the restaurant, regional specialties and creative dishes pamper the palate, accompanied by an excellent selection of wines. A perfect address for a relaxing stay with a culinary highlight. The last 5-star review of 2024. I booked a single room at the end of the year. Freshly renovated. Everything was there. Very clean. But the five stars are ultimately for the fantastic service and the intelligent exchange with the landlady and manager at the lavish breakfast buffet. I get the impression that a visit to the restaurant rounds off the stay. What appeared on the ten plates and on the menu was appetizing regional cuisine with a Mediterranean influence.

Room small but nice (clean) Breakfast buffet still has a lot of room for improvement. Service at breakfast wasn't great either. If you still wanted coffee you had to look for it. The neighboring table was not cleared even though the guests left an hour ago. 20 euros for the mediocre breakfast is definitely too much for a booked breakfast.

We stayed here overnight on our hike on the Eggeweg. We got a beautiful room in this old half-timbered house, a very tasty dinner, spare ribs and chanterelles and wonderfully cold Detmold beer. The service is very friendly. Simply great.

A small and beautiful hotel in the middle of Bad Driburg. The breakfast buffet meets the standards of modern hotels. We have been meeting there for several years to ride motorcycles together and are always warmly welcomed. The evening menu is not overloaded and everything we were served was appropriate and good in price and quality. I'm already looking forward to next year. Perhaps not suitable for those who are very sensitive to noise. There is a church opposite the hotel and the bell rings every 15 minutes at 7 a.m.... Otherwise quietly located on a traffic-calmed street.

Comfortable, welcoming place equipped with everything needed for your needs. The food is great, the people working are kind, prepared and extremely professionale overall. What else could you ask for? Reccommended 5/5

As a rehabilitation patient, I invited my family to dinner in Bad Driburg. Since I like good home-style cuisine, which is slowly dying out, the only option was the hotel and restaurant “Zum Braunen Hirschen”. The location is very inviting from the outside. The dining room is well laid out and very comfortable. When the weather is good you can also sit out on the terrace. The lunch menu is manageable and actually has something for everyone. Of course there are also extras for children and those who have other wishes. We only had one main course. But the quantity was sufficient. All dishes ordered were of the highest quality. Very tasty and perfectly seasoned. The cook knows his or her craft. A big compliment to the kitchen. Since everything was excellent, I can't highlight any dish. The service is very nice, The prices correspond to the quality. Thank you very much for this achievement. A perfect lunch. I'll be eating chanterelles again greeting Gerd Wilhelm

I can't rate the rooms. Restaurant only. Enjoyed the fresh, excellent food outside under the protective parasol in the beautiful weather today. Including the greeting from the kitchen. Nothing tastes like packaging or convenience. The only barrier-free access to the toilet is 2 entrances and 7 steps in the interior. But that seems to happen throughout the city center. A successful end to a beautiful day with courteous, friendly staff and delicious dishes.

I came across this hotel by chance for a weekend with my wife. We were very satisfied. There is nothing to complain about at all. Rooms in the very old house are modern and functional. Everything is very clean. Breakfast is unparalleled.

Spareribs satt für unschlagbare 19,90€ inclusive anschließender Magenschmerzen. Der braune Hirsch wäre nach dem Aufwachen fast in meiner Hose gelandet, hat sich dann aber doch in der Kloschüssel ergossen. Ich war leider nicht der Einzige der die Nacht nicht schlafen konnte. Service und Ambiente im Lokal waren aber sehr gut. Ich würde noch mal versuchen.

I'm writing a review of the excellent food in the restaurant here. I didn't have an overnight stay in the hotel. Today I ate fresh asparagus with an excellent hollandaise sauce, boiled potatoes and a perfect veal schnitzel. Everything tasted very tasty. There was also a tasty, dark Detmold country beer. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. I'll try to eat here again 😋😋😋.

The owner and staff are super friendly

In March 2024 I was accommodated in a rehabilitation facility in Bad Driburg. Halfway through the time, my visitor and I wanted to go out for a really good meal. As we strolled through the city center, we noticed the hotel-restaurant “Zum Braunen Hirschen”. When we studied the menu, we immediately had an appetite for the game dishes on offer and (luckily) reserved a table for the same evening. We were greeted in a remarkably friendly manner and shown to our table. The restaurant was already very busy at this time; So the reservation from the morning was not a mistake. The menu was very clear, but very interesting game dishes (made in-house) were offered. During our stay we were very looked after, the wine was regularly topped up and people also asked if everything was OK. Some personal words were also exchanged. I don't need to write anything about the quality of the food because the dishes were top notch. For us it was a very successful and wonderful evening. After a week I spontaneously booked another table; this time for myself alone. Here, too, I was looked after as if I were a regular guest.

My husband and I ate there for the first time last Friday (unannounced!) and were thrilled... ...card exactly to our taste ...Service attentive and calm ...The food was a delight ...The prices are reasonable My husband liked it there so much that he booked a room for the coming weekend because I was staying for a while Bad Driburg will stay. ...and he went out to eat again today at “Zum Braunen Hirschen”! ....the lucky guy!

Spent 3 nights in this hotel. The location is great. Our very nice and large room (including a small kitchen) was very clean. The bathroom had enough storage space and a large shower. The staff is friendly. Unfortunately, after the (very good) dinner we had to wait forever for the bill to be handed over. After 20 minutes we went to the counter and paid there. The breakfast is good and sufficient. However, if you want a scrambled or fried egg, you have to ask the employee about it; she didn't offer it herself. And there was another problem: all the flies! Unfortunately, some foods, such as jam, fruit, or muesli, are not covered, so we decided not to include them. When asked about it, it was dismissed as being due to the current climate. Our suggestion to cover vessels during this time was acknowledged with a shrug. Although there is still room for improvement in terms of service, we had a lovely stay.

We are excited. I call myself a problem case because I am lactose intolerant and have an onion allergy. I don't think I've ever received better service than here. Even though the restaurant was full, the boss came to me personally and clarified my order with me. And then my food came and it was bombastic. I've rarely eaten in a more relaxed way and I can't remember the last time I was able to enjoy something so delicious. We would be happy to come by again

We enter the restaurant on a Monday evening without a reservation. Because all tables are booked, we’ve to wait at their bar with a drink and take a first look at the menu. After a 20 minute wait, we get a nice table in the opposite of the bar. Because we ordered our dinner at the bar before entering the table, it was only a short wait for the food. Unfortunately my girl don’t get her ordered veal schnitzel - the server noted this, when she brings the plate. My girl has now to wait for her fav dinner item with a big side salad, meanwhile I can start with my rack of ribs (Monday dinner special at this restaurant). After a short wait for my girl, the dinner experience can start for her, too. Veal Schnitzel: two big breaded schnitzel comes with homemade fried potatoes, a cranberry Marmelade and a big mixed green side salad = 5* Rack of Ribs: one rack comes with homemade fried potatoes (my choice), a small glass of mixed salad and two dippings. The ribs are falling off the bone, but the sauce does not meet my taste. The dippings are - in my eyes - a mistake for ribs: they need to changed for a good homemade bbq sauce! Overall: 3,5* Service: nice greeting after we entered the fully booked restaurant; we’ve to wait at the bar and get the menus and a drink. After we get our table, they bring out the wrong schnitzel for my girl. After all, nobody asked for another drink or a dessert. It was not easy to catch our server for getting the check, too. Overall: 3,5*

Das Essen im Restaurant ist phantastisch. Allerdings wurden wir nach dem Essen quasi nicht mehr bedient. Nach langer Zeit mit leeren Gläsern haben wir den Abend vorzeitig beendet und sind gegangen. Bezahlen mussten wir an der Theke - das geht gar nicht.

Zu den Zimmern kann ich nichts sagen, war dort Essen und es war sehr lecker. Wirklich tolle Küche, kleine Karte die dafür sesonal und regional.

Wir hatten heute ein Familienessen mit 8 Personen plus Kind. Service, Lokal, Essen: alles absolut zu empfehlen 👌🏼 natürlich ist es im Lokal etwas lauter, wenn alle Plätze belegt sind. Das ist aber normal und wer damit nicht umgehen kann, muss eben zuhause bleiben. Ich war (zum wiederholten Mal) absolut zufrieden. Gerne wieder ☺️

Gemütliches Restaurant (im vorderen Bereich) mit außerordentlich freundlichen, hilfsbereiten Mitarbeiterinnen. Obwohl es total voll war, hatten sie immer einen Blick für jeden und waren bei Wünschen zur Stelle. Das Essen ist kulinarisch, aber auch optisch eine Klasse für sich: Hervorragend!!!

Schönes Lokal, gute Bedienung, gutes Bier

Wir waren mit vier Freunden im Braunen Hirschen zu Gast. Die Speisekarte ist klein und Saisonal gehalten. Vorab gab es etwas Baguette mit Bärlauchdipp. Als Vorspeise habe ich ein phänomenal gutes Tatar mit geröstetem Graubrot und einem kleinen Salatbouquet im knusprigem Brotring bestellt. Das Tatar war saftig, fleischig und perfekt abgeschmeckt. Die Portion war für eine Vorspeise sehr groß und hätte fast als Hauptgang durchgehen können. Was mir persönlich sehr gut gefallen hat. Zum Hauptgang gab es dann Hirschragout mit hausgemachten Knödeln, Rotkohl und pochierte Birne. Das Hirschragout war zart und hatte einen feinen Geschmack. Die Knödel waren bei diesem Gericht mein persönliches Highlight. Die Konsistenz war absolut perfekt. Von außen knusprig durch die Semmelbrösel-Butter, innen zart und weich. Insgesamt ein sehr stimmiges und ausgewogenes Gericht. Der Service war selbstverständlich sehr Gastfreundlich, zuvorkommend und Aufmerksam. Vielen Dank an das ganze Team für den schönen Abend.

Familientreffen .... Das Essen war perfekt! Der Service super und sehr aufmerksam. Man merkte, das dort ein Team arbeitet welches Spaß an ihrem Beruf hat. Wir waren letztes Jahr auch schon dort und der Eindruck von damals hat sich dieses Jahr bestätigt.

Die liebste Menschen sind dort am arbeiten Zimmer und essen Vorzüglich. Bin oft wegen der Arbeit dort einquartiert.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich, das Zimmer war sauber und das Essen hat ausgezeichnet geschmeckt. Ich werde beim nächsten Mal auf jeden Fall wiederkommen
