Zum Alten Fischerhaus in Petershagen

We were at the Schifferhaus on Sunday, July 6, 2025. We had a €40 voucher from the end of 2023 that they no longer accepted. As a gesture of goodwill, we felt they could have accepted at least half. My girlfriend's meal contained a 2cm piece of plastic. Even then, they just said "thank you." It's a shame that a long-time customer is treated like this.

The food was truly delicious. I had a rump steak, which was cooked to perfection (medium), served with delicious herb butter and a super-delicious salad, and I also chose a baked potato. My friends had burgers, which were also delicious, and no side dishes because the burger was quite large. The waiters were very friendly and on the ball. It was very busy, so a few minor mistakes were made, but nothing they couldn't correct with their friendly approach.

The waiters there seem to be completely overwhelmed. We had to wait a very long time for our order to be taken. Several waiters repeatedly walked past me and my companion without asking if we wanted to order something. The waitresses all looked very grim and were extremely unfriendly at first. As the evening progressed, their mood improved somewhat. The table was dirty, with dead flies on the table, which was very unappetizing. When I asked for the table to be wiped, it was done. The quality of the food is nothing special, it's OK. All in all, I am very disappointed with the restaurant. I would not eat here again. I was not impressed by the service, the cleanliness, or the food.

This is my fourth time here and I've been very satisfied each time. The food is delicious, the prices and portions are reasonable in my opinion, and the beer is ice cold. There's a large selection of beers, and the staff and owner are friendly and helpful. The beer garden has a great location.

Today we were once again at the best fish restaurant far and wide along the Weser River👏 and, of course, ate fish again. Three kinds of fish (sea bream fillet, redfish fillet, and sea bass fillet). Our service, Angel Anja, once again, served us exquisitely and anticipated our every wish. The highlight was the chain grease from the belly button! High-end culinary delights😂🤣It's always amazing here. Great team, great food, great location...always happy to come back 👏🙏👏and highly recommended to anyone who wants to eat truly amazing fish 🥘🐠🥘🐟🎣🥘

Not necessarily. The fish was cooked too long, I got regular beer for a non-alcoholic Alster, and it was unnaturally loud. You don't need to go back.

Yesterday, two of us spontaneously went there for lunch. We opted for the asparagus menu and were delighted by the portion size and the delicious taste. The very friendly service and relatively short wait time also convinced us; we'll be back.

Eaten here often and never been disappointed. The chefs and the service know their craft. You can also stay outside or in the “winter garden”. We'd love to come back. Highly recommended.

We became aware of the restaurant because of the good reviews here and went there at short notice. Despite preparations for the evening event, we were able to choose a table and have lunch. Our service was very nice and friendly, as was the entire team that was present. The selection of food was very good, the portions were large. Unfortunately we didn't manage to do everything; upon request, everything was packed up to take away. When our car unfortunately broke down, two young men were quickly summoned to help by a service person. We can only recommend the Schifferhaus in all respects. If we are in the area again, we would be happy to come back, but then without a car breakdown…

Nice, cozy + just good! Yesterday we were “on site” with 6 people, food and drinks were delicious and served quite quickly. Special requests were also responded to in a friendly manner. This is how gastronomy works - keep it up. See you next time! The only point of criticism: soft drinks only in 0.2L bottles? Not very sustainable + guest-friendly --> that could be better!

We were outside in the beer garden today! Here you will find a beautiful ambience and can look out over the Weser cycle path. The fried fish with baked potatoes and a great side salad and also the kibbeling with fries were very tasty! Great portions for a fair & very reasonable price! Where is this still available today? Definitely here! We'd love to come back!

The Schifferhaus serves good home-style cooking, everything prepared fresh and very tasty. The price-performance ratio is good and very fair. The beer selection (freshly tapped!) is very good, there is even Guinness 😅 The fish dishes are varied and the fries are simply unbeatably delicious!!! Definitely worth a visit 👍

We had a meeting of our graduating class here and the atmosphere was great. Delicious draft beer, friendly service and the food (without pre-ordering) didn't come too quickly either. Everything speaks for a good shop. Gladly again.

In short: top food. I was very surprised to return after 30 years to the once smoke-filled pub where I played billiards as a teenager. Not only were the fries absolutely perfect, but also the vegetarian burger with red cabbage patty. Keep it up! I look forward to my next visit home – and to you.

We've just eaten some super tasty gruel with fried potatoes etc. and a really great cheeseburger with crispy fries. Special requests were gladly taken into account. Everything perfect. The restaurant is very cozy and lovingly furnished and the beer garden is also great. Very friendly staff. The fillets of sea bream and sea bass with fried potatoes were a poem. The salad was equally delicious.

We wanted lunch at 1 p.m. The beer garden outside was completely empty, and there was no one inside the restaurant either. There were 4 people sitting at 2 tables in the winter garden. A small table for two at the entrance was free, but there was a strong draft from the door. So we sat down at a table for four and waited for service. When she came she made it clear to us that we were not allowed to sit with two people at a table for four. ??? As I said, the store was empty and nothing was reserved. We then went and had a very good meal in another restaurant in town. We won't be coming back. This can also scare away your guests.

A surprisingly wonderful discovery Although the small street that leads to the restaurant doesn't seem very inviting at first glance, the Zum Alten Fischerhaus turns out to be a real gem. From the moment we walked in we were struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The furnishings are tasteful and convey a cozy, traditional atmosphere without appearing old-fashioned. What really made the evening special, however, was the excellent service. The staff was extremely friendly, attentive and accompanied us through the evening with a smile. The food was fantastic! The green beans with bacon were fresh, perfectly seasoned and a great start to a delicious main course. The beef roulade dish with red cabbage, pear and cranberries was not only visually appealing, but also outstanding in taste. The flavors harmonized perfectly with each other and left nothing to be desired. Finally, a wonderfully strong espresso rounded off the culinary experience. Overall, a great evening at a restaurant that we will certainly visit again. A clear recommendation for anyone looking for excellent cuisine in a charming ambience!

Today I was in Petershagen for dinner in the restaurant "Zum Alten Fischerhaus", the restaurant is located on Schifferstrasse, not far from the Weser cycle path. The very cozy restaurant "Zum Alten Fischerhaus" also offers fish dishes, but there are also a number of other dishes to choose from, there should be something for everyone. A beer garden with a lighthouse completes the concept, a nice option in summer temperatures. I ate beef roulades with a delicious sauce, plus red cabbage and boiled potatoes. I really liked the food I really enjoyed the restaurant “Zum Alten Förster”. 🙏🙏🙏💕💕💕

We were there on Sunday lunchtime. The service was friendly but overwhelmed because the restaurant was very full. We waited 20 minutes for drinks and 70 minutes for food. The food was good and plentiful, but waiting 70 minutes without a small house starter and 20 minutes for mini small glasses is not okay. At the end we also had to wait 15 minutes to pay. We won't come back. Obviously there is a lack of staff.

Overall it was a nice location. It was easy to sit. However, unfortunately the food wasn't all good. Pike perch fillet still had a lot of bones, unfortunately the pork medallions were dry. I thought my chanterelles were very good and my sea bass was quite good so far, although unfortunately it was relatively dry and not translucent. The service was friendly but you always had to call.

The kibbelinge were a joke for the price, the ambience is ok, we thought it was overpriced. Kibbelinge consisted of 5 elongated noble fish sticks decorated decoratively. Without dip. More appearance than reality

Overall it was nice there. The service was also friendly. My chanterelles were very tasty 😋 and my sea bass was also good so far. However, I was expecting a thicker fillet that would also be glassy. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. The fried potatoes were good too. However, the pork medallions with me were dry.

I ate a cheeseburger, tasted good but a bit expensive. I actually really liked the beer garden, unfortunately Mallorca/Ballermann/Apres Ski music was playing the whole time. Not very loud but somehow completely inappropriate. Otherwise clear recommendation but not exactly cheap.

Wir haben am Pfingstsonntag mit einer Gruppe von 15 Personen abends dort gegessen. Das war ein wirklich schöner Abend, den wir alle in sehr guter Erinnerung behalten werden. Leckeres Essen, toller Service und total supernette Gastgeber. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet und keiner musste lange warten, so dass wir alle zusammen essen konnten. Hut ab; und das bei unterschiedlichen Gerichten 👌🏻. Das wurde nur noch von der absolut sympathischen Bedienung getoppt; mit Witz, Charme und Esprit wurden wir unterhalten. Einfach nur klasse; da können sich einige etwas von abschauen. Nochmals 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

A chance hit that was absolutely worth it! For anyone who is passing through and wants to eat off the highway - an absolute insider tip! We really wanted to enjoy a relaxed meal and were happy to go off the standard route. Here we were really rewarded for the little detour. Absolutely fair prices, the chef loves what he puts on the plate, even the starter salad was very lovingly prepared. Sitting outside in the sun, with a real beer garden atmosphere in a quiet environment - simply wonderful, to relieve stress. The service is unsurpassedly friendly, our waitress was so pleasant that you would want to be friends with her - a highlight in Germany. If you're looking for a restaurant that doesn't close at 2:30 p.m. like all the others and you're completely annoyed and hungry for fish as a business traveler - a direct hit! There are also room rentals here, so it's perfect all around. Kind regards to the chef and the staff, we will definitely be back!

Very nice atmosphere and really attentive service. Unfortunately, the pricing there gave us the impression that cyclists from the Weser cycle path were being asked to pay more. PÜLLEKEN VOM 0.2ltr 3€, asparagus plate offer 39€. I had fried potatoes with a fried egg there. The portion size was good and it tasted good too. We traveled towards Verden on the Weser cycle path and there was no restaurant for a long time to the Fischerhaus. That's why we stopped there. As we drove further, we realized that there were numerous gastronomic offers - at certainly different prices.

A pity... well-located beer garden on the Weser with nice service, but when you look at the menu, it's WAY TOO EXPENSIVE (currywurst fries €13.50, etc.), Drinks are just as expensive... (e.g. Pülleken v.Fass for 0.2 = €3). It could be as simple as this: Prices down, but more guests who like to come back

The food is ok. But if you compare the prices of the Fischerhaus with the upscale restaurants in Minden, then the prices for the village cuisine are excessive. You don't have a Michelin star and you will never get one. Currywurst with fries €15 with a maximum purchase price of €3.00 is pretty cheeky.

The “Old Fisherman’s House” is always worth a visit. The food is great, the team at Fischerhaus is very hospitable and accommodating and the ambience, with a view of the Weser, is very nice. The beautiful beer garden, located directly on the Weser cycle path, simply invites you to stop by. But you can also dine very well and beautifully inside. The selection and quality of the food and drinks is very good. We always enjoy being there and will definitely be back very soon!

Unfortunately we received very unfriendly service. My mother wanted some extra ham on a plate. When I asked again if we could still get it, I was yelled at and told that there would be an hour wait. An hour to quickly put some ham on a plate. I didn't get any explanation about that either. The ham didn't come anymore either. Other things were also a bit chaotic or the steak was medium rare, but that can happen. Just yelling at your guests when you pay several hundred euros for a service is not possible.

Were on the Weser cycle path with 4 men. You could relax with good food and cool drinks. Excellent service. Feel free to come by again.

Pure disappointment once again! This restaurant obviously doesn't care about serving customers, because the staff, whether employees or owners, are absolutely unfriendly and inflexible. We wanted to eat there twice, but both times we left before ordering because we were shocked at how we were treated. We definitely won't try again.
