A truly fantastic restaurant! From the moment you arrive at Zukaya, you feel warmly welcomed. The service is very friendly, attentive, and professional without being intrusive. The food is absolutely top-notch: freshly prepared, delicious, and beautifully presented. You can tell that great emphasis is placed on quality and attention to detail. The ambiance is also very well done – modern, stylish, and cozy at the same time. A huge compliment to the owner and the entire team for this wonderful overall concept. We felt very comfortable and will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, the visit didn't quite live up to our expectations. The entrance is in a dimly lit basement (it has a real shisha bar feel). The service, however, was excellent. The appetizer, the sushi, was also very tasty. The main course, on the other hand, was a complete disappointment. The "Asian-inspired pork" was nothing more than a breaded pork schnitzel with a bit of soy sauce; it was even served with a lemon. The side dish, frozen fries for €8, was even more disappointing 😅. Furthermore, the octopus had the consistency of a car tire. But sure, it's a great place to take some nice photos for Instagram, but then you also pay €10 for a 0.75-liter bottle of water.

My visit to this restaurant was a complete disaster. For an establishment that positions itself in the high-end segment, the entire experience was disappointing. In my opinion, the service was inattentive and neither commensurate with the price nor my expectations. I had to wait approximately 45 minutes between the appetizer and the main course. The only side dishes offered—in my case, fries—were only served when the steak was almost finished or cold. The steak itself cost €45 and tasted like low-quality, stale meat. For that price, I expected significantly better quality. Overall, the value for money was, in my view, appalling. Honestly, I've had much better meals at inexpensive steakhouse chains or even at basic supermarket sushi restaurants. One thing is certain: Never again.

It was our first time there. We saw it on social media and thought we'd give it a try. You go down a dark staircase. I wish there had been someone at reception. It's like a vaulted cellar. The food was okay, and we had pleasant conversations. The service should be better trained for the price range. They were friendly, though. If you need pictures for Instagram, you can go there. But I don't need to go back...

1 star is for the service. Food was a total disappointment for this price. Pork main course tasted like nothing. For 20€+ you get a schnitzel that has 0 salt in it and a supermarket-level salad as a side dish

My first visit to Zukaya was a truly memorable experience! The entrance to the cellar feels almost mysterious, and inside the atmosphere is pleasantly quiet and private. The service was excellent – ​​especially the wine recommendations! My Chardonnay was heavenly, the four-course menu superb, and the beef fillet simply perfect. I will definitely be back!

The finest fish! The sea bass nigiri and ceviche were incredibly delicious. The pork tonkatsu wasn't quite up to par. The wine list is excellent. The service is very friendly, but needs to catch up with the quality of the food; we'll get there. We had a fantastic experience, and the prices reflect the quality.

Anyone who's hungry shouldn't go there; anyone who wants to post something on social media can drop by. You get very small, garnished portions and have to wait quite a while between courses. Extremely overpriced. The place is the epitome of capitalism.

Whilst we had a very enjoyable evening with friends helped by the decor, the food is nice but very standard fare. We ate the menu at 80 euro for which I would happily pay at most 40. We were served the wrong course first, the water was served warm, the cheesecake still frozen and the reactions of the staff hit and miss. The wine pairing was OK with two if the wines being very nice.

The three of us spent an all-around wonderful evening at Zukaya. We started with a sushi selection, continued with the beef fillet as our main course, and finished with a passion fruit crème brûlée – everything was perfectly flavorful, high-quality, and somehow special. The service deserves special mention: super friendly, pleasantly relaxed, and yet very professional. The advice was excellent, and each dish was presented with charm and expertise. We felt at home from the very beginning and will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

A very nice experience and super fast service. The drinks are very expensive, though. €10.50 for a 0.75l water is a bit high in my opinion. Likewise, a 0.25l Coke costs €5. You have to be aware of that 😊

The place is promising but did not deliver. It is under the street level - very dark. For a moment I thought we entered a different type of establishment. Food was nice but not worth the cost for sure. Would have been better rating if the value was more balanced.

It’s a bit dark and like a little underground labyrinth but getting lost every time you go to the toilet is part of the charm and there is always a friendly member of staff on hand to redirect you. Food is gorgeous and if you aren’t sure what wine to choose they will send you somone to talk you through the best pairing. Oh and try the spritz on their cocktail menu, it’s so good!

I visited Zukaya for the first time and was absolutely delighted! Cozy atmosphere, polite staff, unobtrusive music and, most importantly, incredibly delicious food. The service is top notch, the emotions are only positive. I will definitely come again and recommend this place to everyone!

The Zukaya restaurant left a very pleasant impression. The cozy atmosphere, exquisite presentation and friendly staff create a feeling of coziness and care. We tried beetroot, Uramaki Samurai, Zukaya roll, broccoli and cucumber salad. All dishes, except the salad, were perfectly balanced in taste and beautifully served. We especially liked the rolls - fresh, with interesting combinations. The service is worth mentioning separately: attentive and responsive. When a table did not suit us, the issue was resolved immediately and with respect. A great place to which you want to return!

The very cozy meal was a hit. The patisserie chef was very well done. It's worth a visit. I'd be happy to go again.

Cool! Very cool! What I liked most was the presentation of the food. It was modern (nowadays, not all restaurants adhere to modern presentation of dishes). The taste is 200% out of 100. To be honest, I didn’t expect that I would be so surprised and deliciously fed at Zukay.

I had dinner at Zukaya with three friends on April 15th. We were quite surprised by this restaurant's high rating on Maps, as our experience didn't quite live up to expectations. The food was decent, but given the price, we had hoped for more in terms of taste and presentation. While the staff was friendly, the service overall seemed inexperienced—there was some confusion about the wine's origin, and it took almost an hour for our main courses to arrive. The atmosphere also didn't quite match the upscale impression the restaurant seems to convey; it felt more like a themed restaurant than a truly refined dining experience. If you're looking to spend around €80 per person, there are other restaurants that I believe offer a more sophisticated and memorable experience.

My husband and I had a wonderful evening there. The service was extremely friendly and the food was amazing. If we are in Frankfurt again, we will come by here again.

I spontaneously went for dinner with a colleague. We got a great seat without a reservation. The ambiance looks modern; in my opinion, some nice decor would complete the whole experience. The service was truly amazing; the staff were very knowledgeable about the products and wines. The wine consultation was very personal and didn't feel like they were trying to sell anything. The meal was excellent from start to finish. You can see the delicious food in the pictures. The restaurant is recommended for tasting and sharing with wine pairings, as there are many delicious options. We also tried a few cocktails, which were also very good. We'll be back!

Unfortunately a very disappointing experience. We arrived at Zukaya restaurant at 9.40pm, well before closing time (11pm). The place was almost empty, but no one greeted us at the entrance: we had to look for someone to talk to. A waitress informed us that the kitchen was closing at 10pm and made us order immediately, before we were even seated, and with very few options available. After serving us water and soy sauce, it literally disappeared. After 50 minutes, without having received anything to eat and without the possibility of speaking to anyone, we decided to leave.

Service very nice and accommodating. Unfortunately, the food doesn't live up to expectations: the duck tasted rather poor and the salmon was cold and a bit bland. My highlight was the 0.75l bottle of water for €10.50 - ridiculous…

The Bimi with peanut sauce tasted overcooked, yet the bite was slightly under. The duckbreast was over, the skin wasn't rendered proper. Overall, combined with the slight sewage scent due to being positioned in a basement, the pretentious ambiance and price did not live up to the culinary expectation at all. First of all, it should be positively emphasized that the service was very good. I chose the restaurant for a special dinner because I was impressed by the restaurant's website. The ambience was also very nice and cozy, almost a bit nightclub-like because of the lighting. Now to the negative: for these prices, the portion sizes as well as the quality of the food are a disgrace! The sushi looked nice, but tasted like fat. The impression is that food here is seen more as a work of art than food. Despite the starter and main course, we ate something somewhere else afterwards and we are not people who need a lot to fill us up. We do not recommend the restaurant.

I paid €220 for 2 people. The service was really very attentive, that's why I give it 5 stars. Otherwise I would give an overall grade of 2-. The food was already prepared, but for me the wow factor was missing everywhere. I never had the feeling that any dish was special, something was missing everywhere, the spices, the imagination. I would cook these dishes and they taste better. And my companion was of the same opinion. Too bad. A few more points: 1. We waited 5 minutes at the reception, no one came, then we went into the restaurant until the waiter came and apologized because they were/are both busy. There were only 8 guests in the restaurant. 2. We got the seat and then the question came: do we want the water with or without sparkling water - I was irritated because we didn't order any water. Secondly, I didn't want to drink water at all, but rather something else, but if that's what they asked for, it probably won't be extra on the bill, but rather part of the service. Wrong, 10.50€

The service was okay, however the staff was of very friendly young workers who deserve every cent of a tip. The hygiene in the place was awful, as I had insects walking on my table and flying around my face. And our table was not stable. The food tasted really good which is a plus for this restaurant.

Unfortunately, the overall package didn't convince us. We had reservations for 8 p.m. When we entered there was a long line of people in front of us who had reserved for the neighboring location that shares the entrance and value area. It felt like you were queuing at a nightclub. After it was our turn, the wardrobe was picked up and we were escorted to the square. Service staff was friendly but overwhelmed and not trained for a restaurant of this type. Food: Starters salad was below average for the price. Main courses were ok. Ambiance: sat in the middle of a room that seemed uncomfortable to us due to the black paneling. In the end the cloakroom was no longer occupied and we had to look for our jackets from the room ourselves because the other event was still going on, “me petit chef”.

Bei einem Restaurant der gehobenen Klasse erwarte ich keine großen Portionen, dafür Geschmack, Mundgefühl und erstklassige Qualität der Speisen sowie eine perfekte Zubereitung. Ist dies nicht gegeben, das Fleisch zäh, die Vorspeise geschmacksneutral und die Beilage schwierig zu identifizieren, ergibt dies nur drei Sterne, die ein überaus freundlicher und netter Service nur bedingt wieder gut machen können. Das Ambiente hat etwas von einem amerikanischen fensterlosen Restaurants bei dem die Notausgangsbeleuchtung am hellsten strahlt.

Le petit chef - a unique experience. Costs/equivalent: Meal (6-course) 50-80€ That leaves €100 for the show and that's a bit generous. The food was good with... errors. Glass v. Aperitif was completely stuck on the outside, dishes on the plates were partly served slipping/smeared. It still tasted good, even if there were no culinary surprises. The service staff were extremely nice and tried hard, but some of them were temporary staff. hanging over the table v. clearing plates from one position. That's better. Despite the small drawbacks, it was great fun and we left full and well entertained.

Wir hatten uns auf ein schönes Geburtstagdinner gefreut und wurden leider enttäuscht. Als wir ankamen stand eine Menschenmenge im Flur die es fast unmöglich gestaltete überhaupt ins Restaurant zu gelangen. Wie wir im Nachhinein erfuhren standen diese Personen für „le petite chef“ an. Wir wurden nicht begrüßt und es war auch nicht ersichtlich, wo sich Personen mit „normaler“ Tischreservierung anmelden können. Wir haben uns dann selbst einen Weg durch die Menge gebahnt und den Restaurant Bereich gefunden. Um an einen Tisch zu gelangen mussten wir jemanden vom Personal „abfangen“. Am Tisch angekommen bekam dann nur einer von uns beiden einen Gruß aus der Küche, weil eine vegetarische Version auf die Schnelle nicht möglich war. Vorspeisen waren gut. Hauptgänge sehr klein und wir hätten uns eine Beratung gewünscht. Nachspeise ok. Insgesamt wirkte das Personal zwar bemüht aber sehr überfordert. Wir haben knapp 200€ bezahlt für 2 Personen und waren leider enttäuscht - für diesen Preis erwarten wir mehr. Wir können das Restaurant leider nicht weiter empfehlen. Zudem waren die Männer Toiletten sehr schmutzig (zu den Damentoiletten können wir nichts sagen)

Waren heute das erste Mal beim Weihnachtsessen. Hatten es durch die durchweg guten Bewertungen ausgesucht und wurden echt überrascht. Essen und Service waren traumhaft. Underground Japanese restaurant, not finest ever but ok

The ambiance and service were great, but the price is not justified. For example, the California roll advertised with crab actually had surimi instead of real crab. Overall, the quality of the dishes was underwhelming, though the passion fruit crème brûlée was excellent. If you're looking for authentic Japanese cuisine, this might not be the place for you.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Zukaya. From the first to the last minute I felt welcome and in good hands. The ambience is a perfect mix of stylish design and cozy atmosphere. The food was a real highlight: the dishes were not only outstanding in terms of taste, but also visually a work of art. Each dish appeared to be carefully put together and well thought out, which was evident in the quality of the food. I would particularly like to highlight the miso eggplant on baba ganoush. The service also left nothing to be desired. The staff was attentive, professional and warm at the same time - a rare combination. I can highly recommend Zukaya and look forward to my next visit!

The service was understaffed on a weekday and, as of December 5th, 2024, was still a bit overwhelmed. However, you have to give credit to the efforts of the staff to compensate for this. The fact that our request for a drink order was forgotten is annoying for sales. The kitchen tries out upscale dishes and combinations. In the end, our impression is that it was €5-10 per dish too expensive. Regardless of the price, the kitchen can inspire. If something changes in the price and/or service/ambience or there is an interesting themed evening it would be interesting for a second one - otherwise not so much.

Essen war super lecker. Drinks waren gut. ABER wenn man eine Reservierung für 20 Uhr hat und erst um 20:40 Uhr zu seinem Tisch gebracht wird, stimmt etwas nicht. Kellner waren freundlich aber es hat leider alles zu lange gedauert.

I've eaten at higher Asian restaurants in Frankfurt (as we have frequented weekly a new one) and this ranks top 5 so far in the area.

Zukaya Restaurant offers a pleasant dining experience with tasty dishes and dedicated service. We ordered the beetroot, Uramaki Samurai & Zukaya, broccoli and the cucumber salad. Except for the cucumber salad, which wasn't entirely convincing in terms of taste, all the dishes were very tasty and well prepared. The service was attentive and quick. Even when we didn't like the table we were originally assigned, our concerns were immediately taken seriously and a person in charge quickly offered us a satisfactory solution. A small point of criticism is the atmosphere of the restaurant. The space feels a bit overwhelming and the interior design could have used more care. Since the restaurant covers quite a large area, it sometimes seems difficult for the staff to keep an eye on the entire service area. Overall, we still had a nice evening and can recommend the restaurant, even if it still has room for improvement in terms of ambience.

Hochgelobt, aber mehr Schein als Sein. Das Ambiente im Keller war nicht unseres, hier hat Charme und Charakter gefehlt. Jeder zweiter Tisch war irgendwie störend positioniert und bei uns ist leider kein Wohlfühlambiente aufgekommen. Auch hat uns den ganzen Abend ein sehr eigener, unangenehmer Geruch begleitet … Das Essen war ok, aber bei den Vorspeisen hat das besondere Etwas gefehlt. Bei den Hauptspeisen war die Ente kühl, der Lachs durch und ohne Deko (außer drei Tupfen Pü), beide Gerichte ohne Raffinesse. Der Service war ok, aber das junge Mädel - lieb aber total unerfahren und nicht zu verstehen, passt einfach nicht in die „angestrebte“ Liga. In Gänze passt Preis / Leistung einfach nicht. Frankfurt hat eine Unmenge an hochpreisigen, aber qualitativ deutlich besseren Restaurants. Schade, hatte mich sehr gefreut, aber werde nicht mehr kommen.

An sich ist das Lokal ganz in Ordnung aber das war’s auch das Essen an sich war nur Oki wir haben lange warten müssen bis der erste Gang kam leider haben die zusammen Setzungen nicht so gut gepasst so das es den Geschmack zerstört hatte bei haupgang hatten wir Fisch und Ente der Fisch hat sehr nach Fisch gerochen und das dürfte nicht sein in so einem lockal finde ich der 4 Gang war genau so das die Komponenten nicht zusammen passte und das die Soße nicht gut schmeckte und auch säuerlich Aber das sind nur meine Erfahrung Leider ging uns an dem Abend nach dem Essen aber auch nicht so gut so wie am nächsten Tag

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sometimes you stumble into a restaurant and wonder why you haven't been here before! That's exactly what happened to us at this wonderful place of German-Asian fusion cuisine. Stylish and cozy? But hello! As soon as you enter the restaurant you feel like you are entering a designer living room decorated by someone with really good taste. But now to the essentials: the food. A 4-course menu that not only conquered my taste buds, but also my heart. The starter variation with tempura oyster mushrooms with tuna tartare. A crispy poem! The middle course: a pork belly that danced with joy on my fork. And then the main course: the duck… oh, the duck! Perfectly cooked and so tender I almost adopted them. The crowning achievement? A matcha cheesecake that reminded me that tasting “not like a field of flowers” ​​is actually the highest compliment you can give a matcha cheesecake. :-) Not to forget the service, which was at least as charming and attentive as Marie, who guided us through the evening with a smile. And then there were the cocktails! Extraordinary and so perfectly balanced that I almost felt like a professional bartender - almost. All in all: An absolute insider tip that you would prefer to keep to yourself... but that would be too mean. ;-) Thank you for this fantastic evening – we will definitely be back!
