First off the food was delicious. I had the schweinshaxe and my wife the rouladen. My issues were with the atmosphere and service. The staff were banging around the tables not thinking about the patrons eating. Next the service was okay but when I was paying the bill the manager suggested tip but I said no and he was rude about me declining.

Very friendly staff. We ordered the mixed meat platter (pfanne) to share among several friends. It was very good and fun.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the service at this restaurant. We had reserved a table for 7:30 pm. When we arrived at 7:35 pm, we were initially left standing by the entrance for several minutes. During this time, the last available table was given away right in front of us. We were then told that there were currently no tables available and that we should wait at the bar (other establishments in the exact same situation would offer a complimentary drink. This was out of the question here). When I pointed out that the table had been reserved for some time, the employee asked for a moment and disappeared (he never returned). We were left standing there feeling lost in the restaurant, which was obviously not a pleasant situation (and entirely avoidable). A few meters away, a table became available and was then quickly cleaned and set by another server. She had apparently overheard us (still politely) expressing our displeasure. She waved us over with a very unfriendly look and a hand gesture, without saying a word. Apparently, you're lucky to even get noticed here. The food was good. However, the poor service was a recurring problem. Empty glasses on the table were ignored, and ordering new drinks was practically impossible. In short: The food was perfectly fine. The service, unfortunately, was not!

Still a solid "bank for German cuisine in Frankfurt". Yes, there's always room for improvement, but here the service and value for money are excellent.

Horrific experience, when asked if there was a table for two we were told that they has availability for an hour, the food arrived fast but after 20 minutes the blonde waiter told us we had to leave because a big party was coming, i didn’t even have time to finish my drink! The food was also dry!

The "old" Klosterhof was my top restaurant in Frankfurt for 25 years, but sadly, nothing remains of that. The schnitzel was dry, the service didn't seem to care, my colleague received the wrong sauce with his salmon, which was then removed without replacement – ​​anyone who still finds that funny has a sense of humor. Sadly, never again!

Excellent German cuisine! Very friendly and fast service, a nice, rustic atmosphere in the middle of an otherwise rather drab area (I'm not from Frankfurt, so please excuse any professional offenders for this description). I'll definitely be back.

Perfect dinner, we were looked after very well by a nice young man, pork steak was excellent and refreshing applewein.

We visited Klosterhof on Friday afternoon and really appreciated being able to order the full menu at 3:00 pm. The atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff were pleasant and welcoming. I ordered green sauce. It was good, although I've had better in Frankfurt. Overall, though, a recommendable restaurant.

The Sunday schnitzel is very good

After visiting the Stadel Museum, I stopped by because it was a short walk away. I ordered the most expensive schnitzel, as shown in the photo, and the food was good. It came out quickly. My wife and I had four beers and left feeling great. I'd definitely go back again. The service was great.

We were a group of 25. The food selection was great. However, some dishes were overcooked (tough, or at least overcooked), others too salty or very spicy. The atmosphere and service were excellent.

Today, we went to this restaurant for dinner. The place was almost empty, but we asked if it was possible to eat there anyway. An elderly lady told us we could come in, but that we would only have 1 hour and 30 minutes for dinner. She gave us a table. After we sat down, just 1 minute later, she came back with a German couple and kicked us out of that table, pointing to another one. None of the tables had a reservation sign. Although we always communicated with her in German, she insisted on speaking English with us, even though she was clearly German and spoke German with the couple who came in after us. We felt we were being treated differently and discriminated against. A restaurant that does not serve/treat everyone equally should not be open to the public. I do not recommend it to "non-Germans". It was without a doubt the biggest and best pork knuckle I've ever eaten. Very juicy inside and very crunchy outside, plus I couldn't finish it all. Something unprecedented in my life 😂 The only thing that could perhaps be improved would be to reduce the salt a little. The pea soup with bacon was also wonderful.

The food and atmosphere were quite good, although they charged us 4 euros for a Calvados the size of a shot glass...

A typical Frankfurt tourist trap: My roulades tasted of nothing, as did the dumplings and the red cabbage. Too expensive at €23.20. My wife's meal was overcooked. I live around the corner and know many restaurants in the Bahnhofsviertel (station district). I was looking forward to Klosterhof because it's the only restaurant in the area with traditional German dishes. What a shame. Adding a bit of seasoning to beef roulades is hardly rocket science.

Of course, you have to try German pork knuckle when you're in Germany. This was only the second time I'd had it there. The skin was crispy, the meat was tender, and the portion was quite generous. However, I found it very salty. Even though I love salty food, I still sweated while eating it. I think it would be better if it weren't so salty.

The food and atmosphere were amazing! The service though was very lacking, our waitress left during the middle of our meal and didn't let us know or apparently any of the other waiters about our table. When we did flag someone down though, they were very helpful.

German cuisine with wooden tables, very friendly service, and excellent value for money. Located in the district between Gutleut and the city center, in a predominantly office area, parking is available at the InterContinental parking garage. The parking ticket after 3 hours is almost as expensive (€4.50/hour) as the reasonably priced, decent meal. The Frankfurt-style schnitzel with green sauce is a local specialty. However, they also offer many schnitzel variations and other German dishes.

Wonderful Pork Knuckle, tasty sausages, Good dark beer, and a very nice service, would come back for that Pork :)

I ordered the Alfred Bruner's meal. Sausages, cabbage, and fried potatoes. That was good, a typical German meal. The apple strudel for dessert was a little weird. Maybe it's just me.

On my way back home, I stopped for lunch with colleagues from my overseas branch. We enjoyed delicious food and wheat beer.

I didn't have a reservation, I was alone, and I chose this restaurant because of the excellent reviews about the food. But a restaurant is not just about food. Even though there were tables available and not reserved, because I was alone, he said that everything was full and reserved. This was hardly credible, as it was 9:30 p.m. and the restaurant closes at 11 p.m. I certainly didn't miss anything, but be more polite and accommodating even if those who come to eat occupy a table for one person.

I experienced such good service and ambiance from the host that I'd love to come back again. I'd love to come back again. 5 out of 5! Keep it up!

The tomato soup was delicious. The sausage dish was also delicious. However, the attitude of the waiters... It was blatantly racist. I walked in, but they didn't even show me to a seat and just glared at me. I rolled my eyes, wondering what was going on, and only then did they wave me to a seat. They even took my order roughly. The bartender? The one who brought me drinks was even worse. He threw the plate so hard that it was just sitting there without even asking what I ordered. I couldn't shake the feeling of being treated rudely. But the food was delicious, so it was okay.

We had a delicious Trappist schnitzel, followed by chocolate pudding. The service was also very friendly and attentive. A modern ambiance paired with Frankfurt hospitality! We'd love to go back!

The meal was very good, though not particularly outstanding overall. The Grüne Sauce was excellent and definitely a highlight. The staff were friendly and patient, which made the experience enjoyable, and the setting was pleasant. Considering the price, it’s a good restaurant and worth visiting.

I ordered pork steak and salad. The salad greens were wilted, and the dressing tasted strange. The steak also had a strange flavor, so I could barely eat one of the two pieces. It didn't suit my taste buds or anyone else's, so I wasted my money.

We had delicious potato rösti and homemade lemonade. The service was excellent and our waitress very friendly. All in all, we felt at home, enjoyed delicious food at a fair price, and can wholeheartedly recommend the Klosterhof.

A very nice spot. We made a reservation in advance. It was quiet today, but I would still recommend a reservation. Schnitzel with green sauce and bratwurst with sauerkraut. Heaven on earth. You can eat your fill of potatoes.

I’m a flight attendant and I love going to Klosterhof for dinner. Service is great and the food is always delicious. You will never get a bad meal.

Service was very friendly. We ordered the wiener schnitzel with fries and hunter’s schnitzel. The schupfnudeln (I believe that’s what it was) that came with the hunter’s schnitzel was a bit too oily and soggy for my liking. However, the fries were great, and the schnitzel was crispy. Overall a good experience.

This restaurant is located between the Bahnhofsviertel (train station district) and the Main River and offers plenty of tables inside and outside. Reservations are recommended for large groups – tourists and Frankfurt locals alike enjoy dining here. There's a wide selection of schnitzels, Frankfurt delicacies, and desserts. The Kaiserschmarrn is always delicious. The ambiance is modern, with flowers adding a lovely splash of color to the tables. The service is friendly and attentive. It's also no problem at all to sit and linger for a while.

We wanted something delicious to eat again, and after being so impressed last time, we went to the Klosterhof. This time was unfortunately a disappointment. The service was nice at first and got us a seat at a couple's table. Then we waited forever, and only after asking did we get a menu. We were able to order drinks, but the couple next to us were ignored and couldn't order. Then it took another 15 minutes, and still no drinks arrived, and there was no server in sight. We and the couple next to us left. As we were leaving, we were spoken to quite rudely and told that the drinks were currently being made. That was a bit late, though. People who came after us had almost finished eating. The food was very good on the first visit, but it's no use if you can't even order!

The service was consistently attentive, warm, and professional; follow-up questions were addressed proactively, empty glasses were immediately noticed, and special requests were fulfilled without any complications. Food & Drinks: The cuisine is typically Frankfurt – down-to-earth, fresh, and very well-seasoned. The portions are reasonable, and the value for money is right. Particularly positive: short waits between courses; everything was served hot and cooked to perfection. Ambience: Cozy and inviting, just the right setting for a relaxed evening with family or friends. It feels well-maintained and tidy. Family-friendly: Even with children, you feel welcome; the team responds to individual needs in a friendly and patient manner – which makes a big difference when traveling with a larger group. Conclusion: A really good tip for anyone who likes typical Frankfurt: great cuisine, excellent service, and a pleasant atmosphere. We'll definitely be back – always happy to come back!

Great food and excellent service.

I enjoyed schnitzel, beer, and apple juice at Restaurant Klosterhof, about a six-minute walk from Frankfurt Central Station. The fragrant deep-fried batter and juicy meat were perfectly coated with a creamy, rich mushroom sauce, and the seasoning was outstanding. The portion was just right—not too much, not too little. This dish in particular pairs perfectly with German beer, enhancing the flavor of the beer with every sip. I also tried the homemade apple juice, which had a perfect balance of sourness and sweetness, with a refreshing aftertaste. I enjoyed a very satisfying lunch in terms of food, drink, and atmosphere.

Unfortunately, the waitress who served us was very unfriendly. Furthermore, we were charged twice for a drink, even though we had only ordered it once. This is pure rip-off and completely unacceptable. A return visit is out of the question for us – even one star doesn't seem justified in this case. Just stay away!

The new Klosterhof hasn't lost any of its service or food quality due to the move; everything is just like it used to be. However, it's nowhere near as good as the old location with its fantastic beer garden.

I was there yesterday with my "gang" for our monthly get-together. The menu alone is worth a visit. As is the ambiance. The staff is friendly, and you don't have to wait long for service, even when the place is buzzing. And the food is simply amazing. Everyone enjoyed it. We'd love to come back. P.S.: What bothered us (we sat outside) was the constant begging (but the restaurant can't do anything about that).

Very friendly service, atmosphere was unique and charming and the food was awesome! Definitely a must have. As a Canadian visiting Germany they made it very easy and enjoyable because they had English menus, English signs and all spoke English which is a bonus to this amazing restaurant! We got the Bruder Alfred roasted sausages.

The Rösti with mushroom cream, combined with Rösti, tomato, mozzarella, and a salad bouquet, is outrageous value for money... I went home hungry... Same price as Rösti with tomato, what's the difference? No problem with salad, but like this? The price-performance ratio is no longer right at the new KLOSTER HOF restaurant... Please comment!

I came here with a large group on the recommendation of a friend. The food was served very quickly, within minutes. I had a roulade. As someone who likes to cook, it was OK, but not revolutionary. Nothing that made you think, OK, I've learned something, I'll do it this way from now on. The quality was OK. But the price-performance ratio wasn't. Poorly rolled, hardly any filling, and above all, relatively little meat. A mini roulade for 23 euros is tough. The restaurant was nice, though; the atmosphere was fine, and the service was reliable and fast. All in all, very touristy, unfortunately.

Great place and great food. Visited also by locals, who were as impressed as we. Wanted to reserve the next night, but since that was a Saturday it was fully booked. Highly recommended.

I just had dinner. The quality is good, but they charged me 21 euros for some stunted asparagus with four potatoes. A glass of wine costs 8 euros, I understand, but the asparagus thing hurt me. I love them and I always take them in Frankfurt, this time it was a disappointment.

This restaurant is top notch. After 21 days on my ship trip, the food in the monastery courtyard was by far much better than on the ship. The food is plentiful, tastes great and the staff is very nice, friendly and quick.
