Very nice restaurant, food was also very good and the prices are reasonable 👍

We went to a company dinner with colleagues at the customs house. Service went just fine, with a bit of a wait we were gradually served. The location itself is really not bad. What unfortunately doesn't work at all is the food. Rarely have I had such a bad schnitzel. In my case the western schnitzel, with terrible ready-made sauce, the cheapest fried onions from the package and disgusting fries. A shame for a Franconian schnitzel restaurant. Therefore, another visit is unlikely.

The alternative to the often already full “Oskar” – with more places outside that are not directly in the sun! 😀

The seats outside were full, but inside everything was empty. When I asked for a table for two people, I received the short answer: "Everything is occupied!". When I pointed out that all tables in the dining room were free, I replied: "We only serve outside!". It's a really big cinema. Things can't be as bad for the catering industry as is often claimed if potential guests are alienated like this.

It's nice to sit outside in front of the restaurant. The staff is friendly. However, the food was very disappointing. In Franconia, serving ready-made spaetzle with lots of sour cream, lots of cheese and store-bought fried onions is simply not possible. The schnitzel was OK.

Lange gewartet bis uns jemand platziert hat. Schnitzel sind im Sonnenhof Pferch viel besser, Getränke leer, niemand hat gefragt obwohl die Flaschen abgeräumt wurden, kein Besteck erhalten erst nach Aufforderung. Service tut sehr beschäftigt rum is aber nur Show.

Great food, great atmosphere, nice staff!!!

Greatest schnitzel ever 😍 After my girlfriend and I got our feet wet in the botanical gardens, we were hungry. By chance we found Customs House IX. The best schnitzel we've ever had! Unfortunately my hobbit stomach couldn't handle the huge portion. My girlfriend does, she has an orc stomach 🤣 If we are back in Bayreuth at some point, we will come back.

Went to the customs house for the first time yesterday at lunchtime. Due to the advertising (switched from burgers to schnitzel variations), we chose a “Viennese style” schnitzel with fries and a cream schnitzel with spaetzle. Had to wait 45 minutes, but you're patient. When the food was served, I had a very positive impression of the presentation! The cream sauce was served separately and not poured over the “breaded” schnitzel. But that was it!! Until now I thought you couldn't go wrong with schnitzel. One can!!! I've never been served such a horrible schnitzel before. Plated 10 times by the steamroller, seasoned zero and the meat is indefinable. Even the breading was meatless in places. How does something like that work?? We left almost all of the schnitzel on the plate, whereupon the waitress asked if we wanted to take the rest with us. No thanks!!! The service was ok and the location was very attractive. There was no apology, let alone any other small compensation. I paid €47.50 for it (with a drink). We won't go there anymore. That won't work!!

Wir waren direkt zwei Abende hintereinander im Zollhaus IX, weil es uns sehr gut gefallen hat. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam und super freundlich. Das Essen wirklich lecker. Wir hatten an einem Abend jeweils Schnitzel - Cordon bleu und Westernschnitzel. Man könnte fast sagen, das war die leckerste Rahmsauce unseres Lebens - absolut zu empfehlen. Generell war das Cordon Bleu reichlich gefüllt und das Westernschnitzel wirklich üppig - und das beste: wirklich in der Pfanne gebrachten und nicht einfach in die Fritteuse geworfen. Am anderen Abend hatten wir jeweils das Zollhaus Gröstl - sehr sehr lecker, aber im Vergleich zu der Schnitzelportionsgröße etwas wenig. Da es Sommer war, haben wir jeweils draußen gesessen, aber ein Blick rein lohnt: sehr stylisches Lokal.

The Ambiance is a mix between rustic and modern. The service staff is very friendly and accommodating. The portions are really big and it tastes very tasty. Can only be recommended in all respects.

Very nice seating outside, very centrally located, in the middle of the city center. I ate a really delicious Cordon Bleu and drank some country beer (dark) from the tap! Can only recommend the Zollhaus!!! Everything was great 😊💪

Nice restaurant with very good food and nice service. The Röstl is absolutely recommended! There is also a very good wine and schnapps selection far above the usual. Standard.

If you want to spend a nice evening in good company with very good food, you're in good hands at the Tollhaus...great service team...I'd be happy to go back, but could stay open longer...

Very nicely coordinated and cozy location. The service is extremely courteous and very friendly. All of the dishes so far have been very tasty and the price is also completely reasonable. The new “schnitzel concept” fits wonderfully and you won’t get a better schnitzel anywhere. Even the smallest guests are very welcome and are well looked after with a high chair and great handling. Top address in Bayreuth. Only recommended.

Nice to eat there more often. Tried the new schnitzel concept for the first time today. All I can say is WORLD CLASS! I usually always drive south to get a good schnitzel...now the path goes a few meters from the front door. Thanks!

Kitchen stated that they mistakenly offered a ‚not so good‘ piece of meat (Zwiebelsteak). But pommes frites (french fries) were ok and the service was nice. I will not visit again.

Very nice restaurant and very good atmosphere. The food tastes particularly good. The plates are particularly beautifully presented. Very freshly prepared food. The staff is very nice. The chefs do the best cooking.

An absolute top restaurant! We were there for the first time shortly after it opened and were so impressed by both the food and the super friendly and courteous service that we also celebrated our wedding there. Mareike in particular was incredibly helpful and implemented all of our planning wishes - they even remodeled part of the restaurant for us! The rehearsal dinner with wine tasting was an absolute highlight and prepared us well for the big day. On the wedding day itself, we and our guests had a wonderful time. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable and the beautiful decoration, which the customs house also took care of, rounded everything off perfectly. Dear Mareike, dear Flo and the entire Zollhaus team, thank you very much for your commitment and the excellent support and hospitality. We would love to come back.

Were in transit and had something to eat for lunch. Very nice staff and modern, clean atmosphere. The currywurst with fries (unfortunately no photo) was so much that it was difficult to manage. Next time we will come in the evening.

The food is very tasty, the atmosphere is a great mix of rustic Franconian and very modern. Would love to come back to eat. Price is normal for Bayreuth standards.

I had dinner there on Saturday with a large group. There were appetizer platters to share beforehand. There was more than enough for everyone on the plates, high quality and personally it tasted fantastic. The main course that followed was also very tasty :-) I really liked the wine selection, the espresso was great and the service staff was attentive and friendly :) Price-performance - TOP :)

I visit Zollhaus every now and then. Whenever we have visitors. So far we have always been satisfied. What is important for us is that we can also come with children and as a big plus, they have a changing table. Drinking and eating were always good, I'll be happy to come back next time.

We finally wanted to visit the still young restaurant. Ambiance is successful, lots of wood, chic. My pulled pork burger was pretty dry, overall okay but nothing special. My wife ordered the tagliatelle with king prawns. At first they said there was only spaghetti. However, the table next door got tagliatelle. Then the king prawns were missing. So the plate went back. 10 minutes later the plate came back carelessly with 4 shrimps. Absolutely tasteless, it tasted like nothing. The parmesan shavings were also missing. The feedback we received was “he is shitting the kitchen” and excuses were made. We were offered an espresso on the house. For 18 euros I expect at least a discount with so many shortcomings. We won't go there anymore.

Yes, what should I write to you about it? For me the customs house is something different. There I have peace of mind. The beer shows you who has learned something. Nothing is bad here. But nothing great either. Narrow menu, little selection...which would be ok if the dishes were a highlight. But they are only average. There is more potential here

Essen war fad und geschmacklich langweilig. Gänsebrust war tot gebraten, Knödel gingen gar nicht. Für die Qualität überteuert. Service hatte ab 22 Uhr signalisiert bald zu schließen, obwohl der Laden noch voll war. Service war beinahe unfreundlich.

Hier passt alles. Ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert.

Sehr schön gestaltetes Restaurant, jedoch enges Sitzen. Sehr gutes Essen gehobener Preisklasse...sollte man auf jeden Fall mal ausprobieren!

Wir hatten unsere Weihnachtsfeier und leider lief es nicht rund. Zu wenig Plätze. Service sehr freundlich und bemüht. Leider war die Küche überfordert. Es hat sehr lange Teilweise gedauert, es waren beim Schweinefilet kleine Portion und leider sehr trocken. Sauerbraten war leider keiner. Es war trotz Vorbestellung irgendwie schief gelaufen, kam aber nicht wirklich eine Entschuldigung. Gansbrust soll gut gewesen sein. Also alles in allem bin ich hungrig Heim und nicht so zufrieden wie es sein sollte. Grosse Veranstaltungen müssen da noch geübt werden und an der Zubereitung der Speisen und geschmacklich auch. Ambiente ist modern und stylisch. Personal freundlich. Aber Preis Leistung bei dem Essen passt leider nicht.

Sehr kompetenter und ultra netter Service! Mein Essen war sehr lecker, die Maronensuppe ist sehr zu empfehlen! Die Desserts auch absolut schmackhaft! Das Restaurant war wirklich gut besucht und allgemein war bei uns die Wartezeit mit allem sehr gering! Werde wiederkommen!!!!

Bedienung war super nett und auch das Ambiente ist schön. Leider sehr lange Wartezeiten aber… Das Essen war in Ordnung, ich hatte die Nudeln mit Garnelen, die leider sehr wenig Geschmack hatten und noch einiges an Gewürz gefehlt hat. Die Maronensuppe hingegen war sehr lecker.

Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe zum Abendessen im Zollhaus. Vorweg ist zu sagen, dass das Lokal schön und modern eingerichtet ist. Das Personal ist durchwegs freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Speisekarte ist überschaubar was die Auswahl anbelangt, aber es ist für jeden etwas dabei. Lediglich das Design und die Nutzung der Speisekarte ist etwas umständlich gestaltet. Die Wartezeit auf unser Essen war leider trotz wenig Betrieb etwas sehr lang (knapp 40 Minuten). Geschmacklich war das essen leider etwas durchwachsen - die Burger waren top, die Nudeln mit Kürbis von der Saisonkarte waren geschmacklos. Auch ein bis zwei weitere Gerichte konnten leider nicht ganz überzeugen. Negativ erwähnen muss ich leider die doch sehr kleinen Portionen! Bis auf die Burger fällt alles sehr dürftig aus. Die Beilagenpommes waren ein Witz. Das Rumpsteak war eher ein "Steakchen". Wenn man sich dazu jetzt auch noch die Preise anschaut, die verlangt werden, finde ich das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis leider nicht ganz passend. Klar, Qualität soll seinen Preis haben, aber hier war es einfach viel zu wenig und wir mussten leider fast alle hungrig das Lokal wieder verlassen. Dennoch ein schönes Ambiente und auch einen Besuch wert! Fazit: 3,5/5

War jetzt zum zweiten Mal dort und es war wieder ein schöner Abend. Die Einrichtung ist sehr schön und alles ist aufeinander abgestimmt (verstehen was von Corporate Identity). Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen war sehr lecker und Preis-Leistung hat gepasst. Lediglich die Vorspeisenplatte hätte für den Preis etwas größer sein können, war aber sehr lecker. Als Hauptspeise kann ich den vegetarischen Bürger (grünes B) sehr empfehlen! Das Paddy wird selbst gemacht und danach schmeckt es auch. Pommes dazu auch sehr lecker. Auch die Tagliatelle mit Rinderfilet sollen sehr gut gewesen sein (vorallem die Soße). Ein sehr schöner Abend, danke!

Tolles Ambiente, wirklich nette Belegschaft und sehr familienfreundlich! Essen war gut und kam schnell - wir werden ganz sicher einmal wiederkommen. Schade, dass der Laden (gefühlt) nicht so bekannt ist, was sich hoffentlich bald ändert. Grüße von Mira : )

Unser abend begann ziemlich spaßig und endete mit einer Hammer Rechnung . Das Essen haben wir ca 2std und 10 min nach Ankunft bekommen die erste Vorspeise gab es nach 45 min . Es kam einem schon fast so vor als wenn man durstig gehalten wird um mehr Getränke zu bestellen . Zur Vorspeise gab es den Roastbeef Salat Teller . Als Hauptgang kalte Tagliatelle mit Scampis . Eigentlich war nicht all zu viel los um kaltes essen zu servieren . Unsere Begleitung suchte nach ihrer soße zum Schnitzel .... etwas spärlich. Alles in allem war das Essen einfach okay nur die Preise ca 2 Euro über dem Ziel . Das Fiasko begann bei der Nachspeise . Groß gepriesen wurden uns die veganen Schmankerl angeboten die nicht der Hit waren ,nach langen hin und her kam die Bedienung letztendlich und erzählte dass der Koch doch extra für uns etwas mit mehr Herz zubereitet hätte dass wir unbedingt probieren müssen . Die Situation wurde so dargestellt als wenn dies aufs Haus gehen würde . Zu einer Frage wer das bezahlt kam es zwar aber sie wurde nicht beantwortet bis zum Schluss... Nachdem jeder seiner Rechnung Herr wurde, war unser Kollege als letztes dran und bekam die eigentlich nicht bestellte Süße überraschung zu spüren . Wie sagt man so schön die letzten beißen die Hunde anscheinend . Eine ziemliche Frechheit sowas im Raum stehen zu lassen und dazu suggerieren es wäre kostenlos . Gute Miene zum bösen Spiel .... alles in allem ist unser Abend wo anders danach besser geworden . Nie wieder Zollhaus

Ich hatte einen Carrot Dag. Hatto davor schon einiges von ihm gehört... Mega lecker und sehr empfehlenswert. Natürlich Vegetarisch ;) Top Service hier und klasse Lokation. Fünf Sternchen!

Wir waren hier in größerer Runde mit Reservierung und mussten leider fast 2 Std. auf das Essen warten, was für die allgemeine Stimmung absolut nicht zuträglich war. Das Personal war zwar stets bemüht, kam aber auch nicht mal auf die Idee, zumindest Brot oder Ähnliches an den Tisch zu bringen. Das Essen war relativ hochpreisig, aber absolut nichts besonderes. Der Burger meiner Tochter war angebrannt und das Fleisch bitter, so dass sie fast nur Pommes aß . In meinen Tagliatelle konnte man die Fleischstücke an einer Hand abzählen. Haben dazu nichts mehr gesagt, weil wir, nachdem wir gegen 22 Uhr endlich fertig waren, nur noch gehen wollten!

Servicekräfte waren alle nett und zuvorkommend. Essen geschmacklich gut. Ambiente ist immer Geschmackssache. Man kann nichts falsch machen wenn man etwas essengehen möchte.

Durch das Tagesgericht auf der Tafel vor dem Haus angelockt, wurden wir aufgeklärt, dass es nicht mehr da ist; auch die zweite Bestellung (Bratwürste...) war nicht mehr möglich, weil "wir morgen Ruhetag haben". Dass ein leichtes Weissbier nicht zu bekommen ist, ist noch verzeihbar. Aber mit Essen werben, das nicht mehr verfügbar ist, geht nicht. Leider waren die Auswahlmöglichkeiten mangels Angebot nicht so üppig.

Tolles Lokal - sehr schön und modern eingerichtet. Das Essen ist hervorragend, und die Bedienung absolut top! Preise sind für die Qualität gerechtfertigt - klare Empfehlung!

Nettes Restaurant mit schöner moderner Einrichtung. Details wie Brands auf den Tischen, Stoffservietten und schöne Wasserflaschen machen es rund. Die großen Fenster/Türen nach draußen waren geöffnet und verliehen dem ganzen eine zusätzliche tolle Urlaubs-Atmosphäre. Nachdem die Bedingungen erst einmal an uns vorbei rannten, wurden wir dann den restlichen Abend freundliche und aufmerksam bedient. Der Cocktail war super und die Tagliatelle mit Garnelen sowie Kaiserschmarrn sehr lecker. Die Getränke und das Essen kamen immer zügig und heiß an den Tisch. Die Preis-Leistung ist super und absolut korrekt. Rund um ein schöner Abend.

Selten so freundliches, fähiges und engagiertes Personal in letzter Zeit erlebt, danke auch dafür, dass eine angemessene Anzahl Personal eingesetzt wird. Die Speisekarte war perfekt für uns. Wirklich schön angerichtete Gerichte und eine schicke Auswahl an bodenständig, saisonal und besonders.
