Unfortunately, they moved into the bowling alley, which meant a lot of the atmosphere was lost. The rest is still just as great as before.

The food (burger) and the service were unfortunately not even average :/ It could be much better for these prices. 🤷🏻

We spent the evening of our club outing here and were more than satisfied. The communication and planning beforehand with Chris was excellent and very easy. We were given a private room for almost 40 people, where the salad buffet was already waiting for us. Our server was simply diligent, super friendly, and patient with us. The meat platters, which were brought fresh to our table, were delicious. Great value for money 👍 We didn't lack for anything. We even had the chance to try our hand at a few bowling lanes. 😉 Thanks for the great evening with you. I highly recommend it 👍

We went for dinner following a recommendation. Initially, we were confused about where to go, only to discover that the restaurant had moved downstairs to the bowling alley. The food was okay, and the service was really nice. However, the ambiance, which is actually quite cute, is very distracting due to the flashing disco lights in the corner of your eye, the view of the lanes, and the extremely loud background noise. It doesn't feel like you're in a restaurant, but rather like you're taking a quick refreshment break at a birthday party. It's a shame, really.

The place was huge, with no customers; we were the only ones there. The decor was very ordinary! The food selection took some getting used to, and the food itself... meh!

🍕Food: The menu now has less surf & turf and more currywurst and burgers. I think that's a shame; I preferred the old menu because it was something different. I also find everything a bit expensive. ☕Service: The Coke came without a glass, the bowl came without falafel and sticks (although they come with the meal), and the hot chocolate cup had a crack right on the edge where you drink it... The servers themselves are super friendly and personable, though. ✨Atmosphere: Since it's now downstairs in the Blue Bowl, you can hear the bowling alley very loudly. The terrace is also no longer there.

Nice service but the burgers were only lukewarm

We took a look at the new space. The first impression was positive. The first area looks very inviting, but the noise level from the bowling alleys is a disaster. Soundproofing is absolutely necessary. So we moved to the second area. It's not nearly as cozy or pleasant, though. What's also a shame is that there was no place to sit outside. The planned outdoor area is on/next to the parking lot. That's obviously not possible. The outdoor area of the former Malibu is a bitter loss. A real shame :-(

WOW, what happened here? We ate at Malibu many times, and now all of a sudden it's downstairs in the bowling alley? The selection and quality of the dishes have declined significantly compared to recent years... I still remember being so excited about the surf & turf steak or the giant, self-assembled baked potato... I've never seen such a big potato before. Somehow, nothing is left of the cool and delicious dishes... lackluster burgers that don't taste special anymore, and few other dishes.... The cool and large children's play area was a highlight for our daughter... no longer exists. The amazing terrace, which has even been filled with sand... is no longer there. The chilled Caribbean music that created a bit of a vacation feeling... gone in favor of bowling alley noise. Also, if I order an appetizer using an impersonal QR code instead of a friendly waitress, then the appetizer should come first and not with all the other dishes... that doesn't make sense. In general, ordering via a QR code is totally impersonal and, in my opinion, detracts from the ambiance of a restaurant visit... It's a shame that they're now focusing on bowling guests instead of sticking to this, in my opinion, extraordinary basic idea. Well, all in all, this was our last visit to the Malibu.

Unfortunately, Malibu has declined considerably compared to recent years. I've known Malibu for six years now, and at the beginning, the menu was varied and unusual. Everything that fits the Surf & Turf theme was there. Fruity, exotic dishes, all seasoned excellently. Now, the main courses were mainly burgers and few alternatives. The menu was drastically reduced, and the quality of the existing dishes also declined significantly. The ordering option was a QR code, which is perfectly fine for me. But if the appetizer comes with the main course, that's rubbish. If I order starters, I expect them to be served accordingly. The argument "this has to be specified separately" doesn't count. How am I supposed to know that as a customer if it's not mentioned anywhere? Both issues were politely raised as complaints. The response to this was snarky and also not acceptable. Afterwards, they apologized with an espresso, which I thought was courteous. Nevertheless, I won't be visiting the restaurant again. It's a real shame.

Super friendly waitress on June 5, 2025. Thank you for the humorous stay! I'm happy to pass on the praise. The food was so perfect that I finished two main courses myself. The atmosphere was clean and perfect for the surf & chill theme. I'll definitely be back.

My wife and I spent our second wedding anniversary here. I highly recommend it. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating. She put a lot of effort into the table decorations, which we really liked. Thank you again for that 🤩 The food is amazing, everything is fresh, and the dips for the bread are fantastic. Our visit to Malibu was a complete success. The atmosphere is really nice - also ideal if you are traveling with a larger group. We had a street food bowl and fish and chips - both dishes were super tasty, the portions were large and the price-performance ratio was absolutely right. The food came quickly, was fresh and the service was top: We were particularly impressed by the friendly service - attentive and warm. The menu offers a great selection of different dishes, cocktails and desserts - you'll want to try everything. We would come back to Malibu at any time and can fully recommend it!❤️

We went to the Mexican buffet at Malibu in Bayreuth, and I have to say: it was really, really good! Everything was super fresh, there was plenty of choice, and the taste was simply amazing. Whether it was the meat, the side dishes, or the dips – they had everything you could want. The nachos with cheese and guacamole were also incredibly delicious. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive, the food came quickly, and the atmosphere was relaxed and casual. You can tell the food is cooked with love. We'll definitely be back – it was absolutely worth it!

You can scan the barcode at every table and order directly online, but you can also order from the friendly and attentive staff. Unfriendly service, poor quality cold burgers, homemade fries? Supermarket fries were fried in burnt oil! And juices for 3.70 were cheapest 0.79 cents from supermarket juice.

It was our first time eating at Malibu and we ordered the Malibu Board for two people. The food was really tasty and more than enough for two people. There was a bit of everything on the board thanks to the menu, which made you want to come back. The service was friendly, attentive and we were served quickly (although it wasn't busy at the time of our visit) so we didn't have to wait long for our food. The cocktails were also really good and, at a permanent price of €5.99, unbeatable in terms of price/performance. We'll be back - clear recommendation 👍🏻

I used to go there with my friends to enjoy great food and have a good time. The atmosphere was always pleasant and friendly, which contributed to our unforgettable evenings. The food at Malibu was always excellent – from delicious appetizers to desserts that I still remember today. The mixed drinks were truly fantastic and perfectly complemented our meals. The service was always great, friendly, and helpful, ensuring that we felt welcome and comfortable. We went to Malibu for brunch today as a family and were extremely disappointed. Food choices are more diverse and fresher in a 2 star guesthouse! The service was also partly. sobering!

We went to Malibu for the New Year's Eve menu. Very good, exceptional food. More than plenty! Perfectly coordinated. Attractive atmosphere. Very good, attentive employees. Only recommended. Gladly again - not just on New Year's Eve!

You can't fault the ambience and service. However, the food was unfortunately not outstanding as there was little choice and it arrived lukewarm to cold, among other things. The fries were way too spicy that you could hardly eat them. Other dishes, such as the savoy cabbage, were a bit bland. The portions were more than enough, but unfortunately too expensive for the quality. I don't recommend it, which is a shame as it was unfortunately much better last year and the atmosphere is absolutely brilliant.

Were there today to eat again after a long time... If we hadn't gone there it would have been better! Were very disappointed with the food, it had a very strong taste.. We ate a Caesar salad as a starter and it tasted good and you can't go wrong. The main course was the Malibu Board for two people, which was really a disappointment because the price was absolutely not justified. It was very tasteless, there was a lack of spices (salt!) where there was way too much of the fries and the rest was totally missing... And when the bill came, we thought it wasn't worth going there again. Won't be coming again in the near future, it was very disappointing!

Food wasn't great now. One burger wasn't done. The other tasted really like dishwashing liquid and was served cold. Then the waitress simply came while we were eating our burgers, with a noodle plate that we “apparently” booked via the app. But we didn't. We then had to take the plate and pay, even though we hadn't ordered the plate. We thought it was a disgrace. We weren't even given a price discount. It was very cold in the restaurant. Everyone froze. Definitely won't come again!

I've been to Malibu several times and I'll always come back. I feel welcome every time because the staff always greet you with a smile and are super attentive:) Everything is SO beautifully furnished and decorated, you feel like you're on a beach vacation, especially with the cocktails because they're always available at a happy hour price: ) and then the delicious food with so much choice! I've already tried so much of the menu and I've enjoyed everything so far. I personally really like the burgers and surf turf noodles!

The food is really good, cocktails too. The service was quick and nice. Points are deducted because there is “no classic card” and it is very loud. People come here to eat and have a nice chat, but the music that is way too loud ruins it a bit.

We like to go there as a group of friends because the atmosphere is just really nice and the huge terrace is just great, especially in summer. I can only recommend the restaurant to everyone.

Malibu has often impressed us with its delicious cocktails and great food. This time, however, we were at the new theme evening “100 Things”, where the friendly service convinced us to try the African delicacies and we were once again extremely satisfied. Next time we will definitely be there again!

Unfortunately it wasn't nice this time. First we were given the wrong price (19.90) for the brunch, without drinks, and later we were charged 23.50 without drinks. The warm food was anything but inviting, the tomato sauce stuck to the ravioli, etc. In the end, the waitress was overwhelmed when it came to cashing. So conclusion - Malibu maybe yes. But no longer for brunch. There wasn't that much going on anymore either.

Price performance poor, service very overwhelmed only students who really have no idea. Food is, well, the finest frozen goods for very high prices, really not recommended, which doesn't make up for the beautiful ambience. But the cocktails are quite ok.

Very friendly even with language barrier

Our food was delicious, service was very nice. But for us, good service also includes a PAPER menu!!! Not everyone likes to choose their food via QR code on their cell phone or iPad! Older people in particular prefer to be able to do without smartphones etc., at least when eating. We were there yesterday with friends and everyone was really not amused, not seeing our food on the menu or with explanatory pictures. Should be changed again as soon as possible.

A nice restaurant with a large terrace and lots of evening sun and cocktails at reasonable prices. Unfortunately, the burgers were rather boring and compared to 1-2 other burger locations in Bayreuth, they unfortunately didn't compete. Still a good shop.

Excellent food in a pleasant atmosphere

I went there today for dinner with my partner (it was his first time). The menu is very varied, so there is something for almost every taste. The selection of drinks is great, there is nothing you can't imagine, I love the cocktails and like to try them out. The dish is plentiful and prepared with good quality, so far I haven't been disappointed once. The staff is super friendly, the boss himself is also totally attentive and there if you need anything. The house in which the bar is located at the top looks very abandoned, but that shouldn't put you off. Once in the bar you will immediately be overwhelmed by its atmosphere. There's always something going on, but I've never seen it completely full. Service is quick and friendly. You can definitely have a nice evening there.

Very good food, delicious cocktails, the waiter forgot that we wanted a burger on two plates and came to the table again to apologize for it. Swam over it; May occur. But such an apology is unfortunately rare today. Otherwise the service was very friendly and courteous. There is also a well-equipped play area for the kids. You simply feel comfortable here.

Top service. Enjoy your meal. That was once. The map has now been changed several times and unfortunately it hasn't gotten any better. Unfortunately, the staff fluctuation didn't help either. That's why I unfortunately have to change my rating. We still enjoy going there for cocktails, but we eat somewhere else first.

We were there at the weekend, I thought everything was great, the food was hot and tasty, except for my uncle the beef steak was medium rare and dry - service was very good.

There were four of us in Malibu. I ordered roast beef again because I couldn't find anything else on the menu for me and even though I was disappointed the last few times, just like now. The roast beef was ordered "medium" and then came more than "well done", i.e. fully cooked and bone dry :-( In terms of taste, it just didn't taste like anything, just like the Homestyle Fries. The dressing on the salad that came with it didn't taste like anything either. For €31.90, the roast beef is simply too expensive in its condition and taste. After several times you have to be able to get the roast beef to medium rare. According to my guests, the cocktails tasted quite good. The waitress (young man) was friendly, funny and helpful. The atmosphere takes some getting used to. We sat inside, but also in the cool breeze after the sun had gone. The chairs aren't very comfortable either. I don't necessarily have to have the Malibu again. Unfortunately I can't give a better rating.

We went to the BBQ for the first time, which always takes place on the first Friday of the month. Spareribs, chicken, corn, stuffed peppers, salmon, feta, cevapcici, steak, bratwursts, minced meat bomb and and and. There was also a generous salad and sauce buffet. The service was great and very attentive. The cocktails are very well priced and also very tasty. The ambience is great and takes up the Malibu and beach theme very nicely. We will definitely come back in the summer and try out the terrace.

No longer recommended. The service (more precisely a certain waitress) was very poor and not interested in the guests. It was Friday and not much going on (I understand). The food is expensive and not good, but these aren't actually difficult dishes. I'll start with the burger: we were asked whether it was medium or well done and we ordered well done. Then a burger came that was still bloody. Next, the veggie burger with fries: the vegetarian (there was no vegan burger) burger paddy was only lukewarm and the fries were unsalted and very soft. I wonder when was the last time I had such bad fries. And the vegan baked potato: the salad that came with it was simply not agreed upon and the vegetables were cold and not fried. The only good thing there are the cocktails and the falafel as a starter. Unfortunately, not enough in relation to the negative. You'd better look for another restaurant in Bayreuth.

Had 2 cocktails, appetizers & 2 burgers. The cocktails were okay. After half an hour we started to ask when the starter would come. Shortly afterwards it was there... together with the main course? Then why offer appetizers at all? Oh well. The naan bread for the starter was really hard, some of the dips weren't good. There was no trace of the “crispy bacon” or fried onions. It was a completely soggy burger, with half raw bacon & limp onions. You should be able to expect to get what you order You can also confidently go to McDonalds or put a frozen pizza in the oven. You have more of it and don't pay €70.
