Very friendly service. The meatloaf was also delicious. We'll be back.

We've been coming here regularly at least once a year since 2019. It's always great. The manager recognizes us immediately. The German Shepherd is welcome. The food is great and the beer 🍺 cold. Simply superb. On September 11, 2025, I went here for dinner with my father (88 years old). Since he can no longer eat such large portions, a regular meal was easily converted into a child's portion. That's rare. The service was once again very friendly and competent. My father was very impressed and pleasantly surprised. Like every year, I was here in June, and nothing has changed. Simply great.

We were just there for a quick visit. The ladies there were very accommodating. The drinks were delicious, but we do have one major negative point. It might not be immediately noticeable to those with a slimmer build, but the outdoor chairs are terribly uncomfortable. People with wider hips, or simply those with a squat, won't have much fun here, as the side bars on the chairs really hurt their legs after a while. Perhaps it's worth considering a different type of chair. But otherwise, everything was fine. Unfortunately, we could only stay for one drink because of the lack of chairs.

We sat outside and ate fish and schnitzel. Both were delicious.

The Königsberg fish meatballs were a good recommendation for my husband. I had fish with creamed leeks and mashed potatoes. The seating was a bit uncomfortable, but the taste was OK. Apparently part of a chain of restaurants in Zingst. The price/performance ratio should be reconsidered.

We had coffee and cake. The coffee drinks weren't tasty, in our opinion. The apricot cheesecake was good, but the almond cake didn't have much flavor, just tasted like nothing. Maybe it was just too cold from the fridge. The elderberry iced tea was overpriced. It was just elderberry syrup with water. Not worth the price. The staff was friendly.

Unfortunately, our visit to this restaurant was very disappointing. The service seemed unkempt, and the restaurant itself, especially the interior, appeared dirty. The restroom smelled strongly. The food tasted fine, but after a few minutes, we noticed a long hair in the dish. When we pointed this out to the waitress, she reacted defensively and lacked understanding. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, she made inappropriate comments about my family and the kitchen staff, which made us feel very uncomfortable. Due to this incident and the unhygienic impressions, we cannot recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.

The place is great, centrally located. I wouldn't eat there again. The price/performance ratio isn't right, in my opinion.

The restaurant is recommended for anyone who doesn't care about where they want to sit! A table for two is only available in the less attractive area, preferably in the busiest area between the bar, entrance/exit, and restroom! All other tables seem to be reserved exclusively for four or more people! It's a real shame, the food is really good! I'm sure only "groups" come there; the restaurant would appreciate it if the two of us could simply find something else.

The food was delicious, but the portions could have been larger. The service was poor; our order was forgotten, and several guests who arrived after us were served earlier. They didn't even notice that our order had been lost. When we complained, the food was brought quickly. They could have offered us something as compensation (espresso or a drink), but nothing came. The atmosphere was cold and drafty, with empty tealight holders on the table. We definitely won't be back!

We stopped here for lunch after searching for a long time for a restaurant that also offers a variety of vegan dishes on the menu. The service was super friendly and the food was delicious. A definite recommendation! 👍🏼💚

Unfortunately, the schnitzel and potatoes tasted like they came from an air fryer, which is a shame. The service was otherwise nice, though. The restrooms weren't clean either.

All I can do is quote another guest: "Those who simply want to be full and have no expectations of taste or freshness might be fine here. But those who go out for food to enjoy themselves should probably move on."

We actually wanted to enjoy a nice lunch, but unfortunately, we only got a crash course in "what frozen food tastes like." From the lukewarm vegetables that clearly came straight from a bag, to the bland sauce that seemed like it was made from a powder, to the dessert that probably had been sitting in a supermarket's freezer aisle an hour ago—everything tasted like convenience food rather than home-cooked food. The only fresh thing about this visit was the smiles of the staff. Friendly, attentive, and hard-working—it's a real shame that the kitchen doesn't reflect this commitment. For the price, I would have at least hoped for the appearance of home-cooked food. If you just want to fill yourself up and have no expectations of taste or freshness, you might be fine here. But if you're going out for food to enjoy, you'd better move on.

We weren't impressed by the service. We were told that there was live music in the evenings, but that you'd have to spend more than just a coffee there. Every guest was told the same thing by the woman with the accent. A lot of blah blah! Unnecessary! Only foreign waiters, no local food.

Cake was served before coffee, which followed 5 minutes later. Another 20 minutes later, the waffles arrived. By then, the coffee was cold, or rather, already drunk. €7 for a large bottle of Glashäger mineral water (less than 50 cents when purchased) also seems a bit excessive to us. Service was inattentive. The food tasted good, though.

We were able to eat outside in the perfect weather. There was live music, the atmosphere was great, and the food was delicious and plentiful. The staff was relaxed and cheerful, which made everything feel more intimate – maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but we really liked it that way. There were seven of us plus a stroller, and the staff were very attentive to ensuring that everything was adequately spaced, even though the terrace is usually designed for smaller groups. The value for money is definitely great; we'd be happy to come back. 🥰

We went there for dinner in the evening. I had the chicken noodle stir-fry. It wasn't seasoned at all and tasted of nothing, and all for €21.50. Even a ready meal tastes better. The drink prices are completely unreasonable. A Coke costs €6.50, which is more expensive than a beer in Alster. The staff were very unfriendly and spoke little German.

We ate there twice this week and the food was really delicious. We sat outside once (7/7/25) and inside once (7/11/25). You can see into the kitchen and I must say you can see that everything runs smoothly, calmly and intelligently! Everyone has their role there so it doesn't become chaos. The service leaves a lot to be desired, with an older lady running hectically from point A to point B without having anything under control, getting food and drinks and two young people bringing out food and drinks and you can see that they are being kept to themselves even though the two of them are more capable than the older lady. Getting the drinks and food takes at least 10 minutes even though nothing was happening. If you come from the catering industry yourself you can see straight away what is going wrong, no straight line, hectic, clueless, uncontrolled behavior. Given the number of guests you can even manage it all on your own with everything that goes with it, and elsewhere someone has to have everything under control with everything that goes with it. Conclusion: The older lady acts like the boss and has nothing under control, but really nothing at all! The older lady should urgently work on her communication with guests; the young girl and the young guy were very friendly and polite in their communication. On Monday, the older lady simply cleared our empty glasses without asking if we had anything else to order, so of course we didn't order anything else. On Friday, the plates were taken away as we walked by, and I hadn't even finished everything. As I said, too hectic, uncontrolled behavior, and clueless about what she was doing! I know they're probably not all trained service staff, but some fine-tuning would be good. Not to mention, the service staff are the flagship of the restaurant 🙃

The food was amazing. We had the garden pasta (above) and the sunflower Bolognese (below), and it was truly amazing. You couldn't tell at all that it was "fake" Bolognese. It tasted absolutely amazing. Highly recommended.

Super friendly staff, the food was truly delicious, and overall we had a very pleasant visit! Unfortunately, we have to deduct a star because the glasses and plates weren't completely clean—that was a real shame and somewhat spoiled the overall impression. We suspect it was more the dishwasher's fault than the team itself. Nevertheless, we'd definitely be happy to come back! 😊

We had the Mecklenburg meatloaf, schnitzel, and veggie pasta. It was delicious, and the portion sizes were generous. Great service, and they even baked waffles outside of the usual time for the kids at the next table.

Went there for a fish platter in the evening with wine. Food was good, but not outstanding. What I find disturbing is a 'buddy-like' behavior between host and guest when they don't know each other at all.

The day before we just walked between the tables and were immediately greeted by the super nice waitress. When we told her we just wanted to walk through here, we were warmly greeted. 😀 Today we visited the street again. When looking for a restaurant, we studied all the menus in the area. When we read the menu at the “Zingster Scheune” we found our dishes straight away. As we made our way to the entrance, we were immediately greeted warmly by the waitress from yesterday. Beige dishes “GULASCH LIKE MUDDING” and “CHICKEN NOODLE PAN” were a hit and are highly recommended. Real culinary delights. 😍 In between we chatted very nicely with the friendly service. If we had a restaurant, we would poach them. 🥰👍 Great atmosphere, we really liked the ceiling lamps made from old wooden ladders. 😊 We forgive from the bottom of our hearts ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My first fish solyanka, very tasty and plenty of fish. Very friendly service and nice outdoor area.

Location, service and prices are OK. The food only gets two stars because the sun is shining, otherwise it would only be one star. Frozen schnitzel with a mushy salad addition and the fish fillet turns out to be pangasius. We sit on the Baltic Sea and are served cheap fish from Asia. As a reminder, we are in Fischland-Darß-Zingst!

The waitress asked and sat down. Gone after 20 minutes after the same waitress walked past us 4 times without giving us the card once. Two other tables also came along, they probably sat for a much longer time without being noticed.

Very fast and friendly service! The fish dishes were perfectly balanced and delicious! We found the ambiance here much nicer than in the other fairly large and crowded restaurants nearby and would come back anytime!

The coffee doesn't taste good at all and the waffle is overpriced and doesn't taste particularly good either.

A few days ago we had a very tasty meal in this almost inconspicuous restaurant... freshly cooked and rich. Very friendly staff...hard core very soft shell. Recommended at any time. Although at first glance it somehow reminds you of a pub, the inside is quaint and cozy.

It was a very nice evening. We didn't have a reservation, but we got a table right by the window without any problems. We had schnitzel with mushrooms and Königsberger fish balls. The food was great and very nicely prepared. Thanks for the nice evening.

We were there recently very spontaneously and quite late for the winter (8 p.m.), but were still warmly welcomed and looked after very lovingly. The food came in a huge portion, was freshly prepared and tasted very tasty. I don't necessarily understand the negative comments here. We say thank you and would love to come back!

I had the Mecklenburg meatloaf with prune filling. I didn't know it yet and immediately became a fan. The music in the background was a bit tiring but the good and very attentive staff made up for it!

I ordered a waffle with cherry jelly and cream, unfortunately the waffle tasted like it came from the supermarket and then warmed up in the microwave, more like rubber, I can't recommend it. Too bad!

You could eat the fish of the day. A little slightly oversalted and could have been fried a little longer. Then it would have been at least 4 stars. The tables and chairs are in need of replacement.

When we walked into the restaurant I wanted to leave. It seemed very untidy. The service was quick and friendly, but you should work on hygiene if there is an open kitchen! The “cook” wore a sweater, several bracelets and touched everything in a row with his bare hand. First the can with the corn, then the bottle with the dressing, next it was the fish from the drawer and the onions that were sprinkled over it. The mashed potatoes came out of the microwave and tasted like nothing. We won't be coming back and were a bit shocked by the rather expensive prices.

A nice cafe. Unfortunately the waitress kept asking us whether we wanted alcohol in our coffee ☕️ or cocoa? The waffle was fresh and delicious.

Very good value for money. I was here again today after a few years and it was worth it. Friendly service, really tasty dishes, creatively prepared at reasonable prices. We were here in the off-season and it was very nice again. There aren't many seats inside and it quickly becomes comfortable. Food was great. Apparently it's not open every day in winter, so it's better to call ahead.

We were there twice, once we had lumumba and waffles, once we had real dinner (fish balls, meatloaf). We thought it was really good both times and can't really understand some of the not so good reviews. The service was also friendly, if not always incredibly fast (but that's the case almost everywhere these days due to staff shortages).

Leider nur sehr durchschnittlich. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, das Essen aber nur Durchschnitt bis negativ. Ich schließe mich vorheriger Meinungen an, das Essen kommt teilweise aus der Mikrowelle. Leider hat man von Innengastraum einen guten Blick in die Küche und sieht die ganzen Plastikeimer dort. Im Gastraum selbst stehen Getränkekisten, scheinbar Lagerraummangel. Mein Salat triefte nur so mit Balsamicodressing, wäre es weniger gewesen, wäre es echt lecker gewesen. Das Kartoffelpürree kam aus der Mikrowelle. Die Chefin kam zwar, aber keine Begrüßung der Gäste oder des Personals. Scheint kein gutes Betriebsklima zu sein. Schade, wo doch gutes Personal so selten ist.

Friendly and fast service. Staff also interact well and cheerfully. Original menu design. A good selection of home cooking. Schnitzel with champions in a creamy sauce with halved potatoes from the baking tray. Accompanied by a side salad: lamb's lettuce with tomatoes, sprouts and mustard-honey dressing. Portion filled me up well and was also very appetizingly prepared. My husband chose the Zingster fish platter. There was nothing to complain about in this dish either. The atmosphere in the restaurant was relaxed and there was no problem taking our poodle with us. I liked Alster water with Lübzer Pils excellently. Thank you for the uncomplicated service and the delicious food.

We were three adults, one of whom was always difficult to convince, and two small children. Everyone left the restaurant full and satisfied and we had a lovely evening. The service was very friendly and interested in whether everything was correct. The meatloaf as well as the fish and the salmon noodles were very tasty and the salad as a side dish was one of the few that you also like to eat. The delicious dessert rounded off the evening for the children and the father of the family (author). Conclusion: for us the “negative reviews” are incomprehensible.

The food is quite good, but a bit more expensive for what is on offer. Not justified in this atmosphere between a corner pub and a village pub. The staff/cook sits behind the counter with their butts on the work surface and rests their street shoes on the counter where the plates are usually served.

There is a very extensive menu here. Fish and meat. What we ate. The goulash, very tasty. The young woman who served us seemed a bit insecure to me. Above all, she should speak louder. The beer prices are at hotel level, which is to say very high.

Too bad. Had dinner with the family on vacation. The boss was totally unprofessional and shouted throughout the entire restaurant. Cooks made fun of her when she was gone. Food tasted like nothing and there was a fly in my sauce. I was told that the spritzer was homemade, but when I looked into the kitchen I saw the chef pouring juice from a bottle into the glass. An employee stuck her finger in the food in the kitchen, licked it and then put it back in the food. Salad dressing was said to be good.

We've been to Zingst 6 times now and each time we're disappointed with the barn. Fish not cooked through, no bread with the salad [Bread basket extra €3.50, bread basket means 6 slices of white baguette, far dry] It was the last time for us. Sorry, but there are better restaurants there. Waiters don't understand!
