Very tasty food, prices are 110% worth it

The service staff was very friendly and tried hard, unfortunately the kitchen left a lot to be desired. The food was cold, the salmon was too small and tasted disappointing. In addition, the wrong dish was initially prepared, which further spoiled the overall impression.

Relaxed atmosphere and super delicious food.

I was in the restaurant recently and unfortunately I have to say that the service was really disappointing. The waitress was very unfriendly and even yelled at us because we, as a group of students, didn't leave a tip. It was really unpleasant when she said that the restaurant was making a loss because of us. Such disrespectful treatment is simply not acceptable and inappropriate in a restaurant like this with such good food. From the beginning, no value was placed on us, the service was already bad, and a friend's meal was even forgotten. I can therefore not recommend this restaurant, especially if you value good service. It's a shame, because the atmosphere was actually quite nice.

Eating here is always excellent. Especially in the evenings, when there is a lot going on in Bonn. Excellent dishes. Whether it's curry, bowl or sushi, everything tastes high quality and super good. I recommend trying something different every now and then, it always tastes good and you can't really choose anything wrong. The homemade drinks are all really good too. Very talkative and nice staff. Since it can get quite crowded in such a good restaurant, you should always make a reservation, but you can almost always get a seat if you show up.

I have had the pleasure of visiting ZEN Restaurant many times and each time I am amazed. This restaurant not only offers high quality food, but also an atmosphere that invites you to linger and enjoy. The menu is diverse and includes delicacies such as sushi, pho, curries and much more. No matter what we ordered – everything was delicious without exception! You can immediately tell that the cooking here is done with dedication and passion. The quality of the ingredients, the artful preparation and the authentic taste make every dish an experience. A special highlight is the owner. She is an incredibly warm person whose love for good food is infectious. During our visit she came to every table to make sure everything was OK. She wasn't pushy or seemed like she was looking for praise. Quite the opposite: Her authentic way of talking about her passion for preparing the dishes and her openness in giving us an insight into the history and philosophy of the restaurant made the evening something very special. The ambience at ZEN is also a big plus. It is cozy, inviting and yet modern - a place where you immediately feel at home and forget about time. I can highly recommend ZEN to anyone who values ​​excellent food, first-class service and a pleasant atmosphere. This restaurant is a real gem that I always enjoy visiting! Many thanks to the entire ZEN team – you are doing a great job!

Excellent sushi and other dishes. The increased price is absolutely appropriate for this quality class. Very polite and nice staff. I recommend the Gyozo Chicken as a starter. These were almost better than the very good sushi. The cocktails are also delicious

2 Stars just because it is so expensive! We shared around 4 rolls of vegetarian sushi and 2 Maki rolls and payed 90€!! Without Alkohol, just two sodas. The sushi is fresh and tastes good but isn’t special at all, just the same 5 veggies in different combinations. I can’t understand the price for what you‘re getting 🥲 for almost 20€ per roll I expect something really special and not just basic combinations

We spontaneously went there for lunch with our boys and everyone was absolutely thrilled. The eye is definitely eating here! From Vietnamese starter rolls to poke bowls and classic sushi, everything was delicious and elaborately prepared! We'll definitely be back.

Super tasty sushi - price performance is definitely right here!

There were two of us and we ordered 5 gyoza with chicken and sesame sauce, sweet potato fries with sour cream, a 55 euro sushi plate and a rice noodle bowl with chicken (bun). Costs €96 The menu has several white sheets of paper waiting for it. where you had to muddle through. No pictures so you must already be familiar with types of sushi. Have a look at the pictures from their website. so that we even knew what we were ordering. The gyoza were ok, but with the fries a few pieces of fries were still cold and hard and not fully frozen and the sourcream was just sour cream. The sushi platter looked great and the fish was fresh. More choice of sushi would have been nice, but whatever. (Mostly with cucumber avocado, fish stuffed and fried sushi with mayo - no cream cheese) Pasta bowl was ok again. Conclusion: menu outdated and no pictures We would have hoped for more for the price and the food was just ok. Service was nice and friendly. And for those who want to take a great food photo, the perfect place.

Not only is the ambience cool, the dishes are visually stunning and the amazing thing is that the quality is really good. Compared to all the kebabs around, this restaurant really stands out in every respect and is a fixed star in Bonn.

—-Wouldn’t order sushi there.—- Was there on Saturday around 3 p.m. I ordered salmon avocado and tuna avocado inside out. Tuna wasn't of good quality, but what was worse was that the sushi was completely covered in artificial roe. Had to laboriously remove everything before I could eat it. Unfortunately I was blinded by the good reviews. It may be that people who don't eat a lot of sushi think it's good, but if you have any idea, you shouldn't order sushi there. Please send your chefs to a proper sushi workshop.

Food was good, nice sushi, big portion for the lunch menu, however, when going to pay, everything under 30euro is cash only. This is 2024! I am not carrying cash. Had to go to the bank next door and be charged 5€ to take out cash to pay. I‘ll not come back again.

Schmutzigste abgegriffene/verbrauchte/verknüllte/äußerst unappetitliche billigste Papierseiten mit alten Essens-Flecken, abgestandenen Soßen-Resten. Einfach widerlich! Wir haben uns geekelt! Kein Anti-Krätzen-Spray zur Hand. Sind Unmittelbar aufgestanden und wieder gegangen!

The sushi is highly recommended, high quality and not overpriced and the staff are very friendly! In addition, the ambience is appealing and we found it particularly pleasant that guests were able to take a look into the kitchen.

We recently had dinner there with four people. The tables are very large and have benches. There are cozier options BUT it fits perfectly with the charm and style of the restaurant. The food was great, really tasty, definitely recommended. We mainly ate sushi and the awesome coconut cream soup with chicken. The service was quick and extremely friendly. We are already looking forward to the next visit.

Excellent compared to the price

The food was delicious. Both the starter and the dessert. The service was also very good and clearly friendly! I would deduct a very small point. I didn't like the music that much. It was quite loud and didn't fit the ambience. Otherwise, always happy. ☺️

I visited this sushi bar in August, and it was a fantastic experience! The atmosphere was cozy, with a beautiful interior design. The staff were friendly and spoke English. The service was friendly and the place doesn't have much character but is stylish. I ordered sushi to take away, but when I unpacked it I couldn't believe my eyes. Most of the makis were open on one side and the fish-rice ratio was really zero for many parts. Totally thick, tough chunks of fish. I've had better rice and it wasn't all that cheap. I could have done it better myself. Well, I take it with humor. Quote from a friend: “Was the sushi chef drunk?” hahaha. It's a shame I only saw the whole thing at home. Don't know if there will be another one anytime soon...

I was just here at 4:47 p.m. and have 1 mango mint ordered as a drink……1⭐️ 1 Edamame………3 ⭐️ 1 Canh Chua …….1 ⭐️ 1 24 mini sushi 🍣 rolls ordered 1⭐️ So the mango mint drink is very very sweet and the smell and taste were drowned out by the mint. Edamame is the same as everywhere else, so it's nothing special Canh chua is a Vietnamese national dish and completely misses the taste as well as the appearance (cannot be classified) what it is!!! The 24 mini sushi 🍣 rolls are just filling but no recognizable taste Good service and a good location or decorations with dry ice are not enough; the food and drinks must impress the customer with their quality and taste. Except for the edamame, I always left some left over and even filled the drink. For the menu card, I strongly recommend photos so that customers know what the food looks like!

It's the best sushi I've eaten in Bonn. The portions are good and the taste the yummy! I'm giving the service 3 stars because we had to wait a lot to get our plates, while others who arrived later were served first.

It was one of my favorite restaurants in Bonn and was really good value for money. Unfortunately, prices have increased incredibly. 20€ for a main course, which is not particularly large, and almost 20€ for a roll are simply too expensive. €7.9 for a portion of edamame is a disgrace. The food is delicious, but the prices are not worth it! A real shame!

Super tasty Asian fusion. The ambience was great and the food was also delicious. Had a good meal and drank fruity cocktails here.

I was there recently with a friend. Overall, this restaurant is unfortunately just average for me. The service was OK, with a tendency to be unkind and a bit clumsy at times. We had ordered cocktails and one of the drinks was spilled upon delivery. That's not nice, especially given the prices. The glass also stuck to it when you touched it. No apology. The mojito we ordered only has something to do with the classic mixed drink in terms of taste. No whole ice cubes, but limes in a glass. Something like that leaves me speechless. Food was OK, tried to achieve a visual improvement with schishi. Unfortunately it was nothing more and nothing less. The restaurant wasn't completely full, but some of the empty tables took a while to clear away the used dishes. Some of the staff are intensively involved with each other and their own smartphones, while paying attention to the guests. The menus leave an unsightly impression as they look quite worn out. In this respect, I am still very comfortable with my average rating. For me there is no further visit here.

The food is really tasty and it's worth going there. BUT! The price is far too high and unreasonable. The service clearly needs to be worked on - the waiters walk past you without checking to see if the customer needs anything else and in a restaurant that is not full you have to wait 20 minutes for the bill or generally be noticed until you can place the order Not be!

A stylishly decorated restaurant with really great staff and very fresh and excellent food. Here you are treated like a regular on your first visit and from the second you already know the name. The food is always prepared fresh and of the highest quality, and the fish in the display case catches your eye. The soups and meat dishes are also great. In summer, good air conditioning in the interior ensures very pleasant temperatures, and you can also sit outside. Prices are absolutely reasonable and delicious wines are also available. The central location on Suttnerplatz ensures easy accessibility. We always look forward to coming back! At the moment there are also excellent Christmas menus, these are also highly recommended!!

Very tasty food and good service. The two of us shared the appetizer platter and the mochi ice cream for a little afternoon snack. Very nicely presented and very tasty. The restaurant is nicely designed, but the long benches are not comfortable to sit or sit down. Due to the location it is quite loud.

Really really good and tasty restaurant.  I actually only came with my family because we were celebrating a birthday. I left the restaurant as a sushi lover. Really only recommended. Staff also very friendly. The atmosphere is also very pleasant.

Frankly, I just didn't like the curry mango. There was nothing special about it. But the food was objectively well done and I appreciate the service and the very nice interior design.

We had dinner with around 20 people after our civil wedding and were well served. There was even a bit of decoration put up specifically for the occasion. And the location is also very beautiful. We were accommodated in a slightly separated area so that we were among ourselves. The food was fantastic as always. Every guest raved about it. Thank you for the great service and the great food!

Despite the fact that the restaurant is on a large main street, you can eat both inside and outside. The service is friendly and quick and the food is simply wonderful. You might pay a little bit more than in other restaurants. But the food is definitely worth the price. It's super fresh, beautifully prepared and tastes extremely good too. I can only recommend this restaurant.

The Zen Sushi Restaurant in Bonn offers a great sushi selection. The ingredients are fresh and the dishes are creatively presented. The atmosphere is modern and stylish, ideal for a relaxed evening. The staff is very nice and accommodating, which makes the experience even more pleasant. Prices are in the mid to high range, but are totally justified given the quality of the food and service. In short: If you are looking for the best sushi in Bonn, you should definitely try Zen Sushi. It is worth it!

Inauthentic Japanese restaurant. Unacceptable wait to be served (the order was lost in the 15 meters that separated us from the kitchen). Inability to pay by American Express because it would cut into their margin (sic). Inability to pay by credit card for an amount less than 50 euros. Catering is part of the SERVICES sector and it would be good for this establishment to ask itself some questions.

Impossibilité de payer par American Express car cela rognerait leur marge (sic). Impossibilité de payer par carte bancaire pour un montant inférieur à 50 euros. La restauration fait partie du secteur des SERVICES et il serait bon que cet établissement se pose quelques questions.

Sehr ansprechendes Business-Lunch. Stand April 2024 liegen die Mittagsgerichte inkl. Getränke bei ca. 16.00 - 19.00 Euro. Dafür bekommt man aber auch eine Top-Qualität

I got to know ZEN through a culinary scavenger hunt. I really like the furnishings and the ambience, especially the beautiful decorations on the ceiling and the indirect, cozy lighting. The dishes are particularly beautifully presented on the plates and are really exceptionally tasty. I always order without peanuts and it worked every time. ZEN can also be easily reached by bus and train.

-Attentive service -Main courses too small. Bun doesn't work at all, what you get as a grown man for just under €16.00. You won't get enough of it. That's a disgrace, even though you've already had a starter. -Atmosphere simple and clean. You feel good. Conclusion: I went there for the second time and didn't get full. But ordering the dish twice doesn't make sense. I'd rather go somewhere else that serves generous portions. No recommendation from me!

The food is good. The service from one waitress is really bad. It makes me feel I am begging for food, but not they are offering food. And she just take all things away when we just finished our food and still sitting there and chatting. The food is good but we could also go some where else to enjoy the other food instead suffering these services.

We have been to ZEN countless times and are always thrilled! This time we ordered sushi “Kamasutra” and it was just incredibly fresh and delicious. The food is always beautifully prepared. The service is courteous, always friendly and you always experience ZEN in a very casual, cozy and friendly atmosphere. Our absolute favorite place <3

It wasn't the first time there but definitely the last time! You feel (and are treated like that) like a chicken on the rack that needs to be processed as quickly as possible. Food was ok. The way you are treated there is catastrophic. NEVER AGAIN!

We ordered food online, where only the old menu is available. It was NOT pointed out that the dish no longer exists and simply wrote down another dish for which we were charged an extra €10 without us being made aware of it. Furthermore, when we picked it up, we were cheekily told that the price had been quoted to us over the phone, which is absolutely not true. Very cheeky and snippy answers and no helpfulness. Also €4 for pasta instead of rice…

The two of us wanted to eat at Zen. The day before we called there to reserve a table for 6 p.m. We were told that there was no need to reserve a table for two people at that time and that we should just come. When we got there the restaurant was busy and because there wasn't much space we had to sit at the table with other people. This isn't a big problem for us per se, but it did mean that we had to sit at the end of a table right next to the door, from which cold air was constantly blowing towards us. If we had had the opportunity to make a reservation, this could have been avoided. The restaurant became fuller and more and more people were seated at tables that were actually already occupied. We heard the boss telling her employees to work faster so the tables could be freed up. It didn't seem like the employees were being treated fairly. At first we sat next to each other at the table, but at the end of our visit we were asked to sit opposite each other so that another group could sit at the table. So we ended up sitting tightly on the benches and were able to involuntarily follow the conversations of those sitting next to us. We were denied a private atmosphere and instead felt like chickens on a perch. On the whole, you got the feeling, especially from the boss, that the restaurant wanted to fill its coffers by serving as many guests as possible at the same time and as quickly as possible. Although the food is good, unfortunately we will not be visiting the restaurant again because of this experience. There are others where we could have had a much nicer evening.

Since there are only large tables, you may end up sitting with other guests, but I don't think that's a bad thing. The restaurant was very busy on Friday evening, so make sure you make a reservation! Everything tasted great! The employees are well trained and were able to provide competent advice regarding ingredients due to allergies. They were also super warm and radiated positive energy, even though they had their hands full. Really, really great restaurant!
