Zeitwerk in Wernigerode

We were given this wonderful experience as a gift. You absolutely must make a reservation in advance. You can also specify exactly what you might not eat or tolerate. The staff will also ask you again shortly before the experience. The evening itself is an experience in itself. A small, intimate gathering with excellent explanations of the food for each course and an optional drink package. The food was a pleasant surprise for me, as a picky eater. Except for one course and a small change to another (which was immediately addressed on site), I ate everything and really liked almost everything. You definitely have to get involved and be open to new things. I would also like to particularly mention the fantastic and friendly service staff. They guided us through the evening and entertained us for almost three hours. Fantastic! A quick word about the ambiance: I personally found it a little too dark over the course of the evening, and I missed the view outside, as I like to let my gaze wander from time to time. But I also understand the meaning behind it and that you can and should fully immerse yourself in the experience.

Dear Zeitwerk team, I don't even know how to express our gratitude. It was simply amazing; we can't think of any other words to describe our event on August 1, 2025, at Zeitwerk. What you conjured up for the guests was a true delight. An explosion of taste buds. The flair, the fantastic atmosphere, and the excellent company of the girls can't be topped. I gave this experience to my wife as a gift, and it was a perfect match. She was/is so thrilled and will probably remember and enjoy it forever. And there are no coincidences. This wonderful experience is thanks to the fact that we had actually booked the Pietsch restaurant, but we were informed shortly beforehand that we couldn't make it because a major event was already taking place there. So we chose Zeitwerk... it was the best thing that could have happened to us. So once again, thank you very much, and we will recommend you wholeheartedly.

A birthday present for my grandson (a young chef). It was a wonderful evening with many culinary delights. Everything just works here. The cold solyanka and the parsley ice cream were our favorites. We'll be back. Thanks again to the kitchen and the service.

We were at Pietsch three years ago and absolutely loved it. Yesterday we decided to try Zeitwerk, and we have to say we weren't disappointed. The food was phenomenal, with an intensity of aromas and flavors. And the staff was very friendly and attentive. We felt very comfortable all around. An experience! The food at Zeitwerk has nothing to do with cooking or nutrition in the traditional sense; it's art! Every course was a delight, filled with anticipation of the next course. It's certainly expensive, but for us, it was worth every euro!

The service is outstanding. Everything is very cozy. The restaurant had five tables, and they called it their "living room," and that was a good fit. It was very personal and gave us a lot of pleasure. The food was very refined, with classics reinterpreted and excellently executed. I also really liked the large window into the kitchen, as it allowed you to see what was being conjured up. I'd love to go back!

The Zeitwerk's cuisine is incisive, distinctive, and imaginative. Using regional produce from the Harz Mountains and surrounding areas, the team succeeds in creating dishes that exude a sense of tension yet never lose their harmony. Very pleasant and attentive service guides you through the evening in a relaxed manner. The wine list includes some of the most exciting winemakers in the Saale-Unstrut region. I wouldn't be surprised if the second star isn't far behind.

We were absolutely blown away. The service was fantastic! The menu was fantastic, the drinks (designed by ourselves, together as a team (alcohol-free)) were daring but top-notch. Even without notice, my pregnancy was taken into consideration and discussed. Everything was explained in detail. They constantly checked that the glasses were watery. The dishes were very clear and well-designed. The restroom was very clean, and everything was taken care of. The chefs worked hand in hand. And the staff were only friendly. Thank you for the wonderful last evening we were able to spend as a couple (soon to be three). 💝

The food was memorable, tasty, and a journey of earthy flavors. The German wines complimented the food, making everything come together as one. The service was at times intrusively efficient and their playlist reminded me of how bad German taste can be, but if you're into food and wine from the highest German peaks, then head to the beautiful Harz.

A menu that begins and ends at the same time for all guests was a new - and very pleasant - experience for us. The dim atmosphere was really reminiscent of a living room, but of course what really stood out was the food and service. We had requested a vegetarian menu and were pleasantly surprised that only nuances of the regular menu were changed in each course. So we had the feeling that we were experiencing the same menu as other guests, but adapted to our diet. Thanks for that! This culinary experience went exactly as we had hoped. There were 9 of us in total and took up almost 50% of all available places. As soon as you entered the restaurant you were greeted professionally but warmly. The rest of the evening went exactly the same way and so, in addition to the tasty creations, which together with the wine/non-alcoholic accompaniment sometimes left a magical impression on the palate, we had very attentive employees who gave a short but sufficient explanation of each course. It was a great experience for us.

Conditional recommendation, as the discrepancy between food/drinks and their costs on the one hand and service and ambience on the other is too great.

As soon as we entered the restaurant we were greeted very friendly by the staff. The ambience in a modern, elegant style gave us a welcoming and inviting feeling right from the start and invited us to linger. The menu with many small courses was very delicious. Simple classic dishes reinterpreted with a lot of creativity and finesse. The dishes were not difficult to understand or taste; the dishes were always explained clearly from course to course. The alcohol-free drinking accompaniment was created very creatively and imaginatively and was in no way inferior to the wine accompaniment. The service was friendly and relaxed and gave us a completely carefree feeling at all times. The restaurant is highly recommended, especially for gourmets who are making their first experience in star gastro. I really enjoyed my visit to the Zeitwerk and will be back next year for the Neue Karte.

The food is so good - my favourite dishes were the pork cheek with pearl barley risotto, the Tote Oma (potato, cabbage and sausage) and the bread course which had some of the most amazing bread I have ever tasted. The servers were very friendly and were very kind to explain all the dishes to me in English as well. Finally, thought that the wine pairing was really interesting - got to taste some very delicious German white wines including some which were made specially for this restaurant.

Wir waren am 08. März zu einem 12-Gänge-Menü im Zeitwerk. Es war für uns ein wirklich unvergesslicher Abend. Jeden Bissen haben wir genossen. Die empfohlene Weinbegleitung sowie das außerordentlich zuvorkommende, freundliche & geschulte Team hat den Abend für uns perfekt gemacht. Eigentlich bekannte Speisen und Zutaten, wie z.B. Senfei, völlig neu zubereitet und in einer Atmosphärezum Wohlfühlen serviert. Einfach ein Genuss. Das werden wir ganz sicher wiederholen.

As a regular restaurant guest, my visit to Zeitwerk in Wernigerode was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The evening was characterized by a harmonious overall experience that impressed on several levels. The service was attentive, unobtrusive, and very well-trained. Each course was competently announced, and questions were answered precisely and friendly. Particularly noteworthy is the non-alcoholic beverage pairing, which by no means seemed a mere substitute, but rather a composition in its own right. It represented a thoughtful complement to the menu – aromatically complex, creative, and clearly coordinated with the dishes. A sensory delight that will stay with you. The menu itself was balanced and harmoniously structured. The courses flowed seamlessly into one another, without interruptions or overload. Overall a good experience. The food was very attractively prepared and tasty. The wine accompaniment could have been a little bit more in the glass. The juice accompaniment was something special, something completely different. We thought it was a shame that Robin Pietsch didn't show up at all and there could have been a little introduction or a few words to start the evening instead of just starting like that.

Our evening "short break" at Zeitwerk was pretty perfect throughout. Top-notch service, very attentive, extremely friendly, and above all, in a good mood and full of fun, with a few friendly remarks on the tongue. We laughed and enjoyed these wonderful courses. It was truly a special occasion for us, yet you immediately felt at home. There was something for every taste; one dish appeals to you 150%, while another might only appeal to you 80% – tastes are different, after all. I'm a mostly pescatarian, but in such top restaurants, I simply enjoy ingredients that I wouldn't actively order anywhere else. I wouldn't want to order anything off the menu. Nice wine selection: despite the phenomenal alcoholic accompaniment, I "stole" a sip of wine each round and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our highlight: the mushroom course with an upgrade. We'd be happy to return and can definitely recommend it.

It was our first time in a gourmet restaurant and we absolutely loved it. Every course, every dish was so lovingly prepared that you just wanted to look at it and not eat it, but everything tasted excellent. The super nice team guided us perfectly through the evening. For this purpose, we converted the entire Audi hangar into a first-class restaurant. The event was rounded off musically by the band “barcoustics”. Unser Besuch im Restaurant Zeitwerk war ein großartiges kulinarisches Erlebnis. Das Restaurant bietet eine lässige, entspannte Atmosphäre, kombiniert mit einer modernen und stilvollen Einrichtung – man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Das Zeitwerk ist ein Menürestaurant, für pescetarische oder vegetarische Gäste werden Alternativen angeboten, die genauso durchdacht und hochwertig sind wie die Gerichte mit Fleisch oder Fisch. Besonders beeindruckend fanden wir die alkoholfreie Getränkebegleitung. Sie ist sehr kreativ und wird hausgemacht, mit einer sorgfältigen Abstimmung auf die einzelnen Gerichte. Die Basis bilden meist Tees, Säfte und Kombucha – alles in außergewöhnlichen Kombinationen. Ein Highlight war eine Begleitung mit geräucherter Milch, die perfekt zum Gericht passte. Obwohl auch die Weinbegleitung sehr stimmig war, hat uns die alkoholfreie Variante sogar noch mehr begeistert. Die Gerichte selbst sind aromatisch, raffiniert und haben einen klaren Fokus auf regionale Zutaten. Der Service war äußerst freundlich, aufmerksam und kompetent.

Zeitwerk is a set menu restaurant, and pescatarian or vegetarian guests are offered alternatives that are just as thoughtful and high-quality as the meat or fish dishes. We were particularly impressed by the non-alcoholic beverage selection. It is very creative and homemade, carefully matched to the individual dishes. The base is teas, juices, and kombucha – all in unusual combinations. A highlight was a smoked milk accompaniment, which perfectly complemented the dish. Although the wine pairing was also very harmonious, we were even more impressed by the non-alcoholic version. The dishes themselves are aromatic, sophisticated, and have a clear focus on regional ingredients. The service was extremely friendly, attentive, and competent.

On Saturday November 30th, 2024 we spent a wonderfully beautiful and culinary exciting and super tasty evening at the Zeitwerk in Wernigerode. Every single course (there were thirteen of them) was a real treat for the palate and a feast for the eyes. The ladies and also the chefs at the Zeitwerk made it unforgettable with their outstanding service. Only when leaving the restaurant you weren't accompanied/helped to put on your jacket like you were at the beginning. But that would be complaining on a high level! Keep it up. Kind regards M. October 30, 2024 was supposed to be a very special culinary experience for us and we were looking forward to it for a long time. Somehow it was special, particularly little and particularly expensive. The menu wasn't particularly special for us, neither special types of fish or meat nor a presentation of the dishes that was appropriate for the price. For us, egg and mustard sauce were not the slightly different taste that speaks for a star cuisine, The pointed cabbage as part of the “dead grandma” dish was far too salty, the piece of beef was so tiny that the taste could hardly be perceived, and we could only guess that the soup was on the plate. The dessert simply lacked sophistication. A cream puff is not what we expected. We were very disappointed. The price in no way reflects what is presented. The portion size was unreasonable, if that means star cuisine, something is wrong. Too bad.

Unfortunately it was a disappointing evening. The constant asking about the courses was annoying. We found the atmosphere shockingly simple and not worthy of the price. The food itself wasn't a highlight and nothing we didn't already know. At these usual prices we expect exceptional food. There was no feeling of well-being either. It's a SHAME that Mr. Pietsch is showing off his regional compatriots with this exorbitant price. We know fine dining and unfortunately have to describe this visit as our worst fine dining experience.

The stay at ZeitWerk was really a highlight! Above all, the attentive and incredibly entertaining service, alongside the food, ensured an unforgettable evening. Even if individual courses (e.g. the meat course or the mustard egg) were not completely convincing, the menu was still worth every euro. However, the new location seems a bit plain and cold, and the furniture is quite simple. In any case, it can hardly be described as a “living room” anymore.

Always for our wedding anniversary, we'll do it again next year.

Very good creative cuisine and something for the eye and palate. What doesn't top it all off are the exobitant trade mishaps on the alcoholic drinks (e.g. Teroldego Madonna delle Vittorie). I can order them online at a very reasonable price. I find that more than worrying. for a restaurant. I find it strange that there is only one toilet for both genders. Overall, thanks to the good service, it was a good evening and an experience that doesn't need to be repeated. The spatial environment and the interior design radiate a chilled ambience.

We have already been to “Pietzsch” and now to Zeitwerk: It was a great evening, the individual courses were fantastic, the “dead grandma” upgrade is definitely recommended. The taste, the aromas of the little “works of art” dishes were indescribable!!! The drinks too! The service was very engaging and (a little too) formal! Unfortunately, the service could not answer all questions about the food. Too bad! We would also have liked more regional selection of drinks (Harz region). Especially since the focus was on the menu with Harz specialties. Here, for example, only two juice spritzers were offered as non-alcoholic drinks from the Altmark. The atmosphere is modern and sober, we loved the glass kitchen. All in all, an incredible taste experience, at a hefty price, but definitely worth it!!!

Sehr gute kreative Küche und etwas für das Auge +Gaumen. Was die ganze nicht abrundet, sind die exobitanten Handelspannen, auf die alkoholischen Getränke ( z.B. Teroldego Madonna delle Vittorie VK 10,90 , im Ek unter 10 Euro). Das empfinde ich, mehr als Bedenklich. für ein Restaurant. Seltsam finde ich, das nur ein WC für beide Geschlechter vorhanden ist. Insgesamt war es dank des guten Services, ein guter Abend und eine Erfahrung wert, der es allerdings keiner Wiederholung bedarf. P.S. Das räumliche Umfeld und die Innenausstattung, strahlt ein unterkühltes Ambiente aus.

We were able to be guests at the Zeitwerk last night. There was a lot of excitement in advance, as such visits are not an everyday occurrence for us. Our expectations were far exceeded. The staff welcomed us so warmly that we were able to quickly overcome our awkwardness. The individual courses were incredible explosions of flavor and a feast for the eyes. The accompanying wines were excellently matched in taste to the food and were expertly explained by the service. That was really an absolutely extravagant visit to a restaurant. Very tasty and lovingly prepared dishes made from regional products, with a perfect accompaniment of wine and juices. The staff were appropriately relaxed and surprisingly fresh in their explanations. All food and drinks were well described and questions could be responded to with absolute expertise. I would like to give it six stars, but unfortunately Google only allows five. Conclusion: Not exactly cheap but definitely recommended for a successful evening in a gourmet atmosphere.

For me personally, the two courses with fish were a big positive surprise, as I'm actually not a fan of fish at all. Die Erwartungen an den Abend waren entsprechend hoch. Pünktlich 19:00Uhr geht es los; nur nach Reservierung. Der Raum ist relativ klein, sehr familiär, gleicht eher einer Wohnzimmeratmosphäre. Die Inneneinrichtung trägt ihren Teil dazu bei. Ein Blick in die Küche ist möglich. Wir empfanden das als angenehm. Obwohl es bei vollem Haus schon tendenziell lauter und quirlliger zugehen wird. Es werden viele kleine Gänge serviert. Die teils sehr unterschiedlichen Portionen sind allesamt sehr lecker gewesen und optisch ein Hingucker. Ich kann nur eingeschränkt die Meinungen mancher Besucher nachvollziehen, die schreiben, es ist sehr wenig für das Geld. Wenn ich in ein Sternerestaurant gehe, erwarte ich keine Mengen von Essen, sondern eine gehobene Küche mit besonderer Zubereitung. Man geht hier zu einem Künstler der Küche, der sein Handwerk versteht. Man isst quasi seine Kunst. Das so ein ungewöhnlicher, kulinarischer Abend Geld kostet steht ausser Frage. Wir sind teils gute Esser und wir sind hungrig zu dem Restaurant gegangen. Nach den 3 Stunden sind wir satt gewesen. Etwas einschränkend möchte ich erwähnen, dass die sehr spezielle Ausswahl der Getränke (Wein) sich schon preislich, nicht geschmacklich, mit 15€ für 01 l an der Grenze bewegen. In einigen wenigen Momenten des Abends empfand ich auch die Geräuschkulisse (Personal, Musik) etwas zu laut. Zusammenfassend kann man festhalten; ein besonderer Abend mit sehr leckerem Essen, gekocht von Künstlern, serviert von freundlichem Personal. Auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung!

Nach ca. 2 Jahren wieder einmal im Zeitwerk. Ich kann nur sagen Regional Phänomenal. Angefangen mit Weißwein im Brunnenhof der super schön gestaltet ist. Dann wurden wir herein gebeten und zum Platz geführt. Das Ambiente im Inneren ist wundervoll auf die Region abgestimmt. Wir saßen neben der Küche und konnten bei der Zubereitung der Speisen zusehen. Fazit Wir haben uns sehr umsorgt gefühlt, Die Weinauswahl war Fantastisch. Das Essen war super. Mein Liebling Die Tote Oma :) Danke an alle die uns so wunderbar durch den Abend geführt haben. The restaurant itself and the entire service are really great and there is nothing to complain about. What I would just like to bring up is the stairs on the way to the restaurant. For someone who is no longer able to walk so well, it is a real problem to overcome this. Because there is not a railing over the entire staircase to hold on to. Maybe an improvement can be made there.

A very nice evening. Ambiance perfect, service perfect and the food... a dream. Every single course was tasty, it was a real pleasure and we were really full at the end... If you don't like wine accompaniment, we recommend that you ALWAYS take the non-alcoholic accompaniment. These drinks are spectacular. Each course was explained and brought to the table with great unanimity by the waiter. The service staff was great. Very relaxed and we always had something to laugh about. Herr Pietsch ist ja nun omnipräsent im TV, so dass wir beim Erstbesuch des Zeitwerkes ein wenig befürchtet haben, dass dort eine Abfertigungsmaschinerie abläuft. Das war nicht der Fall, im Gegenteil der Service war ausgesprochen aufmerksam und hilfreich, lediglich der Sommelier ist so laut, dass er die Gespräche an den anderen Tischen stört. Besonders beeindruckt hat mich die Verwendung regionaler Produkte. Ein wirklich tolles Erlebnis, eine Küche auf hohem Niveau.

We had a very nice evening at the Zeitwerk last week. The restaurant is modernly furnished. The service staff is friendly, always present but not intrusive. The menu was very, very good. The individual courses tasted great, varied and were always very nicely presented. The service staff also provided information on how to prepare it. At the end, the kitchen crew appeared in the restaurant and thanked us for the visit. That was a very nice gesture, especially since we as guests were able to thank them for their cooking skills with a little applause. I can only recommend a visit to the Zeitwerk restaurant and will definitely visit the second restaurant “Pietsch” as well.

Brunnenhof Zeitwerk enjoyed our food and drinks in a great, appealing atmosphere. Everything was very tasty, great service, we would love to come back.

It's a cozy restaurant for a great evening with excellent food. When registering, you can specify whether you are a vegetarian or pesce vegetarian (vegan wasn't an option, but we didn't ask). A wide variety of flavors are presented in the different courses, which always offers surprises. To describe this in detail would go beyond the scope of this article. The staff is extremely attentive and at the same time reserved and can provide competent information. The open kitchen is also presented in this way; chefs always come along with the service and explain the next course. The wine list is not very large, but varied and there is something for every taste. Unfortunately, the wine accompaniment could not be enjoyed, next time we will book an overnight stay in Halberstadt... Overall, an extremely successful evening that was worth every cent.

Im August 2018 hatten wir das erste Mal vom 'Zeitwerk' gelesen - da mussten wir irgendwann mal hin. Am vergangenen Samstag, 06. Juli war es dann soweit - wir waren als Familie im 'Zeitwerk' zu Gast. Wir haben ein 'ausgezeichnet' vergeben, denn es war einfach WOW - ein Geschmackserlebnis mit Wohlfühlservice. Wegen unserer Essensgewohnheiten hatten wir als Familie sowohl das Menü auch als vegetarische Variante, die Wein- als auch die Saftbegleitung - jedes für sich zT völlig unerwartet und doch so stimmig. Das Team hat uns super begleitet und ganz viel erläutert. Auf meine Frage nach einer Weinschorle wurde etwas erschüttert - so tolle Weine mit Wasser zu verdünnen - ja, doch ihr habt ja recht .. ;-) - aber professionell reagiert. Wir hatte eine tolle Reise durch Oma Christas Garten, durch die Region und ein ordentliches Stück darüber hinaus - habt ganz vielen Dank dafür. Liebe Grüße

Wir haben einen rundum gelungenen Abend verbracht: sehr leckeres Essen, dem Konzept entsprechend vertraute Gerichte aus Omas Küche mit einer ganz besonderen Geschmacksvielfalt und meist gepaart mit einer Überraschung für den Gaumen, sehr netter Service, schönes Ambiente,… Und wer denkt, die Kombination Aal und Morchel könne nicht schmecken, darf sich im Zeitwerk gern eines Besseren belehren lassen. Einfach köstlich! Auch die Weinbegleitung hat uns gut gefallen.

Wie immer ein genialer kulinarischer Genuss sowohl für den Gaumen als auch für das Auge. War bereits das 7 mal dort! Das Intro mit der Zwiebel war genial. Schön, dassdie Brotmahlzeit beibehalten wurde.

Tops: angenehme Atmosphäre, sehr aufmerksamer unaufdringlicher Service, sehr kreative Küche mit herausragender Optik, Aromenspektakel.

Regional, seasonal cuisine without any frills. Nothing molecular, nothing fusion. You reminisce about what grandma used to cook. The wine accompaniment is very well coordinated and the coffee at the end is also served in a very visually appealing way.

An experience and an experience that should be fulfilled once in a lifetime. Even if you are new or go to a restaurant like this for the first time, we didn't feel left alone at Zeitwerk, the service team was very nice, friendly, explanatory and leading. The team in the kitchen conjured up very tasty things on the table and experiencing such a world of taste, celebrating, is something special. You could feel the work that went into it. Culinary masterpiece that enchants the senses!! The menu and the accompanying non-alcoholic accompaniment are perfectly coordinated. Excellent service with humor.

The food was simply great. It impresses with a new interpretation of well-known classics, which surprise with every bite. The combination with the accompanying drink, in my case non-alcoholic, brings out additional nuances of taste. When you eat, you quickly understand how the individual components should interact with each other to achieve the desired result. What I was most surprised about was that ingredients that are not normally my cup of tea still manage to impress as well as satisfy the palate. The reference to the region in almost every course was also excellent. Maybe I don't know enough about the region to see the connection in the aisles where I didn't see it. The portions of the courses are not large, but overall more than enough to fill you up. Unfortunately, my companion couldn't even try the last one because she was already too full. I would say the perfect amount. The service was very attentive and impressed with humor and friendliness. He also answered questions, was not intrusive but was always there. You felt completely comfortable. Of course, everyone on the staff knew what they had to say about the individual courses and drinks, just as they wanted. Some may find it strange, but in my opinion it's just part of it. The service created a personal atmosphere without disturbing the sense of what is important. The ambience was convincing with a relaxed arrangement of tables and seats. The music was nice, not intrusive or distracting. The furnishings are simple but not too formal, creating a feel-good atmosphere like home. Because the curtains didn't reveal the changes in lighting conditions over the course of the evening, the almost 4 hours flew by. All in all, the evening was more than worth it, despite the hefty price, I would say it was worth every cent.

Very impressive evening with a relaxed atmosphere, perfect accompaniment from the competent team and every course a delight with a regional connection. Wine and non-alcoholic accompaniments are definitely recommended, as these transform each course into a work of art for the palate.

If you want to treat yourself to culinary delights, you should visit the Zeitwerk (starred chef R. Pietsch).

Visiting the restaurant at Zeitwerk was a wonderful experience and a culinary highlight, everything was just right. I can definitely recommend it!
