The quality of the food is very high, which is to be expected given the high prices. For me, it's ultimately too expensive to really fill me up. The taste is great, but I find the quantity a bit too small.

It's been a while since I had proper sushi. The white wine was also good.

We're just back from dinner. We were there for the sixth time, and today will definitely be our last. The food is good, but the atmosphere has nothing to do with Japanese hospitality. If you just want a good meal and are happy to be asked to leave the restaurant after an hour and a half, it's fine. If you want a pleasant evening, go somewhere else.

A great restaurant! The sushi is simply incredible - melts in your mouth, just like we are used to in our homeland. I have never eaten tastier sushi in Germany! Be sure to book a table in advance, because it is always full, and the restaurant itself is quite small. Parking is difficult, but the restaurant itself is simply top notch. I highly recommend it!

The wait time, whether for the food, the waitress, or the bill, is outrageous. We waited at least 20 minutes to order, 20-30 minutes for the food itself, and then another 20 minutes for the bill before we got up and paid at the counter!

It's OK but I was expecting more. Food is good but not exceptional. We waited extremely long for our main dishes. There was some homeless drunk guy making a mess at the tables next to us and almost fell on our table, we were scared but the staff didn't do anything about it. Would be better if the staff didn't let people like this hang around the tables there. And you cannot pay with card (only EC card but who still has that?) its kinda ridiculous that you cannot use Visa or mastercard in 2025 🤪

Highly recommended! I had the vegan gyoza for starters, the sushi variation for one person for the main course, and mochi ice cream for dessert. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented.

The food tasted great and was fresh and of good quality. The service was very accommodating, as was the kitchen! We ordered the appetizer platter and asked for vegan options. The platter was beautifully presented, with half of it vegan! (For two people, one of whom was vegan). I think the vegan selection is great, but I would like to see a few more options. Otherwise, a very nice, small atmosphere.

The sushi was excellent, as were the appetizers. The homemade lemonade was very tasty but, in my opinion, overpriced. The service was very attentive and quick. I sat outside and found the chairs very uncomfortable; it could be nicer. The prices are rather high, but the quality of the food is correspondingly good.

I was absolutely thrilled! The sushi here is incredibly fresh and tastes simply amazing. You can immediately tell the quality of the ingredients is top-notch. The fish was super tender and melted in your mouth. The atmosphere was relaxed, the staff super friendly, and you immediately felt at home. All in all: If you love sushi, you should definitely stop by here. I'll definitely be back!

A real gem on Friedrich-Ebert-Straße! This sushi restaurant is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places Wuppertal has to offer. The interior is designed with so much attention to detail that when you enter you immediately feel like you have been transported to another world - stylish, elegant and simply beautiful. The staff also wears traditional clothing, which underlines the special flair. And the sushi? A dream. I can say with complete conviction: This was the best sushi I have ever eaten. Even compared to high-quality mid-range sushi restaurants, this one stands out in terms of taste. Every bite was an experience – fresh, finely composed and prepared to the highest standard. The drinks menu is also extravagant and original. I tried a creative lemonade creation with oolong tea, passion fruit and orange - incredibly delicious and a great addition to the meal. Since I came by spontaneously, I unfortunately didn't have a reservation and had to take a seat outside. If the weather is nice, this is completely fine - but I would still recommend booking in advance to be able to enjoy the fantastic atmosphere inside. The furnishings are not only beautiful, but downright intoxicating. An all-round great experience that I can recommend to anyone who loves good sushi - or just wants to treat themselves to something special.

Very tasty...everything fresh. You have to think about the order of the dishes beforehand and announce it. Otherwise, the main course and the main course come at the same time. I found it annoying. Very good quality of food, with fresh and tasty fish. The rice bowls are very tasty. Like every sushi restaurant in Germany, I find that the prices per roll are exorbitantly expensive. That's why I preferred to order a bowl that cost even a little less than a fusion style roll. The lunch menu has very little Japanese offering. The restaurant is beautiful and very well maintained.

No recommendation to anyone, terrible mentality. They negotiate to kick you out in 90 mins all the way. They don't accept cards, no flexibility, no hospitality nothing. STAY AWAY! TERRIBLE

The Zaiko is great! For lunch there are delicious lunch dishes with miso soup. In the evening you definitely have to make a reservation as it is often fully booked. You can always get colorful cocktails and beautifully designed sushi there.

The food is really wonderful. We've never had better sushi (and we know some). The warm dishes were also really great. (I had the udon noodles with duck). Of course the cocktails too! The only (small) drawback is that the benches have no backrest. That's why you don't sit there for too long.

We were there today just before the break, and we still received excellent service. The soup, tempura shrimp, sushi, and curry were all delicious. The atmosphere is lovely, with music and fresh flowers.

This sushi restaurant is truly remarkable! The sushi not only looks visually stunning but also show an impressive level of freshness of the ingredients. Additionally, the atmosphere of the restaurant is stunning—it’s warm and inviting, yet modern and sophisticated. A perfect blend of delicious food and a wonderful setting! Due to the space and the number of seats, it tends to get louder. This doesn't correspond to my type of comfort in a restaurant. That's why I've always positioned Zaiko somewhere between an upscale snack bar and a restaurant. Unfortunately, in recent years the price level has become more similar to that of a good restaurant, which is why the gap between ambience and price level is too big in my opinion. In addition, the portions are too small for me, which means I don't get full. The food has always been delicious, but unfortunately the overall package no longer works for me.

This nice sushi restaurant is located on Wuppertal's party mile. A large selection on the menu and friendly service staff in a pleasant atmosphere. My bowl full of fresh ingredients was delicious and fresh. The only downer is that unfortunately I didn't get full, the deep plate was only half full. In my opinion, the operator is making the wrong savings here.

We really enjoy eating at Zaiko. We don't generally like sushi, but we think the other dishes are excellent. We particularly like the curries. There is also a good lunch menu. The Lime Lemonade mocktail is our absolute favorite.

The sushi at Zaiko is simply amazing! Especially the inside-out sushi with flambéed salmon and beef on top – a perfect fusion! The sauce on top rounds the whole thing off perfectly and the sushi literally melts in your mouth. The taste is really a 10/10. Added to this is the incredibly friendly service that makes everything perfect. If you love sushi, you definitely have to go here!

The price is quite reasonable: I took the menu and beer - it came out to about 20 €. During the day there are few people, but in the evening there are more people. Quite a pleasant atmosphere in the establishment, it’s a pity there is no Asian-style music.

Certainly the best sushi in the Bergisch triangle. For us a real alternative to Quomo.

In my opinion, this is where you get the best sushi in the city: delicious creations, desserts and drinks. Plus a tasteful interior and friendly staff, what more could you want. We'll be back.

Really good sushi. There are actually a few alternatives in the area, I loved it here. Great drinks and beautifully presented sushi. Great taste 👌🏼. The furnishings are partly great, partly have a somewhat bare canteen feel. Maybe it should also appear minimalistic. Doesn't detract from the service and the food. Gladly again.

Small, cozy sushi shop with friendly, attentive service. The two of us had 12 crunchy rolls as well as 8 inside-out and 8 special rolls. It was a visual feast and a culinary delight! The price is of course higher, but this is due to the high-quality, fresh ingredients and the level of handwork. Best sushi (that I know of) in the valley. Addition: the outside seating is unfortunately very uncomfortable, I recommend eating inside.

Very tasty food. Steak was great yet overprice. Portions are not very big, pay attention on it. Salmon roll dish was 8 tiny pieces, my wife was a little hungry after it so we ordered additional. Foreign tourists, pay attention: you can't pay by your card here, VISA and Mastercard aren't working here, so be ready to search an ATM.

The food is always a pleasure. High quality and always with great attention to detail when preparing. Service staff always friendly and accommodating. Of course, at peak times there is sometimes a bit more waiting time, but it is always worth it without exception. We always like to come back. Keep it up!

My absolute favorite restaurant! Fresh, delicious food. I have to go there at least once a week; it's my absolute highlight. I've tried everything on the menu and can only say there's nothing I can't recommend! Every family gathering takes place there, and everyone absolutely loves it. I highly recommend eating there! If you don't, you're missing out.

We have been here many times and are always super satisfied! We mostly eat sushi and the selection and quality are great. It's super delicious every time. The other dishes such as bowls, tuna or steak on the hot stone and starters such as edamame or the mixed starter plate were always great. The service is always friendly and quick. Given the amount of sushi we order, it can sometimes take a while, but it is always beautifully prepared and tastes great. We can recommend Zaiko with a clear conscience! 😊

The five stars are far too few here! We are regulars at Zaiko! The ambience is simply stylish, it invites you for more. The sushi is the best, mind you, the eye eats with it, and the creativity in presenting the sushi from the best side leaves nothing to be desired. The staff was friendly and confidently courteous and very warm 🤍❤️ The staff noted the etiquette of the company, well to the point. Here you can get creative, delicious and beautifully prepared sushi! The taste is wow and the eye also enjoys eating here! The selection is large and varied. The atmosphere is nice, the service is good and they are very committed to fulfilling any special requests due to allergies. Actually, I've always felt very comfortable and the food has always been very good. Yesterday, however, the food almost stuck in my throat and I wanted to leave the restaurant. The reason: foie gras was offered on another menu!!! This is an absolute no go. Production is prohibited in Germany and many other EU countries!!! If someone doesn't understand the term foie gras, I think a look on the internet is enough...

Zaiko has a much higher quality compared to the well-known all you can eat restaurants. The service is very courteous and quick. The quality of the food and the ambience are top notch. We're always happy to come back.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed even though the atmosphere seemed nice. After a long wait for the food, we received different food than we ordered. Mistakes like that just happen, but the waitress' reaction was just completely rude. She looked at us angrily and asked: Then you want something else? Unfortunately, the word “sorry” was not used. Unfortunately, the quality of the food is not the best either. If you often eat in restaurants and have the comparison, you know that for the money you can at least expect nice service somewhere else. I hope the manager of this restaurant talks to the staff about good manners. Unfortunately, we cannot give this restaurant a good rating.

Sushi platter for two was absolutely great quality, the bowls were very good, spring rolls and chicken skewers as starters were very good. Service was very slow at the beginning, it took almost 30 minutes until we could order and then the drinks took another 20 minutes, from then on the service got better and faster, food came more quickly. As others have already written, it will be very loud inside, so conversations at normal volume will no longer work. Despite everything, we would visit again because of the great food

The atmosphere is welcoming and somewhat warm, but it gets noisy very quickly. All the staff were friendly, attentive and worked very swiftly. As a drink, I've ordered a Peach-Lemongrass Iced Tea, and wasn't too fond of it. It was very sweet, and a bit plain, undefined. Not necessarily bad per-se, but definitely not to my liking. For the main dish, I got the Fried Duck Teriyaki. The quality of the meat could've been slightly better, but the preparation was well executed. I liked the rice a lot, and the sides were fresh and well-balanced as well. My expectations were somewhat high after reading the website and some of the reviews, and my experience definitely wasn't bad. Yet I didn't leave all that satisfied after all; maybe it just wasn't my day.

It was wonderful there! The sushi tastes unique and always looks like a work of art! It wasn't our first time here, and we'll be back again! Even though it was a weekday, the store was very busy. Luckily we had reservations! It took a while for the food to arrive, but the quality spoke for itself. You can forgive longer waiting times because everything was freshly prepared and you could taste it too! Thumbs up for the desserts too! The Japanese ice cream is particularly recommended!

Actually a good restaurant, but the price-performance ratio is no longer right. For example, the price of Maguro Nigiri has been increased from €5.00 to €7.90. A 58% price increase within four months can no longer be justified with inflation or anything else.

Wir waren an einem Samstag Abend zum Essen da. Alles - von Vorspeise, Sushi bis hin zum Tee - war sehr lecker. Auch der Service war top. Wir wollten uns ein Sushi Special für zwei Personen bestellen und bekamen von der Dame den Hinweis, dass es etwas zu groß für uns sein könnte. Sie empfahl das Special nur für eine Person plus eine separate Rolle. Das taten wir uns waren froh und dankbar für diesen ehrlichen Tipp. Alles in allem: wir kommen wieder und freuen uns auf das nächste Mal.

Vorwort: Ich schreibe diese Bewertung nachträglich, da mir das Essen positiv in Erinnerung geblieben ist, aber meinerseits keine Rezension erfolgte. Ambiente: Es war ein warmer Sonntag im Juni, jedoch leicht bewölkt. Wir saßen zu viert auf der abgezäunten Außenterrasse. Tische und Stühle aus Holz sind relativ bequem, jedoch entsteht kein asiatisches Ambiente. Speisekarte: Wie der Name des Speiselokals vermittelt, werden hier vorrangig diverse Variationen von Sushi als auch asiatischen Speisen vertrieben. Dies lässt den Kunden in erster Linie hinterfragen inwieweit alles frisch gekocht werden kann im à la carte Geschäft. Wie so üblich in der asiatischen Küche werden hier Vegetarier sehr zufrieden sein. Essen: Ich habe mich für das "Mango Kokos Cream" Curry mit Ente für 15,90€ entschieden. Weiterhin haben wir auch ein paar Sushi Rollen geteilt, wobei ich da keine qualifizierte Aussage mehr tätigen kann. Das Curry wird auf einem blau-grauen Teller serviert. Es beeindruckt den Gast mit einem glänzenden Curry, eine schon fürs bloße Auge knusprige Ente und einem frischen Salat. Die Ente war die Perfektion aus knuspriger Haut und butterweichem Fleisch. Das junge Gemüse wurde nur zaghaft gegart, ohne jegliche Maillard-Reaktion (im Volksmund: ohne anbraten). Der Salat ist frisch, jedoch ungesalzen aber mit einem leckeren Dressing welches es wiederum rettet. Sonstiges: Der Teller hatte eine kleine Beschädigung, welche dem Gast sofort ins Auge springt. Die Wahl der Farbe ist meiner Einschätzung suboptimal, bei so hellen und knalligen Farben, hätte ein dunkler Teller einen noch größeren Kontrasteffekt. Fazit: Das Essen war für mich eine 4,5 es hat nicht mehr viel zu dem perfekten Mittagessen gefehlt aber ich vergebe dennoch die 5 Sterne, da ich das Komplettpaket wertschätze.
